Iridonia is the rugged and harsh homeworld of the Zabrak, also commonly known as the Iridonians. This world was once a member of the Republic, having joined during the Mandalorian Wars.
However, after the Republic's failure to support the Zabrak cause during the Mandalorian crusade fifty years ago, the Iridonia Council has set up relations with a separate group: the Sith Empire. In exchange for funding and military support, the Sith offer the Iridonians a chance at glory and a rich new world to add to their colonies.
Iridonia and Kashyyyk both orbit the same sun, and are visible from one another. Kashyyyk has always been a rich and fertile world, whereas life on Iridonia has never been easy. For this reason, the Zabraks and the Wookiees never got along, and this hatred made the Sith offer for the Zabraks to take control of the Wookiee homeworld all the more tempting.
As of very recently, a small group of Zabrak mercenaries has moved into the region recently vacated by Czerka Corporation and not yet sold. They have squatter's rights, according to the Republic Laws, but they have already begun aggressions, and young Wookiees are already being warned to stay away from Zabrak Territory, or they might end up serving a Hutt somewhere.
