Fixer, almost went into his office. The paper work did not appeal to him. He looked down the hallway to the port side of the ship, and thought. "Ahh hell with it." Fixer mumbled to himself and turned down the hallway to help Raph'e with his work. He knew the man didnt need it, but sometimes a helping hand made thing smoother.
His boots made their slow plinking way down the dimly lit hallway, until he found where Raph'e had openned up the panel. "Having fun?" He said as he picked up the Datapad that Raph'e had hooked up to the systems. "The paper work wasn't appealing. I'd rather get to C deck, and then eat, than do paper work." He said with a grin. After a moment of looking at the readout Fixer scratched his chin. "Yeah, you werent kidding. This looks bad. I think the ship, would have just shut down like it did last time, but it would have shorted out more systems. Systems we've restored, and that would have just made our day." Fixer chuckled.
"Looks like, we have some shorts. Junction A, B, G and T. Where were those routed to?" Fixer mumbled to himself. "Weapons, and Engines... must have been one hell of a fight." Fixer brought up the schematic on the Data Screen.
Quietly he set down the Data Pad and took the farthest short from where Raph'e was working and began to repair it.

(Hey, btw, I'm gonna try to make Raph'e a little more like a lower-middle class kind of guy, which means not to think I'm an idiot because a lot of words in his speech are misspelled, I'm just writing it out how he would say it.)
He looked over his shoulder as Fixer arrived. "Hey, glad to have ya here." He listened as Fixer spoke about the read-outs. "You think it would have all shut down? I wasn't aware that all the fail-safes were back on-line. You know, I think I'll check that after lunch. I don't want to be without them if there comes a time when one of us doesn't catch something like that."
Turning back to the panel, Raph'e resumed work. Absentmindedly he began to talk. "How's the new guy been doin? What he like?"
He was silent for a moment, but then quickly piped up again. A thought had come to his mind. "Sorry to change the subject before the conversation has even started, but I was thinking about something. Remember the two guys I talked with on our way outta the resteraunt last night? They were pilots. They were telling me about the reservist Ord Mantell Starfighter Defense Corps. You sign up, you go to the base and fly around each weekend, get a nice little paycheck, and even get to keep the fighter they give ya to practice on your own time. You can even modify it and such, 's long as you don't make a lot of noise of it. They also fly in the local airshow on weekdays in the evening after work. You get to fly around and do tricks, and get another nice little paycheck each month. What do you think? I'd still be here full-time on weekdays, of course."

((Nah, it gives the character flavor. I knew a guy once who used a sort of "Cogny" spelling of words to give him an uneducated feeling. Worked damn good.))
"Checking the Fail safe switches is a great idea." Fixer said as he broke the arc on his fusion cutter, and flipped up his goggles to look at the weld. After a moments inspection he continued.
He listenned to the fusion cutter to be sure the weld was working correctly. "How's the new guy been doin? What he like?" Raph'e said to him, as he was repairing his section of conduit. "Sorry to change the subject before the conversation has even started, but I was thinking about something."
Fixer made a small groan to let Raph'e he was listenning to him.
"Remember the two guys I talked with on our way outta the resteraunt last night? They were pilots. They were telling me about the reservist Ord Mantell Starfighter Defense Corps. You sign up, you go to the base and fly around each weekend, get a nice little paycheck, and even get to keep the fighter they give ya to practice on your own time. You get to fly around and do tricks, and get another nice little paycheck each month. What do you think? I'd still be here full-time on weekdays, of course." Raphe said, as fixer watched him check the conduit.
After a moment he put his attentions back to his work and responded. "Well that sounds like a good idea to me. Its funny actually that you mention that you want to join up. I was considering building a ship so we could enter in the Asteroid Derby, out of Ohm Station... Ya know the big space station you probably got off at before landing?" Fixer continued after a moments weld inspection. "Well, they have a bi-yearly raceing derby up there in the spring when the skies change, and then again in the fall when they change back. I think you working for the reserves is a great idea. That and you can spread the word around over there with the melitia boys. You'll get some practice in the seat of a fighter. Hone yourself up for the derby." He pulled his fusion cutter away from the conduit a moment and scratched at the now cool weldment with his gloved hand. "That is assuming you'd want to do it. I'd love to sponsor you for the race. It is a bit dangerous, as you could guess. The main track actually weaves through the asteroid field." Fixer hung his fusion cutter on his utility belt and pulled out a hydro-spanner to adjust the panelling nuts.

He turned at Fixer's comments. A derby race? And Fixer would sponsor him? He nearly jumped in delight. Piloting was one of the things he loved most. His father had never encouraged him to fly before, they had never had the money. To have someone supporting his ideas and even furthering them was... alien. "That... that sounds great. I... thank you. It would be amazing. Of course I'd love to do it. I don't mind the danger, just makes it even more excitin', ya know?"
He continued working on the panel, reconnecting a broken lead. "With two people I think we'll be done real quick. If we work fast, we'll still have twenty minutes to work on C Deck. We can get that done too if we hurry."
He grinned in triumph as he finished with the lead. Things were going perfectly here on Ord Mantell: He had a job, he had a girl, and he had a future.
Perhaps coming here has been the best decision in my life.

((Do they even know he is a cyborg? And how about that map you promised?))
Jorek had just gotten done getting all of his stuff moved into the navigators quarters, which had arrived shortly after he had gotten done with Fixers project.
He was walking down through the hallways and saw them talking. At the same time, in what would seem a world away a slight impulse in his head told him something had just happened: New delivery - food product. Jorek straightened out in front of the two co-workers, looked at the other worker he had not yet seen and extended a hand out towards him with a slightly robotic posture and motion. "Hey guys. Food is here. You must be App. I'm Jorek, self-taught computer code engineer and analyst. I guess I am here to help out with most of the systems, but I also have experience with anything to do with anything you can take apart." Jorek said, with a half smile at his new accomplice.

((OK, one, we don't know he's a cyborg. I mean all your stuff is internal isnt it? Covered with synth skin? I mean hell this is about 10,000 years after rogaine so you'd think things are pretty advanced. Two, My characters name is Fixer, Ardonators is Raph'e, and Fixer has called him App, in front of you this whole time so it would seem odd you'd call him by his real name... Yeah I'm a snobby jerk, hope you forgive me.))
Fixer had been listenning intently to Raph'e while he responded. Just then Jorek walked up and told them that food was on its way.
"Gah! Ahh hell with it, we can get to C deck after lunch." Fixer moved over to the next break in the conduit and started at it so they could at least finish this problem before they ate. He waited quietly for the two guys to get aquanted while he worked, but kept an ear on their conversation.

(Calm down dudes, no need to freak out about it all, they're just little things. btw I'm going to assume the cybernetic implants have external parts, correct me if I'm wrong.)
Raph'e turned to the newcomer, eyeing his new coworker as he approached. He seemed a little stiff; robotic, even. The mechanic noticed what seemed to be cybernetic implants along the crown of his head. Made sense. Cyborgs made good programmers and analysts. He took Joreks proferred hand, shaking it briskly. "Nice ta meet ya. It's good to have ya with us."
His stomach growled. "So, food's here? Well, I guess you and Ribber can get things ready, and we'll be along as soon as this little issue is fixed up. If that's all right with Fixer, of course." He turned to Fixer, looking for approval.

Fixer heard what sounded like a Gurrcat inside Raph'e's belly. It kinda scared him a little.
"Yeah food sounds good. Lets get this conduit finished and we'll meet up with you out in the Hangar Jorek." Fixer nodded at the two of them and refocussed his work on the conduit.

Jorek walked away from them without another word towards the Hangar and Ribber. Although he was an android he still needed food. He rounded another corner and he was there, spotting a small table for him to sit at.
He sat there quietly waiting for everyone to show up so they could all have their first meal and greetings towards each other and he realized something; everything was quiet. Utterly quiet, even his connections to various networks were for the most part silent. For the first time in five years he was able to completely focus his mind on one thing. It was an overwhelmingly strange feeling. Even when he closed his eyes there were no strange colors, no flashing lights, strange sensations, or even a bad feeling. He heard the ship, creaking and all the various systems at work, creating a low hum and the sound of voices coming from Fixer and App. In another second it was all gone again, back to the crazy lights, strange feelings and colors.
"What in the hell was that?"[/i]

Raph'e turned back to his work as the Cyborg stalked off. Sparks flew as he applied his Arc-welder. After a moment, he spoke again. "Little bland, ain't he?" He continued at his work, rconnecting cables and leads, replacing circuit parts, welding pieces back into place, and rebolting the whole system.
Soon, the work on his side was done. "Well, that's all it over here. How's things lookin' over there?"
(sorry, no creativity this week lol)

Fixer withdrew his fusion cutter, and inspected his weld. He picked up the data pad and switched the system on, and the conduit spat sparks for a moment, as bits of slag, or excess weld was thrown away. Suddenly all the lights on B Deck lit up bright, like the ship was somewhere in space. Fixer grinned at Raph'e as his eyes adjusted. Then... he realized just how filthy the ship was. He looked at the plasteel walls, and noticed all the carbon scoreing, the scratches, the mars, the divets and dents.
He sighed, as the two inspected the fruits of their labor. "Functionality first." Fixer said as he hung his fusion cutter.
"I don't mind bland." Fixer said as he waited for Raph'e to catch up to him as he walked on toward the hangar. "Bland can mean stability, and we need all o' that we can get these days." He grumbled softly as he nibbled at his lower lip.
He watched all the lighting fixtures as they walked triumphantly out into the Hangar. It was a good feeling. Fixer was so excited. It was like the ship was moveing back to where it needed to be, minus the front section of the ship.

(allright man, starting after this post, my activity is going to be kinda spotty. I'm going to go through all five character bios and make them pwnage. So I may not be very active this next week.)
He grinned as the B Deck lights went on again. That was good. If the lights were up to full, then that meant everything else was, as well. Although there were still quite a few things broken or messed up on B. Raph'e had made it his personal mission to make one whole deck perfect, and B had been the Deck he had chose.
Looking around the newly-lit corridor as he caught up to Fixer, he noticed the dirtyness of the place. It was filthy. "You know, by the time I get B back up to Optimum, I'll probably have enough money from flying and such to buy us a cleaning/repair droid. We could use it to make this place look brand-new again."
He grinned as they made it back to the hangar. He loved this place, and he loved his job. It really felt like he was doing something, getting things done. It felt good; real good.
Looking over, he found Ribber and Jorek at a table, the newly arrived food adorning its steel surface. Taking a seat next to Ribber, Raph'e began digging in.
(I also promise that I'll put more effort into my posts when I'm done with my bios lol)

Jorek ate very mechanically. Fork. Chew. Pause. Fork. Chew. Every now and then he glanced up at the rest of his new roommates, some were glancing at him. It was slightly awkward and at the beginning he was very self conscious about it but eventually he learned to ignored it. He just kept on eating.
"So. What is everyones story anyway? If you don't want to share it that's alright. Crazy antisocial mechanics all working together, while at the same time avoiding each other." Jorek said while he craced a half smile at the dinner guests.
"If you want I'll even go first."

Raph'e looked up from his food at Ribber, sending the Zeltron a smile. She grinned in return, and instantly he felt a rush of loving emotions. The mechanics head swam. It was almost like a drug. Leaning over, he gave Ribber a small kiss. Turning, he began observing the cyborg. If a droid could eat, Raph'e hypothesized that it would eat like that. the guy was like... a robot. He didn't seem to Raph'e like the social type at all. That's why he was surprised when the new hire suddenly spoke, asking for a round of stories. Smiling, Raph'e took up his offer. "Sure, go ahead." (Hey, since the Dantooine plot experienced a time leap, should we do one too? I think it would fit the continuity well. And besides, I'd like Raph'e to have his L-wing before the Mando's attack )

((I think I may have miswritten somewhere. The Mando's are perched over Concord dawn, not Ord Mantel... I get to find it now don't I? LOL I deserve it. )) Fixer almost spat out his drink at Joreks statement. He choked on it instead and laughed/coughed for a moment before taking a another sip to assure his throat that he was not trying to drown it. He heaved a slow sigh reminicent of air being let out of a Bespin air-bladder. "Well you asked, its only fair somone else bites into that question." Fixer took a small bite of his sandwich with a crunch, chewed, then gulpped it down. "I used to work for Merson Munitions over bright center'way. It was a good job, then there was an accident." Fixers eyes seemed to glaze over a moment before he blinked back to reality. He smiled at Jorek. "No criminal charges filed fortunately, but it more or less kept me from working for any of the other big companies out there. Did quite a bit of work for Merson." Fixer took another bite of his sandwich, which left the tiniest bit of sauce around his stubbly mouth, which he quickly licked off. "I went on the road for a while, wandered from place to place. Got a little tangled up with some hutts on Clatooine. Thats where I met Ribber." Ribber smiled at the mention of her name and seemed to blush slightly. Fixer smiled at her in memory. "I managed to get us out of it, at quite a bit of expense. I lost just about everything I had left, aside from a little Frieghter I used to cart around the galaxy in." Fixer took a sip of his drink and continued. "Well, we landed here, and we needed food, and money so I got involved with the local scrap yards. Managed to get a license to salvage downed ships after a few years of hard work, and then me and Ribber found this place before Republic Intelligence managed to. Was quite a windfall I have to admit." Fixer looked up at the hangar for a moment and smiled. "Well, there was this dispute over the ship right? Basically the "Rep." didn't want a vessel like this in the hands of a civilian. So, we compromised. I allowed them to strip it of everything and anything that was not civilian aquireable. That'd be weapons, some parts of navigation. I raised quite a fuss when they tried to steal away with the Sensor suite in this old dog." Fixer laid back in his chair. He gripped his sandwich, almost like it were an official document... with bites taken out of it. "Thats when I started doing work out of the place. Sold my frieghter, and bought the equipment necessary to outfit and repair ships. Things worked out good. The Republic Ordinance Base near here is understaffed so I have had quite a bit of spill over business that I take care of for them on discount." Fixer grinned at the thoughts that seemed to be cavorting through his head. "You should see some of the ships I've worked on. App over here got to dig around in an Aurek fighter they sent to us." Fixer took another small bite of his sandwich in thought. When he had swallowed his mouthfull he spoke again. "I suppose thats about it for me. Unless you want me to bore you with stories of my childhood, my mom and pop, or the family dog. Speaking of. PINEY!" Fixer yelled for the slice hound which bounded over, his claws clacking against the metal floor of the hangar. He scratched behind the bony dogs ears. The dog groaned, happy for the attention.

Jorek stared at the canine companion for a second. "Right, well as I explained earlier I am self taught, I grew up on Aurea and as a child I spent alot of my time around technology and craftspeople of all kinds. Around when I was 15 I got involved in a little band of slicers, in which we shared secrets for all sorts of things. It all ended after like 5 years, one of them was kileld and the rest were imprisoned. I a few of the ones that were not caught. Lucky for me there was no bounty offered on me. Then about 2 years after that I decided to get a cybernetic implant. So far that's just about all I have done with my life. Before I came here I worked at a refueling asteroid near Galand." Jorek explained, then went back to mechanically eating his food, and listening.

Raph'e listened intently as Fixer told his story. It wasn't incredibly detailed, but it was still interesting. He hadn't heard much about Fixer's past. Anything he could glean was welcome.
Next up was Jorek. His story was quite simple, not a whole lot out of the ordinary. "Why did you get a cybernetic implant?" he asked once the cyborg was finished with his tale. Becoming a cyborg wasn't exactly an easy decision. Raph'e was sure that he wouldn't be able to do it. Maybe a small implant for memory/IQ/reflex augmentation, but nothing on such a grand scale. It seemed to... change people. Jorek acted like a droid almost as much as he acted human. It was strange, to say the least.
Sighing, he looked up. "My turn, I guess." Steeling himself, he began. "Well, I grew up on Coruscant, in a middle class family. Nothing special. I loved piloting and mechanics. My parents wanted me to go into the more stable field, though, and so I attended college for mechanics and mechanical/aerospace engineering. I got a degree and started working for a big facility on Nubia. Wages got slashed after a while, so I left and went to the dry docks on Commenor. Long story short, I became head engineer of an entire docking section. After a while I only served the richest and most important customers."
He hesitated; this was the bad part. "A rich merchant came in for repairs. It was pretty routine: the connection between the power core and hyperdrive was broken. I had it fixed and looked it over myself, as always, but I must have missed something. I don't even know what caused it, but when the merchant and his crew fired her up she just... just exploded."
He sighed, looking down at his plate. "A dozen people died, including the merchant. Their family sued me and the company. I lost my job, my home, my possessions... everything. Even better, the publicity assured that I could never get a job coreward of the Inner Rim. All I had was enough cash for a ticket to here, Ord Mantell, and here I am. That's my story."
He didn't look up. Instead he concentrated on his food, eating in quick gulps. The story wasn't exactly his favorite, not by a long shot...

He looked over as App told his story. He half zoned out for a brief second into the world of networks, then back again. "Great Republic. You guys have had it rough. But I got the cyborg upgrade because I loved technology, and I felt like I was not getting enough of a broader view of Galactic affairs. Besides being such a thing that has alienated me from most people, it has also helped me as well. I am able to view multiple channels at once, while still absorbing all the information in them and control computer systems mentally. I was luckily one of the few people who was not affected by Cyborg Psychosis. Although you might argue I act like a droid. I don't see a problem in that." Jorek paused for a moment. "It is how I arranged for all of my personal affects to be moved in, and how I ordered this meal for us all without touching a terminal. Strange though, before we sat down, all the channels went almost completely silent, and it was like I didn't have it for a brief amount of time." He continued robotically.
"I believe it is Ribbers turn to share her story?"

Fixer watched as Ribber's smile turned to a frown, she transmitted an uncomfortable feeling of regret ((Everyone will feel that)). Fixer always hated seeing her like this. Feeling her desperation he cut in.
"Ribber, has had a rough time of things. I met her while I was working for the hutts. She got tossed out with the trash, I was on my way out so I picked her up and took her with me. She's a good friend." Fixer seemed sullen and retrospective. To prevent him speaking again he took a huge bite of his sandwich, and munched on it.

Raph'e felt a wave of regret wash over him, and he instantly knew it was Ribber. He squeezed her hand and sent her reassuring feelings as Fixer spoke, a meek smile on his face. He sent her a similarly half-hearted smile in return. The feeling seemed to lesson, if only slightly. He looked across the table. A weird silence seemed to descend upon the table. awkward...
Clearing his throat, Raph'e took it upon himself to change the subject. "Tomorrow I'm gonna go sign on at the Ord Mantell reserve Starfighter Corps. base here. I'm also gonna try for that job at the air show. I'll have to take a few tests and stuff, but I'm sure I can ace them. After a month I can start keeping my Starfighter here. That'll be fun to get under the hood of, eh?"
