The old ship had once been a blockade runner for the Republic, during the Civil war about 300-500 years ago. It was rusting in places, but the systems were still in fair condition considering it had been shot to slag in a battle over head. The ship had been claimed and salvaged by a mechanic named fixer. The ship had broken in half upon landing, but the hangar bay had been repaired and returned to working condition. Fixer sold the forward section of the ship to the republic as scrap, as well as all the gun emplacements. While the rear sections of the ship were repaired and returned to working condition, the mechanics offices had been refurbished and filled.
Outside along the hull, a few lights lit up the name of the ship.
Aside from the main facilities of The Lost Odyssey, Three Landing pads are arranged outside, for craft too large to fit in the hangar, or for customer parking. Each has a small readout and Landing Beacon located in the corner. Convenient for a quick scan or for landing on those dark and stormy Ord Mantel nights.
"Lost Oddyssey"The long awaited map- ((Coming soon... Photo Bucket is being...difficult)) Fixer lay prostrate under the forward landing gear of the Aurek fighter. Some hot dog pilot had been doing maneuvers over Ord Mantel, when his ship was struck by space debri. He looked at the old piece of dud ordinance sitting near the scrap pile, that had been lodged in the forward landing strut. He sighed and shook his head, lturning his attention back to the landing gear. He reached for his tool box and felt around for a hydro spanner. "Ribber! Where's my Hydro-" He stopped as he felt a hydro spanner laid into his hand. "Thanks."He loosenned the ruinned piece of armor plateing that was attached to the forward landing strut and slowly slid it off. A blast of hydrolic fluid sprayed his face and fixer cursed.

Fixer wiped the green goo from his eyes and held his hand in front of the breakage. With his teeth grit, he tightenned the transfer nozzle between the hydrolic tubeing and the strut. The Hydrolic fluid's rush slowed to a drip, and the landing strut locked onto place.
"Damn pilots! can't keep from being hotshots, gotta go diving and barrelling after anything that has an ordanance sig." Fixer slid the repulsor pallette out from under the ship and stood up wipeing off the green goop. It covered his suit and hands. "Ribber watch the shop a minute. I gotta hit the refresher...blasted pilots."

Raph'e walked into the shop, gazing about in awe. It was a capital ship hangar, all right. He could see an Aurek fighter, with some hydrolic fluid pooled below it. It wasn't horrible, but it would be an annoyance. Hydrolic fluid could get pretty spendy too.
Tearing his gaze from the Aurek, he spotted somebody who seemed to be watching over the place. "Hello, my name is Raph'e Culdirido. I'm looking for a man who goes by the name of Fixer. I'm seeking employment."
He needed a job. Badly. After that whole mess on Commenor he needed to get away, and Ord Mantell was a pretty out of the way place. He could start anew here, get a new life.
But first he would need some income. He needed to find employment. He'd already checked three workshops and had gotten nothing. This was his next stop. It seemed like a pretty nice place. Raph'e could get used to it.
Hopefully this "Fixer" character would give him the chance.

The refresher was in remarkably good condition. Something he had been grateful for ever since he sold the other half of the ship for scrap and started his business. It had probably been an officers by the look of it. He chuckled to himself. A working class man in an officers refresher. Through the open door he heard an unfamiliar voice in the normal morning quiet of the shop. Somone was talking to Ribber, who as usual wasnt saying anything.
"Hello, my name is Raph'e Culdirido. I'm looking for a man who goes by the name of Fixer. I'm seeking employment."
He watched the man talk to Ribber as she smileed at him. After the man had finished, he wiped his hands off with a rag, and stepped out into the Hangar.
The young fella looked tall and lanky. Strong frame. His Olive skin was a match to go with his dark hair and eyes. Ribber liked that sort, he could already see that gleam in her eye. Better step in before she leaps on him.
"Evening kiddo, you say your looking for "Fixer"? That'd be me. Thats to say, as long as I don't owe ya credits. what can I do for ya?" Rev said, sizing up what the young fella was wearing. Looked like travelling clothes, and a pack. Drifter maybe, but there was something in the young mans eyes that didnt look like he was on the run, or looking for a handout.

The good looking woman smiled at Raph'e, and he made a mental note to speak to the woman at a later time; on less professional terms. She opened her mouth to speak, but never got the chance. A man appeared, addressing the young would-be mechanic.
He nodded in greeting to the man. "Hello, my name's Raph'e Culdirido. I'm a pilot and mechanic; and I'm looking for employment. Something stable, with good pay. I'm a hard worker, and I can navigate my way through any piece of machinery. Do you have a job opening by any chance?"
This place looked nice, and so far Raph'e liked the people. If he could get himself hired he'd be set. The other places he only pursued half-heartedly, but this place had a sort of attractive feel. He really wanted the job here.
He just hoped Fixer would give him the chance.

The young man nodded in greeting to the Fixer as he approached. "Hello, my name's Raph'e Culdirido. I'm a pilot and mechanic; and I'm looking for employment. Something stable, with good pay. I'm a hard worker, and I can navigate my way through any piece of machinery. Do you have a job opening by any chance?"
Fixer rubbed the gunk out from between his fingers while he listenned.
"Well, currently we arent looking for anyone." The look on the young mans face kinda tugged at his heartstrings. "But I tell ya what kiddo, lets see how ya do on the Aurek fighter over there and we'll talk about it when I get back. I need to head over to the junk yard and pick up a few spare parts for a Corvette reactor."
"Ribber will keep an eye on you while I'm gone, and if Piney comes over don't worry, he's a just a big old push over." A strange bark came from one of the corners of the Hangar and a large slice hound came bounding over, its pink tongue lolling.
"Oh, never mind that eh, formal introductions. Piney, meet Raph'e. Raph'e this is Piney." Fixer said a watching smile on his face. If the slice hound liked him, the guy was probably ok...that or he had some meat stuffed into his travel pack somewhere.
Fixer watched as the dog wandered over and sniffed at Raph'e's outstretched hand. With a gentle manner Piney licked the hand and turned around to go sit down next to fixer. The Slice hound looked up at him with a "Please approve of my behavior" look.
"Good pup." Fixer said. His attention turned back to Raph'e. "Alright then, you'll find a set of maitinence clothes over in the old ships crew quarters locker room, and you can get to working on the ship when your ready. I should be back in about an hour." Fixer said as he patted the slice hound on the head.
Without a second glance Fixer wandered over to a speeder parked in the Hangar, hopped in, and headed off in it leaving Raph'e under the watchful eye of Ribber and Piney.

Raph'e's face fell when Fixer said he wasn't looking for anyone. But he found a smile once again when the man said he would give him a chance on the Aurek fighter. After meeting the man's slice hound he nodded in thanks. "Thank you for giving me a chance. I won't disappoint. See you in an hour." He waved goodbye to the man, and quickly turned and made his way to the locker room.
The place was dusty and grimy, but nice. It had a cozy feel to it, Raph'e liked that. He found a clean set of working clothes and quickly changed. He didn't know how bad the damage was, or how long it would take to fix it. He might as well play it safe and save as much time as possible.
He rushed back out into the hanger and towards the Aurek fighter. Lying flat, he surveyed the damage. It seemed that Fixer had been working on the forward landing strut. He could see the broken piece of armor and the pool of hydrolic fluid its removal had brought forth. He snatched a sealant toll and shoved it into the small hole, finding the broken tube and pulling the trigger, filling the gash with sticky goo. Once applied, he gave the sealant a little time to dry. Standing, he opened an access panel and refilled the fighter with fluid. Closing the panel, he went back to the ground.
The sealant was dry now. He laid down, looking at the hole for a moment. He didn't know how Fixer went about replacing the armor, so he wouldn't bother with that yet. He would just have to make sure all the lines and connections were fine, and that the strut could deploy and undeploy properly. That wouldn't be too bad...
An hour later Raph'e finally stood, a triumphant smile plastered to his face. "There! Everythings better, all except the hole in the armor. I've no idea where you keep replacement pieces and the tools to put them on. But it should only be a minute once you pull those out. Everything else is working fine."
Now all he had to do was wait for Fixer's return...
(Sorry it wasn't too great lol)

((quit worrying about it being "Teh suck" You write great.))
Fixer flew the speeder into the Hangar and parked it in its usual spot. He turned off the engine and popped the rear hatch and hopped out of the cockpit. He would get to unloading parts after he finished looking at the Aurek.
He whistled through his front teeth and walked past Raph'e as he wiped off his hands. He hopped onto the repulsor pallette and slid under the Aurek fighter and looked at the landing gear systems. "Mmm, yeah... ok...you used some of... yeah... Ok... how did...oh... ok..." He reached up and tugged on some of the tubeing. It was tight. "Did you already test the landing gear to see if it retracted and openned ok?"
He said as he scanned it with a small diagnostics pad. The technical readout looked good.

(Thanks lol)
A moment later Fixer had arrived, parking the speeder and walking over. Raph'e stood by, nervous and tense, as the man inspected the fighter. He prayed he hadn't made a mistake, that he hadn't been wrong about everything being ok. But all seemed well.
Fixer asked him if he had tested the ship, and the prospective employee nodded quickly in response. "Yep, it all worked fine. For all intensive purposes the fighter is just fine. It can land, take off, fly, everything. It's in great condition. There's just that hole right there. I didn't know how you went about replacing armor, so I didn't try. I didn't want to run the risk of damaging the fighter or costing you anything. But replacing it shouldn't take too long. What do you think?"
He shivered with anticipation. He had spent an hour working on that ship, and he had done his very best. He wanted this job, badly. He glanced over at Fixer's pretty assistant. She was smiling at him. Maybe he had a chance? Meekly, he smiled back. Try as he might, he couldn't keep his hopes from getting up. Maybe he had a real chance of getting this job. Maybe he would finally find a home on Ord Mantell.
Maybe finally things would go right.
He looked back to the gruff mechanic, and expectantly awaited word of his fate.

Fixer looked it all over and decided, he'd make the guy go through one final test. "Well it all looks good to me. We don't keep spare fighter armor lying around of course. You'll want to fly this back to HQ and take the shuttle back. Ribber will stow your things in one of the officers quarters while your gone. Be sure to take their payment, they have a copy of the agreement. Oh yeah, be sure to take it slow, if you go too fast with a damaged panel like this you may risk damaging the ship." He said with a casual tone.
With that he slid out from under the Aurek, and hopped off the repulsor pallette. The kid had skills. Funny though, why he wasnt working for Merson, or Tam and Bak. A kid with skill like that should be designing starships. The thought troubled fixer a little, but he wasn't about to let a catch like Raph'e go.
"I'll see you in a little while."

Raph'e grinned as the man spoke. He had done it! He had the job, now he just needed to get the fighter back to it's home. His grin just got wider as he contemplated that. Not only was he getting to work on machines, he was getting to fly them?
This was paradise.
"All right, I'll be back in no time." Turning, he handed his things to the pretty assistant, the two exchanging another set of smiles before parting.
Waving goodbye to his new employer, Raph'e looked at the ship. It was beautiful, all right. Raph'e loved Aureks. Fast, maneuverable. They were a fun little ship. Popping the hatch, Raph'e hopped inside and began running through the pre-flight checklist. Once everything was green the mechanic started the fighter up, nudging it slowly off the ground and taking it gingerly out of the hangar.
Once clear Raph'e punched the throttle, taking the little fighter high into the skies over Ord Mantell. He set a course for the HQ, and eased the fighter into a nice cruising speed, slow enough to ensure its continued safety and integrity.
Soon enough he had reached the HQ. A traffic officer directed him towards his landing area, and in a moment he was on the ground. Finding a ranking official, he took payment for the crafts repairs, and went to the shuttle hangar.
Raph'e detested public transport, especially after flying a craft himself. But he would deal with it, at least until he had amassed enough money to buy a ship of his own. The anticipation mounted in his stomach once more. He had the job, he had income.
Now he could finally have a life.
The shuttle stopped a few blocks from the 'Lost Odyssey', forcing Raph'e to walk the rest of the distance. But he didn't mind, it wasn't terribly long. A few minutes later he was back, walking up to Fixer with a smile.
"Back. Here's the money." Raph'e took the Credit package out of his pocket, holding it out for his new boss.

Fixer took the reciet and inspected it. All seemed to be in order. Without looking at Raph'e he gestured toward Ribber. "Ribber can show you to your digs, when your done setting up your room, we have some work to do around here. Come back to the Hangar and help me drag these parts down to the Reactor core, I'm gonna make a sandwich." Fixer said as he wandered off to the offices to catalogue the receipt and fill out the paper work involved. With any luck they'd have the reactor back online today and they'd be able to use power tools again in the Hangar.
As he walked into the office he sat in his swivel chair and laid the paper down on his messy desk. He pulled up the Holo-news on his net hook up and typed in a search query on Raph'e Culdirido...
He got up and filed the reciept and added the gain to his catalogues. He wandered over to an engine cooling unit and openned a hatch. Inside there were a few Jawa Beers and some thinly sliced meat. He left the beers in the Engine cooler and pulled out the meat. He hummed a soft toon to himself as he searched a cabinet for a loaf of bread. Useing a dull hull saw, he sliced it thin and laid out some bread on the table. Added some meat, a little sauce with a spreading spade.
At that moment the Holo-search made a dinging sound and he turned his gaze over to the news article.
"Freighter explodes in flight Engineer implicated in Explosion"
Fixer dropped the spade. It fell to the floor and stuck into it like a knife. His hand reached out and tapped up the detail of the article.
After going through the information he sorta scratched his head, and shrugged it off. He'd keep an eye on him, but the fella seemed capable. He put the leftover meat back in the cooling unit and took the sandwiches he'd made with him and laid them out on the greeters counter in front of Ribber who was reading over some paper work. She looked up at Fixer and smiled her infectious smile, and nodded. "yeah I like him too" He said to her even though he knew she couldnt talk back. "Give him one of these when he comes out and show him where the reactor room is on the map." He dropped off two of the sandwiches and wandered over to the back of his speeder. He grabbed a couple fuel cells in his hand and took a bite of his sandwich with the other.
He wandered darkenned corridor taking a bite of his sandwich on occasion. Up ahead a light illuminated the reactor room. 'Ahh, finally today we can restore power to this old piece of ordinance. Get her running again.' He thought. He was eager to finally get it done. The business was suffering.

Raph'e nodded. "All right, sounds good." Turning, he followed the pretty Zeltron down a small corridor. The place sure was cozy. He liked it. Soon she stopped at a door, and Raph'e stepped inside. It wasn't too large, but it wasn't small either. There was a second door along the wall to his right, undoubtedly leading to the 'fresher. Opposite him lay a small bed flanked by tables and footlockers. Storage cubbies and other accessories lined the other walls. There was a small viewport as well. The place screamed Military cabin. It was large and well outfitted though, it must have been intended for an experienced officer.
Dropping his bags, he went about settling in. He put away his clothes, supplies, equipment, everything he had. It wasn't much, but it was his. Once finished he stood up and surveyed the scene. He exhaled with a smile. He had a home.
A moment later he was back in the corridor, heading towards the hangar. There, as always, was Ribber. He nodded in thanks as she handed him the sandwiches. He felt a welcoming happiness emanate from the woman, and he tried to send back a feeling of gratefulness. Try as he might, he couldn't keep a trickle of attraction from escaping his person. Her smile turned a little more devilish, and Raph'e quickly looked to his sandwiches, feeling a slight blush redden his cheeks.
Once he had ate he looked over the map, noting where the reactor room was. Rushing to the speeder, the mechanic scooped up four fuel cells, making his way to where his new employer now was.
In a moment he had found the spot. Increasing speed, he shuffled up to Fixer. "Where do I put them?"
(Sorry for taking so long! lol and sorry for hte bad writing, I kinda rushed it lol)

Fixer grunted his acknowledgement, and continued his work with his arc welder. Little sparks spat hot metal bits out and away from the cracked power coupling he was working on.
"Just lay them over by the other ones over there. See the ones over by the control console?" He said over the crackle and fizz of his welder.
The room was laid out in a large square with the cylindrical reactor core trailing back into where the engine systems would have been. Each of the fuel transfers had been removed and four empty gapeing holes sat vacant leading only 'the force' knows where.
The power core was mainly intact, a huge boon to their attempt at fixing the power transfers.
"Once your done laying those out, there is a busted relay cap around here somewhere. I saw it on the ships readout a few days ago when I jury rigged the diagnostic console with an old energy cell."

He turned to as Fixer spoke, sighting the control console and the other cells. Walking over, he set his cells beside the others.
He turned again to Fixer, who was already giving him his next task. "A Relay Cap? Do you know where exactly?" Raph'e began searching about the room, searching for the broken piece of equipment. Where could it be?
Looking back at the Control Console, he began a close examination. "Nevermind, I got it." He said as he found the Cap, attached to the control console. Quickly he set about remove the cap, prying it open and setting it gingerly upon the ground.
He went to work on the cap, reconnecting the broken feeds and wires. Once finished, he replaced the connection to the power core and placed the cap back on, taking a welder and melting it into place. Standing, he observed his handiwork critically. "Looks good. What else is wrong with this room?"

Fixer finished the last of the welding on the reactor core and stepped back from the hot weld. He looked back at Raph'e who had finished the work on the relay cap, and had replaced the repaired unit.
"You know how to get the reactor Core going I assume. Go ahead and get things going with those fuel cells and we'll rev her up and see if this old hunk of scrap can do." Fixer looked over Raph'e's work with an attentive eye, and touched over some of the wires to be sure they were connected tight. It all looked satisfactory. In fact, Raph'e seemed very capable in all endevors Fixer had thrown at him.
With a satisfied expression Fixer picked up a couple fuel cells and carried them over to the reactor.

Raph'e nodded as the man spoke. "All right, sounds good." He turned to the pile of fuel cells, taking all that he could carry and stepping towards the reactor core. It was a very old model. Everything was quite old in the place, antique, even. The ship had to be at least three hundred years old. He had never been trained to the mechanics of a ship of that era.
But that was no matter. The technology wasn't advanced or complicated, and, he thought with a smile, it simply made the job more fun and challenging.
Glancing back, he caught Fixer inspecting his handiwork. His stomach fell. Had he forgotten something? Had he perhaps messed up somehow? He stood frozen for a moment, watching Fixer look over his job. Finally, the man looked satisfied with the work, turning to the fuel cells. Raph'e sighed with relief. He was safe.
He turned back to the reactor, keying a switch and kneeling as the fuel chamber opened. One by one he began slipping the fuel cells into their slots, placing all of his and then the ones brought by Fixer. Once everything looked all right he stood, closing the panel. "There we go. We're all set. You can start it whenever you want."

Fixer stood back from the Reactor and wandered over to the control panel. He started it up useing the rigged fuel cell he had attached to its auxillery power unit.
"Would you hook up a data pad to the readout port on the reactor so we can record the data on this please Raph'e? That way if this goes sour on us we can figure out what went wrong."
Fixer's finger guided two of the power input guides into place smoothly, and flipped several of the safety switches. An electric hum emminated from the fuel cells as the surge spread from one fuel cell to the next. A couple of power locks engaged and the moment was upon them.
Fixers fingers hovered over the final power input guide. He licked his lips eagerly, hopeing that the reactor worked.

Fixers finger pressed down the ignition button. A loud crack was heard from within the rector core as the fuel cells fired simultaniously. A loud whine began to fill the room, growing in intensity as the rector began its first cycle since the crash that had crippled it years ago. Electrical sparks blasted throughout what was left of the ship, and a garbled computers voice echoed over the loud speaker, cut across sharply by the sound of the master alarm.
Fixer pulled out his comlink and yelled into it.
"RIBBER!! TURN OFF THE ALARM!! RIBBER ARE YOU PICKING ME UP!!!" But Fixers last word was all too loud in the silence it suddenly filled. "Good work Ribber. Thanks" Fixer began doing a readout of the reactor core as he nibbled at the remains of his sandwich. He pointed outa couple discrepencies in the power output to Raph'e while he made small calibrations. After each of the reactors calibrations had been made the reactor quietted down alot.
The large cylindrical reactor now hummed softly, like an Ewok to its wooklings. "Well thats looking good." Fixer said aloud. "You hungry? This is cause for celibration. I say we head into Town tonight after we lock up. Get us some Nerf!" Fixer said as he picked up his comlink again. "Hey Ribber you there?" he said while typeing out an energy priority into the reactors AI. "Tap your comlink if your there." he said. A second later two successive beeps were heard over the comlink. "We're heading into town tonight go ahead and lock up out there and get cleaned up."
A delighted laugh was heard over the comlink and Fixer smiled. He smiled at Raph'e and put down the comlink. "Lets finish up and head out to the hangar to do a few electrical checks. There is a secondary bridge terminal on A deck of the ship. We should be able to get there now with the lifts powered up. I have to say if I ever look at another access shaft again I might as well just blast myself." Fixer said with a tone indignant of frustrating work. Yet a small smile belied his good mood.

"Sure thing." Raph'e said, taking a datapad and hooking it up to the reactor. He crouched next to the hook-up port, watching the pad closely as the whole process began. He jumped as the alarm began sounding, fearing something had gone wrong with their repairs. But soon Ribber had died it down, and all the readouts seemed fine.
Raph'e stood, unplugging the datapad, the recordings all complete. He grinned as Fixer suggested celebration. "Hell yeah! I'd love to get out and try the local cuisine, maybe meet a few people."
He nodded as Fixer described their destination. "Sounds good, let's get going." He walked out into the now lighted corridor, heading for where he believed the A level might be, judging from the lay of the ship. He wanted to get the job done and get out on the town for some fun, and maybe get to know Ribber a little better.
He smiled as he continued down the corridor, hoping he knew where he was going.
