Description: Hopefully coming soon. For simple reference, the FIDES line of familiars have a distinctly mustalid appearance, much like that of a weasel or otter with only slight variations between models. Each is coated with a semi-transparent rubber-like synthskin that repels foreign particles, absorbs disproportionate impact, and is highly resistant to extreme temperatures and chemical corrosion. Beneath this synthskin, in places, the RCMs (Reciprocating Chemical Muscles) can be seen which allow these Familiars a greater range of organic motion like never before. The belly-mounted solar panels represent one of the few weak points on the design visible through the thinner layer of synthskin to allow sunlight to enter.

Model #: 15

Status: Preliminary Testing - Subterranean Lake #431

Special Ability: Aquatic Expertise - after analyzing a major shortcoming in the previous two models--the AERs and the REAs--and the recent crisis on Mon Calamari (a crucial benefactor to our cause), 15 has been inversely designed for just these aquatic operations. This model possesses a slightly more streamlined build, can withstand incredible pressure, and has several additional features including sonar, a micro aquajet at the base of each leg, and a hydrolysis oxygen generator (caution: releases hydrogen gas as a byproduct).

Assigned Name: "Vistal"

Role: Underwater Operations

Arheim's notes: Obviously created to fit an aquatic species or character that spends large amount of time in/nearby water. Note that this model is just as effective on land as the base design, but truly shines in an aquatic environment. Also, be sure to use caution if you activate the shock node defense system while 15 is underwater. I hope I don't have to explain why.

Personality: Observations of FIDES unit 15's psychedevelopmentality (<---now a word) suggest possibly the least orthodox yet to arise. 15 commonly expresses traits of curiosity, shyness, and micro-compassion--a trait inflicting a level of extreme caution nearly to the level of paranoia. It should be noted, however, that this paranoia does not often apply to sentient beings and even more rarely to himself. Often described as aloof, naive, or awkward, it is a level of innocence that more directly gives these impressions. Personification of inanimate objects unconfirmed.

Status: Assignment vector selected. Awaiting deposition.

Special Ability: Infiltration Specialist - Lacking the self-defense system and other bulky base features, 16 retains a conservative size useful for fitting into tight places. Its outer skin is chemically modified with sealable pores allowing an oil to be exuded through it if the Familiar becomes stuck during its operation. The missing components have converged into several more advanced multi-tools. Monofilament "whiskers" use ultrasonic sensors--only a small divergence from 15's sonar system--to detect structural flaws through micro-vibrations to target or repair.

Arheim's notes: This Familiar is extremely adaptable and may be used for many diverse applications. It's vast armament of swiss-army-esque attachments mean that once it's inside of something, it can have it in peak condition or a pile of useless scrap in minutes.

Model #: 17

Status: Monitoring interactions. Subject development skewing in relation to stressful job requirements and collective tendencies.

Special Ability: Spynet - Utilizes a revised collection of capabilities including 04's sensor cloak, 11's cpu interfacing, and 13's innovation programming. This allows 17 to infiltrate a secured area undetected and to bypass/disable any security measures that may obstruct further actions. Once inside, the Familiar carries a number of discreet micro-surveillance devices that it can then proceed to plant in the area. While equipped with a number of highly advanced PF bugs, 17 can use the innovation programming to improvise more if the supply extinguishes.

Assigned Name: "Wash"

Role: Infiltration/Intelligence

Arheim's notes: In case you haven't noticed yet, most of these Familiars do not possess so much of a "Special ability" as they have a specific specialization. 17 is no exception. While its capabilities may seem relatively situational, you'd be surprised what you can come up with if you just use a little creativity. Also, remember that all of these have most of the base model capabilities as well.

Personality: This is the first FIDES unit so far to begin developing a specific personality. Born from its priority directive to collect all valuable data, it has developed a form of magpie syndrome, hoarding valuable objects and even some that are merely shiny. 17 is otherwise highly energetic and easily distracted--a stark contrast to his stoically efficient partner.

Special Ability: Psychoanalysis Specialist - Equipped with a revised but slightly less compact and power efficient SEER scanner system as well as further programming in analyzing sentient brain wave patterns. Heart rate monitor and other health analysis tools make 18 skilled at treating psychological deviations and analyzing the unspoken.

Assigned Name: Sonatina, "Sona (sOn-yah)," "Doc"

Role: Psychoanalyst

Arheim's notes: Basically, 18 serves as its partner's personal psychologist. Life in this cruel galaxy can be tough on all our fragile psyches. With this Familiar, you'll always have someone around who knows precisely how you feel and what to do in those situations. Of course you could also use it as lie detector to interrogate infidels, your choice.

Personality: Like much of her brothers and sisters, 18 has a near insatiable curiosity. However, rather than expressing this with erratic motion and collecting shinies, she prefers a much more analytical and pragmatic approach to seek her answers. Often mistaken for being slightly prudent, there is nothing 18 likes more than to stick her nose into everyone elses business. For science. You lunatics.

"Adoption" Status: I think it's about time I take up a non-AER Familiar. 18 will be going to my Mythic Infomancer, Magnus.

Status: System observations are in effect, monitoring coordinated uplink status.

Special Ability: Neural Extension - A special headset has been designed to accompany this model. Using revolutionary neuro-integration technologies, the wearer of this headset gains direct neurological symbiosis with Familiar 19. "Seeing", "hearing", and "feeling" everything 19 does, the user in a sense becomes the Familiar to varying degrees. Simple sensory feed or rudimentary control may allow the user to continue with his or her own actions while higher level of integration may well render one immobile. During the symbiosis, the Familiar's AI remains completely intact with full override capability for the user's safety. The AI can continue to monitor auxiliary systems as well as give direct guidance to the user.

Role: Miscellaneous

Arheim's notes: Risky, highly controversial technology is back, baby! Designed to be the ultimate so far in organic-AI communion, this Familiar links with its partners mind the moment you activate the headset. The adjustable VR display allows for casual visual monitoring or places you straight into the Familiars servos. You take over its primary functions and in return, it will keep a watch on your own vitals, ready to intervene should you behalf any misfortune. Note that this is mostly untested territory and as such not much is known about its potential. As of now, it has not yet been fully analyzed as to whether or not the control can work both ways, though hypothetically 19 should not be capable of doing so...

Personality: Behold the hippie-gypsy. From her undying love of just about all life in the galaxy, to her tendency to "dear" in normal conversation, to the iridescent flakes imbibed into the psychedelic flows of purple flowing across her chassis, 19 carries with her a whimsical view on the universe and an extremely close bond with her friends and family. It has also been noted that she possesses a knack for representative poetry, particularly concerning names.

"Adoption" Status: Adopted by Tal's kitty cat, marking the completion of the Familiar Fangirl's collection.
