Brief Bio/History: Alastor was born into a wealthy, but not powerful family. His parents were both personally successful and enveloped in their respective professions. Alastor's mother was a respected manager one of the most affluent real estate agencies on Muunilist, while his father was a low level bureaucrat with minimal responsibilities within the Banking Clan. Alastor was well educated by private tutors, mostly in the areas of Galactic history, political science, and ancient philosophy as well as archaeology. Alastor continued to use his education as he progressed in the private sector. Alastor has been the sole recipient of multiple real-estate deals totaling in millions of credits. He has shared this new found wealth with a league of followers who handle all sorts of 'unofficial' businesses from smuggling rings to illegal gambling dens within Republic systems. Some have even accused Senator Abernathy of being the personal liaison to the Sith Empire, but Alastor has publicly denied such allegations. While a certain level of 'diplomatic' relations with the Sith Empire has been acknowledged, Abernathy insists this relationship is 'politically necessary' as Muunilist is considered the capital of the previous Sith Empire. However, Alastor Abernathy is more susceptible to allegations of being a mere gangster than a Sith agent.
In-Depth History: Alastor was born with a galactic silver-spoon in his mouth. His mother was a very successful real estate agent on multiple planets, especially Muunilist, where she and her husband, Darko, raised their son, Alastor. Darko soon became employed by the massive Banking Clan that occupied much of Muunilist. Darko was hired at an entry-level position and never really progressed the corporate ladder that seemed to favor the Muunilist natives, who seemed more trustworthy. Alastor's mother became a well known real estate agent. She became famous as the most successful female real-estate agent on Muunilist and it's surrounding systems. She began to make certain connections with less than credulous fellows, selling them fanciful locales, at extremely low rates. These purchases were often backed by loans by the Banking Clan, via Alastor's father, Darko who eventually moved up to the mediocre position of loan broker.
Karen and Darko continued to make connections that would lay the groundwork for Alastor's later 'criminal network'. After his father's passing, Alastor moved to the Capitol Planet Coruscant where he continued his education in political science, eventually graduating from a prestigious university. With this education and his previous connections, Alastor began to pick up his mother's work in the real estate business and continued to make connections with certain sinister figures.
By the age of 32, Alastor had many intergalactic gangster friends, with man connections. By then he had gained a moderate level of blaster-pistol experience and even had a close knit band of goons who did his daily bidding that supported his very 'unofficial' system of drug and slave smuggling as well as his extortion efforts on his home planet of Muunilist. Over the next 10 years, Alastor gained political power exponentially thru his illegal activities combined with his public charity contributions.
By the age of 40, Alastor had become the personal aid to the second Senator of Muunilist, where his professional political training took place. During this time of gilded peace, much of the Republic was still focused with its rebuilding efforts and it's welfare contributions to the lesser-developed systems and neglected systems of the previous Sith and Mandalorian Empires. During this perceived period of peace, Alastor began to meet with deep infiltrates of the Sith, and expanded his knowledge of inter-workings of the Sith and their philosophies.
Soon after his 48th birthday, Alastor's mother passed away, and subsequently her wealth and dominion passed down to her only son, Alastor. He made swift moves to maximizer his political and economic clout. Alastor became the wealthiest man on Muunilist, largely thanks to his mother's efforts and his personal connections throughout the political spectrum. He continued to make personal connections with aids to Senator's and Councilor's all around the Republic with his extremely personable charisma.
5 years later, at the age of 53, Alastor Nathaniel Abernathy was elected to the Galactic Senate as the First Senator of Muunilist. He quickly developed a reputation as an unpredictable politician who often supported radical legislation that aimed at 'shaking up' the current political situation. Much of his efforts lie in concealing his illegal pursuits, which funded all his ambitions. He continued and even expanded his smuggling efforts under his first tenure as a Galactic Senator, all while dodging investigations by the Senate's Internal Affairs, which often resulted in deceased detectives.
Currently Alastor Abernathy holds a prestigious position within the Galactic Empire, constantly trying to carve out a larger role for his native Muunilists and Banking Clan. No substantial charges have ever been filed on Alastor despite his seeming overt connections to infamously dubious fellows...
