Eclipsing the Shadows Light

Ok! So, this is a concept I have had in mind for awhile now. A little bit of background, as a sort of passive background is that Acalya has been hunting down Jedi Shadows for the Sith. Now, what a Jedi Shadow is for those who aren't fully aware, they are essentially investigators for the Jedi Order, pretty much the closest thing they have to an inquisition; as they hunt down any sort of force that uses the dark side of the Force to destroy it. This includes the Sith, naturally. Thus making it obvious as to why Acalya would want to hunt them down.

But, for the purposes of this plot, Acalya has managed to locate a strong group of them. Now, Shadows are nothing to scoff at typically. They're generally experienced/veteran Jedi Knights or Masters who know quite well as to how to face an opponent of the dark side. Therefore, Acalya's problem, she can handle one, but two -- ehhhhh, three or more -- realistically -- no; thus her looking to her Sith "allies" for aid. It is an understandable goal to unify under, not only does it potentially lead to the elimination of talented Jedi of the Order, but it also further serves to blind the Jedi Order to Sith goings on within the sector the Shadows are investigating. An obviously quite strategic maneuver with an approaching full scale war with the Jedi and Republic unfolding.

Note: This is not a plot-line where the Sith will simply steam-roll through and dominate, for that'd make for a fairly dull plot on both sides. It's design and goal is to be a struggle for either side, and neither side being clearly dominant. Suspense!

Ok, after a bit of deliberation, here's what the Jedi Shadow team has discovered, which is Muunilist, and what they know is it is a strong Sith holding. But, where those holdings are and what purpose it serves in its entirety remains unknown. But, one thing that is certain is it is deep within Sith territory, and the Jedi Shadow team feeling it is too large a task for just them alone to handle, the Jedi listed above have been assigned to the task to spearhead the investigation to its success. Hopefully.

Naturally, given what Muunilist is, the Sith do not want the Jedi to learn what purpose it serves as for the Empire. Additionally, with some of the Jedi's talents being there, it would be advantageous for the Sith to eliminate accomplishing two-tasks in sweep of the hand. Or so they hope. Acalya learning of the Jedi Shadow team's movements turns to her Sith "allies" to eliminate the threat, and thus the gathered set off to do just that.

Now, here's the trick:

Jedi and Sith are going to be split up into teams, and also it needs to be decided who will be facing whom.

Note: Sith and Jedi Team1 will be in completely different area from Sith and Jedi Team2. A far trek to say the least. This is to prevent overlap of the battles and so things don't get to unorganized and chaotic for everyone's posting sanity.

Welp, it's not the point of this plot!

Personally, I like suspense, and even the risk of my character(s) dying. Outright domination is dull and uninteresting to read and RP, more so when the characters are often at the same strength, there is no drama otherwise, and just wreaks of ego which makes it boring for those following along and involved in RPing. Far more so (and most importantly to me), it wouldn't be fun for the Jedi involved also if all they did was get trashed and steam-rolled.

Also, bear in mind, nobody is being dragged "into the light", the entire goal for the Sith is to keep the Jedi blind to the Sith's machinations within the area. This is about strategic positioning for an oncoming war over the horizon, not about further exposure to the Jedi -- more about concealment.

This confrontation is more like a shadow battle within a Cold War.

But Ki'ang isn't a Shadow. But he's a Watchman, so he's good at... watching stuff...

Alright, well maybe there's two teams of Sith, to further confuse and distract the Jedi. You said 'hunting' and 'the elimination of talented Jedi', I guess I got the wrong idea.

Sure, sparrow, the Jedi could use more on their side.

And, yeah, Karl, that's the Sith's goal as doing so is advantageous to them, but the question being: will they succeed? I don't know.

And two teams isn't a bad idea.

Yay, someone who can make sure we don't get mauled by the walking death that is Shard or Acalya. XD

So, are we gonna wait for more or is five to five good?

Yup, I think we're set to plan stuff out here.

First off, to clarify a couple things. This is going to be occurring after Maelstrom. So, a couple of the Sith involved like Adara and Acalya can be easily recognized should one of the Jedi who weren't involved in that plot see them. Reason for that, well... it was televised galaxy wide to the Republic. But, I also understand that do to another plot involving Jazen, that it may also affect some of his character interactions, reactions, actions, and nuances.

The other thing I really want to stress and reiterate, too, is this isn't a Sith steam-roll over the Jedi. This is a shadow battle between the Sith and the Jedi. In all likelihood, the only ones who will ever know about it is the Sith and the Jedi themselves.

Now, this is not say that crazy Force-shiz won't happen, in fact, I implore it. However, it just means the Sith and the Jedi will have to be smart about it. After all, on the Sith end, a Jedi Shadow is no push-over so the 4 Jedi Shadow NPCs (Knight-level) involved aren't going to be dropped with a thought. These guys are trained specifically to eliminate the dark side, in fact, their entire founding within the Order was to wipe out the Sith reminants after the Great Hyperspace War. So, you can see why any Sith would want to kill these guys. And on the Jedi end, those who are going after them are clearly no push-overs themselves.

I like the idea of the Sith splitting up into teams. But, I would also like to hear some ideas on the Jedi end for what they would like to be doing. Because, really, it just wouldn't be cool nor suspenseful if they were sitting ducks and the Sith roll in on them with their d***s in their hands standing around in a hangar. That'd just be lame. ;D

Is there room for another Sith? Varan Raeth has already killed one Jedi and spent nearly a decade avoiding others, so he wouldn't be unsuited for a job like this. He's in the final stages of review and should be ready to go soon.
