How to fake deaths and lead people. /Moralist Crew

Jason moved through the crowd, his hair combed in an unusual fashion and dyed blonde, a hood and cloak tight around his body. Many people on nar Shaddaa moved with clothes, he was just another person who did not want to be readily identified, which, around here, was not a mark of suspicion. It might be a mark for thieves or pick-pockets, but as long as he didn't take any back-alleys he should be fine. Besides, he had the Force and he could fight off any thugs even without it, of that he was fairly certain.

He moved out of the crowd and toward a cantina he'd never heard of. He hadn't chosen the meeting place. His mission today was to meet up with a Ship captain named Nel'Liet. For a small-fee and a job as one of his crew-members, Captain Nel had agreed to help him fake his own death and free his family from the threat of the Exchange. With Jason dead, they would have no interest in his wife and child. His daughter was likely better off without the presence of the beast anyway.

The cantina was dark, with only the dull lights over most of the seats to give it light. That was good, but Jason hadn't been to a cantina this...ruddy, in quite a while. It didn't even have live entertainment, other than a few dancers. He shook his head with a grin, moving on.

He hadn't seen this Captain Nel yet, so he merely took a seat. Supposedly, Nel would stand out, but many things stood out here. He ruled out all of the non-humans, instead looking only for the humans around. There was a single human at the bar, ordering what looked like an unusually soft drink. Otherwise, most of the humans were keeping to themselves, except for one drunken man slurring and stumbling as he told a story to his friends.

So far, Jason could not yet narrow it down.

The Echani woman slid into the cantina with a grin. "Drinks on me!" She called out through the bar. She had just finished up a tough job, but it had payed amazingly, and she was feeling both great and generous. As the crowd cheered she sat down at the bar, though ordered something light for herself and slid over a large handful of credits to the bartender to cover the round of drinks.

Sipping from her own drink, she checked the nutrient pad on her back. The furry little creature inside was sound asleep. She smiled at it, then slid it back around to her back and out of sight. He had been with her for years now, and almost never went anywhere without him.

As her eyes scanned the cantina, her eyes fell upon the blond man. She smiled at him from behind her drink, thinking he was kind of cute. Getting up from her seat she walked over to him and sat beside him. "So, what brings you here tonight?"

Neliet had observed the crowds and noted the man who was clearly disguising himself. He probably meant trouble, or somthing along those lines. People didn't usually want to stand out in Nar Shaddaa but if you were making an effort to conceal yourself then trouble was certainly to follow. An trouble, as it seemed, was rife in Nar Shaddaa and of course around Nel'liet's general map reference.

No sooner had these thoughts of trouble entered his mind that a fairly (genuinly) pretty looking girl of pale colour-scheme waltzed into the bar and bought a round of drinks for everyone. Rather loudly. This not only riled his original plans slightly but also meant that the bar was now bustling with activity, acitivity being one of those things Nel finds most annoying.

He glanced over at the woman who had disturbed the peace and she seemed to return the favour. She was now walking towards him. Why was she walking towards him? Had he offended her with his gaze? She looked armed. She had an odd look in her eyes too, predatory almost. She was going to hurt him, he knew it. He tried to not look at her as she advanced. Where was Ryver/Taym when you needed 'em?

Doing his best to look visually stoic (somthing he was exceptionally good at, coincidentally) He managed not to flinch when she spoke.

Flase alarm?

She didn't appear to want to hurt him, which was good. But that line? Was she the pilot who'd just misinterperated the advert? But how would that explain how she homed in on him being the captain. In fact, her question seemed almost like a... sexual advance?

'Don't flatter yourself, you yoctogram...' said a sarcastic little voice at the back of his head. Was his self-esteem really that low as to dismiss any female form of interest towards...

It was then Nel'liet realised ever other cell in his brain was screaming 'ANSWER THE GORRAM QUESTION!'

'Uh, just drinking myself to death like any other man.' He chimed smoothly, doing his best to appear uninteresting and cold. He also did his best to hide the luminescent pink coctail he'd ordered earlier, but the bartender had slid another one towards him, thanks to her bright idea of getting everyone an extra drink.


Ah, Nar Shaddaa

[Immediatley after the concluding events of And Ask Questions later...]

Rogarr walked from the hangar, his fighter looking like a golden arrow as it sat on it's landing struts, if it was possible it looked even more exposed an naked than when he'd first spotted the landing pad. He'd paid for extra security since his fighter was probably the most well maintained and expensive craft, based on the look of the other craft that were docked, to grace their dung heap of an establishment. Not that it did much to console his nerves.
He walked away from his fighter, worried momentarily that the security programs on his fighter wouldn't enough. This was his first time on Nar Shaddaa and already he could tell, this was not the kind of place that he'd want to be stranded on. As he walked away from the landing pad, he saw all sorts of characters line the hallway that led to the main plaza. Beggers, theives, the homeless, muscle for various unruly organizations, bounty hunters and possibly hired mercs like himself and quite possibly hired assassins. He even spotted various individuals who could and probably were dancers, hookers, druggies, or possibly high priced public slaves.

He kept his hand on his blaster just in case as he walked toward a near by lift. Once he'd concluded his business with Pak and their mutual employer, he'd headed back to his fighter. Once he'd jumped into the cockpit his AI, "Vera" had informed him of a job offer on the holonet. A Captain Nel'Liet was looking for a pilot and a crew. He'd thought at the time that he might as well check it out. He was starting to wonder if maybe he'd made the wrong choice now. He entered the lift and pressed the appropriate level, and slowly the lift began to decend into Nar Shaddaa's depths. Grateful that the turbo lifts seemed to be kept in good condition, Rogarr stepped off the lift and walked to the small bar that had been indicated in the advertisement.

Rogarr stepped toward the door to the dingy cantina, and the door whooshed open a second later. The canitina's inside looked about as dingy as the outside, and the lighting was low, just enough to indicate where the chairs were. Rogarr stepped through the doorway and let his eyes adjust, before making his way in further. Just then someone, a woman by the sound of the voice, shouted rather loudly that everyone's drinks were on her. Rogarr's eyes searched the room for possible threats and found quite a few of them. Still keeping his hand on his blaster he made his way to the open end of the bar, which was the very end. When the bartender looked his way, Rogarr waved his hands to get his attention and ordered, a little loudly so as to be heard over the excited crowd, a Johrian Whiskey like had been outlined in the advertisement.

Now to just sit and wait for this Captain Nel'Liet to show himself in the midst of all these cut throats. Yeah, this is gonna be interesting Rogarr thought as the bartender made his drink.

Jason leaned back in the booth he sat on, taking a deep breath. He had just gotten settled down when there was a loud feminine voice claiming to be buying drinks for everyone. By the sound of the bustling activities and cheers, she was suddenly much more popular, and must have quite a lot of money. A bar wench dropped a drink off at Jason's table, and he smirked, thanking her and returning attention to the two people of interest.

As it turned out, the woman who'd bought all of the drinks started heading over to who he suspected was captain Nel'liet. Jason took a big swig of his drink, then rose from his seat, crossing the bar over to the man. If it -was- who he was looking for, then he didn't want him preoccupied all night with this woman. As he approached, he removed the hood from his head, revealing an awkward smile and hoping nobody recognized him.

Instead of immediately interupting the conversation, he took a seat next to them and ordered a very heavy liquor.

Nel'liet's mind was all flustered. He'd chosen this loacation because it was his favorite, all because it was generally very quite and nobody ever picked fights here on account of the very large gun the bartenders kept hidden beneath the counters. So far he was alone (save for the attractive young woman sitting beside him) in a bar that was clearly too busy to make any sense of the words being exchanged nor the patrons movements.

He closed his eyes for a second and tried to regain some form of mental sanctuary, counting in his head the number of times he'd been in worse situations.
I mean, there was nothing bad about the situation he was in, it was just going to make things difficult. And difficult was stressful, even more so then even sitting in Nar Shaddaa let alone one of its seediest bars.

Then, inevitabley, he caught the magic words. Rather then dealing with the situation cooley like he had when the woman had approached him he decided that this was a chance he could not afford to miss.

Jumping up on his bar stool and nimbly twirling it around beneath his feet he raised his neon coctail glass and proclaimed (with the sort of charisma and deliverance of your average rock star but with all the confidence of a selkath in a desert.) somthing along the lines of:

''Another round of drinks on me!''

Descending from his pose upon the barstool he breathed deeply and turned back to the pretty lady.

''Sorry, just a business call, I'm Nel'leit. A pleasure to meet you.'' Nel Smiled and internally groaned.


Ugh, Nar Shaddaa...

She let out a playful chuckle as she watched him, returning the smile. "The pleasure's all mine. I'm Daeira, and thanks for the drink." She sipped from her drink, flashing another white smile.

Out of her peripherals she observed the hooded man. Something about him seemed strange. One hand reached back to make sure her nutrient container was still there. The furry little creature inside had saved her butt more times then she can remember, and in this galaxy, she never knew when she might come across some Miraluka out to kill her, or some crazy buffoon with a lightsaber shooting lightning at her.

She finished the drink she had purchased and started on the second one that the man had gotten her. "So what kind of business you trying to conduct by purchasing drinks for everyone?" Her head tilted to the side in a quizzical manner, oddly curious.

The 'waiting game' is what Je'Baru had called it when they were with him and now they were playing it too. They had taken a job of bar tending at the point of incursion of the meet. Having uploaded a mixer program into themselves. They passed themselves off as a white laced fem-bot. With no discernible features to be viewed other then their smallish cleavage and their highly polished body.

Ryver was very surprised that their captain did not notice them but there they were serving up drinks, while Taym monitored the security feeds and kept a visual sensor on him. Taym alerted Ryver of a break in the plan as a female ordered a drink for all. Ryver did not want this not because it blew the plan but the patrons were getting a little @$$-grabby with them. Ryver watched the female moves and speech patterns for emanate threat. Which did not come.

Just as Ryver and Taym were settling things their target came in and started the incursion as planned. The target was one they had already met on a past time and now they were seemly on the same side of things now. Before they could get back to work. They were ordered to go to the center of the bar and tend the massing crowd for they were by far the faster of the bartenders.

This proved both positive and a negative. Positive in that now they were closer and negaitve...... they were closer. Not doing so would bring attention to themselves. So over they went and started to mix drinks right under their noses. They hoped the captain would not see or recognize them or just play it off. Anything would blow the deal and Ryver did not want to start a bar fight with-out their M-61's. The last fight was long and messy with out them.

Rogarr grabbed his Johrian Whiskey and turned, acting as if to watch the dancers in the background, not that he could even see them. Right on cue, someone raised their glass and offered another round of drinks, which the waiters and waitresses brought out in a hurry, one of them being a well constructed droid that put the other servers to shame. When the droid came up to deliver his second drink Rogarr recognized the type easily. A custom made combat model, probably for assassinations based upon how smoothe it's movements and craftsmanship are Rogarr thought his eyes widening as he recognized the original model. Unlike many pilots, Rogarr had grown up on a space station near Amara, the Amaran homeworld. There he'd helped his parents out repairing the station, the droids, machines and spaceships that came into and out of the station. He'd come across this particular model before but, it hadn't been constructed for combat, it had in fact been a slicer or hacker, that had been damaged on some planet that Rogarr didn't remember. Needless to say his parents had been hired to fix it and he'd helped.

Rogarr grabbed the drinks and made his way over to the table of the being that had bought the second round. On his way there he stumbled into someone and "accidently" spilled the drink the droid had given him. He wasn't taking any chances. After apologizing perfusely and paying for the man's next drink, Rogarr resumed his trek for the Captain's table. He reached it just in time to miss the woman's question and pulled a seat over, sat down in it and joined the quartet of strangers sitting around it. "I hear you're looking for a pilot. My name's Rogarr Clawfere, and I'm here to offer my services" Rogarr leaned forward in his seat a little so he could be easily understood without having to raise his voice alot. He looked at the four individuals seated around the table and then said "So, who here is Captain Ne'liet?"

Nel'liet breathed deeply as he tried to ward of the tiny nerved feeling in his head as the bar went slightly madder at the next round of free drinks. A furry individual made his way towards his table and announced his name and desire to be the pilot of his crew. To this, Nel breathed a hearty sigh of relief.

'I'm Nel'. He said, leaning towards the man to shake his hand. 'This here is the lovely Daeira, so I'm told.' He added, gesturing towards her with a swift tilt of his head that was quick enough to make his neck audibly click enough to be heard over the noise. It sounded painful but it had been stiff for a while, so he was glad.

He just caught the figure of the man sitting next to him. He seemed mighty familiar. Perhaps just a funny sense of deja vu, you get that during inter-stellar travel.

Pulling back from the handshake he went into monologue mode.
'The boat we'll be flying is a converted delaya-class courier. As you know they're big but fast.' He emphasised the use of the word 'fast', adding a smile as he said it. If he were a pilot that'd be a selling point.
'She's not armed badly, replaced the torpedos with heavy blasters and she still has the rotating laser cannons, good for shooting front or back.' He leaned back slightly, sitting comfortably. He brought his legs up to his chest and hugged them with one of his arms, looking at the pilot with a curious intensity. He reminded himself to blink, since staring was apperently unsettling.

'I can tell you everything else about the ship when we're on it, but for now I'm hoping to gather up a few crew members.' He stared off into space, with a face so comically exaggerating the notion of deep thinking he seemed to be trying to read a persons mind.

'I wonder.' Nel said, with a sudden conviction and startling speed. 'Does Daeira like fast ships?' He asked, rudely almost considdering that she was sitting right next to him.

One would wonder why he would take complete strangers on a trip across the galaxy with him. It was mad, especially in Nar Shaddaa, but Nel'leit had a very twisted sense of fun. He would be just as eager to take a sith lord on board if it meant there would be some adventure.

He reminded himself to blink again as he looked at Daeira for her response, automatically assuming that the potential Pilot had accepted his offer. Well, if he hadn't why would he be here?

Once the Captain introduced himself, things got a little easier. Rogarr's fuzzy eyefrows raised at the mention of the Captains ship Delaya class courier eh? That's a nice ship, and they're pretty hardy things if they're kept in good condition. I wonder if it has enough cargo space for my fighter. There's no way I'm selling that thing! Rogarr thought as Captain Nel introduced the female at the table. Rogarr reflexively looked to her and nodded his welcome to her, his mind focusing on the ship's armament and commiting the information to memory.

Rotating lazer cannons! Now those I've got to try! Why didn't I think about equipping my fighter with those? That would've cut down alot of fuel that I'd used for manuevering. I wonder if they turn 180 degrees one way or in all directions Rogarr thought as he listened to Nel's closing statements. By the time he finished Rogarr was practically bouncing in his seat at the chance to fly the ship and see what she was capable of.
The Captain turned his attention to the female at the table...what was her name? Was is..Deedra? No, that's not right. Oh, it was Deaira, right. I wonder if she has a role on the ship or if she's just a girl the Captain hopes to pick up Rogarr thought as he sipped at his drink. Not but, a few seconds later did a waitress, a person this time, deliver his third drink. Technically he'd already had his two free drinks but, the waitress obviously hadn't known that. He wouldn't complain though.

Rogarr sniffed the contents and then took a little lick. It seemed alright. "Never can be too careful. Especially on Nar Shaddaa" Rogarr muttered to himself as he took a swig of his Johrian Whiskey, causing him to cough. Good thing my fur is red and orange to hide my embarassment. I hate it when that happens Rogarr thought as he set the glass down and started to nurse his third drink.

She listened to the two speak with a content smile upon her face, learning from the conversation he was after a crew. Some time off planet, new faces, might be nice. As he brought up if she might like to go, a grin spread upon her face.

Taking out a credit chip, she maneuvered it around her hand with only her fingers. "Depends... how much does this "ride" pay?" Now she was getting to business. She was never free, unless she took a personal interest in the assignment, which so far she hadn't.

Eventually she flicked the chip over to a nearby serving droid. "Another drink please." Turning back to Nel, she flashed him another grin. "Now, lets talk business...."

The girl wanted to talk business, that was good news. She was interested. Picking random strangers as potential staff was easy, apperently. Nel'leit must be a very charming fellow.

Anyways he was sill attempting to relax in the situation whilst hugging his legs to his chest like a deranged infant and following every movement of Deaira as she ordered a drink with an analytical passion. Facing her as she adressed him he replied with an almost rhythmic tone to his voice.
'Well if you want to come on my ship then I have no objections.' Nel said matter-of-factly. 'I mean, if I can trust you not to blast a hole in the side of the ship while we are in air then I'm happy to have you.'

He moved in towards his exotic and luminescent drink, holding the glass with mire and bringing the sickly sweet beverage to his lips. He downed the abomination and continued to talk, cocking his head to the side as he did do.
'If I take you on board you will have a 'king size' bedroom, as they say, food and shelter and of course friendly company.' He advertised his ship like a holiday destination. He was proud of it, after all.
'In exchange all I ask is that you call me captain and do what I tell you to do.' He finished off his speech by draining the last drops from his glass and returning it to the table. Using his index finger to wipe his lip clean he added a quick annotation. 'And I, of course, mean that in a vastly non-sexual way.' He said quickly, juist to appease his insecurities.

'Of course if you are inclined for that assumption to be part of your job requirments I'm sure we could... Sigh. ... Work somthing out.' This was meant to be ironic but Nel was never good at ironic. He wasn't even looking at her at this point, focusing more on Rogarr. He seemed to be deep in thought at this moment. Nel thought it would be good of him to answer any questions that would be inevitably ringing in his mind.

'Uh, Rohgarr, was it?' Yes it was. 'No doubt you have a ship of your own. I have a garage in a little corner of the galaxy that's pretty safe while you fly my little ship.' He mentioned.
'As I mentioned, king sized bedroom and good food as long as you call me captain. He added. He decided not to add the 'in a non-sexual way' part this time. He needed to keep these guys on their toes.

She thinks about it for a moment, then scoots over beside him, leaning in front of the man and looking into his eyes. Lacing her voice with honey, so to speak, she spoke to him, batting her lashes as she did.

"How about this. You give me the largest bedroom, and I'll join your ship as you traverse space." She let out a soft, playful giggle, dancing her fingers up his chest. "I'll call you captain and everything, but I want actual credits before or after every "adventure" we tackle."

She smiled up at him, batting her eyes once more, bringing her face close to his, barely whispering into his ear. "How does that sound for you?" She then gave the lightest of teasing kissing onto his neck.

]Nel carried a fairly depressed and less-than-happy faced as Daeira moved in for an intimate chance at forcing Nel to do somthing. Nel himself would admit that he really really wanted to take her right there and then but that would be... out of character. He just went along and made sure to stop his voice from cracking.

'Sure, you can have the biggest room on the ship, no problem with that.' He sighed. He still wasn't looking at her as he answered, tingling slightly as she ran her fingers up his chest. Damned women and their womenly ways. Still, he wouldn't be taking much of a loss, all the rooms on the ship were the same size. Joke's on her. Either way her voice was making him shiver slightly and he shifted a bit in his seat.

Good job, make her think you're buying into her tricks. Ugh, you ARE buying in to her tricks... He took a very audible deep breath.

'I have enough money to give you a light, LIGHT, starting wage.' He stated, getting used to the feeling of a woman touching him by now. 'What you can take on the job is yours, what you find on this job is yours. What we get payed is an even cut.' Hopefully this cleared up that the money, while not an issue, would be coming in at a fair ammount. To be honest living on a luxury liner style ship whilst not having to live a life of civility was a good thing.

Then she kissed his neck. If brains could melt, then his would have. Of course his brain was much too large and much too brilliant for that. He wanted more, but it would be best to administer an appropriate reaction.
He turned to her, facing her for the first time directly during this exchange and said, without blinking and with a massive hint of forboding and gloom:

'Am I going to have to get used to this?'

She looked at him, pulling away slowly. She turned her face to pout, giving him the puppy dog eyes. "Will you furnish my room with whatever I want?" Once more she batted her eyes. God she could play this boy like a harp.

In her mind though she was doing back flips of joy. She had been wanting to leave for a while but had no where to go, and now she was getting payed to leave the planet, with all food and board covered too. And the "captain" was like putty in her hands. It looked like for once things were finally going her way. Though she knew not to go too far, and this was as far as she was willing to push him.

'You can furnish your room with whatever you want, I'm going to pay you to work for me but I'm not buying you stuff.' Nel tried to make a face of dissapproval but due to his habit of never really expressing much emotion apart from a mild look of unease his stern face sort of displayed as a visage of torment.

'Look, I'm not going to babysit you. We're all above and beyond the law here so I'm pretty sure you don't need me to cater to your every whim.' Nel'leit laughed, the sort of untrained laugh that comes unexplectedly to a person. And coming from a person who hadn't really pratised laughing it sounded like some terrific cackle, but his face did seem to lighten a bit. 'I don't mind the kissing though, I can live with that.' He emulated the suave through the childish very well, a voice of experiance through a look of watery innocance.

He lowered his legs and streached them, making a resoundingly loud cracking sound. He raised both hands in a half hearted shrug and cocked his head to one side, further demonstrating his ability to be unusually creepy.

'I assume we all have a deal then?'

Ryver watched at the new beginnings of a crew started to form. Talk and movement always displayed so many things, but when the female flicked a credit at her and asked for another drink her first response would normally have been to twist her head off and use her own blood as the next 'bloody Mary'. Though the captain was enjoying the moment. So to keep their cover Ryver moved on and made the blasted drink.

After fixing the drink and making their way back Taym noticed the intimate moment between the cap. and the female. Ryver noticed as well which resulted in a customer grabbing their butt again. With a smashing back hand that sent the drink being flying 6 feet away Ryver moved on toward the table.

Setting the drink down harder than normal making the table shake Ryver said to the female.....

In a female voice...- Here's your bloody drink. If you want to frak him do it some other place, and after the mission the captain has enough to think about with out having dreams of bedy-by time interfering with it. ....Turning to leave once again... If the words I have used are to big then hear this.

Even over the noise of the bar crowd Ryver's arm blasters could be heard powering up. That is when Taym spoke up.

In a male voice..- Sorry captain, Ryver has been having a bad night to night. We'll go back on watch. Excuse us. ...nods to both and goes back to the bar.
