----One week later---
Erfies sat with his legs neatly folded, his eyes concentrated on the floating objects before him. A small green crystal hovered before him, casting a glow from the light given off by his work light. The crystal had been tough to track once Erfies had located it, it had been no where near where he had sat himself at the beginning. It felt as if it took days, the possibility of that being apparent when he located it nestled surrounded by yellow crystals. The Force had once again taken him to where he needed to be and now he sat, his mind clear of negatives and his crystal and parts hovering in the space before him.
No finger usage was allowed, the Jedi had to create the saber from using only the Force and Erfies did that now as the crystal mount fit with the crystal. Slowly pieces flew in to fill gaps, conductors went to their proper places and circuits joined in as well. Erfies had studied the construction till it was engraved within his mind and his hard work was starting to pay off. In all honesty he had attempted this before with failed attempts, either his concentration broken or his parts were in the wrong places.
But not this time. This time would be the final.
He had given himself to the Force and before him the soon to be lightsaber was half way done, the Force guiding the pieces through him. No normal being could accomplish this without a holobook on making them and those were stored away in the Temple. This could only be done by a Jedi.
Which was what Erfies was now. He was no longer some drunken old man sitting in a dark corner of a slime infested cantina on a desert planet, so drowned in drink and bad memories he barely registered anything.
He was Erfies Ianie, the Jedi Guardian once again.
The final piece of the lightsaber fell into place and slowly floated into his lap. His eyes unfocusing from the place they had been staring in concentration previous, he looked down and picked up the saber. His old saber had been curved as this one, his preference for a handle. The curve had taken place as he constructed and with the proper parts which he had received upon request at the temple.
Now was the last test.
Erfies stood up, his robes uncrinkling as they had been on the hard stone floor. His blue eyes looked intently on the shaft as he extended it away from himself at full length. If he was to activate the blade and the bloody thing exploded it was in his best interest to keep the damage to a minimal. But he hoped above all else he wouldn't have to worry about that.
There was no button to activate the blade because it was built inside the weapon itself so the user had to turn it on using the Force. This was to safeguard against if the saber was lost some curious being wouldn't turn it on on themselves. Taking a deep breath, Erfies used the Force and pressed the switch within.
With a snap hiss, the brilliant green blade came to life and brightened up the cavern. Erfies looked with a smile upon the blade and moved it about, satisfied at the noise it generated as it moved. He left the blade on for a few minutes, making sure that nothing was wrong and deactivated it. Turning back to the spot he had sat for so long, he used the Force and gathered his discarded food stuffs and tools, placing them in his pouch.
Drawing the hood of his cloak he started to make his way out of the cavern, a void in himself filled at long last.
