The Story Behind: Devaron
One can travel the galaxy and never find a world quite like Devaron. It is a simple enough world, one of low mountains, deep valleys, and an intricate river system. The interesting thing about Devaron is that its people, the Devaronians, only trust their females to participate in the noble act of government. The only problem is, Devaronian females are far more rutheless than their males. Devaron is a world of strict capital punishment (usually dealt out by the massive Quarra beasts in the planet’s execution arenas) and a matriarchal bloodline government.
Devaron has been a member of the Galactic Republic for as long as anybody can remember. It’s capital city, Montellian Serat, nestled beneath the Blue Mountains, is as old as Galactic city, on Coruscant. The city is older than space travel on Devaron, and the Devaronians were among the first to discover space travel. It’s old. Walk the streets of the city, though, and you will find very little but the young women trusted in politics. In fact, outside of the smaller villages, one will have certain difficulty finding a male Devaronian. There has been some trouble on the planet. A group of Devaronian males have begun to demand their right to act in their government, and they held wide support throughout the planet. Many have been executed or driven from the cities, and most have simply left the planet entirely, which explains the rise in the number of Devaron males throughout the Inner rim nowadays.
The planet can not continue in this manner. If no government is secured, and no army maintained (The Devaronian army is made up of men, but the generals are all women), the planet could be up for grabs.
