Name: Carlando
Race: Hutt
Age: 60 (Most Hutts are kept in their parents’ pouches until 50. He was removed and taken by the Jedi at 35. Contact Jace for more details.)
Height: 3'5"
Weight: 250 lbs
Appearance: Carlando’s thick skin has a deep blue tint to it. His irises are also blue, a pale powder shade. He is still a child in Hutt terms, so he has yet to develop the large amounts of fat that would render him near immobile. Thus, he is quite muscular and therefore surprisingly fast.
Birth place: Mos Zabu, Tatooine
Faction: Jedi
Rank: Youngling
Bio: The son of a petty gambling boss in the backwater Tatooine town of Mos Zabu, Carlando was removed from his father’s pouch at the unusually young age of 35, due to his father fearing for his own life. The little huttlet was first noticed by an Ithorian Jedi following a rumor of a Dark Jedi in the town. Wanting to get rid of his son to prevent the possibility of being blackmailed, the older Hutt asked the Jedi to take his huttlet away. Sensing the huttlet's connection to the Force, as well as wanting to give the child a better life, the Ithorian agreed, taking Carlando to the temple. Carlando displayed an above average connection to the Force for a Hutt, on par with the average Human trainee. After being subjected to remarks about both his weight and race from both younglings and Padawans, Carlando became somewhat withdrawn, preferring to spend time in the temple library or meditating instead of mingling with others. In the company of masters and knights, however, the Huttlet found a modicum of courage. He will look an older Jedi in the eye, but hardly lift his eyes from the floor when dealing with fellow younglings or padawans. In particular, he was known to have long conversations and debates with the temple librarian. He always questioned the librarian about the Great Holocron in the temple, but was always turned away. From an early age, he displayed a natural affinity for Force abilities related to Telekinesis, able to pull things from the other end of a room while others were still mastering objects a few feet away. He has also been documented as healing minor bruises on at least one occasion. The Council questioned Carlando from the start, but the huttlet vehemently denounced his Hutt bretheren. Because of his body shape, Carlando's training was different than most younglings', focusing on dual-phase sabers and staffs instead of normal sabers.

A group of younglings huddled in a corner, mostly humanoids, but with one Hutt among them. “I’m going to be a Grand Master and beat lots of Dark Jedi in combat!” boasted a male Human. The Hutt move towards him, but didn’t look the boy in the eye. “That’s not what being a Jedi is about…” he said meekly. The Human eyed the Hutt. “Yeah? Well then what -is- being a Jedi about, Fatty McCriminal?” he asked. The Hutt looked up, hesitated for a moment, then firmly replied. “It’s about protecting people. Keeping them -safe- from Dark Jedi. Defeating the Dark Side doesn’t mean a thing if we can’t even keep people safe. If all you can do is fight, you’re going to end up alone.”
