Vash is a middle-aged Veknoid. He has brown, smooth skin, beedy black eyes and a mouth full of blunt teeth with four large teeth on either side. The Veknoid is often seen wearing mining goggles. He also carries a satchel filled with various illegal items from questionable vendors.
Vash's physique is muscly from his days as a miner on Kallistas, and he has a hacking cough from smoking thick, Haruun Kal cigarras.
Birth place: Moonus Mandel
Occupation: Freelance Pilot
Rank: N/A
Bio:
Vash was born on Moonus Mandel to a smuggler and an underage Veknoid female. The female gave birth to Vash and quickly left him with his father, who lived on the starship he flew.
When Vash was old enough to walk, talk, and listen, he began learning to fly freighters from his father. The man was loving, but very ignorant in raising children. His father often left him alone while he picked up cargo from shady characters. When Vash's father was stopped at checkpoints in the Core Worlds, he often used his small son to by some time while he either dumped cargo or stuck it out of site.
When Vash was a young teen, his father got into a fight over a pazaak game on Nar Shadda and killed a man. The young Veknoid's father was thrown in prison and his freighter was impounded. Vash was left homeless and with no one to support him. After a few years of living on the streets, stealing, and incorporating himself with the Exchange, Vash cleaned his act up and got off the "Smuggler's Moon".
Vash hitched a ride as a stow away on a passenger ship to the Core Worlds. The ship stopped on Alderaan and Vash posed as a luggage handler, making enough tips from his careful handling of the luggage to buy himself a meal and a night in a shabby hotel. After a few days on the street of Alderaan and acquainting himself with the Alderaanian crime world, Vash found a flyer for a mining job in the Outter Rim working for a small mining company called Kiral and Associates Mining Company with outposts on several worlds.
Vash signed up at the mining company's sponsor facility on Alderaan and was ferried with many other poor men from Alderaan to the company's headquarters on Isiring. Once on Isiring, the young Veknoid was transferred to the company's very under-staffed mine on Kallistas.
Once Vash got to Kallistas, he soon figured out why it was so under-staffed. The planet was crawling with pirates. The transport he had taken there was nearly shot down by a group of pirates on the way in. Luckily, a small security fleet employed by the Kiral and Associates Mining Company. Once on Kallistas, Vash was trained by a veteran Besalisk miner named Kamb.
Kamb showed Vash how to read the mining scanners, operate the drills, work the mining lasers, and prime explosives for building tunnels. The last thing he taught him, perhaps the most important thing was how to shoot a blaster. Since the danger on the world was great, Kiral and Associates had funded a small armory for the miners and the security force. Each miner was issued a heavy blaster pistol along with the basic gear.
Vash learned to shoot quickly, and he had to, for almost every day a few pirates would sneak past the security force and get into the mine. Vash saw a few people get killed, and killed one or two pirates himself in only his first few days. This job was not worth the pay, but atleast it provided steady work for the adolescent Veknoid, and offered room and board at no cost.
The bunk rooms for the miners were meager, the offered a small bed, a cheap blanket and pillow, and a crate fixed with a shelf for each of the personnel's personal items. Eventually, as a few years went by, Kamb and Vash became close friends. Very few of the miners socialized with each other, most of them just loathed because the pay was terrible for the dangerous job they were doing. Some loathed at not being able to see their families and others were angry people.
After about six years of working at the mine, Vash lost his only friend to a collapsing tunnel. The Besalisk had died a hero, using his strong physique and multiple arms to hold up the tunnel while all the other miners escaped. Kamb's will left Vash everything the old Besalisk had. On Ojom, awaiting his arrival would be a bank account with over one hundred thousand Republic Dactaries and a small house that had been Kamb's father's.
Kamb soon took all his pay and caught the next transport off of Kallistas, heart-broken, but excited for what awaited him on Ojom. Vash on arriving, showed the bank the signed will of Kamb and withdrew all of the money, closing the account. He went to Kamb's home and gave the title to Kamb's next of kin; his cousin Blex. Kamb left on a civilian transport and bought a brand new TL-22 freighter. With what was left, he bought a small astromech that he named Shorty. He named the ship the Celestial Dagger
Vash, once again was out of work. He lived out of his freighter and his only companion was Shorty. Vash eventual put out services as a freelance pilot. Eventually, people got wind that he was willing to charge low prices to ferry anyone where they needed and business picked up. Occasionally, Vash would "transport" questionable cargo from place to place for extra money. With the extra money, he modified his TL-22 with better shielding and engines. Eventually, the ship was turned into a very fast, very defensible freighter. It even rivaled some of the illegally modified smuggling ships.
After a few years he began dipping into the larger cargo, keeping various sliced weapons, drugs, contraband and other questionable items in a satchel and selling them to spacers in various starports. He began hanging out in cantinas that were dominated by spacers on small Outer Rim Worlds. Occasionally he would race his ship through asteroid belts for money. His piloting skills and years of experience eventually payed off. He made a name for himself in the small Outer Rim circuits.
On one occasion he entered a big circuit. Making a run through one of the most dangerous asteroid belts in the Outer Rim. With the help of Shorty, and his piloting skill, the Veknoid won the race and the notoriety for being a very formidable pilot. After a while, he stopped racing and went back to ferrying people around and the occasional smuggling. Business picked up faster this time, for people across the Outer Rim knew of him. They all wanted to ride in the famous Celestial Dagger.
Vash currently ferries people around, and still does the occasional smuggling; for the right price of course.

"This my boy, this is your life here. This piece of durasteel filled with tibana gas is what saves you from bein' a pile of ashes on the floor because some crazy ol' pirate waltzes in the mine with a disruptor pistol," said Kamb.
The Besilisk had the most serious look that Vash had ever seen. One of Kamb's large hands dropped the heavy blaster in the Veknoid's hand. He felt the weight of it and looked down the sight. He remembered his father carrying a similar pistol. Kamb went over and stuck a few pieces of scrap metal in the dirt. One was about five yards away. The other was twenty and the last was one hundred.
"Now look here boy, aim for the middle. The trick is to hold the blaster steady and aim quickly. Don't bother with the sight, shoot a few times to get a feel for where the shot goes if you point the barrel and not the sight at somethin'," instructed Kamb.
Vash pointed the barrel of the blaster at a near by wall of rock. He squeezed the trigger twice. Two green bolts hit a little above and to the left of the barrel's aim. He remembered that as he took aim at the pieces of metal. He aimed the barrel below and a little to the left of the middle. of the scrap. Squeezing the trigger, he fired one shot directly at the middle.
"Now see boy, that five yard range is for yer quick draw. Now yer gunna' need the sights for the next couple, don't worry, these are easy," said Kamb with a big grin on his face.
