For KotOR there isn't much for mods and the like that I use, generally just skins for robes (with no beefed up "uber" stats, makes the game boring, imo) and new selectable heads. KotOR2 on the other hand, I always get restore downloads and new robe skins and selectable heads. ;D I've done a few add-on quest mods before, but I don't know... if they don't break the game somehow, they tend to feel... out of place with the main game. I generally like messing around with the stuff that was originally part of the game but was taken out, you know... restored stuffs. Although, SGE is nice little thinger to download to, won't ever have to type in another cheat code, ever. ;D

Thankies. The Jedi robes were a wee bit on the dull side. X) Okay, scratch that, they were totally boring except for the Dark Blue one you can find in the ruins on Dantooine, but the Defense boost on that one isn't as good as some of the others. X) roffle.

I don't think they wver ported it over for the 360, seeing as it was origionally released for the old XBox. I dunno though, I play on my PC. X) Ebay usually has good deals on software, though, and KotOR is relatively old, which means it's probably on the inexpensive side. Then again, everyone loves KotOR... And yes, you absolutely must play it. In other news, I'm finally getting around to playing KotOR II, and it's awesome so far. And I'm still on Telos. ;D

Hmm, might begin to play through both of them properly again.
And Tim, I would recommend them for pc over Xbox, because once you step into the realm of mods it gets rather interesting.

However, I would recommend going to Target (yes, Target) and if it's a big one, there will most likely be a pack that has both KOTORs, SWBF & SWBF2, Republic Commando, and one other game... Forgot what is was. Might've been Empire at War, but I forget. It's a Star Wars classics for the PC, and that's what I would recommend.

*shakes head* I'm just going to ignore that blasphemous comment. Mostly. X) Sure, the graphics are old and the gameplay different, but the story is wonderful, the characters engaging, and I'd take it over Halo or CoD or WoW any day. But you're entitled to your opinion, same as everyone.

You know what's really interesting? I've played this game at least fifty times with over a hundred different mods (always multiple mods running, I'm addicted >.<) and there are still lines I've never heard. Probably has something to do with Canderous and HK-47 ALWAYS being in my party.....
And, once you get really good at playing kotor one and two, there's a mod out called increased difficulty or some such. It has what they call a 'horror' mode. Couple that with the Weapons of KotOR mod which increases the dmg of basic blasters 5 fold (it increases everything else too), and the shopkeeper's mod which increases what you can buy at every store, and you can be a badass on Taris without having to go nuts. And one-hit kills on damned near everything is fun too, cause there's still a challenge... Just don't get cocky and try to take down the Rancor... it's not that you can't do it, but it's running a 1 hit kill script. you get into the rather impressive range, even if it misses you, you die. I found that out running a level 20 Scout/consular combo with a hacked 420 VP >.<

That sounds interesting. I wish I could get these mods on Xbox. I have both games for PC and xbox, but none of our PC's can run either of them. I've heard there are ways to do it, but I dunno how. That's one reason I tried to mod my xbox.... tried and phailed. xD On another note, I took down the rancor on Taris with two vibroblades. No cheats. On Xbox. xD

The grenades were hugely handy there. *nod* Sneak out in stealth mode, throw the grenade, and run like Armageddon. In a somewhat random musing, did anyone ever figure out what it is you do with the Rancor scent? I figured it had something to do with laying mines, then tempting it closer... but I never could figure it out. One of those odd things you pick up and never find a use for... at least, I never found a use for it. X) As of right now, I've only played through KotOR once, no mods, and I'm thinking I ought to remedy that. X) Now that I know how the story goes, I'm eager to fiddle with a few more sub-plots... KotOR is such an amazing game.

O.o
I never tried throwing the grenade at the rancor.
I went into stealth mode then put a grenade and a scent vial in the pile of bones. You get a nice little scene of the rancor eating said combination of bones, rancor scent and grenade. And then, you guessed it, bye bye rancor-insides, hello successful infiltration.
I always thought that was the way you were meant to do it, or was that just me?

xD That's probably much, much smarter. See, I never figured out the useful-ness of the 'give item' thing until the Sith Temple... X) Roffle. Yes, it takes quite a few more grenades, and a bit more patience to kill the Rancor that way. You have to use Frag and Poison, seeing as most of the other ones accessible on Taris don't do any good. The Rancor will chase you back to the entrance every time, and then you have to wait for him to go back, sneak in, throw another grenade, run away, hide, wait for him to go back, sneak out, thrown another grenade... well, you get the picture. X) 'twould be much more efficient your way... xD I resolve to try that next time.
