The brown and orange planet twinkled from the light of the Tatoo system's twin suns and the Gambler's Dawn swayed toward the planet on its descent. The freighter pushed through the planet's atmosphere, shook once and in the cockpit a faint alarm sounded with a blinking indicator on one of the many instrument panels. Her captain seemed not to notice it, or rather he ignored it as the ship continued on its course.
A transmission came through on the comms a moment later and the gravelly voice addressed the captain in thick Huttese. Kayan Aledor flipped a switch on the comm panel and after finally growing impatient with the alarm, gave a swift kick to the instrument station before responding. "Yeah, docking request for Mos Espa." He stated, giving the instrument panel another kick and with a grin and an exhalation, the alarm stopped as the docking coordinator on the other end replied in kind, directing him down.
As the surface came into view, Kayan brought the ship over the desert city of Mos Espa and was careful to avoid any of the transports that also occupied the skies. Soaring ahead, the captain located the correct berth in the docking ring and set the ship down smoothly in the sand.
For a moment, Kayan simply sat; reclining back into his chair and staring ahead out the viewport. It had been a long trip and in some ways he felt relieved to be back in familiar territory. His hauls through this sector had routinely brought him to Tatooine and the young spacer had grown somewhat of a reputation at a few of the local holes. After a breath, he finally hefted himself from the beat up pilot's chair and marched through the access corridor to the ship's hub making a mental checklist. Boots... blaster... some credits... and when he was certain he had everything he needed, the captain slapped the ramp release and the cool interior of the ship was suddenly beaten back by the almost relentless heat of the desert planet.
~~
After a brief meeting with a docking coordinator, Kayan walked through the dusty streets of the city and cautious not to step in something unpleasant, or be stepped on by something equally so. His direction was steady and after many stopovers in Mos Espa over the years, some would have found it strange if the man didn't find himself at the local cantina. It was a squat building, mostly underground and a small gathering of patrons loitered outside of the establishment in varying degrees of intoxication. One of them hunched over a guide rail and vomited and after Kayan had passed them, he muttered through a faint smile. "Home, sweet home."
In truth it had become somewhat of a home, at least as much as a planetary location could have been to him - and there were regulars that knew him by name or by face. He was younger than the average spacer, though his youth had no bearing on his prowess and Kayan was quite capable of handling his own. There had been times in the past where he had been viewed as an easy mark, but the young pilot was quick with a blaster and soon enough, most knew to simply let him be if he wasn't drunk and making inappropriate comments.
Music drifted up from below and the captain stepped into the dim atmosphere of the cantina, watching the dancers briefly before continuing over to the bar. The bartender barely gave him regard and to be honest, it's how Kayan liked it. He was a heavy set man that seemed not only tough as durasteel, but he never smiled or spoke that Kayan had ever noticed. He ordered synthale as was his standard and once he had his glass in hand, retreated back into a corner to watch the dancers.

The steady scratch, clang of scrap metal being kicked cut into the air as Glem walked purposefully down a dusty Tatooine street. Her step was heavy, and she pounded her staff on the ground with vigor, its brown and white length delightfully cool beneath her grasp. The Nerf-herder! The fool! Her Gungan face was twisted with a deep scowl, but it still managed to be less-than-revolting. She fumed, her violet eyes sparking with hatred.
It was just a special delivery, that's why she was stuck here. A Hutt wanted a package delivered to Tatooine by her personally. The Hutt knew one of her patrons, and had trusted Glem with the package. Just as he damn well should have! Glem never lost a delivery, never. And she was quick too. The recipient on Tatooine had been most pleased. But then she ran into trouble. Glem, owning no ship of her own, had Hitch-hiked with a Duro bounty hunter. Who, much to Glem's fury, had just lost his ship in a game of gambling. Normally, she would've sought passage with the new owner... but the winner was a Dark Jedi, and Glem would never, never, seek passage with one of those. Ever.
Which left her stuck on Tatooine, the most vile, awful, horrible planet ever... it was so... so... dry. Glem could almost feel her skin flaking off. The heat had taken away its shine, and the violet tatoos swirling across her lilac skin looked more like charcoal scribblings than intricate ink-work. Glem hated those tatoos, but there was no getting rid of them. Though, she couldn't get too depressed. Her pet Gizka, Greek, cooed as he hopped by her feet. It almost made her smile.
But there was no escaping the truth. Getting passage soon would be difficult, since the core worlds weren't exactly a common stop for those who patronized Tattoine. (So why had she gotten here in the first place if she could have gotten stuck! Oh yeah, the Duro had seemed capable. Stupid gamblers.) Glem made a mental note to brutally murder the next Pazaak player she came across. Maybe she could slowly work her way center-ward, where travel was easy and passage simple to find. There was more business there, anyway.
Something did manage to pull Glem out of her dark mood, however. She heard the roar of engines, and looked up at the sky, shielding the sun with a raised hand. Her eyes locked on the ship. Ha! That was not a standard model! It was at least worth a shot, anyway. Smuggler... she hoped the owner of that ship was a smuggler... For the right number of credits, she could get anywhere in the Galaxy! ... not that she was rich, but... Well, it was worth trying, in any event.
The landing pad was on the other side of town... but Glem had a good idea of where she'd find the pilot. Her step quickened as she set a determined stride, Greek clicking unhappily as he followed hastily along.
~
Seventeen minutes later, Glem strode through the Cantina's claustrophobic doorway. She'd made a quick stop at the Landing Pad and... persuaded an employee to give his best guess as to where the pilot would be. Messing with a desperate Gungan was not advisable. Glem, however, was quite pleased to calculate that the trip would have taken twice as long for anyone else. Granted, that trade official wasn't too happy she'd used his roof as a shortcut, but with any luck, she'd never see the sorry Human again. That was the problem with that species; always thought they knew everything; and plentiful too. Like rats. Glem smirked at the analogy, though she'd never speak her opinion aloud.
Glem slipped against a wall and looked around, assessing the situation. She'd never been in the Cantina before, and it took her a moment to adjust to the cacophony. She was used to her solitude.
Her sharp eyes flitted back and forth, from face to face. She knew what she was looking for... Ah. There, at the bar; the most likely candidate. He was young, and might even have been considered handsome by those of his species. But Glem really didn't care.
She stayed where she was for the moment, her nails (though they were more like claws,) glimmering poison-green as they clicked along her staff. Greek hopped away, searching for scraps under the various tables. He'd keep himself out of trouble. Glem simply observed as the pilot, (her source hadn't known his name,) walked over to watch the dancers. Typical.
Glem found herself digressing. She scowled again, for many of the dancers took their work for granted. Some argued the job was little better than slavery. But Glem had known slavery; she had known what it meant to be itemized. None of them knew how good they had it... but such thoughts took her thinking down a dark path, and Glem had more important things to concern herself with.
Her step was purposeful, but not calling for attention, as she crossed the cantina and approached the pilot. Glem wasn't one to mince words.
"You pilot the Gambler's Dawn." It wasn't a question. "I'm looking to purchase passage to the core worlds. What say you?" Glem's accent was nearly non-existent, save for the slightest s after her 'you's. Her look was intense; perhaps moreso than she intended it to be. Inter-personal relations wasn't exactly her strong point. Usually, she was a bit more personable, but her current situation had put Glem in a contrary mood. Even so, that same expression made it clear that she'd be quite displeased to get 'no' as an answer.

Mos Espa wasnt much to different from Mos Eisley. The annoying grains of sand still found themselves in places Garnet wished they wouldnt in his HK-41 body. People still traversed the area as the twin suns overhead beared down relentless upon them, but it didnt affect him because of the cooling systems he had installed among the first many mod's he had placed on his form.
In all truth, the Shard grew tired of Tatooine in general. No where on the planet was it different. Sand, people, Sand People and buildings of many colonies dotting the planet. He had long since grown tired of things he had found fasinating about the place and its peoples. While he endured the planet for so long to complete his training, its use had come to an end for him. It was time to move on, there had to be more planets then just his own homeworld and Tatooine. The HK-41 shell moved down the street, not giving glance to anyone or anything that passed as Garnet's mind began to think, something his race was all to good at. If you lived in large crystalline clusters for up to 1000 years, never moving, never doing anything but think, you would as well.
How to get off the planet. Ship of course. But how to acquire one? It would look odd for a mere droid to ask for a shuttle to offplanet. It would raise suspision and then the whole "wipe" mess would happen. Apparently normal droids if let to long without memory wipes would start to create personalities of their own. This of course didnt affect Garnet but it was still annoying and the wim to use the Force on the person whom was attempting to wipe him nearly impossible to hold back. Garnet had actually done it once, Force pushing a mechanic so far back he crashed into a wall but he concluded it was a power overload. The Shard generally avoided such contact now, preferring to mind his own business.
A logical way to find passage was an unoffical courier. Someone who didnt care what the cargo was. Garnet had once been told that these sort were called "smugglers" and he reason the best way to get in contact with such a individual would be a cantina. However cantina's were a rather..tricky problem..for a droid to get into. There were many limitations to a droid body, the Shard realized long ago but it was better then sitting still forever. With a little nudge of the Force, he could get into one.
Garnet made his way down the street, his silver metal body glistening in the light as his blood red photoreceptors stared ahead unmoving. A sign caught his eye as he passed by a building, his audioreceptors picking up the faint haunting noise of what most sentinents called "music". The Shard found it more a distraction, it didnt serve a purpose to him. Walking up to the entrance, he was about to enter when a rather vicious looking Trandoshan stopped him, the scaled claw roughly slamming into his chest cavity.
"No droids aloud. Get out of here you scrap metal", it hissed dangerously. Garnet's head swiveled so that he could fully view the creatures face. Reptilian eyes glared back at him as the Shard concentrated and the Force tendriled from his crystalline form. Outward it went and hit the Trandoshan, giving Garnet the link he needed.
"There is no problem with my entrance. Im free to go", Garnet projected his thoughts into the proper droid part that translated it into Basic. The lizardman stood calm for a moment then nodded slowly, its eyes looking dreamy and distant as it stepped aside. "My thanks" was all Garnet said as he entered.

The carbonated liquid tickled the roof of his mouth as he sipped the ale and with an almost nod, Kayan swallowed the alcoholic mouthful of bronze beverage. He kept his ear out as much as an eye - cautious, but not nearly enough to seem paranoid as that kind of attitude could draw more stares than he'd like.
After another sip the youthful human had all but turned to find a table when an abrupt... sentient approached him. He was convinced they were a female in their respected species (though with some, it's hard to be sure), but for the life of him, Kayan couldn't even guess just what species the woman was. She spoke almost as abruptly as she had appeared. "You pilot the Gambler's Dawn."
Kayan went to speak, but the offworlder interrupted his train of thought, even as his mouth hung agape. "I'm looking to purchase passage to the core worlds. What say you?" She sounded somewhat impatient and the thought tugged at the pilot's sense of relaxation and threatened to fire it into space.
The pilot waited a moment in silence expecting her to continue and as he felt she had finished, he managed a diplomatic, albeit sheepish grin. "Ok. You got me." He'd been approached like this before, in fact it was almost exactly like the time one of his competitors baited him outside and left him unconscious in the alley so he could take a shipment out from under his nose. About the only difference is the last woman had been a better actor. "Let me guess, Garion sent you? He stated matter-of-factly.
He didn't give her a chance to reply, he was certain of what her answer would be so instead simply nodded preemptively. "Ain't about to work this time, though you can at least tell him he's getting better taste in women. I mean, you're pretty descent looking for a..." He paused. "Just what species are you anyway?" He interrupted himself, waving a hand as if it physically erased the question. "Never mind. Just tell that wamprat that I'm going to wait here for a customer and he won't stuff me around again."
With that said, Kayan backed up a step and gave a light nod with his glass raised. "By the way miss, nice meetin' you. His tone was polite and with another sip, the spacer turned and walked over to a table where he set the glass down on the smooth surface. With a light shrug to himself, Kayan twisted into a seat on the bench and rested his bare arms out to each side on the backrest. He was, however; suddenly aware that the woman hadn't moved.
A terrible realization wrenched his gut like a vibroblade. Even over the music, he was sure that his voice would carry. "You didn't come here because of Garion... did you?" He felt bad. Actually he felt worse than bad and the look on his face no doubt conveyed the discomfort that twinged at his innards.

Nadroj commonly found himself on the planet of Tatooine, though this was the first time he'd been to Mos Espa. Then again, he rarely tried to visit the same place twice so that he would not be easily recognized. Bounty hunters were frequently in places like this and other towns, so he rarely stay in one place for very long, but he was always compelled to keep coming back to Tatooine. Tatooine was probably the scummiest part of the galaxy due to the heat, slavers, and the Hutts; and with the combination of the three there was always work for Nadroj to do while he was on the planet.
So, Nadroj walked through the dusty streets of Mos Espa looking for a cantina. He had come to this town from another by hitching the ride on the back of a speeder, but he had not been in Mos Espa long enough to scout the area out. He wanted to wet his lips, though he knew in this part of Tatooine getting a hold of Arkanian Sweet Milk was near impossible so he'd have to settle without his Blood Mammary and drink only Bantha-blood Fizz.
It was hot, no doubt about that little fact, so Nadroj's clothing were a little more revealing than usual. His white shirt was completely unbuttoned revealing his well chiseled chest and abdomen. His long trousers were rolled up the the knees and he had his jacket tucked away in the pack on his back. His vibroblade was in its sheath attached to his belt with the tip of the sheath just barely above the ground, enough not to drag. And of course, Nadroj had his lightsaber hidden under the vibroblade sheath.
Eventually, in what appeared to be just a dusty hole in the ground, Nadroj entered what he assumed was a cantina. He was correct, and he made his way to the bar while scanning the area. There were some dancers and the average rough looking patrons, though he did eye a Gungan. The thought of a Gungan on Tatooine seemed strange but he quickly pushed the thought away as there are stranger things in the galaxy.
Anyway he walked up to the bartender and turned to a human male that was obvious drunk beside of him. Nadroj casually said to the drunk, "You will buy my drink."
The drunk nodded and bought Nadroj a Bantha-blood fizz. The bartender gave him the drink, and Nadroj took the drink with him to watch the dancers. Taking sips of the alcohol made of bantha blood, he stood in front of the dancers. His first thought was that he should bed one of the dancers that night, so he called out, "Hey girls, when do you get off?" They didn't answer and only kept on dancing. "You know it is not polite to ignore people," Nadroj continued to talk but the dancers only continued to ignore him.
Nadroj would just wait until the girls stopped dancing and then he'd catch one or a few of them. He got another drink from the bar, with the same drunk paying, and he was starting to get a little bored. Starting a barfight now would be a bad idea since he was not drunk enough yet and the dancers would probably be facing trouble. So, he sat back and continued to watch the dancers, though he noticed that the Gungan was talking to a man. The conversation looked heated but he only glanced back at the them whenever he lost interest in the girls.
Also, Nadroj noticed a droid entering the cantina which was a rather strange sight. Usually droids had to wait outside for their masters as droids took up space and didn't drink. Nadroj had always had a dislike of droids and a strong hate for them ever since he had lost his left arm to a droid. He did not know what to expect from the droid that entered but it had made him cautious.

ooc// xD I love it. //
Shock was Glem's predominate emotion. Shock and indignance, but mostly shock. What the Kriff was he talking about? Garion? Who did he think he was, talking to her like that? Somebody with a ship and a life, that's who.
Glem's expression was quite blank as the pilot's words carried, but only just, across the cantina. "You didn't come here because of Garion... did you?"
Her answer was a simple, forceful, "No." By this time, her mind was beginning to catch up, which would have usually resulted in her temper flaring. However, the pilot looked like he'd just swallowed Hutt slime, which was a sufficient apology for the weary Gungan.
For the first time grateful for the shade of the Cantina, Glem began to make her way to the Pilot's new seat. Suddenly, she felt a force slam into her shoulder. Glem looked up into the dead eyes of a pig-Gammorean. Instinctively, she swing her staff, Quick as a Krayt Dragon, toward the offender's head. However, Glem's muscles tensed as she stopped herself, three inches from giving the Pig a concussion and a new outlook on life. The drunkard hadn't even noticed. The last thing Glem wanted to do was get herself in the middle of a barfight. Again. So she put her temper in check, and decided to direct her fury toward getting off the damn Planet. Glem finished her trek, still fuming.
A sigh of exasperation huffed from her chest, as she slid into the seat opposing the pilot's. Her expression made it clear the mishap had been forgiven. ... but only just.
"Do you always start business discussions like this?" Glem didn't give him a chance to retort. "My name is Glem A'quae. I make deliveries of the... sensitive kind. I'm sure you're familiar with the concept. I was here on business, but my ride... fell through. It would please me very much to get out of this... this desert." She said with the word with a surprising amount of venom, as if it was a place worse than Hell. Glem paused, done for the moment. But then, something else occurred to her, which she might as well get out of the way. "You asked before, and so I shall tell you. I am a Gungan. We hail from Naboo." Why did her voice crack when she said that? Damn! Oh, she would have given anything to be back on Naboo... but that would never happen, she could never go home. Curse these stupid memories! They always popped up at the most inopportune times. Right now, it would have been, you know, nice to at least appear like she had everything together.

Kayan exhaled deeply as the woman approached him and had almost been involved in an altercation with perhaps the ugliest Gammorean he'd seen in a while. She hefted a staff with amazing grace and control, a stark contrast to her almost strict tone. Before she could incapacitate the drunkard, she must've seen through his stupor and stopped herself and it seemed without drawing too much attention. After a brief moment she stepped closer to where Kayan now sat.
When she spoke that almost forceful "No", his feelings were proved to be correct. She wasn't a ruse and in fact she was a would be client after all. She continued without giving the human a chance to reply to her and, taking a seat; explained her situation - albeit with the vaguest of details but to a degree that Kayan himself would respect. He'd had that kind of talk as well in the past.
"A Gungan." The human parroted back - though his tone was easily understood as one of wonder and not of any level of sarcasm that was typical of him. "I've only ever heard some stories of your species." He leaned in and took a sip of his drink then set the glass off to one side to keep it from being in between the two sentients. Absent mindedly Kayan ran a hand through his hair not a moment later and met Glem eye to eye, though still brandishing a sheepish grin and after a short pause, shook his head lightly. "About that whole thing... I'm sorry. Some days my mouth tries to negotiate without checking in with the rest of my head. Name's Kayan and yeah I know just what you mean by sensitive."
He took a moment to think over her proposition and scanned the bar at the same time. He tried to spot anything that might indicate if she was in any serious trouble and - aside from a one-armed patron who had been gawking at the dancers and a droid who made his way into the place - there was no other sign of would-be trouble, though the droid itself caused him to feel a mild uneasiness that he couldn't place.
There were days when the pilot was hard pressed to pick up a strange offworlder who was obviously out of place, though this wasn't one of those days. His ship needed work, though it still ran smoothly enough; and it was work that required credits he didn't have available. Depending on the Gungan's destination, it could be just enough. With a look around the cantina, Kayan tried to take stock of the locals. Off the top of his head, he could count a few pilots - but he knew them to charge prices he could easily undercut. His gaze drifted back to the woman who sat ahead of him. "So where ya goin' and how much are you offering?" He asked, more interested in the destination.

The place was noisey for sure, the sound he had heard faintly on the outside he now saw coming from a group of people across the room blowing into long tube like devices, holding their fingers over tiny holes at the top to produce different sounds. It would've been interesting to study such a contraption if not for the fact it gave off such an annoying sound.
Garnet scanned the room, seeing scarcely clad females walked around poles in weird ways. This apparently was of interest to several men sitting around them as they cheered and hollered as the girls moved. His Master had explained many emotions that beings felt and if he had to guess on what was extruding off the men through his Force sense it was lust. In another portion of the room, many people croweded around tables with several small rectangular pieces, holding them and watching the other persons pieces. Strange to say the least but the Shard assumed they made sense of it all.
The droid moved against a wall near the entrance where he could let himself concentrate with the Force. As he did, the wave of emotions came at him like a gentle current and this was what he wanted. He needed to find people of the proper motivation for the task that was required to get off this "rock" as some people would call Tatooine. Though the planet was nothing close to a rock of course, he was sure this was just a degegatory term used by the locals who hated their existence here.
Hard to tell with people.
Garnet sifted through the trash, mostly the feelings of greed and lust, pushing away the weird emotions of men who sat at the bar with empty mugs who didnt seem to think on the same level as the others. If he had to guess, this probably meant they were drunk. Again, hard to tell with a lot of the beings of the galaxy. They were a curious lot as always. He continued to sift when the Force gave him a nudge in a corner of the room where a single man sat quietly.
Zooming in on him with his photoreceptors, Garnet concluded he was a human of the male variety. He was talking with a strange being, he had never seen a bizzare creature however the Force continued to whisper that they were of interest to him. Of course, it didnt do this in normal terms, it just gave Garnet the sense that they were what he was looking for. But first he wanted to listen in, to see if he could pick up any mentioning of "smuggling" and cross planet travel, if he could do that, then he would contact the man personally.
To avoid raising suspision, he didnt act like he was moving towards the two purposely. Garnet weaved through people and came to a seat at the bar close to where they sat, perfect distance where he could tune in his audioreceptors at. Positioning himself, the Shard was about to do adjust the receptors when a rather heavy set man came to him, standing on the other side of the bar.
"If you dont drink, you dont sit down here. Im not sure how you got in but we'll fix th-" the gruff man got about done with his words when Garnet quickly gripped him in the Force. Not in a choking manner but the Shard's influence drowned the man who stood quiet for a moment with a distant stare.
"You dont mind me sitting here. Im waiting for my master. You should go attend to other matters" the droid spoke low, trying to avoid others from hearing him to raise any suspision. The man just nodded, similar to what the bouncer outside had did and walked away. With the big man leaving him alone for now, Garnet made the proper adjustments to his audioreceptors to pick up the words the human and creature were saying to one another.
The male seemed to ramble on about someone, with the woman not replying for some time but finally said she wasnt affilated with whomever the male was speaking of. The word Gungan was brought about and Garnet concluded that that must be what the strange creature's race was called. Despite his curious nature wanting to take hold, The Shard hoped he wouldnt have to wait long and that this wasnt some wild goose chase, it was a bother getting in and he could only hope this man that the Force had told him to talk to was worth the time.
However as he listened he couldnt completely ignore the fact that someone else in the cantina, though Garnet hadnt pinpointed it, was Force sensitive.

OOC: Ello people, sorry Ive taken this long to post. I was gone all day yesterday at a wedding. Being a videographer is a good job hehe. Anyways I shall slowly but surely sneak my way into the story.
Deep in space, Derga waited patiently. His vessel the Starburner floated through space, silently and almost unseeable towards Tatooine, which to Derga, though a horrible planet, had much opportunity. And to his knowledge, much opportunity was to be had here this day. His target was supposedly on the surface, trying to get off the wretched planet, though he would ensure she would either leave with him, or never leave.
Derga slowly rubbed his sore leg. The bacta patch over his calf had healed all the damage, though it was still sore from his last mission. It was a interesting one, being able to smack the Republic in it's face by breaking into one of their own top prisons and steal at least two dozen high security prisoners. He grinned darkly, his glowing red eyes narrowing in thought and his razor-sharp, white teeth reflected the faint amount of light within his cockpit. Suddenly a beeping interrupted his thoughts, coming from his console. He quickly looked over it, seeing it was coming from his sensor unit. He smiled widely. Finally, he had a opening to land on Tatooine without being seen.
The moment he realized that the opening was there, he took his vessel's controls into his hand and rocketed down to the surface at top speed. He followed his sensor's cooridinate instructions and headed towards Mos Espa, quickly landing in a empty and abandoned hanger bay. He checked all his systems, ensuring everything was fine then stood up and headed down the hatch and down several passageways to his armory. Once outside the door, he tapped in code and waited for the small blast door to slide open, then walked in. He glanced about, considering what he may need. Derga thought for a moment before quickly heading towards the first weapon rack.
Derga quickly picked his usual DR-234 Sniper Rifle, taking the full kit and sniper rifle bag. He set it down next to the door, then turned and headed to the rear of the armory, stopping in front of a large armored locker. He tapped in the passcode for it then pulled it open to reveal his custom-made Sith Recon Armor. He quickly pulled it down and started pulling it on, from head to toe. Finally once it was all on, he turned and started taking bits of gear here and there from a pair of blasters, glop grenades, a small tube of C23 High Explosive, and a pair of throwing knives. He slipped it all into his combat belt and bandolier, slipped his sniper rifle bag over his shoulder. He then left the armory, hearing the door slide shut behind him.
He quickly headed for the exit ramp in his Dynamic-class Gunship, lowering the ramp and activating the security system. Lastly, he set the ship's autopilot to be ready to head for wherever he was in the city, in case he needed a quick pickup. Derga took one last glance around, feeling his wrist to ensure his lightsaber was ready to be used. Knowing he was ready, he headed down the ramp, hearing it shut behind him as he left the old, dark hanger bay. Derga was now in his predator mood, ready to hunt his prey and to capture it, wherever it may be. He set off in the direction of a nearby information dealer he knew. The hunt had begun.
OOC: His vessel is a Dynamic-class Gunship, basically a Ebon Hawk just with lots more weapons, armor, etc, and its black and silver. Anyways, sorry I took so long in posting and hope this was good. I'm definitely not a very elegant writer haha.

ooc// Meant to say this earlier, but Grim, glad you got Garnet approved! Thus being said, dun forgets that Glem is a Gungan. // Glem almost breathed a sigh of relief as the pilot-- Kayan-- drifted away from talk of her species. It was an... uncomfortable subject for Glem. It reminded her just how very alone she was. In all her years away from Naboo-- she couldn't even call it 'home' anymore-- She'd seen only two other Gungans. But both of them could have gone home if they wanted to, and Glem hated them for it. Though, there were a few others... but their professions disgusted her so much she wanted to retch. Glem she did her best not to think about them. Hence the relief at the subject-shift. Where she wanted to go, he'd asked. "Corellia, Coruscant would be most convenient. But really, any trade-hub in the Core band. I'm not picky." Really, as long as it wasn't Sith space-- or desert-- Glem was satisfied. She'd deal with the former, when she had to, but the latter... it would suffice to say that she never wanted to come back, ever again. But she couldn't let Kayan see that she was desperate; smugglers always plied for more credits. Handing over a lever like that was foolish. When Glem first started her business, she'd been the one naming prices. Though, the first time she hit a less-than-honest mode of transport, her credits had been practically stolen. She'd learned to avoid making the first offer, whenever possible. So many times, the counter-offer was what held the most leverage. "What do you think such passage is worth?" There was a subtle edge to Glem's tone that made it clear she already had an answer in mind. Her thinking sharpened, and she seemed to be moving faster than everything around her, able to anticipate, pre-judge. Glem always felt this way when she was haggling a bargain, and she loved it. If Glem had a vice, this was it. Luckily, hers tended to save her credits, and not the other way around. As she was waiting for Kayan's answer, a glint of metal caught her eye. It was probably just some piece of jewelry, but Glem glanced at it out of habit. What she saw surprised her, but the emotion didn't make its way into her expression. There was a droid in the Cantina, exchanging words with the Bartender Glem had observed earlier. How strange. But Glem had seen stranger (heck, she was stranger,) and so she paid it no more attention.

Derga, having just visited his info dealer, was happy. His quarry was supposedly nearby in a cantina, or at least if it still was. He would quickly have to make his way there and observe his prey, see it's habits and how difficult it may be to capture it. He quickly made his way stealthily towards the cantina by directions from signs along the way.
Finally the cantina coming into view, Derga darted towards the entrance unseen by most nearby individuals thanks to his stealth skills and Force skills, then slowed down as he walked into the cantina. He stopped for a moment to glance about the crowded room, trying to see if he could spot his prey. Unable to as of yet, he slowly and as stealthily as possible made his way to a dark corner of the cantina. He sat down at the table there, keeping his back to a wall and slowly observing the entire room, his eyes searching for his quarry.
Though he kept busy looking for the bounty, he could feel something tugging at his senses. Another Force-user was in this room. Two actually. He casually glanced about the room, keeping his movements slow and casual so as not to attract any attention to himself. Finally he saw one of the users, a droid. Derga was baffled for a moment, unable to understand how a droid could be a Jedi of any kind. He finally got over his surprise and logged it deep in his brain for inspection later, finding that would be a interesting subject to investigate later. He then felt the second and glanced in the general direction, seeing a male Zeltron who seemed to be trying to gain the conversation of a couple dancing girls. He watched him in disgust a moment before turning his attention to the search.
As he returned to searching, he glimpsed the nearby holo-screen where it showed a report on a familiar place, the Republic prison he raided. He couldn't hear the words the reporter was saying in it, but he could tell they were discussing why anyone would attack a prison and free condemned criminals. He then saw a clip of a security cam, showing him and his squad raiding it, luckily it was the part where his helmut had been shot off, showing his face instead of his helmut. Had anyone seen that then him would have contacted the local officials instantly, knowing it was him. He silently chuckled, then continued his search, letting his saber hand rest on the table, ready to spring up and release the lightsaber hidden within his wrist armor, and to use it on anybody who dared threaten him.
Finally, he saw something that interested him. What he thought was a Gungan, a strange sight to behold anywhere let alone Tatooine, was seated across the room from him, speaking to what appeared to be a human male, possibly a smuggler or starfighter pilot. He watched the pair carefully, till he finally confirmed that it was a Gungan. He chuckled at the idea a Gungan would be away from their home planet of Naboo, even more so that he or she was on Tatooine. He continued to watch them, occasionally tapping his fingers on the table's surface. His prey was possibly close, but he had to ensure that his target was here before doing any move.

Kayan's question had been a simple one and though he expected a more elaborate answer, Glem's answer was still somewhat unexpected. In most ways he had thought her destination would be farther out - based on the fact he had never seen her species before. When she had answered with the Core worlds, Kayan was filled with both a sense of regret and relief.
His mind traced over the route into the Core and after a moment of silent deliberation, he knew that Coruscant was out of the question... this time. Corellia however was more than doable, it could be profitable, even in a way that would undercut any potential competition. He knew the average asking prices for this kind of a trip through a major trade route; and in situations of sensitive nature such as what the Gungan no doubt had herself involved in. He imagined how her face would appear even before he said it. "Corellia, hey? I can do that run for nine-thousand, assuming you don't have any other passengers."
It was a deal, he knew. In fact it was almost criminal that he would undersell the situation so heavily, but as it stood; his ship needed parts and they wouldn't simply end up in his possession without the credits. He kept his face calm and neutral, making it sound as though it was a once in a lifetime deal - which of course was how he liked it. "Guess it's lucky I was heading down that same lane, hey?" He let a chuckle slip slyly through and reached for his glass, nonchalantly taking a sip and almost ignoring any reaction he produced.
Kayan's attention still drifted unnoticingly toward the crowd and he caught site of the Droid that somehow managed to wriggle it's way into the cantina. His mind went over how it had eluded the staff though in the end, his attention moved back to Glem as he took yet another sip of the alcoholic beverage in his hand. Deep down he had to force himself not to speak again, risking the deal. There were too many pilots - albeit not smugglers - that could have accepted a similar arrangement and Kayan wanted to be first.

OOC: Sorry for the crap post, combination of me being sick and my muse is apparently on vacation. >.>...
After a while, Nadroj began to be quite drunk which is a difficult task for a Zeltron since they have two livers. He continued to watch the dancers, though he was beginning to loose interest. Instead his focused turned more onto the other patrons of the cantina. Though Nadroj was never too talented at Force sense, he could tell that there were other force users in the cantina. He was not sure who specifically those with the powers were, but it did not really concern him that much.
Nadroj listened to the Gungan ask for a ride from one of the spacers, a rather common occurence. People always wanted to get off the desert wasteland of Tatooine. Come to think of it, he'd need a ride off too as bounty hunters have gotten a little more bold lately. Anyway, he worry about the ride later as now he just wanted to enjoy his drinks, but the presence of that droid was starting to bother him.
With a kind of hobble in his step, Nadroj approached the droid. With a slight slur in his speech, he poked the droid around where the chest would be, "Hey, droids stay outside. Trash needs to stay with the trash." Nadroj had always hated droids with a passion, as one took his left arm. People in the medical ward at the temple also had the gaul to attempt and give him a cybernetic arm, which he still resided an anger for. He was prepared to take out his hatred of droids on this one and hopefully start a bar fight, if he could help it.

OOC: Ok I may be revealing my target finally, though not to the charecters, just the people IRL haha. Kinda has come to the point where I must show who Derga is after OOCly.
Derga had to make a move now. His GWL-made advanced HUD system gave him a 90% sure chance that the Gungan was his target, despite the fact he couldn't see her face. Also, logic just dictated it. Why would a Gungan be on Tatooine of all places, right where his source had said she would be. He calmly stood up and slid out of the stall he was in, moving along the wall to get closer to his target.
Occasionally and to his annoyance, he entered a brief spot of light. This was usually 100% unacceptable, though the current situation dictated this action. He finally found a empty table near his target, about 12 feet away. He quickly sat down, looking uninterested in the pair at pair three tables away. Silently though, he kept a extremely close eye on both of them. He could now tell that she was his target now he could see her face. Derga grinned happily, knowing now that this trip wasn't going to be worthless.
He glanced about the room again, his HUD system locking onto dozens of faces a second and checking them out. Finally it stopped at one of them. Unexpectedly it was the Force-using Zeltron drunk he had seen earlier. It seemed he had a bounty or two on his head as well, though he sadly couldn't pull up the information from his current location, needing direct access to the Holo-Net if he was to do that. He would have to keep his eye out for him. He was a ex-Jedi possibly, though it seemed likely that he could be taken down if Derga was determined, especially as he had been trained in many forms of combat over the years, from unarmed, melee, and ranged weapons. He quickly marked the man with his HUD, did the same with the Gungan, then sat back calmly and waited. Patience was key to this hunt, which he had plenty of.

Grem ran her tongue across the roof of her mouth, her Hailu twitching subconsciously. Nine-thousand credits. She'd only been paid eleven-thousand gross for the delivery, minus two-thousand for the incoming trip. (A special arrangement.) Meaning she had nine-thousand credits left. If she accepted the deal, she'd break even, but only just. And Glem did not like breaking even; no, she wanted at least something for her trouble, aside from bad memories and a severe aversion to desert planets. She really should have just accepted the fare, but Glem hated settling.
"Hm, make it eight-thousand and you have yourself a deal. Four-thousand up-front, four-thousand upon arrival." Glem drove a hard bargain. It had gotten her into trouble more than once. But once she set her mind to something... well, she was stubborn to a fault. But no matter how desperately she wanted to leave, Glem couldn't help but squeeze by with the best deal possible. It was stupid, but she was incorrigible.
Recognizing such, Glem set a resolve. She'd start saving up for her own ship. Sure, it would sit unused much of the time, but maybe she could expand her business... and she wouldn't have to deal with stupid stuff like this... and she wouldn't be stuck on tatooine... her inner-voice wined like an offended toddler. Granted, she had no idea how to fly a ship... but such skills could be bought, right? ... probably not.
Glem almost chuckled to herself as she heard Greek cooing nearby. He was looting for table-scraps, no doubt. The critter was just as incorrigible as she was. Glem hoped Kayan liked Gizka. She found it most prudent to present that bit of information after the contract was signed. Figuratively speaking, of course; since smugglers really didn't like dealing in contracts. Greek was hardly noticeable, anyway. He was smart. Well, as smart as a Gizka could be. Glem had trained him well, but he still had a mind of his own. Some days, Glem was tempted to question his status as non-sentient. And he didn't raid food-stores to boot. Well, most of the time, anyway. But Glem felt that particular bit wasn't necessary to mention. He was her only steady companion; she didn't know what she'd do without him.
Even as she thought about Greek, another conclusion rose to the forefront of her mind, brought about by her consideration of the delivery. It was something that had been nagging her since the very beginning, but she berated herself for not realizing it sooner. This had been too special of a delivery, too special of an arrangement. Glem's value lay in her ability to quickly maneuver urban-sprawl, not escorting things cross-galaxy. But the lure of credits and the cheap travel had been too much for the Gungan to resist... Glem got the sinking feeling that she'd waltzed right into a trap.
Since when did you get so damn predictable?! Kriff! Glem just hoped her suspicions wouldn't be confirmed... Now, just after she had made her counter-offer, she regretted it. She should have just accepted the fare, and got the kriff off the planet. Breaking even would be worth her life.
If she hadn't known better, Glem would have suspected Kayan was part of the plot as well. But even her paranoid nature assured her that he could be trusted. Either that, or he was a darn-good actor. Familiar unease creeping into the roots of her haillu, Glem awaited the Kayan's acceptance-- or rejection-- of her counter offer, letting none of her new-found desperation become apparent.

OOC: Hmm what Im having a hard time deciding is how is Derga going to make his move... Theres several possbilities heh. One would be just to tranq her now (or attempt to ^_^), then grab and go. But not sure that would be much fun for the others hehe. So I think Derga's going to just wait, follow the supposed 3 to the ship, either sneak aboard using his stealth and Force skills, or a ambush in space, as his ship is specially equipped for that sort of thing.... We shall have to see. For now, I shall wait and see what opportunities arise.

Post by Kayan on Jun 30, 2009 3:45:58 GMT -5
His wait for an answer had finally paid off, but even as she spoke the words, Kayan's heart sank a little. Her offer was... a bit lower than he thought and the pilot silently kicked himself for letting her have room to haggle. Even more so was that she wanted to split the payment and a fifty-fifty was never comfortable.
He gave her a moment as he thought it over, trying his best to read her face. Something about it seemed rushed, like she had somewhere to get to - or something to get away from. Eight-thousand may have been less than what he needed for his ship, but something deep down told him that if he didn't take the fare; that he would somehow regret it. It was with this final thought that Kayan found himself running a hand through his hair and after a quick sigh, leaned in closer to the Gungan. "You drive a hard bargain... eight-thousand? All right, but -" He interjected, "six upfront. I promise you there won't be anyone here willing to fly out of the 'Rim for less than ten."
He waited patiently for her response and he knew whatever was said in the next moment would be the final thoughts on the deal. He forced a grin, trying to show it was no sweat to accept the price, but still he felt that sting in his gut like somehow there was more to this than he knew. He reached for his glass once more and lifted it to his lips, swilling the last of the carbonated liquid. He met her gaze again and set the glass down, making a move to stand up. "I've got to prep the 'Dawn so if you agree, I'm in Bay 19, but I'm guessing you already knew that. I've got an hour or two before I take off, with... or without you." His offer was sincere, and he took the extra second to flash a friendly grin.
Casually the spacer moved out from behind the table and spotted where the droid now sat, facing a pink skinned humanoid. Something still bothered him about the droid, but even as he passed through the crowd, he did what he could to push it from his mind. He was playing it rather open to leave a potential client like that, but he hoped that she was in as much of a time restraint as he thought. With any luck, she'd follow soon behind him and he couldn't afford to be lost in a train of thought about the strange patron.
The Tatooine day would soon fade into night and with it there would be the increased chance of a sand storm. Though he liked the planet, he really didn't feel like being marooned for a night. Something about having the choice to leave being taken away disagreed with him, but like the droid - Kayan did what he could to force the thought away as he neared the stairs that would lead him out of the cantina.

Garnet had been to busy listening to the conversation between the Gungan and human to notice the being poking at his chestplate. The action snapped him out of his listening and his head turned to view the sentinent who had rather rudely disturbed him. The Shard was about to ignore the being, the tone of voice suggested that he was intoxicated to a point.
"Trash needs to stay with the trash"
Until he said that last bit.
The Shard had learned many emotions over his time with the Jedi Master who had taught him about his gift and had led him to a new life. The one he was experiencing now, if he could recall his master's description, was bewilderment and irritation.
''If trash is to stay outside, then why do you find yourself in here" the Shard replied with a calm tone, not really wanting to stir trouble but to reply in a manner to show his dissaproval of the man's actions. However through the Force, he could tell this one wanted trouble. Along with that fact, Garnet realized this man had been one of the few Force sensitives in the room.
The Shard decided the best course of action was to use intimidation. Perhaps if he could take on a threatening attitude, the drunk would leave him well enough alone. Standing up, his photoreceptors never leaving the target, he stood over him and spaced his arms as if ready to use them. The lightsaber that had remained unused inside his arm was their incase the being decided to cause anymore trouble. The crystalline creature waited inside the droid body now, waiting for the man to make his move to attack or stand down.
"I believe it would be in your best interest to leave me to my business, sir", the last word of that sentence was Garnet's last attempt at being civil. It was in the man's ballpark now.

Glem nodded silently as Kayan took his leave.
As soon as he was out of sight, a tremendous sigh of relief fled from her chest. She could tell his acceptance of the offer had been reluctant, and Glem knew he must have been at least a little desperate to not insist on a higher fare. He had accepted though, and Glem almost felt bad for pushing the price lower.
Almost.
Because no matter how much she frowned upon herself for such things, she couldn't afford the altruism. He probably could. That, and the deep feeling of unease which had become so familiar these past years was beginning to take root in her gut. That dark, foreboding shadow... So often it amounted to nothing, but Glem was deeply suspicious that this was more a product of her own knack for running away than an actual lack of danger.
A quick glance around the Cantina, and Glem became suddenly aware that several of the patrons were watching her. Suddenly self-conscious, she scowled at them and stood. What was so interesting about a Gungan making travel arrangements? ... okay, probably the Gungan part. At least on Coruscant, there were so many alien species that only the most observant of locals noticed her race's rarity. Here, in the dusty bowl of Tatooine... well, most of them had probably never even heard of Gungans. And with good reason; any one in their right mind never would have come here.
Which just made Glem kick herself harder. Eager to escape the prying eyes, Glem made her way to the Cantina's exit, ignoring the glare of the bartender who hadn't had the... pleasure of her business.
Then, like a spider, a tingle crept up Glem's spine. Her heart began to race, and she curled her fingers tight around her staff, glistening green claws almost digging into the wood. The feeling came as she passed a table not twelve feet from where she'd been sitting. All she registered of the patron was the shield that covered his face, and made it appear as if he was staring everywhere and nowhere at the same time. She had no idea why the patron gave her such chills... but he did.
Now fleeing more than one thing, Glem slipped out the Cantina door, almost glad to have the sun upon her again.
Yeah right.
Greek had followed her, as always, and was looking up at her expectantly. Glem absentmindedly rubbed him behind the ears as she considered where to go next. If she positioned her eyes just right, she could see Kayan a few hundred yards down the dusty street, his form warped by rising waves of heat. He was taking the long way. For the first time that day, Glem smiled.
~
As soon as she was moving again, Glem's spirits began to lift. This wasn't the pointless saunter which had so plagued her first few hours on Tatooine. No, this was moving. Glem saw pathways where others saw awnings, routes where others saw obstacles, open doors where others saw only shadows. Granted, there was only so much ground to be gained on unfamiliar territory, but she was using her muscles again, which was welcome.
Glem was dashing along rooftops when she came to a break in buildings; a 10-foot alley separated her and the next building.
She didn't even pause.
Her run shortened to a crouch for only a moment, before her muscles snapped like the release of a catapult's string, launching her into the air. Designed for swimming, used for jumping. Wouldn't mamma be proud.
For a moment, Glem was flying, and then her feet came in contact as she landed, immediately turning the downward momentum into a side-roll, and coming up running again. Ha! This was living! Where the stakes were low, and the thrill was high. Too bad it wouldn't last. These things never did.
~
It was with a great deal of satisfaction that Glem arrived upon the Hangar's roof, to see Kayan still some minutes in the distance. At least, she thought it was Kayan. The heat still distorted any distant forms... Speaking of heat, Glem quickly came to the conclusion that the roof was a really bad place to be. Slipping into a side entrance she'd noticed before, Glem made her way over to the ship she'd only seen landing in the far distance; though there could be no mistaking it.
However, as soon as Glem slowed down, the shadows crept back toward her. She could outrun them for a while, blow them away... but as ever they came back. She'd known it even as she'd leapt from roof to roof. A fact of life. She lived with it.
But with the shadows, came a creeper of mischief.
~
Glem was lounging on top of the Gambler's Dawn-- What an interesting name for a ship. -- as Kayan came into the Hangar bay. Greek suddenly appeared, pushed through his legs, and hopped like a mad-frog toward the ship. With a single, final leap, he scaled the great height (He was only two feet tall, after all,) and joined Glem. Exhausted, the little creature rolled onto his back, tongue lolling as he panted, Glem reaching over to stroke him on the belly.
Good little Greek.
With the other hand, Glem pelted a bundle of credits at Kayan. "There's your six thousand. Oh, and I hope you aren't allergic to Gizka."
Glem smiled.
Greek cooed.

OOC: Hehehe great, long post as ever Kella. Oh, and Ive found I like your charecter. Nice personality and species choice hehe. Now I must act....
As Derga calmly watched the Gungan, he started to log every move she made, while she spoke, when she moved, how she reacted, and even where she set her hands when sitting at the table. Each bit of movement told him more about his prey, and now he could tell this would be a interesting hunt. She would be a difficult one, though in the end, she would be caught.
Suddenly, he realized she had gotten up and was walking in his direction to the exit.... And she had noticed him. She looked at him for a whole two seconds, anxiety and a trickle of fear radiating off her. Then the moment was gone and she had passed, exiting the cantina and heading for who knows where. The moment she had left his sight, he stood up and walked firmly to the doorway. As he passed the bar, he slipped a ten-credit chip out and tossed it to the bartender, who gave him a firm nod and pocketed it. It was good to have aquaintences in places like this.
As he walked out of the building, the blinding light reflected off his armor plating and most of all his visor, turning the shadow warrior into a blinding nova for a split second before he started moving, eliminating the visual display. He could sense she had headed for the roof. He quickly summoned the Force and sent himself flying into the air, landing on the roof then quickly running across the roof-tops with calm precision, mostly relying on his own physical strength and abilities though occasionally using the Force to do the impossible.
After at least 5 minutes of running, his target disappeared from sight. He slowed down enormously, creeping towards where she had slipped into. He stopped at the edge of a large hole in a building, then glanced in and just as quickly pulled his head away. He had taken it all in the first glimpse, a large freighter, his prey on top of it, and the human smuggler just entering the hanger. He would have to either make his move this minute or wait a little longer. He decided to wait for the golden opportunity.
As he crept along the rim of the hanger, he finally stopped at a large patch of shadow coming from a nearby tower. He settled down there, then slipped a optical cable over the edge and hooked it to his HUD. He aimed it at his target, following her carefully.
Finally he calmed slightly, waiting for the right moment. Within the dark, deep recesses of his mind, a plan was starting to formulate, and he believed it to be the right one for this mission. He quickly pulled out his sniper rifle and all its parts, then started to disassemble it, then reassemble it into a shorter range weapon with projectiles, mainly tranq's. He had to be prepared, as he would only have one chance for this plan to work. And he was determined to make it work.
OOC: So you know, his armor covers him from head to toe, not showing one inch of skin/fur. Its basically military standard armor, though its meant for recon missions, mostly spec ops. Anyways I believe I have a interesting plan in mind...
