Two bright green eyes would be visible from tiny holes in the back of Mon'uuem's hood as Ki'ang spoke, blinking at him. Asani had never met the man, and for a brief second it took her mind off the battle, though her fur remained from just how nervous she was. She continued to watch him from the back of her master's hood until he disappeared from behind her. She then turned back around and nestled against the Kaminoan's long neck as she tried to calm herself.
So many noises. The sounds of gunfire, people screaming in pain, bodies falling. She visibly shook against her master while they continued on. Soon it darkened around them and her fur slowly began to change to yellow as her nerves turned to fright. Quietly, she began to chant the Jedi code in an attempt to calm herself. After a while, her fur slowly turned from yellow back to white, and her hand gripped around her tiny training saber. Whether she would actually use it or not, she did not know.

Jace's pace had slowed down considerably since separating from the group. The caverns could be quite deceiving if one was not mindful of the surroundings. Many times he felt as if he had been in the same place he was only minutes before. He wasn't worried about getting lost, but rather keeping track of his surroundings. Jace was essentially alone at this point. There was no back up as there had been earlier, caution was vital now. Though it wasn't as if this was the first time Jace was alone and surrounded by possible danger. No, he had been in these types of situations for a good part of his life. Thus he slowly began to sink into the Shadow he used to be.
The slight anxiety he initially experience had now transformed to comfort. Jace Beleren was in his element. Though these caves were still not an ideal location for sensing the presence of others, especially those shrouded by the darkside. The Jedi’s mind was focused but slowly wandered through time and memories. Jace was touched by a pang of nostalgia; even he could not deny that he missed his days as a Shadow. In his early years, Jace believed that it was necessary to be proactive when combating the darkside. When he had been ‘relegated’ to the Temple by the Council’s orders, he was exposed to another side of the Jedi. Now as the Grandmaster, he was for the most part, responsible for the direction the Order would take. He couldn’t go undercover for months on end, or even leave the Temple for extended periods of time. Jace understood and accepted the responsibility of his position, that didn’t necessarily mean that he completely assimilated yet.
“Well met, Jedi” came a voice from the shadows
He had sensed a presence minutes before, but it had been vague. Jace had been on his guard ever since then, and it seemed for good reason. Though he had counted himself lucky that this person had decided to announce their presence first. Many would attack without warning, so that made this person either confident or just honorable. Three forms seemed to melt out of the shadows, composing themselves into the figures of men. Jace noted etiquette and bowed his head in a gesture of acknowledgment.
"Allow me to introduce myself, I am Baron Svizgar. I-" Before he could finish one of the others interrupted "This is foolish" He charged forward with the 3rd person who Jace recognized as a Weequay. The baron didn't seem to make a motion to stop them, obviously he wasn't all that interested in an extended conversation with Jace. The Jedi merely sighed, he was hoping that maybe that his foes would be at least somewhat reasonable.
Sidestepping, Jace nimbly dodged the first strike. Shifting his weight to his left foot, he pivoted dodging the next attack. He didn't relish the idea of extended combat, but he wanted to get a measure of his opponents first. Igniting his lightsaber and killing both of them would have been the quickest end to the battle, but that didn't make it better. He continued to dodge left and right, using minimal effort as compared to his opponents who began to tire. Jace decided to make use of one of their openings and sent his knee crashing into the Weequay's side. He ducked under the other's swipe and punched him straight in the gut. They both staggered back, rather surprised at what had just occurred.
"Forgive my rudeness, I did not get a chance to introduce myself. I am Jace Beleren"
All three of his opponents eyes widened at this but Svizgar quickly recovered his composure.
"Who would have thought that I would meet the Grandmaster himself in these putrid caves" He said with an almost condescending grin. A nod at his companions and they attacked once more. This time, Jace decided to take the offensive. He shot forward with a burst of speed, sending multiple strikes at his opponents. They initially did well in dodging the strikes but even they should be able to notice that his speed would eventually get the better of them. Still they continued to fight, and so Jace went back to the defensive with a series of parries and dodges.
Once again, his opponents began to tire, but while Jace was maintaining his current state with ease, even he could not continue this way indefinitely. There was also another opponent to face, who was no doubt stronger than the two he was currently facing. He ducked under the next strike and sent his open palm into the man's chest causing him to stagger backwards. He then dodged a jab from the Weequay. Placing his left hand on the man's shoulder, and grabbing his opponents wrist with his right, the tensing of Jace's muscles was followed by the loud snap of the Weequay's arm. He cried out in agony as he dropped his lightsaber, unable to hold it anymore. Finally, the Jedi sent his knee crashing into the man's face, knocking him out cold.
The other rushed blindly forward, frustration and anger clear in his movements. Jace could never understand how anger was supposed to make people stronger, it made them foolish. Jace sprang forward and launched himself into the air. His right knee extended, he crashed into the wide eyed man with tremendous force. There was no doubt that he had cracked atleast a few of the man's ribs. Jace finished him off with a series of punches and stood to face his third opponent.
"I am glad to see that the leader of the Jedi is not a weakling. This should be an interesting battle, indeed" commented Svizgar as he stepped forward.
Now the true battle would begin...

Her acknowledgement of where she was to be was silently agreed upon as Jace gave out their directions. She was to take the front, and she certainly would have no problems taking that position with the rest of the Jedi. With a beckoning gesture to her padawan, indicating for him to attend by her side, she gave a quick glance off to the side where Miri was, giving her a slight gesture too - in this case a curt nod. She wanted everyone here to be safe. No one should be injured or dead by the end, or at least no one if there was any justice in the world. Least of all, she wanted those closest to her to be injured in any way. Her methods of dealing with loss were not amongst the most proficient. The galaxy would not be a place that was fair, or kind, and in no way would the justice see its way through in many situations. Sometimes, maybe, but often it could be delayed, and only after a great deal of loss and suffering may one see the true outcome of their actions, and pray it is a beneficial one.
Stepping from the ship, she came quickly aside Jace as he approached the front of the fortress. Her interactions were few, practically nil. Her presence seemed enough, and the Master Jedi would do a lot of the work as he worked their way inside the gates without issue. Her eyes moved from side to side beneath the hooded protection of her robes, significantly dark to mask the lack of Dark Side corruption, but still not enough to completely obscure the few strands of gold that slithered from the edge and poked through across the top. Hair colour was not a hint to Force alignment, thankfully, but at the distance they were at she doubted whether they'd be able to notice a few strands of vaguely distinguishable colour. Her skin was pale, but then many Jedi and Sith shared this trait, and others did not. Not a problem.
Stepping through the forbidding walls was like entering a new world, and all around her she could detect the danger of automated guns, soldiers and technology designed to shoot and kill. Her mind already flashed back a few weeks to the incident with Forge, and unconsciously her steps took her more protectively before her padawan, determined not to lose track of him for several hours as she had previously. Her lightsaber was close at hand, but the Force was already armed and equipped in her mind, and it would take but a single event to trigger off the riots of the base that would likely end in much bloodshed. Her breathing slowed, drawing in deeply and breathing out calmly. The green, precious eyes fluttered closed, and as the first shout came out she burst them open to a blaze of light. The world was alight, as the figures went in motion, and as Jace moved into the base she was there on his flank, drawing her saber to attend to a guard on their right.
The green blade exploded from the hilt, slicing the air apart gracefully and magnificently up to its tip, and its first order of business was to effortlessly twist in her grip, deflecting a blaster bolt into the ground by her feet. Her steps took her away from Jace's side, but he doubted he needed the assistance with other Jedi surrounding them. Each of them was perfectly capable, and as a unit they would protect each other. That was, really, what the Jedi group did best - survival through synergy. Her synergy was with her blade at the moment, however, and the second bolt came burning towards her as the soldier refused to let the one block deter him. Her block with the blade this time defused to be as lenient, and the shot returned to the man's neck, killing him instantly and painlessly. One thing she had learnt on Metellos was that there was sometimes people would not go down easily, and it had changed her. Not too much though, obviously. She was still a Jedi, and still fighting for what was right.
Her attention came immediately to her left as a man brandishing a vibro blade came swinging downwards with the sharp edge marked for her head. Stepping coolly backwards, the sword passed in front of her, rustling the cloak and shredding a few strands, and flaring her hair out a little more from beneath. Her face remained expressionless, watching the weapon drop before her, and the man's focus to slowly start to direct itself to his right, where she stood. Her blade did not connect with him, but rather the quick twist on her left leg enabled her right one to fly around. The full length came into his torso, and with the assistance of the Force his body moved far more freely than how it would otherwise have played out. She barely struggled for balance as the figure flew backwards, blade dropped to the ground, and throat coughing, struggling for air. A harmless strike, as the Jedi liked it.
Righting herself, she directed her vision further within the base. The Jedi were swift, and much work had already been done at the first layer, but there were more within. She could sense the Dark side, and not far away. With a slight hiss, her saber extinguished itself and she slowly prowled further into the base.

The rather eccentric Sith stepped forward, tossing his cloak aside. There was no doubt he was powerful than the previous two he had just fought, whats more, he knew it. A certain arrogance in his gait that Jace had observed in many darkside users. Though this man's arrogance wasn't exactly based on pure ego either. The Jedi watched as his opponent slowly stalked forward, confidence rising with each step. Jace readied himself, but held back from drawing his lightsaber for the moment.
"Prepare yourself!" yelled Svizgar
The Sith shot forward and began with a series of rapid jabs. Jace dodged nimbly, shifting his weight back and forth to avoid the attacks. Then came the hacks and slashes, and the Jedi was put on the defensive. Jace acknowledged his opponent's skill with the lightsaber. So far he had only been using Makashi, but he was quite adept at it. He was taking his time to gauge his opponents skill, but he couldn't keep this up indefinitely, it was about time to go on the offensive.
Jace ducked under the next swing, shifted his weight, and sent his fist towards the man's midsection. Svizgar seemed to be surprised by the quick change in pace and managed to barely dodge the strike. While Jace wasn't using a lightsaber, he packed a hard punch, which was partly aided by the Force. He ran forward again and followed with a series of rapid punches aimed at the Sith's body managing to only to land one glancing blow. Then Svizgar was back on the attack again, and Jace was once again on the defensive.
Narrowly avoiding a slash, Jace jumped backward to reveal a piece of his robe at had been cut. The Jedi began to gather the Force about him as Svizgar charged at him. Just before the Sith reached him, Jace unleashed a massive telekinetic wave. Svizgar, surprised by the size of such a wave, attempted to strengthen his barriers but was still launched back into the cavern's wall. Jace sprinted forward with a burst of speed at the recovering Sith. He closed the distance in moments and sent his fist straight at the man's face. Svizgar barely managed to roll to the side, avoiding Jace's fist which crashed with enough force to shake the cavern wall. The Jedi jumped just in time to avoid getting his legs cut by a lightsaber. Svizgar rolled backwards and slowly got to his feet, blood trickling from his head.
He was suddenly hit by a strong sense of urgency. Something was coming, and its hate was all consuming. It seemed that Svizgar had sensed it too, for a grin appeared on his face. This wasn't good at all. Jace knew he needed to finish this fight, and he needed to do it now. He began to focus on the cavern roof directly above his opponent. Raising his hands towards the roof, it began to shake and slowly crack. Then with a large burst of the Force, it cracked completely and a section of the roof came crashing down towards the Sith. Svizgar dived forward narrowly avoiding the cascading rocks, and quickly came to his feet....right in time to see Jace's fist.
There was a large crack as the Sith's nose broke under Jace's fist. The Jedi wasn't finished though, as he followed with a series of rapid punches to the man's chest. The Sith crumbled to his knees, coughing up blood, unable to stand. Breathing heavily, he managed to mutter "Damn...you..." before collapsing to the ground. Though he wasn't dead, the chances of him surviving without help were very low. He had more pressing matters at the moment though, for he could feel multiple presences fast approaching. Jace concentrated hard, trying to identify the rapidly approaching beings, and opened his eyes slowly as understanding dawned on him.

Vicious snarling beasts. Glowing crimson eyes as if they were portals to the darkside itself. Saliva dripped from hungry jaws, eager, anticipating. Row upon row of devilish teeth, dripping with malicious intent. They fed, they killed, but most of all, they consumed. The Force was the rarest of delicacies in their case, one that could simply not be passed up. They were the Tuk'ata, they were Sith hounds.
It was no wonder the Sith Lords of old entrusted their tombs to such malevolent beasts, they had so much in common
Grandmaster Jace Beleren stood ready at the center of the dimly lit cavern. Well about as ready as anyone who was face to face with a trio of Sith hounds could be. The crumpled body of a man lay only feet from where Jace stood, a Sith he had defeated not moments ago, two others lay farther back. It was so like the darkside to not give him even a brief respite. A Jedi truly was destined to deny the lure of the darkside with every breath he took. The sound of hurried footsteps broke Jace from his reverie as a pair of Sith appeared from one of the tunnels. They stopped just behind the hounds, and showed little surprise at Jace's presence.
"So this is what they were all excited about, just another Jedi" stated one of the pair, condescension quite apparent in his tone.
"Shut up you fool"
"What did you just say to me!?" was the heated reply
"Calm down for a second, you blithering idiot and look." The calmer of the pair motioned to the three bodies lying on the floor. "He is not just another Jedi. Look, even the Tuk'ata can sense it, and they are more reckless than you"The other seemed to have calmed down, and studied the bodies, the hounds, and finally Jace.
"What do you suggest we do then?"
"Be cautious, if you can manage that"
His companion merely snorted in contempt at the comment, but had obviously shifted to the side of caution. Aside from the occasional snarl, it was silent. Neither Jace nor the Sith duo moved, to say the atmosphere was tense was an understatement. Then Svizgar let out a low groan, and two of the hounds shot forward. Jace's entire body tensed, ready to strike...except there was no need. Two of the hounds bounded over to Svizgar's body, and were there in only a few quick strides. He knew what was going to happen next, and he also knew there was nothing he could do. If tried to attack those hounds, he would leave himself open to the remaining hound and the two Sith.
He watched as one of the Sith hounds head bent down, followed by a loud scream. The second join in seconds later and the screams soon stopped. Jace averted his gaze after a few seconds, he had seen enough. The remaining hound looked over at its peers and then focused on Jace again, apparently it had a more refined appetite. The calmer Sith then nodded to his companion, who grinned, and drew his lightsaber as he charged forward. The other Sith hound also shot forward, much faster than the human. Jace jumped backward, gathering the Force about him as he did. He thrust out both of his hands, palms facing outward projecting a powerful Force wall. The Force sensitive Tuk'ata sensed it, but it was moving too fast and inertia took control. The hound hit the wall with enormous force, a loud crack, and slumped to the ground.
The Sith had fallen behind the hound and was far enough to avoid the wall, continued to charge towards Jace. He covered the distance quickly with the aid of the Force, and slashed quickly at the Jedi. Jace spun to the right, narrowly dodging the strike, quickly countering with a punch. Dodging, the Sith backpedaled, surprise clear on his face. Jace launched forward, he couldn't afford to waist time, not with those Sith hounds around. He followed with a series of jabs but didn't manage to land a hit. Though obviously reckless, this Sith was undoubtedly talented. So it went back and forth, neither able to score a solid hit. The Sith soon began to get frustrated which gave Jace an opening, which he took advantage of by landing an open palm on the Sith's chest. He was about to go in for a second strike when pure instinct caused him to dive to the side. Lightning shot passed where he had been moments ago.
Jace turned to regard the other Sith, who was now much closer and stood there calmly with an outstretched hand. It seemed that this partnership not only differed in mentality but also in their skills. It made them a dangerous pair. He didn't have to contemplate such things for the other Sith was once again upon him. The Jedi executed a series of dodges and then counters, his opponent was starting to tire but so was he. Sensing another Force attack from the side, Jace's left arm shot out to the right, palm facing outward. He then raked his right hand through the air, almost as if he was scratching someone. The movement shot a plume of dirt into the attacking Sith's face as Jace held off telekinetic attack. Jumping back, the Jedi bought himself a brief respite.
"Tell me Jedi, what is your name?" inquired the calmer of the pair
"Jace Beleren" replied the Jedi in a flat tone
"So you're the....well that explains a great deal"
He couldn't keep this up, already he had battled three Sith. He couldn't keep up an extended front against two more, and then three Sith hounds. The Jedi quickly scanned the area, his mind kicking into overdrive. His eyes closed, and he focused on the influx of variables, shifting through them rapidly. He slowly opened his eyes moments later, exhaling deeply as he did. Jace had multiple scenarios in mind, and none of them were what he would call optimal. He could feel the Sith gathering the Force about him, preparing for another attack. It was now or never, Jace sprang to action.
The Jedi's hand flashed to his lightsaber, and then shot out toward the right. Jace let go of his saber as his arm reached its maximum extension, sending the saber hurtling toward the Force using Sith. Jace charged forward even as the other Sith began to charge towards him. Hands low, and both palms open, Jace focused on the two bodies behind the Sith. Their lightsabers shot toward Jace and more importantly, towards the back of the Sith. Igniting in midair, the Sith was forced to turn and deflect the sabers. The Jedi Master sent his focus towards Svizgar's corpse. Svizgar's lightsaber bolted from his side and directly into Jace's hand. The Sith turned and sent a hasty horizontal swipe, expecting Jace to be unarmed. Too late, Jace had taken a gamble and anticipated the swipe, and was well below it. The Sith's eyes went wide as Svizgar's lightsaber ignited, and passed clean through his middle. His corpse it the ground in not one but two pieces.
Not wasting a moment, Jace pivoted and charged at the other Sith. He had managed to dodge the Jedi's saber but it had also prevented him from attacking. Now Jace was closing the distance rapidly, and the Sith knew that once the Jedi got in close, it was over. He could sense the Sith charging up for another attack, and focused on creating as strong a barrier around him as he could. A good thing too, for deadly lightning stuck the barries not moments later. Jace pushed forward, straining to keep his barrier intact from the constant barrage of lightning. Just as his barrier was about to break, Jace had reached his opponent, who just barely managed to dodge his first strike. The Sith hastily drew his lightsaber, but Jace's constant stream of precision strikes was too much for him to handle. His opponent soon fell under the blows and fell dead to the ground.
Breathing heavily, the Jedi was almost completely spent. Unfortunately for him, the Sith hounds cared nothing about his current state. They charged at him, swiping their deadly claws at his body. He grunted in pain as one of them managed to score a shallow hit on his chest. Any deeper and they would have disemboweled him. In an act of desperation, Jace hurled Svizgar's lightsaber at them. With agility that even Jace could not have guessed, they both deftly dodged it. Jace turned to the right, and bolted forward. The Jedi needed to buy himself time to think of something. The only problem was, Jace's Force sustained run was not going to last, and the Tuk'ata would easily overtake him.
He ran, but he was nearing the end of the cavern where he had the bodies of the three Sith lay. This was it, he had to think of something now, or it was all over for him. Jace struggled, he needed to focus, but he couldn't do it while sustaining his Force run. He suddenly slowed, the hounds were almost there, he focused. The two lightsabers he had thrown at the Sith earlier, launched from the ground and into Jace's hands. The Tuk'ata jumped, sure that they had finally caught their prey. Jace dived forward, spinning in the air as he did. The sabers sprang to life, as the hound's jaws closed in on Jace's arms. All three crashed to the ground, Jace was breathing heavily, wincing as he tried to shut out the pain. The lightsabers had pierced right through the top palette of the hound's mouth and into their brains. Their teeth had created deep gashes on his forearms, but he was still alive. He shuffled backwards slowly until he rested against the cavern wall. Letting out a deep sigh, the Jedi made a mental note to himself...
....Stay away from Sith Tombs

He could sense the immense power of the force before he heard the deafening roar. It was the force, his lifeline, that had lifted his head, perked his interest like an animal hearing it's master's call. He thought for a moment, trying to narrow down that force presence. It was one he knew. It was the Grand Master, and if he had to use that much force, and make that much noise, he knew that the man was in trouble. Jace was too important to the Jedi Order. Kaiven decided in an instant, his assistance was required elsewhere, away from his lonely searches of the dimly lit, almost pitch-black caverns.
He broke into a run, pushing all of his force downwards, into his legs. He could feel the increased power flowing into his muscles, and he loved it. It was like a drug to him. He was addicted to the feeling of power it gave him. He wove his way through the tunnels, reaching out with the force with every breath, sending out his aura like waves. Where they bounced back, he knew there was an object. Radar. He smirked at his own genius as he ran. Suddenly, however, the waves bounced back with a different message.
His boots skidded in the dirt as he slowed, stopping infront of the three figures before him. He could feel them, and knew that two were of knight level, and another must have been an apprentice. Except these were no mere Jedi. He could sense the terrible plague of the dark side on them. He could almost smell it.
"Let Griffin tackle him. The man is alone, old, and weak. It's time he proved himself worthy."
No more words were spoken as the apprentice stepped out, reaching into his robes. From inside, he pulled two glistening silver swords. Kaiven smiled to himself.
"Griffin, is it? Listen to me, Griffin, if you attack me, you will find that the Dark side is deceptive. Their promises of power are untrue. If you weild those blades against me, I shall cut you down."
The young man rushed forwards regardless, and Kaiven shook his head. Such poor form this young man had been taught. Kaiven merely stepped back, swaying from side to side as the slashes came in, slicing through the air where his shoulders had just been. He allowed the apprentice to come forth. It was what he had hoped for. The two began to speed up, except suddenly Kaiven's momentum changed. He stepped forward, gripping the hilt of one of the swords, aswell as the man's left wrist. He spun once, ripping the sword from the man's grip, before spinning again, slicing under the man's armpit. He watched the spurt of blood, and knew he'd hit his target. The radial artery. This man would soon die. He stepped under a weak, slow swing, before bringing the hilt up to the man's jaw, knocking him out.
"It's unfortunate that your apprentice had to die. Atleast he is unconscious, and will not feel the pain of his imminent death." Kaiven spoke simply, "Now, which one of you is next?
He watched as one of the knights, the larger, jumped forwards, his blade emitting from his lightsabre. He knew this one meant business, but he had made a stupid mistake in not watching Kaiven's previous actions. Kaiven smirked at how much easier this would be than the apprentice. He stepped forwards once again, one hand coming up to infront of his face, ready to catch, the other stretching out to his side. The man's wrist hit Kaiven's catching hand first, before his throat collided with Kaiven's arm, slamming him to the ground. He pulled upwards on the arm, before stomping his foot down to the man's jaw, snapping his neck with a sickening crack.
It was then, however, that he felt the strong force pulse from the third figure. He looked across, expecting to see the dark-cloaked form again. Instead, what he came to see amazed him. She was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. Clearly Echani, her silver-blonde hair and silver eyes seemed to catch all of the light in the cavern. What little clothing she wore was tight and black, and her white skin glowed almost as bright as the red lightsabre in her hand. Kaiven almost cursed. A duel with an Echani was not what he had in mind.
The woman moved forwards, and he reached up, unclasping his cloak and pushing it off his shoulders to reveal his muscular arms. He lifted his right hand, and his saber snapped upwards, the force guiding it into his hand. As soon as skin touched metal, the violet beam slid from the end of the hilt. He pushed his left foot forwards, bringing his sabre up above his head and gripping it with both hands. The Djem-So High Guard. He would begin aggressive, switching to Makashi if he needed to.
The woman moved to an Ataru stance, and Kaiven smirked. Typical. She moved to side-step to his right, so he cut it off by turning slightly and stepping to his right. There was no way in hell he was allowing her to get behind him or beside him. He stepped forwards, making ther first attack, slashing downwards into thin air. He ducked, spinning away immediately as the red saber moved through at head height. He slashed to his side, one handed, this time his blade met his opponent's.
"I don't believe we've met." Kaiven said, switching to Makashi. He began twirling his saber, blocking the extremely fast slashes before he continued, "I am Kaiven Te'Baas, Jedi High Councillor. What may I call you?"
There was a pause in conversation as the two blades repeatedly collided, "You know, it's rude not to introduce yourself when someone introduces themselves." He spoke, trying to get under her skin, to put off her concentration. He did, however, get an answer. "My name is Tiyana. But you may call me your death."
The blows kept coming, and Kaiven kept defending and dodging. He knew though, that his age would play against him in this fight. He was not as fast or fit as the beautiful woman anymore. As she moved in, he noticed a weakness. She lifted her front leg to step as she delivered each strike. It gave her a slightly quicker pace than most ataru practitioners, except Kaiven didn't use ataru. When she moved to slash again, Kaiven quickly changed to Djem-So again, stepping in and slashing downards, hitting her planted back leg.
He watched as she slid for some distance before rolling, screaming in pain. He shook his head for a moment, lifting his hand. "Do not worry, I am not your death. I am sure the darkness will be." With that, he pushed the force through his hand, sending the woman flying into the rock wall with a crunch.
He turned, restarting his force-aided sprint. He gripped his cloak as he did so, pulling it over himself as he ran. Once again he pushed out his force like a radar, feeling his way. He did, however, feel a warm, light patch. He knew it was the man he was looking for. As he ran, he noticed things. Marks of fighting. A collapesed roof. Bodies. He knew why Jace had used so much force power. He understood everything now.
He skidded to a stop once again, this time, his gaze looking downwards to the bottom of the wall. He reached out a hand before saying, "Grand Master. I thought I heard your presence in this area. However, I do not believe I was the only one. Are you injured?" His eyes peered through his mask at the man sitting crumpled near the bottom of the wall.

He could feel himself fading away from consciousness. Jace forced himself to stay awake, it was too dangerous to pass out here. The Jedi had utilized a great amount of Force over a short period of time in his previous battle. Even a high council member such as himself could only use the Force to a certain extent without getting exhausted. He knew the dangers of coming here, but to think he would have had to face off against that many Sith and then the hounds.
Just like Ilum...
Ilum. He had traveled to the frigid planet to obtain a peace he could not find on Coruscant, a peace necessary to create his new lightsaber. Jace had traveled there with Rhissai, one of the two people he considered a true friend. Once their lightsaber construction had been complete, they were assault by multiple Dark Jedi. They had ties to Rhissai's past, for which Jace knew was riddled with dark holes. So they fought against the odds, and came out victorious. No, it was not a victory. He had gone to seek peace and instead found battle and death. Now, Rhissai had gone out to for the very same reason but this time new what awaited her. It wasn't just her either, Vreem had gone too. The two people Jace had ever considered friends had gone to war against his wishes...
Jace couldn't afford to dwell on such thoughts any longer. In fact his arms were bleeding quite profusely. Luckily for him, he had strong forearms so the hounds bite didn't reach the bone. The Jedi had a talent for dealing with extreme pain, so that wasn't so much the problem as his body not being able to function properly. There was only one option left for him. He ignited his lightsaber and slowly began to cauterize his wounds. Though he had a high tolerance for pain, it still seeped through and he grit his teeth, holding back a yell. After he had finished, he tore part of his robe off and wrapped his arms with the makeshift bandage.
He soon sensed another presence approaching, and he knew he would be in trouble if it was a Sith. Luckily the figure was wearing Jedi robes and as he approached his mask became clear. This could have been no one other than his fellow council member, Master Te'Baas. He studied the man, and sensed that he had experienced his own battle in this place.
"Injured, yes I suppose I am but I can manage" He said as he slowly got to his feet and steadied himself. "There still may be some Sith hounds, I suggest we deal with them, and then rendezvous with the others"
The Jedi was injured, but by no means was he helpless. He had been beaten up, bruised, and bloodied before, it was just another lesson to be learned. The Order was counting on what the strike force did here today. Maybe he wasn't going to war to directly combat the Sith Empire, but he was supporting the galaxy in his own way. He was too stubborn to give up and die here.
I wouldn't give those two the satisfaction he thought with a rare grin

Kaiven allowed his eyes to trace over the Grand Master as he stood. There were tears all over his robes. Blood. His eyes paused on the arm. There was so much blood there, any normal man would have been unable to stand, but Kaiven knew that this was no normal man. This was the Grandmaster, the wisest, most powerful Jedi in existence on this very day. It was an honour to stand side-by-side with such a powerful man.
"I assume it is the dead hounds that did this much damage to you, Grand Master?" He asked, interested, "Fortunately, I have not found any Tuk'ata so far, although I am sure that many of them would have tasted your force usage. I believe it would be wise if we kept our guard up, and forgive me, Grand Master, but with how exhausted you are, I believe I should lead, following your directions of course." He bowed slightly as he spoke, hoping that his voice seemed respectful. It was then, however, that he heard a low whisper.
He recognised the tongue from his studies, although it was a language he did not understand, and he knew that these foul creatures were the only ones to speak it. The Sith Language. The Tuk'ata. He turned, lifting his hilt from his belt once again as he faced where the darkness had just been. They glowed like embers, those bright, evil eyes. He shifted his weight slightly before saying, "There are four. This will be exceptionally difficult, Grand Master. Are you up for another two?" He stepped closer, more infront of the Grand Master. A defensive move. He would gladly give his own life to save that of the Grand Master if it came down to it.
The whispers between the hounds became quieter and quieter, eventually falling to a stop. Suddenly, however, the hounds rushed forwards, all at once. Kaiven's attention immediately focused on the two that seemed most intent on killing him from the on set. Jace was a powerful Jedi, he was sure that the other man would be able to withstand the onslaught. He began swaying again, this time avoiding those glistening, dangerous claws and teeth as they came at him again and again.
Kaiven began tirring once again, the ruthless onslaught proving nearly impossible to defend against. He saw an opening and moved quickly, slashing at an on-coming front paw, severing it, before ramming his lightsabre into the Tuk'ata's head, hitting it directly between the eyes. As he turned, pulling the blade out, however, he caught sight of the next hound, it's claws lashing out towards his face.
He fell to the ground, his hand racing to his mask. there was a long, deep gash in the Echani-made metal, but not all the way through. The only real damage was his left eye, unprotected due to the vision slit. Luckily, it had just scratched, and his eye was intact. He did know, however, that he now had one more scare to add to the collection. It was then, however, that he noticed the Tuk'ata pounce, and instinct drove him to push his sabre upwards.
The blade went into the hound's mouth, pushing out through the brain and top of the head, splattering the roof of the cavern with the large liquid's blood. He felt the dead weight falling, but managed to drag himself out of the way in time. He sat, panting for a moment, before looking around for the other Jedi.

"Indeed" was his simple response to the Master's query. It had been more closer to dead hounds and multiple Sith, but Jace wasn't exactly in a pedantic mood. There had been a decent amount of time between his last battle, and he had used to the time on replenishing himself. Obviously there was only so much he could achieve in his current state, but it should be enough to get him back to the ship, unless they ran into the Dark Lord of the Sith himself.
Yet another answered question
Could there be a Sith Lord out there, conducting this malice? Vreem's opponent had claimed that he was, but the Jedi did not believe him. Jace was also quite skeptical about that man being the Sith Lord. If he had managed to stay in the shadows this long, Jace doubted that he would so blatantly announce his existence. Though it was hard to believe that current events were not guided by one malevolent will. No, the Jedi Master believed there was some Sith Lord out there, but his identity was still hidden. The dark side truly was efficient at clouding everything.
It didn't seem like Jace would have time to reflect on such things though, approaching company was imminent. This time there was no Sith but only hounds, four of them. Kaiven asked him if he could handle at least two of them. Jace didn't really have a choice, he was near his limit, but his break had helped him regain some of his fighting strength. The Jedi master would have to finish this quickly, extended battle would shorten his chances of surviving. He quickly looked at his surroundings, analyzing his possible options. The Jedi Grandmaster took inhaled deeply, gathering the Force about him, and then charged forward.
He focused hard on the hound to the right, and sent a strong wave of the Force towards it. It growled as it was sent flying backwards, unable to dodge in time. The Jedi then began hurling decent sized stones at the remaining hound. They didn't really hurt the Tuk'ata but they did distract it. Jace launched forward with a burst of Force induced speed and when he was only a few feet away, dived, rocketing towards the hound. He tackled the Sith hound with a tremendous force, and the pair skidding roughly across the cavern floor. Grabbing the hounds neck, Jace's arms and hands began to crackle a bright blue. He then proceeded to channel, non-lethal but paralyzing energy into the hound. The hounds body went limp but Jace knew he only had a few moments before it could regain movement. Summoning his lightsaber from the ground nearby, he ignited it, raised it high, and brought it straight down through the throat of the hound.
There was no time for respite though, as Jace rolled to the side, barely dodging the other hound. Jace stood panting, lightsaber in hand, as the crimson eyed hound watched hungrily. The hound shot forward quickly, and Jace worked his lightsaber furiously to keep the monster at bay. Once again warning signs went off in Jace's head, reminding him that he was nearing his limit. The Jedi suddenly had an idea, but it was more than just a little risky, if he missed then his death was certain. He had run out of option though, he had no other choice. Even as Jace fought, he focused on his presence in the Force, reducing it slowly.
The Jedi then swept his hand, sending a large cloud of dirt and debris into the hound's face. The hound's vision cleared and was suddenly confused by the lack of its meal in front of it, even the Force presence had gone. The beast switched to its normal senses of smell, looking up just in time to see Jace falling towards it. The Jedi along with his lightsaber came down right on top of the hound. Those mere seconds of confusion had bought Jace the precious time he needed. If the hound had avoided, Jace would have been open for attack. Jace got to his feet, staggered, but through sheer will remained standing. He called out to his fellow Jedi, seeing that he had taken care of his opponents.
"Master Te'Bass, I think it is time that we retreat to the rendezvous point" He said panting heavily. He was barely able to stand, but he had to remain strong. The least he could do was make it back to the ship on his own power. He was sure that there were some who would never leave this place, Jace silently prayed for their souls.

Retreat? From this place of total, enveloping darkness? Kaiven new the position the Grand Master was in. Injured, exhausted, and feeling defeated. It was not a case that could be helped, and he knew that Jace Beleren's survival was paramount to the oncoming, inevitable war. Therefore, Kaiven Te'Baas knew what he had to do.
"Grand Master, you are exhausted, injured and not capable of further action. I recognise that. I also recognise that for what is to come, you are needed. You inspire people in a way that I could only ever dream. You show no fear, and are willing to stand for what is right. It is for that reason, that you must survive this mission.
Unfortunately, Master, this mission's importance in future events is critical. Whatever darkness we face here must be defeated, wether by strength, knowledge or tenacity. This darkness threatens all that we have strived so hard to build. Not just our Republic and our social freedom, but the freedom of our hearts and souls. A freedom the dark side will not allow us to live.
Grand Master, your life is of paramount importance, and it is for that reason that I will aid you in your transit to the rally point. However, with the future possibly resting on the outcome of this mission, I am afraid that I cannot wait there with you. I must continue. I know that it is my purpose in the force to safeguard this Republic that I love from the dark forces who wish to destroy it. Jace, I know that the force wills me to complete this monumental task that lays before us. Allow me to take the burden of the further action we must take, because, in the end, you are needed, I am expendable, and possess the required skills."
He looked at the man across the cavern from him, the claret running from the gash over his eye clouding his vision. He reached up, un-clasping the damaged mask and removing it from his heavily scarred face. It would only provide a distraction until repaired. He held it out for Jace to take it, "Jace, I have faith and fully believe that I shall return to meet you at the rallying point, however, if something does occur, and I am not able to make it, please bury my mask inside the Room of One Thousand Fountains."
He covered the distance to the Grand Master quickly and said simply, "But, before I depart, allow me to guide you, it is not far to the rally point, and you are weakened." He motioned in the direction they needed to travel, before he himself began walking in that direction.
He felt the darkness surrounding him ease as they approached the rally point. He knew that it was a safe area, cleansed. To say the darkness eased, it did not become more dispersed with a beacon of light, it was the feel, the absence of that evil, deep hatred. Eventually, Kaiven saw the point infront of them. He turned to the Grand Master and said simply, "Grand Master, what is it you expect I should find, or that I should be looking for?"
