ThemeThere were very few sensations more unpleasant than falling, at least as far as Anushka was concerned. It had happened enough as a young child, learning how to use lightsaber, that the bruised little red head stubbornly decided to avoid the action at all costs. The resolution had instilled within her an unmatched grace, and a sure step that had been the envy of many fellow padawans and knights even if the usage of the Force would always stay below average. But confidence in the movement and nuances of one's own body only gets you so far whenever you're knee-high to an Ewok and the rest of the flailing, clumsy world is dead-set on toppling your tiny a*ss over. Like this bunch of desert scum for instance. She had killed more than three already but they would just keep coming! Ana decided to run, though this place was less than familiar and Tusken Raiders easily cornered the human on a cliff, leading to the wasteland of burning sand. They closed in one her – the yellowish saber flickered to life but they were too many of them. The indecipherable babble of the alien language reached Anushka's ears. It begged a question why they hadn't killed her yet. Where they looking for slaves? Food?! ”F*ck...”She cursed loudly and tapped in the Force, hurling few of the attackers away but the others were still coming. She caught few blaster's shots, though one managed to sear her shoulder, burning it painfully. The grey jedi screamed, jumping away and ungracefully losing balance. Standing at the edge, she stumbled and inevitably fell down, bracing for the crash .. that never came. Tensed up like a tiny cat, with doe-eyes clenched tightly shut and heart hammering like a scared rabbit in a cage, Ana wondered why she currently found herself not in a broken pile of bones on the ground, but rather held suspended and safe. Had she at some point learned to levitate with the aid of her Force? Or did gravity decide to take a five minute break? Slowly, the girl opened her hazel eyes and looked up with hesitation. An alarmed yelp left her lips when Ana discovered she was hanging at a dry vine that spiked from the cliff. There were still twenty feet or so left to fall if the flimsy support broke. She was too tired to use the Force, beside levitation was never something that came easily to her. Ana's grasp of the Force aside from Telepathy was less than pathetic and now there would be a price to pay for this clumsiness. Not really sure what to do, Anushka began to flail helplessly, praying the desert monkeys wouldn't find her too quickly.

It had been a month or so after the duel with the Sith on Ambria. Tov had lost the confidence in his ability to fight. Though he had won the fight by hurling the Devoronian into the abyss. If it wasn't for his Padawan Gharassk, Tova'nas wouldn't be alive. He was grateful for his Padawan Learner. The Twi'lek Master was spending time in the Outer Rim trying to gain perspective on the situation.
Speeding along on the speeder bike he borrowed from a gentleman in Mos Espa. Glancing down at his gloved left hand, thinking of the moment he lost it. The now cybernetic one that occupied the spot was still new to him. The Jedi had to learn how to grip a saber and the difference it had made. His cloak and lukku trailed behind him from the wind the was created from the speeder bike.
It had been four years since he had been on the desert planet. The last time he was here was to settle a dispute. In a round about way he was there to settle another one, a personal one with himself. He was on his way to see the girl that had given him the necklace that was tied to his belt.
Tov glanced up and noticed a figure topple from the top of a masa. Speeding up, hurrying to see if he could be of any help. Even though he was dealing with issues, he was still a Jedi and had to protect and help those in need. As he got closer he noticed it was a woman. The Force radiated from the female like the heat from the Tatooine surface. The Jedi Master arrived and stopped the bike, powering it down he got off and walked up to the cliff.
The woman was stuck in vines that protruded from the side of the rock face. Shading his yellow eyes from the sun he pondered for a second. Reaching out trying to sense if the red hairs woman was one with the Dark Side of the Force. It was hard to tell, there was great conflict in her but it was certain she wasn't a Dark Jedi or Sith.
"Are you ok!?"
Master Tova'nas shouted at the woman wonder if she needed assistance. It was unknown to Tov that there were Sand People and others traveling around the cliff at that moment.

That sound...A speeder! Anushka at first reacted with more fear but then something washed over her. A tremble in the Force. Sickening light, almost radiant coming from the noisy machine. A Jedi...or something close to it. Her stomach began to swirl. Ana disliked Jedi almost as much as the darksiders. Fanatics, all of them.
That just couldn't get any worse... At least the being wasn't with the Raiders. She inhaled deeply, calming her hammering heart and looked down. Purple..Looked like Twi'lek. Male. Anxiety and irritation mixed into one as a pair of hazel eyes darted up and saw few masked figures above. Anushka looked down at rolled her eyes. ”Do I look ok to you?” She snapped and grabbed the vine to climb on it. It took some effort but after looking down and deciding it was possible to acrobatically make it through without using the Force the woman jumped. From stone to stone Ana made her way down to gracefully land in front of the purple male.
He was much taller than her, threateningly so but Anushka was hard to intimidate. She looked up defiantly, meeting the sunflared gaze of the Twi'lek. The young human could feel the Force dancing around the alien. A master at the very least. His robes and smell of light aura gave him off right away. A Jedi for sure. ”Now I am but the Sand People aren't far.” The sun was unbearable and Ana had an urge to complain aloud. Her discipline would always be poor, got worse after she had left the Order.
Anushka adjusted her grassy green clothes, dusting them off slightly as if to regain some pride after recent humiliation. ”I guess they don't like someone sniffing around their things.” Ana said, crossing arms on her chest in a haughty manner as she let her gaze to appraise the male's features. He was handsome like most of his race with striking yellow eyes but not ones that a dark sider would have, a natural color. Something about him reminded Ana of her old master, something in demeanor and the way he wore his sabers. The woman's honey streaked eyes narrowed briefly. Was he here to hunt her? A rogue Jedi that went thief? Casually, Ana let her hand to slide near the lightsaber. Better to be safe than sorry though nothing in the male's intentions readable in the Force spoke of any ill will.

Tov watched as the young woman jumped and flipped down the side of the cliff. She finally landing in front of the Twi'lek. As the woman brushed off herself, he noticed that she was nearly a foot shorter then he. Reading much conflict coming from her, he didn't waver a bit. He was more concerned about the people he sensed coming from the masa. Looking in the direction that they were coming from he felt her demeanor change. She was ready for something.
"There's no need for that. I am just here by chance to make sure you are ok. I was traveling to Anchorhead go see a friend."
Tov said, he wasn't asked why he was here or where he was going. But he felt with her uneasy posture he would explain himself. Then he saw the Sand People that were after the human. Grabbing the womans hand pulling her over to the speeder bike. Getting and starting it.
"Get on, there's too many for both of us"
Which was probably not true, but ever since the duel on Ambria he didn't have confidence in his skill with a lightsaber. Sitting on the bike waiting for the young human woman to make her decision to get on or not. The Sand People got into blaster range. As they started shooting Tov drew his saber blocking blaster bolts his his left hand.
"I can't hold them off for ever"

”That was hell of a chance.” Ana's eyebrow raised in an expression of skeptical disbelief but she couldn't sense any lie. Then again as a master, the Twi'lek could easily shield his thoughts and intentions. Though it wouldn't be something a lightsiders were fond of. The thief on the other hand had no such inhibitions, the amount of money she had won when cheating in cards.
A ripple in the Force drew her attention and the girl looked at the incoming Raiders...Apparently they made their way off the cliff as well. She cursed again and yelped when the Jedi pulled her toward the bike. He was strong, stronger then her if only by sheer mass of muscles. Ana was ready to slap him when the first blaster's shots passed dangerously close to her head. Red strands fell to the back, when heat from the blast ruined the tightly gathered bun. Anushka hated when that happened.
Quickly she jumped on a speeder, tightly grabbing the Twi'lek by his waist. She noticed a flicker of a lightsaber and tensed. An almost unconscious reaction by now. ”What the hell are you waiting for?! Go!” Ana snapped, urging the male to move. There were too many Raiders around. The grey jedi reached for the pocket and closed her fingers on the small pack of precious stone she had just stolen from the Raiders. It was kind of...unfair on her part to drag someone else into this mess but the Jedi had offered his help willingly. He had only himself to blame...

With the Sand People running toward them and now the woman on the back of bike and holding on to him. He deactivated the saber and clipped it to his belt. He hit the accelerator and speed off as their pursuers reached the spot they were.
The pair sped through the desert, the sand flying underneath them. It felt good to help someone since the fight on Ambria. It was a long way to Anchorhead and they needed to rest. They were coming up on a abandoned building. Tov pointed at it and started heading toward it. It took about five minutes to reach it from where they spotted it. Reaching it Tov shut it down and waited for the woman to get off. After she had he got off himself and fixed his cloak. Then he took off his glove on his left hand. Dumping he sand out that hand accumulated in it from the ride.
"We should be safe here for now. The Sand People don't travel fast but they will be back in greater numbers. The name is Tov."
Anas said as he flexed his mechanical hand. He thought back again to the fight on Ambria. This fight would be with him for a while. He still had dreams about it. The Devoronian slicing through his hand. Snapping out of it he turned to the read head noticing the blaster burn on her shoulder.
"Lets get inside and get that taken care of."
Tov said putting his glove back on and grabbing a medical kit from the bike and motioned for the woman to head in first. Tova'nas was her protector and he wanted her to take cover first.

Even on a bike, the heat was terrible. The grains of sand flew around, hitting her face, embedding in the fiery red hair. The grey Jedi felt burning in the shoulder getting worse and gritted her teeth. Wave after wave the searing air marked by twin suns sapped all the strength from her muscles. The Raiders faded far away in the horizon but it were their lands. Their turf. She counted breaths and heartbeats as the long buried memories made their way to the surface. Ana had a good reason to stay away from Jedi, very treacherous reason that drunk himself to death.
The time dragged itself painfully slowly, cut into unbearable intervals by dead, sandy wastelands and lone hills. Anushka stayed stubbornly silent, feeling very awkward and rather silly clinging to a Jedi master like a young Padawan she had been so long ago. Idiotic Order with even more idiotic rules...Finally a lone farm appeared in the distance. Even from there Ana could see it was abandoned. Holes in the roof, this aura of hermit, wild house in a middle of nowhere. Whoever lived there, had left this place long time ago.
”Well, aren't we lucky.” She turned to look at the Jedi. His hand flexed in somewhat unnatural way. Cybernetic for sure. So that was the price he had paid till now. For a moment the Twi'lek seemed to be lost in thoughts. Not a chatty fellow but most of them weren't. ”Anushka.” The woman said curtly, wondering if Tov was old enough to know her old master. To know her and the shame she had left the order in. The woman noticed the medical kit and frowned. Silly Jedi, how come he knows to trust her? Why would he help someone a fugitive from the Order? ”I am fine, don't worry yourself little, handsome head over me, Jedi.” Ana said dismissively , holding back hisses of pain and discomfort. She had no idea why the sudden need to play a hero but seemed somehow...appropriate.
Slowly, she stepped into the sand, feeling feverish from both – heat and wound. The fiery haired woman dragged herself toward the structure, wondering if anything close to water could be found there. Damn Sand People. The human cursed few times under her breath and peered through the half broken doors. The Force was quiet, no living soul prowled this place. It was dead in the Force as it had been to the naked eye. Without hesitation Anushka headed into the main room. Almost no furniture was left, let alone anything of value – electronics, decoration. But there was a tap, muddy water...Ana watched filthy stream coming from the rusty pipes. The burning in her shoulder increased, making the young woman slightly dizzy. Anushka leaned on a dusty counter, looking for support or she would fall.

Anushka The Twi'lek thought for a moment, it didn't ring any bells. She was clearly not part of the Order but it was lucky that she wasn't on the other side of the force. Ever since the fight with the Devaronian he hadn't been very confident and his abilities. He didn't understand why with his skill with a saber he could let himself loose his hand.
Walking into the building he noticed it was sparsely furnished and there was layer of dust on everything. He saw the water come out muddy and full of rust. Walking back out to the speeder grabbing a canteen of water. Just as he reentered the house he noticed the woman get dizzy and hold onto the sink. Walking over to her holding onto her good shoulder.
"Anushka, please sit. You looked dehydrated and we need to take care of that wound. So tell me something, what brings you here to this dust ball they call a planet?"
Tova'nas says as he guides the young woman over to a chair. Taking part of his cloak and brushing it off he has her sit and hands her the canteen. Looks around finding a table walking over and dusting it off as well. The Twi'lek sets the med kit on the table and opens it. Taking some antiseptic out and cleaning the wound but the shirt was in the way.

Instincts were a powerful thing and now it told her to shirk away from the touch. Ana was an orphan, never as a child she experience parental touch or even simple, innocent pleasure that came from comfort of other's closeness. For her it often carried only one meaning and now Anushka didn't like the interpretation. For a moment the woman fought with dizziness, unable to get free. Without a protest the human sat down on the rickety chair. It squeaked haphazardly against being used after so many years.
Ana inhaled sharply and took a swig from the canteen with disappointment noticing it was only water. Shame, she could use a drink right about now. Though even those few sips helped her to gather enough wits to stop the Jedi from helping any further. This kindness wasn't warranted nor needed. At least Anushka thought so. ”I can do it myself.” The woman replied and pulled herself up to take off the simple, cotton shirt, exposing sport's underwear and fair few scars gathered all over the years. One of them left a nasty line across ribs, lightsaber burn and one of the reasons Ana stayed away from dark siders.
Slowly, the grey jedi walked toward the medkit and took few things, ignoring the fact she was missing her shirt. Her eyes flickered up, pondering the question and ghost of a smile danced on her lips. Indeed, what was she doing there? ”Nothing a Jedi master would approve of.” Ana answered, looking at the Twi'lek with defiance that so often angered her old mentor. There was always something unnerving in the way some Jedi were good and altruistic. Such a lie, there was nothing beneath it. They couldn't attach it was forbidden and yet behaved as if really cared. Hypocrites, every single one of them.
Wincing from time to time, Ana began to clean her wound thought it went slowly as she had been weakened by heat and pain. Finally giving up, she offered the purple male the antiseptic. ”Fine, you win. I need your help on this.” Anushka said with a defeated sigh, her amber orbs looking away bashfully. She disliked asking for help like a mewling, helpless cat. ”What are you doing here, it's a Hutt space, Jedi are not welcomed here.”

Standing there he was getting ready to clean the wound but Anushka come over and took her shirt off. It took the Twi'lek Master off guard a little. He had never seen a female in that stage of clothing and it made him feel a tad bit uncomfortable. Then he spotted the numerous scars all over her well toned body. One stood out, it was somewhat deep and ran across the ribs. It reminded him of the one on his own chest. Snapping out if the trance by the young woman guff answer to his question.
"I am not here to judge young one. I am merely helping someone that is need of assistance."
Tov responded as he watched Ana try to treat her own wound. It was somewhat comical her trying to reach the wound and apply the antiseptic. After a couple more minutes the human female gave up and annoyingly admitted that she needed assistance from the purple Twi'lek.
Before the Twi'lek Master began to treat the wound he was getting slightly warm. Taking off his cloak and his tunic, revealing his rippling muscles also the beginning on the scar that was on his chest under his sleeveless undershirt. Picking up the medicine, dabbing it on the blaster burn with a cotton swab. The the question came up, should he tell her the real reason he was here. Should he tell her that he was running away from his duties for awhile. How would she judge the Twi'lek.
"Trying to escape the reaches of the Republic for awhile. About a month ago, my Padawan and I engaged a Sith. We defeated him but I lost my left hand in the process. I let my Padawan down, I let him get hurt. Im his Master I shouldn't have let him engage the Sith."
Tov had stopped in the middle of fixing the blaster burn as he told the real reason he was on Tatooine. He was ashamed to called a Jedi Master at that moment he showed weakness, negativity and slight anger of the matter.

His gaze didn't escape Ana and for a moment the woman couldn't decide if comment on this awkward situation or leave it be. Tov looked uncomfortable to say the least, almost as if he had never seen a female in her underwear. A faint smile ghosted across her lips. So there is a man in him... She didn't cover herself when the Twi'lek's gaze moved over her frame, despite his previous shyness. Ana wasn't squeamish, the curious stares never bothered her though again the odd reminiscence from past caught the red headed girl off guard. Her old Master would behave like that, awkward and uncomfortable yet curious. As if he was doing something ”Did you find anything interesting?” Anushka asked, echo of mischief ringing in the playful tone.
When Tov stepped closer, Ana didn't put on her shirt, it was his job after all to resist those primeval drives not hers. This said, the grey jedi had no calms shamelessly locking her gaze on well toned muscles and pleasantly purple skin. There were scars as well, almost mirror to her own. ”Young one? You are no older than a decade.” She snorted at the thought. ”I have been judged long time ago by your Order, why would I be afraid of it?” The woman asked, rising reddish brow daintily. It was her time to get uncomfortable all suddenly. This selfless, altruistic act on Tov's part made Ana feel in debt and undeserving. Would he agree to help if knew she was a thief? A con artist using the Force to steal and lie?
The way he immediately trusted her and told the truth about his motives for being there. For a moment Ana stayed silent, lost in a company of someone honest for a change. It had been six years since she had left Jedi, dived into a world of vice – in which trust was hard to come by. ”You didn't abandon him. More than mine did for me years ago.” Anushka said, more bitterly than initially intended. Her hand went to the scar at the ribs. Its rough surface would always remind her about the failure. ”You just showed him what in years to come he would have to face alone. I wish I had such lesson.” The woman said, her gaze growing unfocused. This was exactly why she had avoided Jedi, too many memories. Too many burning, festering wounds in her soul.
”I was hired to steal something expensive for a certain collector. The trail led me here, to Sand People, but the only thing I was able to get where gem stones I can use to pay for another trip to hunt the damn thing.” Anushka sighed and shook her head. ”As you can imagine, they weren't too happy about it.” She finished, wincing slightly when the antiseptic cleaned the burn.

Tov let out a chuckle at the comment Anushka made about her only being roughly a decade his junior. Calling people 'young one' that were more than ten years younger then him was just something he had done for years. He just says it without realizing it sometimes.
The Twi'lek Master noticed her eye his scar. Only about a fourth of it was visible because of his shirt. It was a good half a meter long and ran diagonal from right to left. Reaching up and touching the end of it. He had been in many duels and have only been hurt twice.
"I was just noticing your scars. I can tell you've spotted mine. I recieved it when I was a Padawan from a Zabrak Dark Jedi. During my Trial of Courage and Skill."
He then heard her next part about him not abandoning Gharassk. He wasn't but it had felt that he had failed as a Master. His first Padawan had lost her hand during a duel and now Gharassk had serious injuries. It only meant that Tova'nas was not fit to be a Master. But then again he knew that the Council wouldn't allow him to take on another if they didn't feel he was capable.
Tov said as he went back to treating to wound. He would be trying to use the Force to heal the wound but he had never been able to get that aspect of the Force. He was nearly finished when Ana told him way she had come to the desert planet. He knew many people did all kinds of jobs all over the Galaxy to make money. Has long as she didn't kill innocent people or hunt Jedi he didn't care what she did.
Tov had finished treating the wound and covered it with a bandage. Taking the canteen from Anushka he took a sip and handed it back to her. By this time the heat had become too much for him and he made a bold choice of taking his undershirt completely off. As he did his muscles flexed and his scar was fully visible now.
"Anushka, what you do for money if none of my business. It only would he if you hunt Jedi or harm innocent people. And no it didnt sound like they were happy with you."

At a strike of pain from the wound, Anushka felt an angry, biting retort about clumsy fingers ready to roll from her lips. Again the human woman felt a flush of shame. The Jedi Master seemed only to have the girl’s best interest in mind, Ana saw as much when she snuck a quick glance into the male's kind, patient eyes. With silent acquiescence, she relaxed her defensive posture and allowed Tov to finish the bandaging. The feeling of discomfort increased when the Twi'lek commented on his scar.
The young woman froze, fixing her gaze sharply at the purple alien. It wasn't something she could hide in the force as the same terror and dread that had befallen on her back in that warehouse. The darkness had almost swallowed Ana that day and she never liked going to this moment in the memory lane. Against her will, something wet gathered in her hazel eyes and the grey Jedi blinked, trapping the tears away. ”When was it?” She asked, trying to sound indifferently. Absentmindedly, A nushka took back the canteen, not even noticing it was gone.
Slowly, the woman took a sip, trying to disperse the grim, foggy memories when the Jedi did something to help her immediately succeed in the attempt. Ana coughed, catching few droplets of water into her airways though her stare stuck on naked chest before her. ”Getting hot,are we? Maybe I should put my shirt on to let you cool off?” She asked, half amused, half shocked. No way in Force Ana would look away from a nice shaped torso, even if it made for awkward. Anushka never cared for awkward actually, though now it came dangerously close to home. Last time it hadn't ended well for anyone, certainly not her
Stupid drunk... Heeding warning in her mind, Ana moved away, though it was hard not to look at him. She felt bad for him and felt flickering echo of attachment, something that always made her run away very, very far. Ties were dangerous, liking people was dangerous and unnecessary. Anushka had business partners, sometimes allies but never friends, lovers, family. This unconscious, self-destructive drive the grey jedi possessed put everyone in harm's way. She was a misfit, even among Jedi misfits that was bound to die before thirty. No need to drag anyone else into that!
”You don't have to get dressed on my behalf, I assure you.” The woman lied, smiling fiendishly and walked over to scurry through shelves, pushing herself to find something else to hang her focus on . Tov certainly had experience or talent in tending to wounds, the burn wasn't half as painful as it used to.

Tov watched her eyeing him with his tunic off. He wasn't too knowledgeable in the area of romance, in all honesty he wasn't knowledgeable at all. He knew nothing about woman and stuff of that nature. Then he caught her question about how long ago he faced the Dark Jedi.
"That was about 20 years ago. He also perished in the battle by my hand."
Tov bowed his head in kind of a solemn mood. He wasn't happy that he took a life but it was either his or the Dark Jedi. The only why he could get over it for the longest time what to tell himself that it was self defence.
As Tov took his shirt off he noticed that Anushka spit the water out of her mouth. This confused the Twi'lek, did some of the water go down her windpipe or did she just drink too much at once.
"Im not used to this heat. Coruscant is so much cooler than this. Plus I am usually in the Temple teaching my Padawan or meditating."
Tova'nas replied to the comment. He didn't know what she meant by it but for some reason he was enjoying the shape of the woman. Though he had swore an oath to the Order. They weren't allowed to be tempted, he was disciplined to resist the urge. Turning and looking outside he didn't sense anything but Anushka. She was now in the other room looking at the shelves. He knew that they weren't going anywhere for awhile. Possibly not until night fall, which wasn't too far off. Still it would be hot but more bearable then it was now.
"Better get comfortable. We're going to be here till night fall. That's only a couple hours away.
With that said Tova'nas stepped out and grabbed the pack that was strapped to the speeder bike. Stepping back through the doorway his sabers swaying as he walked. Setting the bag on the rickety table opening it. Taking out some fruit and dried meat offering Anushka some.
"Anushka, eat keep your strength up."

Twenty years... So it couldn't have been this one. ”Good riddance then.” Ana commented, wishing she had enough strength to finish the dark jedi from few years back. Death was not something that disturbed her nor frightened. The woman had taken life before, in self-defense but still never felt overly bad. Law of nature – kill or be killed. That was also something that tore her from the Order. This disregard for life and light. The woman often wondered if it made her evil or damaged, never couldn't really decide about it.
”Isn't your species from Ryloth? Desert all around?” She asked with a shrug absolutely not buying the act. Just by accident the Tov felt warmer in that particular moment. That was called repression of drive...It didn't really matter, Ana wasn't going to walk a second time to the same, treacherous river. The red headed girl let her mind to drift away from troubling thoughts and Ana discovered she was annoyed with the Twi'lek and his need to help. To take care of her. Angrily, the woman slammed the doors of a cupboard and rooted into a small cabinet, fetching something. It was a datapad with pictures of family that possibly used to live here. Ana only few years ago had learned the disturbing truth about her own parents, they had been happy once. Maybe if it had stayed this way she wouldn't have ended in the Order and just become a typical city girl from rich home.
Her fingers clenched around the little device, the knuckled turning ghostly white. Life id never fair. She let go of the pictures that fell down to the floor. Crystal, electronic surface broke. Deftly, Anushka watched the pieces of ruined datapad when Tov showed up. Still shirtless. She bit down on her lower lip, fairly sure he was doing that on purpose somehow. ”Yeah? And who said I am staying?” The woman asked bitingly. ”I am not your little Padawan to order around.” She said defiantly, crossing arms on her chest in a haughty manner .
The woman walked into the main room and saw food on the table. Her brows furrowed. ”I am not hungry!” She snapped with growing irritation. ”Why!? “ Ana asked suddenly, her voice rising a tone up. Dangerously close to a shout. ”Why do you keep pretending to care?” The human turned to face a broken window. Dusk was coming, silkily spilling into the room with violet and purple strings of light. ”You are Jedi, you never care , you are forbidden to.” She could feel this old anger tearing her apart. Mostly at her Master but also the entire Order of cold, detached people who watched their every step to avoid any form of closeness.

Tov thought for a moment, he had never been to the home world of his species. He had been at the temple as long as he can remember. Being is the Order he was not told about his parents. He really saw no need to know, he enjoyed the life he lead and didn't wish to know any other.
"I have never been to Ryloth. I've been at the Temple all my life. This is has been my third trip here to this planet."
The Twi'lek said watching her move into the kitchen area. He thought back to the second time he had come to Tatooine. He was settling a dispute with a Hutt. That's when he met Alana and revived the bantha hair and teeth necklace. He kept that on his belt and the crystal from his Masters saber around his neck. Reaching up and touching the crystal that hung from his neck.
Looking up as Anushka started in on him. He wasn't forcing her to stay there with him. Tova'nas was just making sure she was safe. It had cooled off somewhat with the twin suns setting. He grabbed his undershot slipping it on and standing aside.
"Im not going to stop you if you with to leave. But its a long walk to Anchorhead and the Sand People would likely catch you before you get there."
Master Tov replied in a calm cool voice taking a bite of the fruit. Finding a spot on the ground leaning against the wall with his legs crossed. Keeping calm he swallows and then responds.
"We are not forbidden to care. We are forbidden to form attachments. We are somewhat encouraged to care and love others."
Tov could sense something else was bothering her but he couldn't figure out what it was. It had seem over the years Anushka had learned how to block out people from reading her moods completely.

Movement caught her attention and the woman's hazel gaze fixed on the saber crystal the Twi'lek had hung on his neck. ”You can be attached to objects but not people. Sad.” She commented though no true emotion rang in her voice. It was flat and colorless, dry, cynical. Something died in the girl the day her Master , first and last love, had left without a word. Burning wound wouldn't heal and the Twi'lek's presence only made it all come back. Ana wanted to run, run far away and never see another Jedi again.
The shreds of self-preservation instincts kept the young human in place. Tov was right, Sand People would get her in a matter of hours. Frustrated she kicked the battered wall, leaving a solid, dark mark on it. Anushka's angry gaze locked on the Twi'lek. How dared he? What a mindless, Jedi drone knew about feelings? ”You have no idea what love is!” The woman snapped. ”Care without attachment is empty. Meaningless! “ It was infuriating, this calm of his. The way Tov just sat there, sipping water after ruining those little leftovers of piece she had carefully built.
” At least Sith feel something. What often makes them win.” Ana added, feeling her cheeks burning from anger. The girl knew it could hurt the Twi'lek but wanted to get him angry, to feel the same helplessness and fury she harbored though in the back of her mind a disturbing thought floated.
You are punishing the wrong man.
The realization hit her like a jackhammer. It was all about her Master and nothing else. The Twi'lek wasn't him, he was just some Jedi with misguided sense of justice. Abusing Tov wouldn't bring Ocraadi back, wouldn't make him lover her. Anushka inhaled deeply which turned into a silent sob, feeling tears rolling down her cheeks in an unstoppable stream. Ashamed, feeling old wounds opening again, the grey Jedi readied herself to storm into the Tattooine night.

"This was the crystal in my Masters lightsaber."
The Twi'lek said standing up walking closer to Anushka. It wasn't in a threating manner, he just wanted to not shout. Tov was curious to why she was so upset with him. All he wanted to do was to protect her like the Jedi should. He may not have confidence in his fighting abilities or his ability to teach. But he was still a Jedi and was going to uphold to protect people in need.
"I was attached to someone once, my Master, Master Jetter. He was like a father to me. He was the one that took me to the Temple when I was a baby. He watched over me all my life. I loved him like a father, I still do. I wish he was here to help me."
The purple Twi'lek said as he started to think of what Jetter would tell him. That he was being foolish and that he was the best Padawan he had ever seen. That he was confident that he did everything right in the way he handled the situation with the Sith.
"Sith only feel greed. They are only attached to themselves and their lust for power. They have no concept of the meaning of love."
Tova'nas retorted as he moved closer to the human. He noticed the black mark on the wall from the kick that had phased the Jedi. He knew the woman was frustrated about something. Then he notices the sudden change in the mood of Anushka. The Grey Jedi had started to cry, the Jedi rushed to her. He unconsciously wrapped his arms around her and held her.
"It's ok, you were frustrated you did nothing wrong."
Master Tova'nas said in a calm and soft voice.

She didn't want to hear the story. So familiar. What happened to her master's saber? Yes...Like her, he had to give it back into the Order upon leaving. Ana wouldn't like its crystal anyway. Blue, royal blue didn't fit this fiery woman. ”I loved mine in a way I shouldn't, with feeling your order frowns upon. Don't tell me you know what is like.” Anushka snapped suddenly, admitting something she had avoided in years. It felt like a bad dream, like a deja vu. Like a day the red haired girl had to explain before the Council from this tainted, indecent feeling.
Ana wanted to run when the Twi'lek came closer, her eyes grew wide and scared like those of a caged animal. ”You don't know that, you always killed them.” She retorted, feeling anxious and uneasy. That wasn't right, he was a Jedi and looking at him as if he was her old master would only hurt her. And then the purple male caught her in a tight embrace. Ana stiffened immediately, muscles coiled preparing to fight or flee. The emotions rippled through her – unwanted and unwarranted. Anushka knew only couple of ways to react for such sudden, intimate approach. One was to kick the offender right between legs and the other...The other....
She put her hands on Tov's chest but couldn't push him away. Memories swept through the helpless girl, her mind wondered how her life would look like if Ocraadi chose differently. Would his embrace feel like this? Anushka inhaled sharply, breathing in scent of sun streaked skin and without a doubt strong, masculine smell. Scared of her own, almost primal reaction to what seemed like a clueless gesture of protective affection. Nothing more. Tears were still streaming down her pale cheeks as she fought with herself.
”Nothing wrong?” The woman whispered through sobs. ”My master felt differently and he chose some slum born wh*re to leave the Order for.” She wanted to push the Jedi away, he was not Ocraadi, would never be but at the same time Ana craved even this small echo of the past.

The Twi'lek stood there with the red hair woman in his arms. It made him feel like he was back with his first Padawan when she would get hurt or when she had lost her hand. That was a big turning point in Tov mood also, he felt the same then he did now. He was here comforting a stranger before comforting his own Padawan. Though Gharassk was fine but if made Tov realize what he was doing.
"You can't blame yourself for other peoples actions. He chose to leave the Order and go pursue a romantic relationship with someone. You shouldn't be too hard on yourself."
Tova'nas said as he released her from the embrace halfway through talking. Placing his hands on her shoulders and looking down at her. As smile formed int the corner of his mouth. The Jedi had to admit she was a beautiful you woman. But he was loyal to the Order and wouldn't go against his discipline. Clearing his throat, he turned around and put his black overshirt on along with his leather tunic. Placing his crystal necklace outside of the clothes he turned back.
"That's better isn't it? So Anushka, where do you plan to go once we reach Anchorhead?"
