Zane has a slim, athletic frame, vibrant green eyes, and two tone hair,
which is common to his race. His satin-blonde / bronze colored hair
accentuates his golden complexion; some even jest that he literally
lights up a room when he enters it. Zane has been known to wear a
combination of athletic-wear and punk / rocker apparel. He seems to
like silver and green.
Personality:
Zane is honest and loyal, always thinking of and looking for the best in
others. Personalities fascinate him, and he puts forth considerable effort
to build up and maintain relationships with others. Zane is a calm, imaginative
person that likes to contemplate fantasy and future possibilities; not to
say that he is incapable of setting such things aside and dealing with reality
in a sensible, detailed manner, he simply prefers to weight out the feasible
options first. Zane's flexibility often proves to be his greatest frustration.
While able to figure out things for himself and adapt, Zane is not typically quick
to make decisions and sometimes struggles to commit to any certain course
of action. And while it often falls upon him to mediate, organize, and move
events forward, he is not quite the fearless leader others seem to think he is,
yet. Also, Zane's capacity for empathy often leaves him feeling misunderstood,
disappointed, and sometimes even betrayed. This leads him to temporarily
close himself off from others, becoming cynical, apathetic, and irritable.
And unfortunately, because of how long his patience and understanding
usually lasts him, Zane is relatively slow to forgive and forget. After a time
though, he'll be back to his usual self – whether you call it naïve, or truly brave.

The Early Years[/u][/i]
1 - 12
Zane was born into the large and long-lived Kellir family.
The Firrerreo clan kept their traditions alive, instilling
their moral code and their practices into their children
early on. In fact, soon after Zane could walk and talk,
his family set to training him in their ways. At just three
years old, the boy was taught about the family creedo:
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good
men do nothing." It was explained to Zane that although
the Kellir don't always seek out evil, they at least made
themselves ready to assist those who stand on the side of
order and the greater good if / when the situation arises.
Little Zane didn't comprehend fully of course, but there was
no doubt that he would grow to become a fine young man
who did his best to stand for what was right.
Zane spent most of the next year of his life confined to a
hospital bed after contracting a rare virus from school. The
virus had mutated itself, turning the child's powerful Firrerreon
immune system against him. During this time, Zane's family
intensified his Force training, believing it to be the only sure
way to heal him and save him life. Having sensed the great
well of Force affinity common to their bloodline in the boy, the
Kellir had already begun to introduce Zane to telepathy, getting
him used to speaking mind-to-mind, but now it was time for
more. As the days, weeks, and months passed, Zane learned
the true meaning of "mind over matter" and they were able to
utilize telepathy to affect his physiology to speed his recovery.
Finally, the boy healed enough to return home, where he used
his summer-vacation to catch up on what he had missed in
school and continue to develop his Force sensitivity.
Zane returned to public school the following year, all the stronger
for his near brush with death. Zane was as good of a student as
a five year old can be, although it seemed to his teacher that he
often seemed lost in thought, and when she would finally catch
his attention, he'd have the most peculiar 'wise beyond one's
years' look in his eyes. Zane also began to stand out in music
class, for it was plain to see that he possessed great potential
in singing.
When Zane turned six years old, he was introduced to yet
another family tradition - meditative martial arts. At the beginning
of his physical training, Zane had trouble getting out of bed in
time for school, and started falling asleep at his desk. Time went
on however, and he adjusted to the rigorous training little by little.
After that, first grade went on in a normal fashion, with Zane
catching onto the basics of mathematics, becoming more skilled
in reading and writing, and getting involved in more music-related
projects. The next year, Zane divided his free time between his
training and taking singing lessons. By this time, the boy had
become popular amongst his peers, although some jeered that
singing was for sissies. That summer, Zane entered into a singing
contest, and although he didn't place first, he enjoyed the
experience all the same.
Third grade came around quickly, and this year eight year old
Zane Kellir added learning to play an instrument to his repertoire.
His instument of choice was at first the chordokeylo (keyboard
piano). But, after discovering the double viol (bass guitar), he
lost enthusiam for the keyboard and set his mind to tackling the
more difficult, and more engaging skill of playing the viol (guitar).
Zane competed in a few more music contests as the year went
on, and shortly after the next school-year began he and three
other kids formed a band of sorts, calling themselves the Space
Junkies. The band lasted for two years; things slowed way
down after the novelty of four pre-teens performing on the HoloNet
wore off. During their time of popularity though, Zane and the
others made guest appearances on a few radio talk-shows.
Zane, as the lead singer, received the most attention, which
served him well when he went on to join a second band at the
age of eleven.
Fifth grade passed much the same. The school-work was only
marginally more difficult than the previous year, and Zane
continued to handle the basic academics effortlessly. Zane also
continued to go by the name 'Kev Lamath' just as he had been
doing since he started attending school. (The Firrerreo people
place a special significance upon their names, believing that
someone who knows their true name holds a certain power over
them.) Zane joined a new band called Tonedeaf that year,
who had lost their previous double viol player (bass guitarist)
due to a disagreement. The scheduling was a bit more troublesome,
but Tonedeaf faired well, and Zane would stay with them for
two and a half years, even going on a tour of Taris during the
summer-vacations.
The Teenage Years[/u][/i]
13 - 19
Near the end of his time as a double violist (bass guitarist) for
Tonedeaf, Zane became friends with (at least in his mind) a
girl named Realin Ardia. Now thirteen, Zane became much more
aware of his surroundings - and any cute girls in sight within them.
Part of him enjoyed the fact that Realin blushed frequently when
she was around him, but the greater part of him made him focus
on simply being the best friend to her that he could be.
Zane was the busiest he had ever been in sixth grade; between
band practice, small concerts, family training, school sporting
events, and hanging out with Realin, Zane had to once again
adjust himself to the added taxation of his time and energy.
Zane would often beg Realin to watch his band perform, and
much to his delight she took up the invitation on several occasions.
Later that same year however, the band members went their
seperate ways and Zane was once again in search of a new band.
It didn't take long though; not long after he turned fourteen,
Zane was contacted by a group called Teche Noire and offered
a place among them. He had never been happier. He was joining
a band for the third time, graduating from double violist (bass
guitarist) / back-up singer to lead singer / synth viol player
(acoustic guitarist). Now an integral part of a band, Zane would
be in the relative background no longer. Plus, he now had a true
best friend, one that shared his interest in music. Mostly subconsciously,
Zane tried over and over to find ways to pull Realin out of her
shell - after all, people don't find a diamond in the rough and fail
to celebrate it, do they? Such could be said to be the sum of their
relationship.
Teche Noire was a hit amongst young fans of a progressive
persuasion, but it failed to stir the interest of non-teens on a
large scale, which would ultimately lead to its downfall. At the
age of sixteen, Zane was just starting to think that his music
career would never really take off when he discovered several
songs and poems that Realin had written. He was blown away,
and from that point forward his life-long dream took a slightly
different direction. He would start his own band this time, and
this time it was sure to succeed. He had almost joined up with
several bands in the past, but had always changed his mind after
finding out that they were involved in gangs, drugs, and other
things of that nature - but this time he didn't have to bother.
Now all he had to do was look up some of his old contacts... and
convince Realin to join him.
It didn't take as long as he had expected it too, and soon enough
he and Realin were mulling over a name for their band (or at least
he was). They thought of several, including 'Holocronic Fever' but
eventually settled on dubbing their new band Holosonic Halcyon.
After that, Zane found a manager to handle the scheduling and
expenses and then set out to recruit the rest of Holosonic's
members. Zane's seventeenth birthday would mark the band's
first official day of practice, now that it was complete with the
addition of a drummer and chordokeylo (piano keyboard) player.
After a year of performing all over Taris, Holosonic Halcyon finally
pulled off their first big gig off-planet, which was especially
impressive considering that Zane had lost his voice (due to
slight illness and practicing so much) and it was up to Realin to
sing infront of the largest audience they had ever performed for.

~ A Second Chance ~[/i]
Zane had been apologizing for the better part of the school-year. While waiting
for Realin to get herself ready to attend one of Teche Noire's concerts, he had
spotted the datapad that Realin almost always carried with her lying there. It
had been left on by accident and Zane (overcome with curiousity), had finally
allowed himself to look at its contents. What he had found written there stunned him; he had been unable to look away even after his senses had warned him that Realin would be walking around the corner any second. A minute later, after Realin had asked him what he was doing, Zane had finally looked up. The purple hue of her eyes seemed to change from soothing to inflamed as she had realized that what he was holding was her very personal datapad. She blushed with embarrassment at first, but it had then quickly became a flush of anger.
"Realin, these songs... you wrote them? ...They're beautiful." Zane stood and
slowly moved towards her, mentally kicking himself for not simply asking her
about it instead of invading her privacy. Whether Realin heard him or not remains to be seen, because a moment later she was yelling at him for the first time and on the verge of crying. And then she had slapped him across the face.
Now, months later, Zane's apology had finally been accepted. And when Realin
asked him why he had made her promise to help him form a new band, he had smiled, bumped her shoulder playfully, and then told her that the lyrics she'd
written were too good to stay locked away in a datapad where no one would ever know about them. Then, he had leaned back, looked up into the sunlight
and said: "And besides, I almost died when I was younger. I've already been given a second chance, and there's no way I can let it just pass me by."
He looked over to see if he was making any sense to her before continuing.
"And I... I'd kinda like you to be a part of it. You're too special to just hide in the background, where no one can ever get to know the real you." Zane fell silent after that, but it wasn't an uncomfortable silence, just a natural pause in a conversation between newly reconciled friends. Or at least that's what the two of them were telling themselves, because if they didn't then they would have to face the fact that both of them were aware of the possibility of more than just a normal friendship between them.
