A Breath of Fresh Air(DLA OPEN)

Saerith was leaning against the wall off to the right side of the hangar making no attempts to hide herself, but Kia said nothing to her. Only drew her basked, and took what Saerith assumed was a ready stance. Seconds later Kia unleashed a flurry of steel her blade moving so fast it took on the appearance of many blades dancing in the sunlight around her.

Saerith stood there arms crossed, and mouth ajar for a few seconds, a Twi'leki curse slipping under her breath. She stared on in awe as Kia appeared to dispatch invisible enemies sometimes wielding the blade with only one hand and for brief moment's two. Saerith's inexperienced eye saw no forms or style. Only a fear inspiring beauty that is known to all who understand the purpose of a blade.

Quite suddenly the fierce display of mock combat ended and Saerith found herself rooted to the spot. a new found fear and respect blossoming for Kia. After several moment's Saerith came back to herself and quickly closed her mouth which had continued to hang open throughout the exercise. With a quick bounce of the shoulder Saerith righted herself and approached. She made no noise as she moved closer more out of habit then any sort of conscious effort.

Making a mental note of the longest blades length Saerith stopped just behind Kia out of reach of arm and blade combined "Kia..." Saerith sad softly so as not to startle the woman "How did you... where..." Saerith paused not sure what it was she really intended to say. The memory still fresh she saw the blade dance once more in her minds eye. "That was amazing..."

To Saerith it was more then Amazing. It was power. A power no blaster could ever compete with, not in her eyes at least. It was the absence of fear, replaced by skill with a blade and trust in steel, an element she felt a strong affinity for and had for as long as she could remember. It was then it occurred to her why the display of swordsmanship had awed her to the core. It was the choice to not be afraid anymore. She took a deep breath and clenched her before finally asking the question that had been her first thought from the moment she saw the basked dance "Can you teach me how to do that?"

Kiala turned to regard Saerith. Still holding her beskad in hand. The feintist smirk crosses this serious womans lips. Kiala found it amusing how Saerith stumbled over her words at first, clearly impressed by what she had witnessed.

"How?..that is simple", Kiala pointedly taps her left arm, then both legs, a reminder to Saerith what lies beneath the tight black leather. "Where?, As easily answered as the fist. A friend taught me". Kialas smile grew ever so slightly as she watched Saerith. "Amazing?", Kiala shrugged ever so slightly, "If you say so"

Kiala watched calmly as Saerith stood the watching her and took another small sip of water. She couldnt very well tell Saerith about her past. That the woman Kia Starseeker was only as real as a set of forged documents. That her name was Kiala Drell, that she had never served in the military. That she wasnt a trained soilder...but a trained assassin. No one in the DLA knew about it....except one man. Erle, but he was dead now and she didnt trust his son and she had trusted him. She trusted Saerith, but how would her friend react to the fact the woman she knew was a cold blooded killer. That she had killed men and woman who had done nothing wrong.

Kiala came back from her private thoughs as Saerith asked her to teach her. She staired her down for a moment, and for the briefest of moments was going to refuse. She knelt down and skooped up the shorter beskad and tossed it to Saerith.

"Very well then". Kiala drew her blade again and took the same ready stance as before, "do as I do. To start with, put your main hand at the top of the hilt..it is called the Tsuba". Kiala places her left hand at the top, "Your secondary goes down here, this is called the kashira". Here she places her left hand. As soon as Saerith was ready Kiala began moving through a series of slow, fluid motions, correcting her friend in ryle from time to time.

with a practice born of many years of catching tossed Hydrospanners Saerith caught the shorter Basked Kia tossed her but she stopped there unsure what to do with the blade as it felt awkward in her hand. Luckily Kia began giving her instructions and Saerith mimicked her first in the proper grip of the blade and then Imitating Kia's stance, and then copied the more experienced woman's motions.

While Kia's movements were fluid and sure Saerith's were hesitant and clumsy although they began to improve as Kia calmly corrected her when she made a mistake. Letting her mind ease into the flow of the stances Saerith began to ponder Kia's vague answer to her questions. For a moment she considered pressing for further details but decided against it. Where and How were Kia's business and it this point Saerith trusted her more then anyone else in the galaxy.

No doubt Saerith felt she would always tend towards strong friends. Weak or Inept people she couldn't help because she was weak and inept. She knew that she couldn't take care of or look after anyone so it was best to keep to people who could do it for themselves, and in the back of her mind she added and me too I suppose.

She didn't intend to stay that way anymore. Always running and hiding was a bad plan and she knew it. One day she would be caught or she would be found. Kia was the person she had needed for a long time. A friend, a teacher of sorts and as her sure movements with the blade attested... lethal.

Saerith followed through with one last swing and stopped. her arms were beginning to ache. she let them fall to her sides but kept a firm grip on the Beskad in her right hand. Breathing heavy she said "You make it look easy." she heaved another breath and then continued. "But it's not" Already she could feel the weariness of her arms spreading to her chest and soon the rest of her body would be sore as well.

Kiala watched Saerith closely out of the corner of one eye. She handled the blade as if it were going to bite her. From what Kiala knew of her friend, Saerith was no fighter. An able mechanic, and decent person, but not a fighter. This was somthing personaly disliked in most people, but then again few had the courage to try and change. Saer had that courage, and she had asked Kiala for help. How could she say no after Saerith had helped her so many times.

Kiala took her through all the movements until Saerith finaly stopped. Kiala continued for a short while before lowring her beskad. She nudged her toe beneath the shieth and kicked it up into her hand. Reshiething the blade Kiala turned to Saerith.

"No, it is not easy...I have been doing this routine everyday since I was thirteen..but you will learn". She walked over to where her water bottle was, scooped it up and handed it to Saerith. "Here...drink this". Kiala sat down and looked out at the ocean.

"I was eight...my parents had a Dynamic-class freighter, nothing special. We were on our way to Tatooine. Somthing went wrong and we were thrown out of Hyperspace....'Sparrow' crash laned on Hoth..my parents died, and I lost my arm, and both legs from just above the knee". Kialas tone is smooth and even, a measured tempo. "I also lost my eye-site. I was found by researches there. They were studieng different types of cybernetics and genetic alterations. They used the techniques they had learned so far to save my life....its why I can do the things I do"

Kiala shrugged, then pointed at the beskad Saerith had. "Take good care of that blade Saer...its yours now". She rolled her right shoulder. She looked at Saerith, and despite what she had thought earlier she sighed. "Sit down, and I'll tell you everything", and tell her everything she did. From what her parents were likem to what she had been trained to do, and did. She even told Saerith her actual name. When she was done she took off her sun-glasses and looks Saerith in the eye. Her own calm blue eyes gazed into Saeriths breen ones. There was somthing else there. Uncertainty, almost a fear that she would be rejected by her friend. Kiala was quite and waited for Saerith to speak.

Kabira needed a break. Her fingers were aching from trying to pry off that stubborn nut on one of the damaged speeders and she had scraped three knuckles already today. She just knew she was going to have a bruise where she’d whacked her knee on the mounting assembly and in general, her body was aching from head to toe from not enough sleep and too much work. Al had already taken some down time to relax but Kabira didn’t really know any other methods of relaxation other than working on a good vehicle or shooting practice. Maybe she would consider heading to the firing range later. The air in the garage was a little stuffy and a crisp breeze struck her sweat and grease stained face as it rushed in through the open hangar doors. Beyond it, the rumble of surf could be heard and Kabira caught a whiff of salt and ocean on the wind. A few migratory birds called noisily outside. Usually the young blonde would have ignored the little bay outside but she figured it was as good a place as any to relax for a minute. She’d seen the new mechanic head that way a little while ago and she figured it was as good a time as any for a cordial introduction.

At first, Kabira wasn’t sure if she was going to like the new girl. She was always a little wary of prettier girls who were handy around the garage as she didn’t want them looking too hard at her Al. Saerith didn’t seem to be too interested in chasing the head mechanic though so Kabira figured it would be better to get along with her fellow worker than to cause unnecessary strife. She sighed and tossed aside the dirty rag she’d just wiped her hands off with. Hooking her thumbs into the too large pockets of her helplessly stained overalls, she shuffled off toward the open bay doors. The closer she got, the more she realized that getting a breath of fresh air would do her good. She shuffled up to the edge of the hangar itself and peered out onto the beach. There were two people seated there apparently engaged in a serious conversation. Kabira recognized Saerith but the other woman she’d only seen once or twice since she’d shown up. She had come in with a really nice looking ship that Kabira had been aching to take a closer look at but other work had kept her at bay.

Kabira thought hard for a moment, casting a glance back into the garage again, before finally deciding to head down to the beach. She couldn’t’ honestly say there was much left to do since she and Al had been working themselves silly repairing everything. Staying in the garage at that point would just be hiding out, which was exactly what she’d been doing for the last few days. Erle’s funeral had hit her pretty hard and she had no interest in discussing it with anyone. Everyone else had found their solace in company and remembering Erle. Kabira had found hers in the smell of exhaust and the feel of steel in her hands. She shuffled aimlessly along the beach, watching the sand gather up around the toes of her boots as she scuffed along. She wanted to give Saerith and her friend enough time to either wrap up their conversation or get up and wander off if they didn’t want company intruding. The young blond stopped a few feet shy of them and eyed them both a little warily at first before offering a tentative smile. “Sorry if I’m interrupting somethin’. You can tell me to buzz off, if ya want. I just wanted to…well…I guess to formally say ‘hi’ to Saerith since we haven’t had much time to meet. Al said you’re the new mechanic so we’re going to be working together a lot.” Kabira offered out a dirty and slightly bloodied hand, completely oblivious to the skinned knuckles that had smeared while in her pocket.

Saerith's eyes opened as wide as they could when Kia told her to keep the blade but before she had time to even give thanks Kia said she had more to tell about her past. It was a rare thing for Kia to speak much at all and never of her past.

So Saerith listened intently. If she missed anything Kia was not likely to repeat it. After everything was said Saerith sat there silently thinking things over. The fact that the woman sitting there next to her was a trained assassin didn't bother her much. Saerith had already known she was dangerous, although this sort of helped put a measure on Just how dangerous she was.

Deciding something Saerith turned to look at Kia who was watching her with the slightest apprehension. fear? Saerith wondered to herself. Kia (or Kiala I suppose) in Saerith's experience wasn't afraid of anything. Why now? then it hit Saerith like a blaster bolt between her eyes. Kia was afraid that Saerith would reject her because of her past. Saerith smiled at her friend warmly "Look Kia... I don't care about who you were or what you did. All that matters is who you are now, and right now your one of my best friends. It's that simple."

Before Saerith could go any further another voice Joined them. Turning around to look. it was Kabira the other mechanic. She had seen her around but never spoken to her. Now there she stood with her hand outstretched. Standing Saerith grasped it in her own ignoring the grease and blood. Her own hands had been in such states numerous times, so it didn't bother her in the slightest.

"Hi Kabira. My name is Saerith." she greeted her warmly. Anyone who liked machines as much as Saerith was bound to be someone she wanted to know. "I'm sorry I left you in there working by yourself but I kinda need a break and then I ran into Kia here... just sorry Saerith cut herself off before she started Rambling. "Anyway... it's nice to meet you" Saerith stood there awkwardly the Basked hanging from her right hand.

Kiala actualy smiled when Saerith didnt reject her. It was a relief to know that she had a friend she could confide in once more. "Please keep this to yourself Saer...". Kiala leaned back slightly, and turned her head to the side. She noticed some one heading there way. It was the young mechanic Kabira. Kiala didnt know her, but atleast knew of her. Kiala rose up off the ground waited for Kabira to stop talking.

As soon as Saerith was done introducing herself and doing a little rambling, Kiala extended her left hand, "Kia Starseeker". Somthing would have felt off about the hand Kiala had extended. It was solid, and with no give to it unlike a flesh and blood hand. Kiala frowned slightly and turned Kabiras hand over to look at the bloodied knuckles.

Kiala reached took the water bottle and poured some of it over Kabira's knucke's. She then took somthing from off her belt, a rag of some sort and cleaned the oil and blood away. "Thats a good way the get an infection..then you might be forced to go see Surge. I thought I would spare you". Tossing the rag aside Kiala reaches into the same pouch and pulls out some sort of ointment. She removes the cap with her teeth, and spreads some on the wound. She re-caps the ointment and puts it in her pouch before removing her right glove with her teeth. Kiala gently spreads the ointment around the wound and then reaches for yet somthing else. Gauze, and raps it around Kabiras hand with an expert, practiced ease.

The entire time Kialas expression had remained neutral, and her tone flat, nearly without emotion. This was the Kiala most everyone got. Cold, distant. Her eye's would have appaered odd to Kabira though likely for reasons the young woman couldnt place.

Kabira’s smile warmed considerably toward Saerith when the twi’lek took her hand and didn’t show any sign of being put off by the grease smear left across her palm when the handshake was over. The young woman couldn’t stand girlie girls who would flinch at things like dirt and grime but she hadn’t really expected such a reaction from a fellow mechanic and Saerith didn’t disappoint. She had to grudgingly admit that the reputation of Twi’lek beauty had not been overstated either. Saerith was lovely, certainly, with her high defined features, pouty lips, and curves that Kabira herself envied. She’d never filled out any article of clothing the way Saerith did and she felt small and grungy by comparison. Still, the warmth of Saerith’s smile and the way she rambled on a bit made it hard to dislike her. Kabira waved off the apology with one hand. “Psh. S’not like I was gonna take a break till now anyway,” she said dismissively, “you can always make it up to me later when I have to clean the undercarriages on the reeks when the scouts bring ‘em back. I swear they find every mud puddle and rock quarry they can to ride through.” She narrowed her eyes and glared back at the open hanger as if the scouts were already standing there. “I think they even make a few when they can’t find enough,” she muttered in closing, offering Saerith a playful grin that said she wasn't joking in the least about her intent to make Saerith help out in that task.

The strange woman across from Saerith reached out her own hand toward Kabira and introduced herself with a singular authority that left no room for argument. Right away, the blond had the unmistakable impression that this woman would happily deck anyone who wanted to argue with her. Kabira was liking her already. She took the proffered hand but her warm expression quickly gave way to a raised eyebrow as she glanced down at the hand still clutching hers. The glove was a soft leather but that was where the give ended as the skin underneath didn’t budge. Kabira had grabbed enough tools in her life to know the feel of something metal in her hand but she wasn’t quite sure what to make of that. Before she knew it, while her mind was preoccupied with the strange hand she’d taken, Kia was already halfway through applying an ointment to her scraped knuckles. She didn’t flinch in the slightest when the water and ointment were applied, having been through such a procedure countless times, but she frowned and looked up at Kia with an expression that said she wasn’t sure why the other woman was bothering.

Kabira’s father had never babied her as she’d grown up and she’d always been expected to ‘man up’ when she fell or scraped something. She saw the grazed knuckles as no different. She shrugged at the comment that it would lead to an infection and brushed the thought aside with another wave of her other hand. “Meh, never got an infection before from some scraped up knuckles. I’d be buying stock in ointment if I applied some for every scratch and scrape I get.” She shrugged again but offered the woman a half hearted smile anyway. “Uh..thanks though.” Kabira wasn’t quite sure what to think of Kia. Normally, she’d have been pulling her hand away by that point and telling the person trying to help her that she wasn’t a baby and would gladly prove it in a one on one fight if they needed reminding but the sword dangling loosely from the woman’s belt let Kabira know that this wasn’t the sort of person who babied others and she took the aid with a measure of gratitude instead. Everything about Kia screamed ‘fighter’; the way she stood with her weight spread evenly across her back foot while the front knee bent ever so slightly, the way her shoulders were squared and set to present a hard and unmovable target to anyone trying to knock her down, even the set and determined gleam in her eyes. Kabira had seen enough fighters in her life, having watched Dutch and Erle go at it, to know that only someone who could handle themselves in a fight stood like that. To the untrained eye, Kia might not look dangerous, but to Kabira all the signs were as clear as neon lights.

She took back her hand once it was wrapped and met the odd woman’s gaze evenly. There was something…just a little off in Kia’s stare, something a little deeper than the rest of her flat expressionless face but it only flickered there a moment and Kabira turned away when she realized she was staring. “So…you’re new to the DLA, huh? We could use the help…we can use all the help we can get. They give you guys the tat and a rank yet?” she said as nonchalantly as she could, her eyes turned out to the sea.

Saerith nodded to Kabira before turning back to grab her new Basked sheath off the ground. "Thanks a bunch Kia." Saerith said turning her smile on the woman. Taking care to wipe down the blade before sheathing it she turned back to Kabira at the mention of Rank and Tattoo.

Saerith paused for a moment before speaking "I'm not sure I have anymore room for a Tattoo" She indicated the Dark green tattoo's that swirled over ever visible inch of flesh. and as for Rank... I wasn't really aware I would have any. Was kind of thinking of my self as civilian help"

The mention of the rank made her apprehensive. Soldiers had ranks... and soldiers had to fight. Likely she wouldn't come back from a mission if she was forced to go. Not a bad shot but she had a tendency to freeze up in fights. The Sith would kill her in a second.

"I'm not much of a fighter... Ya'know... I Just joined up to fix things." She said. It didn't mean she wouldn't go fight for the DLA but it did mean that she would rather not if she could avoid it.

Without thinking she seemed to contradict herself by slinging on the Basked so the hilt poked over her shoulder. freezing for a moment she threw sort of a hesitant smile at Kabira "I'm uhh... just learning how to use this" She poked her thumb over her shoulder to indicate the blade "Kia just gave it to me not a minute before you came down actually"

Saerith glanced at Kia her thankful smile still in place. No one had given her anything since the blaster that was strapped her left thigh and that had been nine years ago.

Kiala had seen the lingering gaze upon her hand. It was obvious that Kabira knew there was something different. Just how different the girl likely didn't fully know, even if she suspected. She took Kialas doctoring in stride. Kiala was quite impressed with this young woman already. She wasn't like most of the women Kiala knew, who were dainty, and afraid to break a nail. The sensors in Kialas cybernetic hand had registered a firm grip, something that she liked.

Kiala also recognized the spark, and fire in this small woman. She could also clearly read Kabiras curiosity about her arm. At the mention of the rank and tattoo Kiala unzips her leather jacket/blouse and removes it. This reveals her cybernetic arm in full. It also reveals a tattoo on her right arm, a lightning bolt striking a star. She turns slightly and lifts the side of the dark purple tank top she was wearing. She had the DLA insignia on her right side. "It took a little convincing, but I eventual got it". From what can be seen of Kiala's build, she is slender, with a definate tone to her muscles.

Turning her attention to Saertih the briefest hint of a smile crossed her lips, "I don't know, Saer...I think there might be a spot on your rear". She turned back to Kabira, "Have you had a chance to look over that transport I stole from the sith base yet?, she seemed to be listing to the left a little on my way back, I'm guessing there might be something wrong with the power conductor". Kiala was a skilled pilot, and thought her skill as a mechanic was minimal, she knew the feel of when something was off.

Kiala didn't know if word had gotten around Homestead yet about her leveling the sith base. If it had if it had, and if hadn't, it hadn't. What she cared about was that transport, without Sparrow at her immediate disposal, it was the only thing she could pilot, aside from fer R4-VN.

[[Sparrow isn't at the DLA hanger yet Otter. I need the OK from Dutch first, he needs to talk to Rugs and Meira about it. AS of right now its in a cave about 20miles from Homestead. Planning on taking Kabira and Saerith to that cave so they can look her over, and to get some things Kiala left behind]]]]

Kabira looked over all the body ink as Saerith gestured to it. It was pretty evident that she had indeed filled every spot of space on her skin that she could apparently reach and, having never seen a Twi’lek in person, Kabira wondered if it was a cultural thing she simply didn’t understand or if it was a personal choice. She rather preferred the idea of a personal choice because it would mean that Saerith went out on her own and volunteered to have all of those tattoos done for no other reason than because she felt like it. That option sounded so much more high speed than the girl having done it just because she had to. Kabira decided not to ask; at least, not for the moment anyway. She quirked a brow and stifled a small chuckle at Saerith’s obvious awkwardness with her new weapon. The basked on her shoulder matched the one on Kia’s hip so it wasn’t a surprise when Saerith announced where it had come from.

“Oh don’t worry about the fighting,” Kabira said brightly, “You’ll be doing it anyway. Trust me, I signed up to fix stuff too but around here you’re gonna find that nothing ever seems to go according to plan.” She frowned as she thought back to the rescue mission of Dutch and her own nervousness at having to ride full tilt into a Sith compound to get him out. She hadn’t thought she was going to survive it when the blasters were flying and the battle had truly been set off in earnest. Still, she’d come out ok and she was fairly sure Saerith would come into her own if given enough push. “As for rank, you’re a mechanic now which means you’ll have to get a tat at some point. Mechanic IS a rank,” she said with a smile. She popped loose one strap of her overalls and hefted her own well worn grey t-shirt to reveal the DLA tattoo etched across her ribs. A single stripe ran across the top of the symbol as a mark of her rank as a mechanic. “You’ll have one stripe, like me.” Kabira tucked her shirt back down and re-adjusted her clothes again, offering the Twi’lek a reassuring smile.

Her smile turned to open mouthed and blatant amazement when she turned to spot Kia without her blouse on. Her left arm was entirely made out of metal that gleamed a dull silver in the afternoon light and the mechanic couldn’t help but start to reach for it right away. She pulled herself back before crossing a line she was fairly sure wouldn’t be appreciated but for a moment she couldn’t tear her eyes off the strange appendage. A million questions wanted to race out of Kabira’s mouth at once. She wanted to look it over, examine it, take it apart and put it back together again just to see how it worked. She had always treated her vehicles like living things and here was something made to LOOK living. It captivated the young woman and she almost completely missed Kia showing her own DLA tattoo. It was with a great reluctance that she finally tore her eyes off Kia’s arm and managed to look back up at the woman though her expression had changed subtly from a cool detachment and healthy respect to something more akin to piqued interest and fascination. Kia was part machine. That was enough to make her instantly someone Kabira wanted to know more about.

The young woman didn’t bother holding back the chortle at Kia’s comment on where Saerith could put her tattoo and she grinned mischievously at her fellow mechanic. “Don’t say that too loud. Dutch really WILL have them put it there if he can’t find anywhere else for it to go.” She snorted in amusement at the mental image that conjured. Kabira looked up at Kia’s question with open interest. "So that was you that brought that thing in?" She chuckled and grinned at Kia. "I heard you scared the crap outta a bunch of our guys pulling that thing in. Best be careful about that. Our boys coulda shot you down if they had thought you were a real Sith." Kia had just gone up another notch in Kabira's level of respect. She had heard that someone had stolen the Sith ship and brought it in but the details were vague. She'd also heard about the Sith base being blown up by the person who had stolen the ship but as usual all the details were a bit fuzzy. In the confusion that had followed the rescue, they had dealt with Dutch's injuries, Erle's funeral, and the assortment of damage that had happened to the vehicles the DLA had already owned. Kabira had no idea to what extent damage had been done.


She grinned and shook her head. “I haven't been able to look at it yet though, been working on something else actually but I saw it in there. I think Al may have taken a look at it earlier but I have it written up on the board to go over it this afternoon sometime.” She quirked a corner of her mouth and looked down at her stained boots as she mulled over Kia’s suggestion on the listing. It was a fairly good guess and was probably at least partially correct. “You’re probably right about the power conductor though I’d also wanna check its internal calibration systems and see if there’s anything feeding the central computer bad data. Could be something off with the gyroscopic sensor array. If it’s telling the main computer that it’s listing too far to the right, then the computer will adjust accordingly and cause it to fall to the left. Course, I’m also gonna wanna give her a complete overhaul anyway. I don’t trust anything the Sith owned to be properly cared for.”

Kabira frowned heavily and jammed her hands into her pockets. “They probably haven’t cleaned out the internal wiring in quite some time either.” She turned to Saerith with a smile and cocked her head toward the open hangar. “You can give me a hand with that if you want. It’s gonna take me forever to go through that thing on my own.”

Saerith's smile dimmed a little at the thought of being required to head out on a mission, but she had expected that would be case the moment it had been explained to her what the D.L.A was. "Ah well... I'll manage I'm sure. you've been in tough scrapes before she tried to reassure herself but she couldn't help adding by running from them.. She shrugged off the thought's with the decision not to worry about being forced to fight until that actually the case. She had yet to hear she was going to be doing anything of the sort just yet.

It surprised her to hear that Mechanics tattoos would indicate them as such, but then again she had never been part of anything like the D.L.A before so it wasn't as if she had any sort of clue what to expect. the thought of getting another tattoo didn't bother her in the slightest,probably because it was one that marked another important event in her life. Every line of ink on her body had meaning to her and this new tattoo would not detract from that in the least.

Her smile vanished completely at Kia's suggestion as to where the tattoo could be placed and Kabiras comment that it would indeed have to go there if she had no more room. It was true that it was one of a few areas that she didn't already have tattoo's but that was for the same reason she wouldn't let the D.L.A put their tattoo there. "you're... you're joking right?" she asked Kabira and added quickly "there is a enough room on the small of my back for it I think"

The thought of having to get it put on her butt was not appealing the least. No one was going to get that intimate with her for the sake of some ink. she put her hands in her pockets and frowned while inwardly imagining the horrifyingly awkward scene she would be playing center stage in, but her mind was quickly drawn back to the world of the living at the mention of the Sith skiff.

"I've actually been wanting to take a look at that for a bit, but other stuff has needed do ya know" she shrugged her hands still in her pockets. The motion nudged the sheathed blade on her back reminding her of it's presence and she couldn't help but smile at Kia again. "and of course, I'm more then willing to give you a hand with it" She said turning her light green eyes back to Kabira. "I think you would find it harder to keep me away from it then invite me to help ya know."

Excitement at the thought of getting to look at the inner workings of the Sith vehicle bubbled around in her making her slightly more giddy then she would usually be but she only showed it through a bigger toothy smile which shrunk fractionally at the mention of the mention of Sith's vehicle maintenance. A quick nod to Kabira she added "I don't trust anything the Sith built period. Poorly taken care of or not." Despite her words she knew the Skiff was a decent vehicle. the Sith's craftsmanship was by no means below par but she didn't really care to admit that.

"if there is anything wrong with her I'm sure we can sort it out" and with that she smiled at the Kabira. She held no doubt's about the women and her aptitude with a hydrospanner.
Saerith had seen her working around the garage and she had to admit she was impressed which wasn't something that wasn't easily done when it came to mechanics. more then a few time's she had been irked to see an incompetent mechanic at work. Her teacher when she had been Korinthas slave was one of them.

Kiala smirked ever so slightly at Kabira's reaction to her arm. It was remanisant of Saeriths, though she had actualy taken hold of Kialas arm and started looking it over. Kabira seemed to be a bit more composed and controlled than Saerith. Without a word Kiala kneels down and unzips the sides or her pands and lifts them up to above her knee's, revealing that they too were cybernetics. Standing, Kiala lets them drop back down

"Look closely", she says pointing to her eyes. There was definately somthing different about them. Upon a closer inspection, it would become obvious. They were cybernetic as well."my parents ship crashed when I was eight, as I result I needed replacements. I've had to update them several times, but these are my current ones.". She knelt and rezipped her pants legs ."Saer, why dont you let Kabira look at the schematics for these. I'm sure you kept them.....and while your at it let her see the schematics for 'Sparrow'. When we go to get my gear from her, Kabira might come along and help you look her over. There was a definate note of affection in Kialas voice as she spoke about her ship.

She glanced at Saerith when you twil'ek 'blushed',"Yes Saer, I was joking..though with the other places you have ink, not realy sure why you object...unluss its just not wanting to drop your pants to prove who you are".

After this Kiala simply listens to Kabira and Saerith talking shop. The girl, Kabira seemed to know her stuff. When Kabira mentioned it may be a computer glitch Kiala simply shook her head, "Its somthing mechanical, I may be no mechanic, but I know what an engine should sound like, and Hawk-Wings left engine sounds wrong. Her right is fine" She was about the elaberate more when somthing pinched her butt. Unnoticed by any of them, Noodle had snuck up behind her and grabbed her rear. Kiala spun around, drawing one of her MAP-77 and pointed it at the colprit. Kialas eyes went hard and flat, and her mouth became a straight line. She holstered her gun and grabbed Noodle by his front, just bellow his eye and ligted him up to eye level with her."Listen to me and listen to me closely Noodle....you do that to me again, and I'll vape you...savie?". She shook noodle as she spoke to him the dropped him as soon as she was done.

She turned back to Saerith and Kabira as the litte droid started griping at her and making an odd stuttering noise. Kiala nearly started laughing at the little droid and he puttered away. She rolled her eyes instead, By the way Kabira, if you'd like I could teach you how to fight as well

Kabira held back a chuckle at the apprehensive tone of Saerith’s voice when she was confronted with the idea of having a tattoo on her butt. The effect came out more as a snort of laughter instead but she couldn’t hold that part in as the image of ever so shy Saerith being chased around by Candi as the silent artist brandished an ink gun at her flashed through her mind. Candi would probably love to get a good look at Saerith as she’d enjoy seeing all of the myriad tattoos that dotted the twi’lek’s body. Kabira half wondered exactly how many of them there were. It had to have taken some considerable time to put all of those in place. The effect was quite stunning really, with the lovely woman coming across as part mechanic, part living art. Her lekku were covered in myriad symbols that Kabira wanted to get a better look at should the time permit but she wasn’t the touchy-feely sort and didn’t know whether Saerith would appreciate having someone she barely knew pawing at her head tails.

Kabira grinned at the twi’lek’s obvious interest in the Sith machine they had parked in the garage. She had to admit to herself that she’d been eyeing it most of the day but she couldn’t pry herself away from the workload she’d been balancing to go look at it yet. She was bound and determined to pull it apart and put it back together piece by piece. Without a good set of specs on it, they would need to learn everything about it by touch and sight instead. It would be an arduous process but the end would make it worth it. The knowledge they gained would not only let them fix this particular ship should it break but it might give them some insight into how to disable other Sith equipment later. The young woman’s attention was drawn back to Kia who, without preamble, had dropped to unzip her pant legs. The same dull silver metal shone bright from both legs, more cybernetic implants, and this time, Kabira couldn’t help herself. She dropped down to one knee and peeled Kia’s right pant leg back to look closer at the metal appendage. The prosthetic was a work of genius. Tiny servos whirred and clicked with each twitch of Kia’s leg, as if human muscle had been rendered straight into mechanical form. The joints were wonderfully articulated and Kabira eyed the tiny screws which held each piece together in a snap and fit construction that would keep it from coming apart even if a screw came loose.

She poked and prodded at the limb looking it over with rapt fascination before hoping up and grabbing the mechanical arm, all pretense of personal space having been set aside in favor of a closer look. “That is SO wizard,” she breathed in quiet admiration as she bent and flexed each of Kia’s fingers in turn. When the eyes were pointed out, Kabira could hardly believe it and she hopped right up into Kia’s face to take a close look. Miniscule gears spun as the eyes tried their best to focus on the sudden blond blur filling Kia’s vision and the girl found herself utterly captivated. She obviously couldn’t touch those though and she clasped her hands firmly behind her back to keep them in check as she gazed openly at the strange dilating pupil. Kia explained the implants away with a tone of voice that didn’t sound anywhere near as impressed as Kabira would have been but she kept her mouth shut. Her eyes lit up with an immediate hunger when Kia mentioned the schematics though and Kabira whirled around to face Saerith.

“You have schematics?? Can I see them? When? Do you do repairs on them or does she see a doctor for that? What kind of lubrication do they need and how often?” The questions rolled out of Kabira at a speed that left no time at all between each one for anyone to answer. She wasn’t sure what the “Sparrow” was but she could well take a guess that it was Kia’s ship from the note of pride in her voice. She was practically bouncing at the idea of seeing those schematics too.

Kabira was so wrapped up in the idea of seeing the inner workings of Kia’s cybernetics that she completely missed the interaction between Kia and Noodle. The little droid had long ago learned not to try his usual tricks on Kabira after one incident had left him welded partly onto a ceiling girder. He had quickly decided that messing with a mechanic had its disadvantages and while he would still snark at her with the usual enthusiasm, he had decided that this particular grease monkey wasn’t one he wanted to push the wrong buttons on. Instead, Kabira had turned to Saerith, the person here who apparently had ready access to information she was desperate to see, and began talking her ear off about all the questions she had about the cybernetics. She wanted to know manufacturers and whether they were mass produced and whether the actual nerves were attached and did Kia feel anything when they were touched and what sort of programming was involved if any and where the central processing unit of each piece was. She listed off the things she wanted to know, looking at Saerith with tremendous interest.

Kia’s next words got Kabira’s attention though. She wheeled back around and quirked an eyebrow at the other woman at the comment on being taught how to fight. The look that crossed Kabira’s face might have suggested that Kia had just insulted her mother and she might as well have. Kabira wasn’t afraid to take on any fighter of any size and while she’d lost a fair few fights, she’d won quite a few as well. To hear someone tell her that they could teach her how to fight without having ever SEEN her fight was an outright insult. It was one Kabira was determined to rectify. “Why you…” She turned on the spot, sinking her weight into her hips and rolling it up along her shoulder in a punch that would have laid flat any opponent not expecting it. It was obvious that Kabira had at least SOME training in hand to hand combat.

Unfortunately, Kia was wasn’t ANY opponent.

Kiala smirked slightly when Kabira gave into temptation and knelt down for a closer inspection of her legs. She made sure to point out that part of her legs were still flesh and blood, that only from just above the knee down was cybernetic. She endured all the curious poking and proding. When Kabira took hold of her arm a small chuckle escaped Kialas lips. It was amusing to Kiala, that someone would be so facinated by somthing she herself was used to. When Kabira started playing with her 'fingers', she would have noticed several things. One was that Kialas cybernetics seemed to make little to no sound. Second of would have been a small opening at the wrist, just bellow the palm. It was an opening about and inch across and a half in wide. The purpose wouldnt be clear for this. Her investigation of Kialas eyes was equaly inthusiastic,"They are called Synthetics...they are made with cloned genetic material, and cybernetic componants."

Kiala came close to laughing again as Kabita turned on Saerith and began badgering her with one question after another, giving the twil'ek no time to answer. The insadent with Noodle came and went without notice from the small mechanic. It wasnt until Kiala offered to teach Kabira to fight that Kabira payed her any further attention. The tiny blonde whirled around and glared at her. Kiala blinked once as Kabira's short statement

Kialas eyes narrowed as she watched Kabira shift her weight.The role of her hips as she prepared to punch. Kabira's techniek was good, but it was to open. As the punch sailed in Kiala stepped to the side slightly, catching Kabira wrist with her right hand. She placed her left hand under Kabiras arm pit, pivoted her own weight and used the force of her punch against her. She flipped Kabira onto her back on the sandy beach. Kiala turned around and raised an eyebrow at Saerith...by wich time Kabira had gotten back up and lept onto Kialas back. Kiala sighed and grabbed both of Kabira's wrist and flipped her onto her back...again. Oddly enough, Kabira started laughing and got right back up, and turned to face Kiala, her feet spread,and her hands held in fist infront of her. Kiala smirked, and took her own ready stance. Her right leg was placed forward, her heal raised, while her left was back, her heal firmly on the ground. Her hands were held out infront of her, only half closed, her left arm held further forward, and her right closer to her chest.

"I knew there was somthing I liked about you Blondie", Kiala said, using Kabiras call sign.

It had been a good swing, Kabira was certain of that, and so she was a tad confused when she wound up on her back staring up at a blue sky. Kia had flipped her easily enough, aided by those mechanical appendages, but if she thought the matter was closed, she was seriously wrong. Kabira had come up fighting her whole life and while her own training wasn’t as extensive as Dutch’s or Al’s, she had a singular tenacity that wouldn’t be so easily put to rest. For her, this was just the start. A good fight was a bonding experience in the Wakana household and so it didn’t hurt her feelings in the least to have been thrown. She grinned and flipped over onto her hands and knees before springing up and attaching herself to Kia’s back. She had been aiming for a rear naked choke and was just getting her arm into position to cut off the bloodflow to Kia’s brain when her arms were seized again and she was hurled once more to the ground.

Kabira’s back had barely hit the ground when she burst into a fit of genuine laughter and rolled back to her feet again, this time digging her heels in and settling into a good fighting stance. Her body language said clearly that things had gone from just wrestling to an open boxing match and while she was small in stature, she had settled her weight like a pro in preparation for a good struggle. Over her short life, Kabira had taken many a hit and she was pretty sure it would hurt like no one’s business if she got clocked with that mechanical arm but she’d been hit by boys twice her size and still managed to keep going so she wasn’t about to back down. She grinned openly at Kia’s use of her nickname and snorted in amusement. “Then start teachin’, cause I’m allllll ears.” With that, Kabira snapped in with a few short but wickedly fast jabs toward Kia’s chest and face, her hands returning to provide cover for her face and head while her body curled over and her stomach muscles tensed to prepare for a blow.

Saerith laughed at Kabira sudden questioning, she could recall a similar reaction from herself when Kia had first shown her the artificial limbs. they were interesting appendages, of that there was no doubt.
"well it's- She started to tell Kabira but stopped as Kia asked Kabira if she wanted to learn how to fight. The words were barley out of Kia's mouth when Saerith's gut told her it was a bad move. Quicker then Saerith's eye could follow Kabira pivoted and her fist lashed out quick as a snake in Kia's direction.

Saerith had never seen anyone move so fast but it appeared it was not fast enough because the next thing she knew Kabira was lying on her back looking confused. Saerith's shock wearing off she felt the familiar urge to flee from the conflict, but this time it warred with her interest in seeing the fight stopped. She compromised by circling away from the two women who were once again locked in a struggle and drawing her pistol. A quick flick of her thumb and her it was set to stun.

Kiala watched Kabira's movements closely. From the slightest twitch of an eyebrow, to the way the young woman rolled her hips before a punch. Kiala blocked most of the punches thrown at her but allowed one to slip through her guard and connect with her jaw. Her head rocked to the side from the blow. The girl was strong, Kiala had to give her that. The next punch that flew in at her she caught in her cybernetic hand, and then lashed out with a open palmed strike to Kabiras chest with her right. The blow was aimed right between the small womans breast.

She released Kabiras hand at the moment her hand would impact before launching a short series of jabs, her hands only slightly closed, "Dont keep your fist closed..keep them like this, that way...you can easily switch to this" she grabs for Kabira to flip her onto her back and again. As the young woman lands Kiala drops ontop of her, her knees pinning the young womans arms and her left arm drawn back to strike,"The main option here is to simply beat your oponant into submission or unconciousness..I however, from that small gap beneath her wrist, and foot long, slender blade emerges, Have other options open to me.But this is a training sesion. Kiala gets up quickly and moves away, the blade retreating back into her arm. She takes a ready stance again, "care to try that on me??". Kiala's expresion was blank and neutral,"I can teach you to use your oponants strength against them..I could even teach you to kill some one with a blow..a kick, with two fingers aimed at specific points on the body. Kiala's tone was flat and emotionless as she spoke to Kabira.
