Yeah, from scratch. Used some cylinders, couple pipe polygons, and other various tools. The blade is actually a really long thin cylinder that I added the glowy effect to.

It still needs a shroud. I was thinking maybe a Ulic qel droma style shroud with the 6 tri-angular cleets.

Maya, its a program some gaming companies use to make the 3d objects in game.

I bought the education version which requires a student ID and a school bookstore willing to purchase. It cost...$250 US, I think.

That was the educational discount. Its um...600+ I think without it.

Its not even the high end version either. I'd love to get my claws on the stuff that the pros use and see what I could do with it.

BTW, some more eye candy, A Padawan Saber I made, and a 2 Handed Saber I made, thats 2 handed, not double bladed (Emphasis of 2 handed would more or less be control of the blade).

Pirating is a harsh word. I prefer liberating and denying of resources.

Preferably I just say pirating is only good for movies...and boy bands. [Take that MPAA], due to a distinct dislike of Hollywood and Co.

But when a publisher tries to charge me 300 dollars for a program I may use all of...ten times for actual use, I tend to torrent it.

When I bought photoshop....seven...I think, I used it all of twice and ended up using Paint more often to edit family photos.

I have CS3 now hidden somewhere on one of my harddrives but bleh.

It's really a matter of personal preference.

Ok I gotcha, well as you can see I'm actually very active in my use and intend on useing it often... Perhaps there is a trial version you can download free somewhere Fell, that way you don't break any laws and you can decide weather or not its worth your time.

As for Torrent, I don't really care about people downloading progs like this useing Torrent, but I do feel that the programmers put in the hours for the codeing, I feel they deserve the pay... Then again if SONY were involved I'd prolly say all bets are off and rob them blind... I hate those buggers... Souless multi million dollar corporation.... Oh sorry, we were talking about something.

Oh yeah Lightsabers. Any ideas for what I should try next?

I don't have any Double Bladers up yet I see. If no one has any ideas I'll make one of those next.

What was that bald woman's name....The one that Anakin killed, she had two sabers that connected together that made a funky saberstaff.

I don't remember her name, but you could make an attempt at her lightsabers. Basically a pair of Count Dooku's lightsabers that locked together if I recall.

And I feel the same way about Hollywood, except they're corrupting the children, plus all the souless stuff >.>

Microsoft too. But if it's an individual [music I never download unless I hate the artist...inwhich why should I download it anyway?] or a company I like [THQ or EA Games for instance] I don't download it.

Curved hilts are a pain in the butt, but I have yet to make a good one. So I think that sounds like a plan. I'll do a straight double bladed hilt first, followed by a single curved hilt. Then I'll see if I can mate the two and get a pedigree.

Oh definately. Musicians though are different than programmers. I mean dang it man, if you came home from work and discovered some asshat had ripped off your hard work, you'd be pissed! Followed by the next day when your boss says there will be pay cuts due to the fact that lots of people were going to rip your company off in the same manner? Thing is Autodesk (the company that makes Maya) is not a Multi Billion dollar organization... I may be wrong on this but they are kinda of like, middle area. Not a small time corp, and not a manopoly. So meh, I like to help them out and keep them working. I would love it if they could carry on with their work and come out with more innovations, and maybe work out some of the bugs with their program.

Don't worry about being "picky" though bro, I kinda see what your doing as keeping balance as opposed to robbery.
