Kiala had left Dantooine and the DLA behind. There was nothing for her there. She was treated as an outcast and a pariah. Her only friend was Saer and even she seemed to have turned her back on Kiala. She couldn’t stay there anymore. As she had made her way off world she had to run the blockade. It was tricky and the 'Sparrow' took several heavy hits, including one to the main hyperdrive, and another to the ion engines. She was lucky to get the secondary hyperdrive online just as she cleared the blockade. She set coordinates for Ondoran, she had contacts there that could help her find work...maybe she could run the blockade again and bring in much needed supplies for the DLA. who knew. Yes that’s what she would do. She would get together some actual fighters and bring them back to the DLA
Kiala tried her best to fix the engines, but she was no Saerith or Kabira and these engines were very sophisticated. Damn it she should have brought at least a couple astromech droids. When her ship finally came out of hyperspace she barely had engines and her angle of entry to Ondoran the Sparrow would have burned up. She took the only other option open to her, Dxun, at wich point her ion engines gave out in earnest.
“Mayday Mayday, this is Kia Starseeker, I have lost engines, I repeat, Mayday…I have lost engines and am coming in for a crash landing…my approximate coordinates will me 145, 123”. She didn’t get anything out after that, having to concentrate on the landing. As the ship plummeted to the ground, Kiala struggled to keep control, deploying the air flaps, and somehow getting enough power to engines to hit them in full reverse. Regardless of her efforts ‘Sparrow’ slammed into the ground and started to skid, leaving a long swath of forest plowed under. The damage is extensive to ‘Sparrow’, not that Kiala notices, she struck her head on the main consul and blacked out upon impact.
She awakens to the sound of walking, and somewhere in the back of her mind she remembers Dxun in a Mandalorian world and mutters in fluent and flawless mando’a, “I…I…am…not…an….enemy”

[After the thread New Leader, Familiar Ideals on Concord Dawn]
Arwyn reached forward and pulled back the lever to bring her ship out of hyperspace, her helmet on the floor beside the chair she was sitting in. She'd heard about Taris needing help with their Rakghoul problem from the holonet. Rakghouls were vicious slimy mutated things that still gave her goosebumps whenever she thought about them. So having nothing else better to do and the thought of a worthy challenge exciting her, Arwyn headed straight to Taris after she'd delivered Blanche with the help of a couple Jedi, Locke Nesmee and his apprentice Jazen. There too she'd got more than she'd bargained for, and in more than one way. She'd met up with her brother after who-knew-how long and fought with him in the middle of a cantina. A part of her was still ashamed she'd lost control like that. It'd worked out for the better though, as while they were fighting the Rakghouls, the siblings had finally settled their differences. That's when they'd heard about the funeral for Solus'ad, the previous Manda'lor, and about the initiation ceremony for the new Manda'lor, Bane Haseful.
So, being the good and loyal little Mando that she was, she headed for Concord Dawn after she felt that she'd killed enough Rakghouls to replenish her bank account and then some. Just then Winter, her wraith-like Artifcial Intelligence that helped her run the ship, appeared, she'd taken it with her when her older brother Cirith, insisted that she take the Sabre back on Concord Dawn, just before he revealed that he was going to try to join the Special Operations division of the military. She was still trying to wrap her head around that one. "Um..excuse me, Ms. An'Gol?" The AI said waving an medievil armored gauntlet at her to try and get her attention.
"Hmmm? Oh, sorry Winter. I've been a little distracted lately. What's up?" Arwyn refocused on piloting the ship through the atmosphere of Dxun. "There is a distress call eminating from within Dxun at coordinates 145 at 123, it sounds like someone has crashlanded onto the surface of the moon" the AI droned monotonously, it's white cloak billowing in a invisble wind. Arwyn thought for a second on the coordinents that were given to her. "Hmm..that's just outside my village's patrol territory by a few miles, in the Zakkeg's hunting territory I believe" Arwyn said more to herself than the AI. The AI misinterpreting her comments straightened up a little "Yes, indeed it is. A very dangerous territory and you are still without fuel for your jet-pack. I recommend rearmamnent, refueling and repairs before venturing into such a territory. Not that you normally listen."
Arwyn chuckled a little "sorry chuckles, this is gonna be another one of those times. Set coordinents to the crash site and prepare to set down at the edge of our patrol territory." The AI simply shook it's hood, crossed it's arms and dissapeared to start it's work. A second later the Sabre changed course, and a few minutes after that Arwyn set the ship down in a small clearing near a small river complete with a waterfall. The trail from the crashed ship was clear as day, the smoke from the crash pinpointing it's location. The only challenge would be avoiding any of the monstrous predators that were out, getting to the ship in time to either render assistance to a downed brother, or to scavenge anything from the craft that might be of use before anybody else got to it.
Just because it was a Mandalorian world didn't mean that there weren't others that had learned how to survive in the treachorous jungles. That in itself was something Arwyn and other Mandalorians found admirable, so anybody that didn't want to bother with the Mandalorian's and try their luck with the wild was tolerated, as long as they didn't try anything stupid, like raiding their stores of supplies hidden throughout the planet.
Ofcourse, that also meant widening the patrol routes when they found yet another supply cache somewhere in the thick growths. Arwyn had often traveled with the patrols as a child and was confident she could navigate the trails without assistance. As soon as Arwyn set down, she opened the forward loading ramp, grabbed her helmet and her newly aqcuired Light Repeating Blaster, just in case she did run into a Zakkeg, a very real possibility this time of year. Arwyn decended the ramp as she donned her Maroon and black helmet, her yellow colored HUD flashing on as it came out of stand by mode with the movement, set the security systems and stepped off the cold metal ramp and onto the damp ground of her homeworld. The ramp ascended a moment later and the air started to dampen into mist, promising yet another hard rain.
A few minutes later...
Arwyn trudged through the thickening brush of the jungle, rain pelting her armor as she followed the path of the increasing debris strewn through the area. Then she arrived at the heated and still smoking dirt trail that had been roughly cut into the jungle. She crept up the hill and peeked over the top, the ship sat still aflame at the bottom of a short gorge. The crash had scared most of the animals away but, some of the braver ones had come to investigate. Arwyn spotted some Maalraas circing the crash site as well as some families of Boma watching intently from the cover of the tree line. I'll hafta move quickly to recover the owner of that ship Arwyn thought gritting her teeth at the thought of a Zakkeg showing up as well. Maalraas and Boma were good enough of a work out without adding a large armored fiercesome and carnivorous reptile to the mix.
Arwyn decended the hill quickly, running as fast as her boots and the animals would allow her. She knew the limits to a Maalraas sense of space before it felt the need to attack, and so tried to give the small predatorial cat-like beasts their space but, more than not she ended up having to shoot a few with her E-11 Blaster Rifle before the others got the idea that she was a bigger threat than they were. She found the pilot easily enough, the poor woman had been tossed onto the main console in the bridge, which was trashed but, repairable.
As Arwyn approached the woman she heard her utter the words "I am not an enemy" in flawless Mando'a. Arwyn looked the woman over, at first glance she didn't look like any Mando'ad that she knew of but, that didn't mean much. Mandalorians adopted all sorts into the culture all the time. "I'm Arwyn, you're safe for the moment. I'm going to take you to my village for medical treatment. Is there anyone else on board?" she said in her own flawless tongue.
Arwyn only had a basic medical knowledge, so she checked for head injuries first and then broken bones next before moving her. The pilot had a light concussion from the looks of it but, Arwyn couldn't be sure. Normally Arwyn wasn't so gentle with people but, this was a special case and it required her to be careful with her patient as head injuries were present. Gingerly Arwyn lifted the woman from off the console, her left hand supporting the woman's back and neck and her right arm tucked in under the knees. Arwyn slowly made her way out of the downed craft and into the pouring rain outside. A dull resonating sound told of the approach of a Zakkeg, no doubt drawn by the scent of the animals clustered under the shelter of the trees and probably the scent of the crash. Once Arwyn had enough room, she slowly shifted the woman to lay across her shoulders, taking care to not bump anything that might've been broken. Arwyn clipped her E-11 to the strap her Light Repeating Blaster hung on and shifted it to the opposite side of the automatic weapon for easy use.
Then Arwyn started the long trek back to her ship her finger on the trigger of her E-11 in case of danger.

Kiala register's the other person talking, but barely. She hurts all over except where she is cyberneticaly enhanced. Her crystalline blue eye's open slightly, "N-no one...else...just...me". Somewhere in the back of her mind she registers being lifted, she is still woozy from the crash. As she is taken out and the first drops of rain strike her upturned face she blinks once, and then again. As she is shifted onto the unknown persons shoulder Kiala begins to struggle and eventually gets free. It is a good thing her knees are cybernetic or they probably would have buckled. She turned toward her savior and blinked, “ I cant…go anywhere…without my…armor…and weapons…”. Kiala turned back to her ship and for the first time saw the extent of the damage, “Saer is going to kill me”. She stumbles as she takes the first step toward the ramp, gripping her side and wincing. She stops as she hears an animal’s roar and draws her pistol. To the trained eye it is some sort of slug thrower. A MAP-77 to be exact. A rather high powered gun. Her right arm doesn’t seem to be able to lift a weapon, but her left has no problem. Despite a long rip in the sleeve. “I’ll be quick…I’ll be able…to move…faster in my armor…its has…strength…enhancers…You better get in here away from…what ever…that is”. Kiala walks up the ramp. As soon as the mandalorian woman is onboard, Kiala closes the door. She goes to a door and forces it open with her left arm. Inside is her armory. Kiala strips off her jump suite and this reveals her lithe, muscled form…along with her cybernetic arm, and that both legs are cybernetic from just above the knee down. Her back is riddled with scars. She isn’t naked, but is wearing a sports bra and spandex shorts. She takes something from within a drawer and holds it up. It appears to be her armor. She slips it on, and it fits her form like a glove. She winces throughout the process, “I think I cracked a couple ribs…”. Her Mando’a is still flawless, but her accent can be heard. It is obvious though she learned it from a mando’ade, she wasn’t born one. She slides a second MAP-77 into a hip holster, four knives, and last of all a beskad. She picks up her helmet and slips it on her head, before picking up a long case, and slinging her H&K C6k Carbine across her back. Last of all she slips on her helm. It isn’t a traditional Mandalorian helm, but it has the ‘T’ Visor. “I…am Kia Starseeker”, she says picking up the long case and follows Arwyrn out of the ship, one of her MAP-77’s in hand as they exit the ship, listening for the creature from before. Thel shifted uncomfortably in the tight cockpit of the craft in which he was flying. The ship, a F/AL-21 Viper, was one of the few craft that could have its cockpit modified without affecting the rest of the ship in great detail. It was because of this fact that Thel had requested the vehicle. That had been years ago, when he had first been officially accepted into the Mandalorian culture and the craft he flew in to this day was the same one he had been given at that time. Thel had to rip the entire cockpit section off the craft, rescale it, adjust the various components that connected it to the ship and reattach the whole section to accommodate his much larger size. At an astounding height of 7'5 feet tall at when fully extended, the ship's smaller cockpit had simply been a technicality he had to repair. It had taken him several years to get the ship properly remade, but the effort in the end was well worth the struggle.
The ship glided over the forests of Dxun, its controls responsive to the slightest twitch from Thel's massive hands. One of the things he had changed in the process of replacing the cockpit was the sensitivity and response time of the craft's controls, fine tuning them to get the best he could. The result was a ship that could make that daring maneuver just a few seconds quicker....and that was sometimes the difference in battle. And Thel knew very well just how worthwhile that difference was. One of his hands left its iron grip on the stick to adjust several switches on his right, the buttons and screens also scaled to better fit the much larger humanoid. His eyes flicked from the view in front of him to the beeping sound on his radar, a marker indicating his destination.
Not that he needed the marker to show him that. Staring out the canopy of his fighter, Thel could easily see the line of destruction through the trees, see the rising smoke from something burning in the distance. It was there that Thel would find what had brought him out this far. It was still early in the day when a resounding sonic boom had woken him from his sleep, a sleep that he had only just managed to drift into. He had snarled at the thought of an impending fight, his body already clearing his bed before his mind had fully awakened. But the benefit of being part of a culture that prided itself on its military ability, Thel was quick to come to full alertness. He had rushed outside, his tilted head rising to the sky as his serpent like eyes scanned for the source of the sound. Thel had expected to see enemy craft coming down, or a fight erupting in the skies above.
The only thing he spied was a single dot, red hot in appearance even at this distance. It streaked across the sky, only miles from where the base he was stationed at rest. As Thel watched it descend, his mind was quickly scrolled through the possibilities of what the falling item could be. It couldn't be a star; a star didn't make a sonic boom as it entered atmo. The same applied to a meteor, unless the meteor in question had been shot into the atmosphere at an intense speed. That left him with only one real option to consider and his feet were belting the path to the hangar before he the thought fully erupted in his mind. It had to be a ship....mostly likely a crashing ship. It could have been friend or foe; neither mattered to Thel. It would have to be checked out and quickly.
So here Thel was, taking up the role of scout. It was a task he knew quite well from his earlier days and he had no problem undertaking it. In transit, Thel had received word from the base that a transmission from the craft had been sent, most of it blocked by static as it hit the atmosphere. They had only made out several words: Mayday, lost engines, crash. That at least confirmed it had living on it, although the power with which it crashed made Thel doubt those living were still as such. As he came upon the crash site, Thel brought his ship around in a lazy loop, surveying the scene from above. Smoke and fire choked his image of the ship, but from what he could see, she was in only an average state of disrepair. The pilot was either very lucky or very skilled; one unlucky or wrong move could easily have torn the ship in half as it tore through the dense forest.
Thel brought his ship around again, then brought it into a slopping dive towards the wreckage. He followed the trail the ship itself had burrowed through the trees, eying the first open area of destruction large enough to allow his ship to settle. Moments later, Thel shot free of his cockpit, his strong legs bracing him against the impact of his jump. Drawing the rifle from his back, Thel sniffed the air around him for immediate threats and when he found none, he advanced quickly towards the site with a quiet one wouldn't think his massive body could create. His journey was a short one and soon enough, he was standing above the wreckage, eyes darting from shadow to shadow. Finding a way down to the ship had taken longer and by the time he reached an area he could use to approach, new scents had filled his nose. Rain pelted against his armor now, obscuring his view of the area ahead. But even then, he could make out two shadows crawling out from the inside of the ship. Cautious, Thel made the distance between them in seconds carefully brought his weapon to bear. He scanned both figures with his eyes, assessing them tactically. Both of them were armed, making the odds against him. A second glance told him otherwise. The second figure, the one who had exited the craft last, walked with an obvious limp and moved much slower than their counterpart. He also had surprise. After a little debate in his mind with all these factors and more in mind, he made his choice. His rifle came to bear on the first figure, making sure to keep his eyes on the other being as well. His growl hissed through the rain and his voice made itself clear despite the ever intensifying rain. He spoke in clear Galatic Basic, unsure of whether or not these beings would understand Mando if he used it.
"Halt. Identify yourself and throw any weapons you may be carrying to one side. Failure to comply with this will result in a very, very poor ending. For you at least."

Arwyn was about ten feet from the entrance to the ship when her patient began wriggling. A few seconds later the woman got free, sliding her feet down and sliding off Arwyn's back, a feat that shouldn't have been possible due to her condition. Arwyn stumbled forward a few feet and turned, looking at the girl in confusion through the golden slit of her T-visor. The helmet's Terra hertz medical scanner in her visor penetrated the fabrics of the woman's jump suit, identifying the cybornetic appendages that allowed her to move. Arwyn looked around for a second, trying to discern where the great predator was coming from. Instead she spotted a figure in the rain a ways back shouting into the rain but, paid the figure no mind his words lost to the sound of the rain. If he's a brother, then he can probably take care of himself and if he's not I hope he can run fast over slick ground Arwyn thought as she turned around to check on her guest.
She shook her head as the woman stumbled back into the wrecked ship to get her armor, giving an exasperated sigh and sook her head muttering "Adate" ((OOC: Adate means people in Mando'a)) as she started to follow the wounded woman back into the ship. She didn't blame the woman if she was truly a Mandalorian, after all Arwyn probably would have insisted on the same thing if their roles were switched. If she isn't Mandalorian though this is going to be a dangerous waste of time with an adult Boma or Manda forbid a Zakkeg around She thought as she sloshed up to the loading ramp. When she entered the ship again the woman was waiting for her, and shut the door behind Arwyn when she was inside.
"It's a Zakkeg or another Bull Boma, drawn no doubt by the scents of the animals that gathered here a few moments ago" Arwyn said simply in Mando'a, as if it was common knowledge as she followed the pilot further into the ship. There they came upon an armory, where the woman took off her jump suit and fiddled around with a drawer. Arwyn looked the woman over appraisingly, taking in the numerous amount of scars and the lithe musculature of the woman, right down to her spandex panties. "Mesh'la shebs" Arwyn commented beneath her breath as she watched the woman pull out her armor and begin dressing, before pulling out a helmet with a unique looking helmet with a T-visor. The armor fit her like a glove but, she winced with every movement commenting about probably having a couple of broken ribs.
"jate cuyete" ((OOC: jate cuyete means good probability)) Arwyn commented absently as she turned to keep an eye on the hallway that lead back to the outside, not knowing whether the figure she spotted meant to help them or help themselve to the working parts of the ship. Arwyn heard the woman's accent then, and knew that she wasn't Mando'ad (OOC: Mando'ad means a brother, sister, or child of Mandalore)). Arwyn turned as Kiala introduced herself and reached up to remove her helmet. Tucking her helmet in the crux of her arm, she lifted her helmet off, letting her long brilliant red hair fall across her shoulders as it tumbled out of the confines of her helmet "I'm Arwyn An'Gol". Then she stepped into the hallway, bundled her hair up and placed her helmet back on and started towards the ramp, intent on getting them both back to the Sabre where they would be safe. Then finally Arwyn could get Kiala to the village to get her wounds treated. Then she would have time for answers and maybe a good strong drink.
The rain poured down harder as they walked away from the ship, weapons in hand. The figure Arwyn had spotted earlier was still there, slowly making his way forward. They were close enough now that they could probably be heard over the rain. "Aruetiise ra Mando'ad?! Burc'ya ra aru'e?!" ((OOC: in this case she's saying outsider or brother Mandalorian? Friend or enemey?)) Arwyn shouted into the rain as they neared the person ahead of them, her finger on the side of the trigger in case it was an enemy.

Hobbling out of the ship behind Arwyn, Kiala winces behind her helm. The HUD screen picks up movement not far off and she tightens her grim on her gun, her trigger finger sliding into the trigger housing, and turns in the direction of the movement in time to see an imposingly tall individual step out and speak's in galactic basic. Before she can respond the mando’ade beside her spoke in flawless Mando’a. Kiala didn’t drop her weapons, truth be told she didn’t have the strength too. If not for the gun case being held in her cybernetic hand, she would have already dropped it. As for the pistol she held in her right hand, if he wanted it, he would have to take it from her.
At least she thought the massive humanoid was a he. She was tall for a woman, especially with the fact her boots had three inch heels. Keeping the cross section of her visor directly on the large humanoid, she observed Mando’a custom. She wasn’t a mando, but she could play the part if required too. Speaking into her helm, vocalizer off she speaks, “Sparrow…initiate…full…lockdown….”
She looked from Arwyn to the massive humanoid, wondering why they were wobbling. It wasn’t until she was halfway to the ground she realized it had been her wobbling. She barely hears the pounding of the rain, or the voices around her, as everything dimmed and everything went dark.

Surprise sparked in Thel's eyes behind his visor as one of the two figures, the one that stood tall and firm, responded to his question in Mando'a. The possibility of a fellow Mando crashing had crossed his mind, but if that had been the case, they would have sent information about themselves instead of a call for help. This would have prompted the forces to mobilize rescue efforts instead of sending out scouts to investigate instead. Could this person be someone pretending to be a Mandalorian instead, their words a fluke or well prepared attempt to get them into a place only Mando's could go? Or was this simply a Mando who didn't have the time to send the proper intel or equipment and was forced to resort to normal methods?
Thel didn't have enough information to support any claim at the moment but he could tell that they were both armed at least. Armed very well in fact. He couldn't make out all their weapons, but all he had on him was his rifle, a pistol, and his honor sword. Of course, Thel himself could be considered a weapon, but only if he got close enough to turn the fight into a close quarters battle. The odds of that happening were very unlikely.
The pattering rain made the two figures even harder to make out and with a twitch of his head and a grunt, Thel used the suit's HUD to zoom in and clear up the image of the two in front of him. He was lucky his suit and the rain muffled his gasp of surprise; he hated letting people know they had caught him by surprise. The hobbling figure wore armor that, while close in appearance, was not Mandalorian but was still impressive. The more solid figure, the one who had spoken to him, wore clear Mando armor, the t shaped visor matching his own. This meant that at least the one in front was a Mandalorian....but then why were they with someone who was not? Had they crashed here by accident or was here their intended destination? Had they been forced to or was someone using Mando armor as a disguise? Again, too many questions were forming in Thel's mind and he lacked the proper knowledge to answer them. So he went with what he knew. Keeping his rifle leveled at them just in case, Thel activated his suit's external comm so that his voice would be projected above the rain. He spoke in Mando'a for the first few words, directed at the one who had spoken to him, then Galactic Basic for the other.
"I am a brother. Long live the Mandalore!!
I did not expect to find a fellow Mando coming from this crash. Let alone one traveling with one who doesn't appear to be part of our culture. Tell me, who are you and what clan do you represent? Be swift, for speaking Mando'a grants you only a brief moment to explain before I must take the proper course of action for invaders."

Arwyn was relieved to hear that the figure was indeed another Mando'ad, if she had to fight an animal it was going to be hard with just herself without her jetpack fueled, if it was indeed a Zakkeg, or an adult Boma that was making it's way towards them from somewhere. Arwyn spoke in Mando'a as she said "I was on my way home, when I picked up the distress call, so I came to investigate. I am of the clan An'Gol and my name is Arwyn. This is the pilot of that ship behind me but, she is not Mandalorian. I was planning on taking her for medical..." Suddenly there was a wet thump as something the size of a body hit the ground behind her. Arwyn turned and crouched E-11 raised, ready to blast whatever it was that was behind her that was not Kiala Starseeker. Arwyn stared into the helmet of Kiala. She'd fainted. With that, Arwyn let go of her blaster rifle, hoisted Kiala back onto her shoulders carefully and picked up her MAP-77.
Arwyn stood and started forward again, intent on reaching her ship once again. After all the figure, now most definetly Mandalorian and most definetly male, had his answers. "Now, like I was saying. I was going to take her for medical attention before ripping any answers out of her. So, if you'll please move I can be on my way" Arwyn said as she drew near the figure, not intimidated at all by his height or apparent physique. She walked right passed him, slowing only so he could clearly see her family sigil, which was of a mythosaur skull with two vibroblades crossed behind it, the ends of the two blades forming fangs at the bottom of the skull. Arwyn put a hand on Kiala's back to keep her stable as she walked up the hill, her other hand on her E-11 blaster rifle, a finger cautiously near the trigger, her body language clearly read don't mess with me as she walked.
"Follow or don't it's up to you but, try and hinder me any further and you'll be eating my fists. Got it? This woman needs medical attention and I've got some questions of my own. So don't slow me down" Arwyn said in a firm warning that said she meant business and that she was probably use to being in charge.

Somewhere in the back of her mind, Kiala knew she was being carried. Soon there was the sense of being set down. She was swept away into the sea of darkness until once again she was brought to just bellow the surface of conciousness. There is the vague sense of being moved, and her armor being removed. There is some talk about her in mando'a. Coments about her tattoo's, but she cant respond, so heavy is her need to rest.
There is talk of a concussion, broken ribs and internal bleeding. Despite her not being a mando'ade, they treated her with care and respect. Her many scars, armor and weapons declared she was a warrior. The treated her with the respect they believed she deserved. Soon Kiala sank back into the void.
The next time she came out of it, her eye's fluttered open, and she looked around the room. She is in a plain white shirt and pants, her armor, her weapons...all missing. She tries to rise, but cant find the strength. She hurts all over. In the back of her mind she remembers mandalorians dont beleive in pain killers. How lovely.
Speaking in her flawless mando'a, she calls out-" I...is anyone there...could I get...something to drink...."

At the flurry of mando'a from the more solid of the two, Thel's body relaxed just a little. Not only was their mando'a flawless, in both the merging of words and their pronunciation, but the clan she said she was part of was very real. There was always the chance they were making that part up, had chosen a clan they had heard about and said they were part of it. Still, the An'Gol clan wasn't as well known as some of the other clans; it was more likely a clan like Ordo would be overheard and chosen. Unless this was a pro attempting to sneak in, the woman was most likely telling the truth. He didn't lower his weapon right away, however, caution still very much part of his approach to this situation.
As the second woman collapsed, Thel's head drifted to her for a moment before refocusing on Arwyn, who responded with a warrior's alertness to the thump the second woman made upon contact with the ground. Not even bothering to cast Thel a glance, she flung the unconscious woman onto her shoulders and moved to pass by him. As she came upon him, she asked nicely for him to move out of the way....then shoved past him anyway. Had she not stated the reason for her urgency beforehand, Thel might have taken this to heart. Considering the situation presented to him, he decided to let it slide. At least he was sure she was speaking the truth about being a mando now. The symbol on her suit was unmistakably the mark of the An'Gol's.
Thel watched as Arywn huffed it up the hill with her passenger firmly clenched to her. He considered the words she spoke as she came to the top of the hill, almost hostile in both meaning and tone. Thel drifted his head back towards where his ship rested, then back to Arywn. After a little debate within his mind, he grumbled and followed after her. That was one thing Thel always liked about the Mandalorian culture when compared to his own; they both respected the brotherly bond. The sounds of creatures from the surrounding forest echoed above the rain, prompting Thel to double time it up the hill to follow her. Taking up a position behind her to eye the surrounding woods, Thel grumbled an acknowledgment.
"I apologize for my rudeness Arywn of An'Gol. You would have done the same thing in my position, I'm sure. Lead on to your ship; I would provide you with assistance so you can focus on the task of carrying the intruder."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometime later, Thel waited with Arywn while they overlooked the intruder's condition. It wasn't favorable. Her injuries were bad, some of them border lining on being fatal. Had she not been found right away, she might have worsened and most likely, died. Thel had stood by and watched with a warrior's patience as Arywn had worked on her, refusing to sully the woman's pride by attending her wounds. Thel knew that in Mando culture, the tending of a fellows wounds was not as dishonorable as in his. Still, he would not break that code unless only he could aid the wounded; Arywn being here meant he did not have too. He waited till she was done, then tilted his head down to meet her eyes. As he did, he carefully removed his helmet, flexing his mandibles as he did. He was about to speak to her when the woman awoke and asked for water. As Thel attempted to harvest the rain for the woman, he addressed Arywn in clear Mando'a.
"She appears to be coming around. Although I don't put much faith in her chances of survival unless we get her to a proper medical facility, like the one back at base. And it will take some explaining to get her even in.
And I have not yet identified myself. My apologizes. I am Thel Valamdaee, a faithful servant in our lord Mandalore's special ops and intelligence divisions. Many greetings to you and your clan I give."
Arwyn walked to her ship and immediatly put Kiala on the medical bed directly to the right of the lobby near the crew quarters. Winter, her AI pulled up a holographic representation of the damage and instructed her through some of the harder wounds that needed immediate attention, then she bound the scraps, scratches and open scars and put some kolto salve to aid the wounds. To her relief the strange woman was stabilized for the moment but, she knew it wouldn't last long, Kiala needed someone more equipped to deal with her wounds.
Arwyn took off her helmet and wiped a bead of sweat from her brow "I wouldn't have thought trying to help someone stay alive was so envigorating" she confessed in Mando'a, to the Mando behind her who'd decided to tag along after all. "She's stable for the moment but, she'll need better medical attention than I can give, I'm not a field medic" a few minutes later Kiala awoke asking for water, which the other Mandalorian fetched from outside. The Mandalorian introduced himself as Thel Valamdaee after taking off his helmet, revealing the fact that he wasn't Human.
Arwyn nodded in agreement as he spoke and sat up a bit straighter when he mentioned he was part of the special ops "So, you would know my brother then. Cirith An'Gol, tall, dark, handsome in that pissed off kind of way. Cocky, brash, arrogant, with big dark armor that looks like he's crawled through bodies, with alot of weapons and a red T-shaped visor?" Arwyn looked to Kiala again to make sure that she was staying put, then looked back to Thel, a question obviously on mind but, that went unspoken until he answered her question about her brother.
She turns her head toward the sound of the voices. She eyes the two mandalorians she had seen outside. She doesnt speak, it would take to much effort. Lifting her cybernetic arm, one of the few parts of her that doesnt hurt. She presses a button with her right arm, as much as it hurt to do so.
The long case she had brought popped open revealing a slug thrower sniper riffle, four high rate of fire slugthrower pistols, and a incripted comlink--"the..the com only contacts...two...people...Kalla...and Kilgen Fett...they will vouch for me"
Both her arms drop and she slips back into unconciousness, the next thing she knows she is in a different room...an actualy medical fasility
Thel shrugged at Arywn's comment. He knew from several occasions how aiding a fallen brother or sister felt, but joy was not what he felt from those times. Instead, he felt disgraced for having to taint another's honor by giving them treatment, sometimes for things that were only minor in his opinion. he still had much to learn about the strange customs and beliefs of the world outside his home. Much indeed.
When Arywn asked him about knowing a brother of hers, a Cirith An'Gol, Thel paused to contemplate the name. He had to admit to himself, he had never met the man she referred to. His name he had heard several times, that he was sure of. But that was the extent of his knowledge ion the man. Thel was usually on the frontlines as much as he was behind them, or seated in a room surrounded by other Mando's piecing together the data flowing in from all over the galaxy for the intelligence commanders. He would have to see if he had ever served with this Cirith; he needed to start remembering those he worked with.
Turning his attention for a moment to the wounded woman, he was about to give the woman the water when she struggled to say something before passing right back out. He turned his head to the case the woman had on her when she had exited her ship and growled within his throat at the store of weapons within. Caution slid back into his being but he contained it to himself for the moment. Thel's head twitched as he snorted in air, then turned back to Arywn, placing the water beside the out cold woman before addressing Arywn.
"I have heard the name, but I do not know if I remember serving with him. I shall look into it upon my return to base. Which, I believe, is what we should do. I also recommend securing all her weapons in a place where she cannot access them without your presence or word. I'll leave the contacting of the people she indicated to you. I'll head back first and alert the base of your coming, so as to have the proper facilities prepared and ready to go upon your arrival. Perhaps then we can speak more."
Snapping his helmet back into place, Thel shot out into the rain, taking off at a full run back towards his craft. His strong body carried him there in no time, his eyes noting several creatures now swarming around the crashed ship. Something he would have to rectify upon returning to it. He made it back to his ship without trouble and after making the long trip back to the base, Thel alerted the base commander that another Mando was going to be arriving soon with an injured invader.
And with that, Thel waited in the medical wing of the base, waiting for Arywn to emerge from being questioned herself before they were to see to the invader to begin her questioning.
Arwyn nodded at Thel's answer to her question about her brother and took the water he'd gathered, setting it beside the medical bed. Her attention returned to Thel as he suggested storing the mysterious woman's weapons somewhere out of reach "Yeah, good idea. I was just thinking about that as a matter of fact" Arwyn said, once again in Mando'a, picking up the woman's case and moving towards the Sabre's lobby as she followed Thel to the forward loading ramp. There he told her he'd be going ahead and contacting the base to let them know of the situation. Arwyn nodded and watched him run out and into the rain for a minute, then she closed the forward loading ramp and went to stow Kiala's case of weapons where she couldn't get to them and cause any trouble. Just because she was alot nicer to outsiders, generally speaking, than other members of her family, didn't mean she was stupid.
Even if the woman was a fellow Mandalorian, Arwyn didn't trust her, she didn't know her. That was reason enough for the precautions she was taking in her book. Arwyn would give the weapons back to her ofcourse, once she was in good enough condition to hold onto them, but, not until then. Arwyn turned around and slid the seat behind the pilot's seat forward, pressed a button that was cleverly hidden in the crease of the wall, where the two joints met and were joined by another peice of metal. A second later there was a slight click and a hidden storage compartment opened, Arwyn stored the case and closed the hatch, then set the seat back hiding the concealed compartment.
When Arwyn's father had been alive, they'd made this storage compartment together and added an extra seat while on a job on Empress Teta, while they protected a Rodian who worked for a Hutt. That was when Arwyn was only 9 years old. She smiled at the memory. Reality sunk in again and Arwyn shook away the nostalgia, then moved to the pilots seat, input her security code and started up the drives.
A second later the Scarlet Sabre rose into the air, scattering near by animals and turned in the direction Thel had left. Her scanners picked up a ship not far out, thinking that that was Thel's she locked onto his trajectory and flew behind him at a discreet pace. A few moments later, she received landing instructions and the Sabre set down in it's assighned dock. A few moments later, Arwyn carried Kiala in her arms and met up with Thel again.
Kiala tried to rise from the bed she found herself in, but almost instantly felt a set of hands hold her down firmly. Struggling her eye's settled upon an older woman in Mandalorian armor. She eye's the older woman closely, "Were…were am I?"
"in a medical facility in one of our bases, Kiala Drell, The woman said.
At the mention of her actual name Kiala tried to fight free. She had to get away from here. They knew who she was, she had to leave. It didn’t do her any good. They had given her pain killers, wich made her light headed, and she was in to bad of shape. Despite her ability to heal quickly, it would be at least a week before she was able to move around without aid. She eyed the Mando'ad woman again, and saw something familiar there, "Kalla??"
“ No…her cousin. She was contacted and vouched for you…not that it would have mattered. Your ship was looked over and it is clear you had no choice in landing on the moon…we were able to bypass your security codes and look at your original trajectory. If you hadn’t altered coarse, you would have burned up in Onderan’s atmosphere. Any pilot would have made the change in coarse.”
“Were…ehem…is the mando’ade that…brought me here…I would like…to thank them”. She struggles to sit up, and is once again stopped by the medic, who presses a button on the bed to make it raise into a reclined position. The mando’a woman opens the door and calls in the two mando’ade that had brought Kiala in.
Thel remained silent as he watched the doctors at the base attend to Kiala. Other doctors fumbled about the ward, tending to those who had been transferred here with injuries or the unwell. There weren't many rooms in the medical ward either and with some kind of luck, the woman invader had managed to snag the one room they did have available. Arywn had been kept separate from him for the moment, allowing them both to be debriefed on what they saw, the crash, the ship, their contact with the invader. It was procedure, nothing more, nothing less.
Finally, the light signifying that delicate work was being done on the patient dinged off. As Thel waited Arywn to arrive, he went over the details of the intel he had been handed about the woman. Her name was Kia Starseeker, a mercenary by the look of it. Investigation of the ship's flight logs indicated she had come from the Dantooine system but her destination had been part of the data lost in the crash. Perhaps she was one the run from someone or part of the group that occupied the planet. Either way, he hadn't been given specifics on the matter. Information was purest when it came from the mouth of an individual and he personally liked to get it that way. Her ship had crashed due to failure of several of the ships major systems and if the woman had not made the move to land here, she would have surely died. Whether it was dumb luck or skill remained to be seen. And her contact checked out. Still, one was best to be wary.
Finally, movement from his side caught his attention and he turned to see Arywn approaching. With a curt nod, Thel motioned for her to take the lead into the room, for she had found Kia first and therefore deserved the right to question her. Thel was there only to fill in any blanks that needed to be filled and as a guard in case she tried anything. She had been drugged with enough painkillers so that while she could talk clear enough, she wouldn't be able to make any real moves without stumbling over limp limbs. It was meant for the pain but this side effect was an added bonus.
Entering the room at the doctor's request, Thel watched the woman from behind his helmet's visor, his head close to nicking the roof of the small room. He crossed his arms in front of him and waited for the show to start.
When they'd arrived at the military base, they'd gotten Kiala some medical attention and a room to rest up in. She'd been in worse condition that Arwyn had originally thought. She probably wouldn't be moving from her bed without assistance any time soon. After that some military guy had asked to 'debrief' Arwyn. Not having interacted with any military personell at all in any part of her life, Arwyn took it as a come-on and reacted appropriately. Atleast to her it was appropriate. She'd punched the man in the nose and said in Mando'a "No, you may not you creep, and keep your hands to yourself pervert." Two young strapping soldiers had stepped up and restrained her with force, while the man that had first spoken to her recovered from his confusion and his broken nose. Thel had been there the whole time and after recovering from his laughter, told Arwyn what the man had meant.
Arwyn's face had turned as red as her hair then. Then she and the man with the broken nose and the two young guards walked down to the brig. Once there she'd muttered an apology for her attack on the man who was only doing his job. He'd waved her apology away and started asking questions about her and Kiala's relationship. Arwyn probably spent thirty minutes telling the military brass about her encounter with Kiala. Then she'd had to re-tell it just to put the man's mind at ease that she was telling the truth. Personally, she didn't see what the big deal was, people crashing on Dxun was like encountering a Tuskan Raider on Tatooine, old news. Not to mention it probably happened atleast once every 1 or 2 months due to Dxun's proximity to Onderon. Exhausted and a little annoyed Arwyn turned the corner to where Kiala's room was, having been released from the brig and the man's tiring questions only a few minutes ago. Thel was there in the hallway waiting for her, the door to Kiala's room open. Thel gestured for Arwyn to take the lead with a wave of his hand. Arwyn didn't argue, she just nodded and headed into the room.
Arwyn was not a proffessional interrogator, usually if she wanted information she'd beat it out of whoever she was after, or sometimes, on very rare occasions, she might use her looks to her advantage. Those occasions were few and far between though. Arwyn hated dressing like a girl. She'd always felt naked in a dress. The last time she'd worn a dress was to blend into the crowd on Alderaan, and even then she'd worn her armor underneath and brown cloak over it to hide her armor. That was how much she hated dresses.
When Arwyn entered the room she was suprised at how clean and orderly it was. She looked to Kiala, who looked rather like a Maalraass strapped to a bed but, too exhausted or doped up, to struggle. Arwyn decided to start easy, she had some questions but, they were basics only, she didn't really care to hear this woman's life story.
"Hey Kiala, how are you feeling?" Arwyn said as she walked over to the bed's left side and leaned against the wall, crossing her arms after placing her helmet on the window seal.
Kiala turns her head toward Arwyn and Thel...though she didnt know the large humanoids name. He was a massive specimen, that was for sure. She looked from one, to the other her eye's meeting theirs. When she speaks it is once again in her near flawless mando'a. She turns toward Arwyn for this.
"I thank you for helping me...if not for you, I likely would have died. I am in your dept", She adjusted herself slightly...annoyed at the straps holding her in place. These werent because she was a prisoner. Mandalorians tend to deny their injuries and try and get up before they should.
"The girl is mando'ad, my cousin Kalla recieted the “gai bal manda”(name and soul). She is one of us, so ye can stop looken at her like some sort of prisoner...she is a mando'ade"
If this meant anything to Kiala it didnt know. Her eye's remained as blank and without emotion as they had always been. She was mando'a in name, and action, not blood. Kiala let a small smile cross her lips, “Aliit ori'shya tal'din” (Family is more than bloodline's)
She looks at the straps holding her down, "are these necissary??"
"They are for stubborn Mando'ade who dont want to stay in bed and heal up, and Kalla tells me yer a stubbotn one girl..so in the bed ye stay"
Sighing Kiala turns back ti Arwyn the the other Mando'ade, "Well...where's your questions...I'm suprised I havent been interogated yet". Kiala leans back, glowering at the straps holding her down. She didnt like them one bit. She was tempted to cut them, but she would save that for later.
Since entering the room, Thel had moved to rest his back against the wall with the window that allowed viewers to observe into the room. He noted that in addition to the painkillers that would numb her motions, the woman had been strapped to the table as well. He understood this of course and the doctor explained to Kia as well shortly after. All beings would naturally try to get up at some point into their medical stay, more times than not before they were fully healed. As such, the straps would ensure that they wouldn't be able to get up until the doctor deemed it. Thel chuckled to himself in his mind, remembering the time they tried strapping him down after a battle. He had snapped the straps like they were paper; they had since learned to use a stronger kind of strap should he ever get hurt.
Thel's eyes turned to the doctor, who explained that the girl was one of them, a mandolarion, but that her cousin was someone who had rejected the name and soul of their culture. Thel was unsure of what this had to do with the current situation. Despite who she was related to or if she was indeed one of them didn't matter at the moment. She had crashed here and until they could be one hundred percent sure, she would be considered an enemy. Just because she was Mandolorian didn't make her a friend.
Thel grunted from behind his mask at Arywn's first question. He would have gotten right to the matter at hand, but he found that these....humanoid's tended to make their prisoners feel safe and secure before easing into asking them the needed questions. Thel still didn't grasp this compassion for someone who could one day be slitting their throats, but he knew better than to argue without reason. So he stayed quiet, letting the two of them converse for a few moments. At Kia's urging, however, he decided to release his first question. Even with his helmet distorting his growl, Thel's voice was gruff and stern.
"Your flight logs indicate that you were coming in this way from the Dantoonie system. What was your destination and your reasoning for coming?"
Arwyn looked up as the doctor entered and confirmed Kiala as a mando'ade, a sister Mandalorian. For Arwyn that was good enough, Kiala had been acting like any Mando would considering the circumstances. Not to mention that she spoke fluent Mando'a, and it wasn't a language just anyone could pick up. You either had to be verry good friends with one or related to one. Since it was blood that connected her to the culture, Arwyn considered the matter closed. The only thing that would deem Kiala an enemy was if Kiala took up action against Mando'ade, and if that happened there was no where she could run that Arwyn wouldn't be able to find her. Arwyn knew her appearance, the sound of her voice and the look of her armor, which she probably wouldn't leave behind considering she'd gone back into her ship to get it, when she should've been in the hospital or taking a dirt nap. She didn't look it but, she was tough, Arwyn had to give her that. That didn't mean she trusted her though, it just meant that Arwyn would treat her a little nicer.
Arwyn laughed aloud when Kiala asked if the straps were necessary, nearly every Mando asked that when they were in critical enough condition to submit to hospitalization. "Well Thel, I guess she is our sister" Arwyn said to Thel after straightening up from laughing. She looked to Kiala a moment later as she said "Yeah, I'm afraid they are. Doctor's have always been insistant on their number one rule, "bed rest does a body good". They don't want us di'kut's running around injuring ourselves because we have a need to save face. Atleast, that's what they kept telling me when I was younger" she shrugged and looked to Thel as Kiala made a comment about being interrogated.
"Well, all my suspicions were cleared up when the doc here gave us a positive on her being Mando'ade, I don't care what she was doing before the crash. Not my problem. Doc says she's Mando, fine she's Mando. As long as she doesn't do anything to hurt anyone, she's welcome in my book..." Arwyn said, saying the first to Thel and then looking to Kiala as she said the latter "but, if you do anything to hurt my brothers and sisters, I will hunt you down and kill you. Understood?" Arwyn's tone and body language said that she meant every word that she had just said, and promised that she would use all her rescources to hunt her dpwn if anything happened to anyone. Content that Kiala knew the boundaries, Arwyn waited for Kiala to responde in the positive or negative, before nodding to Thel that he had the floor.
Arwyn leaned back against the wall, waiting to hear what Thel had to say. She had to admit to a little curiosity on what Thel wanted to know but, most of her concern was for Kiala and making sure that Thel didn't get too rough on her.
