Klon sighed at Lyria's explanations and excuses. Her excuses did not even fit in with the idea of what it is to be a jedi. Her goals are clearly focused on obtaining fame though warfare involving the Jedi. She more than Klon or Jarael was prepared to embrace the idea of joining the war effort, no she was not prepared to embrace it, but eager. That was clearly a sign of the darkside and its growing corruption, he feared for her more so than he feared for Jarael's stability.
He walked over to the young girl and put a hand on her shoulder to say "Please young one, don't cloud your mind with thoughts of war. You shouldn't be so eager for conflict. In fact, at your age its unlikely you will ever see the front lines in this war, and even less likely you will be considered for a leadership role. You are a Investigator in training Lyria... So your leadership skills will find little use anyway, for you are expected to have the skills to work alone, without the assistance of other Jedi."
He swiftly released her to turn to Jarael and say "You ignored basics young one... Let me explain what you did wrong... Your practicing Jar-Kai, Duel Saber tactics. Number one, your defensive would have fallen swiftly... You can't put all your wieght behind a block with two sabers, thus your defensive should revolve around constant movement and evasion. Number two, you forgot how I said Shoto and standard works together."
"You use the Shoto for distractions, get in close and make a few sudden attacks and then finish with the standard, its smaller and faster then the standard, take advantage of that. And three... take your time when fighting a stronger opponent, the best way to win that battle is to let them burn some energy and then strike them down!"
Klon says this somewhat aggressively before turning back to Lyria. "I have made up my mind you will not be learning Niman, you style of fighting, the simplicity may be to difficult to handle..." He said jokingly before getting back to the point." I am going to teach you to use a lightsaber pike, a old friend will be assisting me with your training later." He says going to the other side of the room and grabing a rather old looking lightsaber pike that was one used for training "Its old but it still works... What do you think? Any questions? Anybody?"

Lyria stood silent as their Master addressed them, she wasn't scolded as she thought she might have been, though the disappointment in the Kiffar's words and on his face struck home with the young girl, she needed to show more discipline.
As Master Driviz gave Jarael feedback on their session, Lyria thought some more on what he had said about her being eager for war, she was worried that she gave off that impression, and what further concerns her Master might have for her, she would have to reassure him.
The Master was speaking to Lyria again, she was surprised to hear she would be taught the use of a lightsabre pike, as opposed to normal lightsabre teachings. She was uncertain about the weapon as she viewed their Master holding it, just the staff section stood almost as tall as her, she assumed once the blade was activated it would be longer than her height, still, the young girl was interested to learn something different to the mainstream and was certain she could make the weapon an advantage.
"Yes Master, a question, but before I do, I would like a chance to allay the concerns I feel you have for my curiosity on the war,” She met the man eye to eye, hoping to better clarify her reasoning, “I am not eager for war, but eager to understand its intricacies so I might better recognize what it is we face and must do, even as a Padawan. I wish to better understand how it is the Blades are assessing the war and the many battles to be faced, the impacts it will have on the multitude of worlds and the Jedi Order. I stood in that hall with so many great minds to hear their concerns, ideas and assessments, I have my own opinions as anyone might, but am apprehensive about voicing such until I have better knowledge around them.”
She took a deep breath and lowered her gaze for a moment before looking back to the Kiffar Master, “I know there is little chance of being involved in the war, and frankly I am glad, I have a long way to go before my training is completed and then of course you are correct and my role will be as a Sentinel with little contact or use for the front line. But, given that war is a terrible and all-encompassing creature, it might still find its way to our lives, even as Padawans and Master. It is because of this I wish to better comprehend, why we are here, at this temple with the Blades, discussing war to the disapproval of the Jedi Council.” The young girl bowed her head to their Master, “I hope I have eased any concerns you may have Master.”
Then she suddenly lifted her head with a broad smile and a small bounce on her toes, “But oh yes, a question; the pike, are the base lightsabre components the same as that of a standard lightsabre? I am well practiced with disassembling my standard sabre, and wonder if its parts would be transferable to another weapon.”

Klon had only sighed at Lyria's response, she felt the need to reassure him, to ease his nerves in terms of the conflict. A conflict like war could break a Jedi at any time, even at this very second, so the Kiffar felt a sense of nervousness for his students, himself, and the jedi order as a whole. It could be helped so Klon would simply respond with "I understand Lyria... Let us move on..."
Klon lessened to the girls questions with bated breath. He would confidently nod and end with a response "No... it is very unlikely... given that lightsaber pikes are made with rare lightsaber resistant metal. So your weapon will be totally different from a standard, and harder to build..."
He then walked about and spoke once more "Give it a few swings Lyria, get a feel for the weight and long handle. The key is to use it like a spear, use your body as a fulcrum if you can, and strike swiftly whenever possible... Quick jabs may also be useful. Move about if you can, after you have something of a understanding of the weapon I will happily explain why YOU will be using it."

(OOC: If it's alright, I'll just skip posting for a while so Lyria can get a one-on-one lesson like Jarael did.)

Bowing to her master, Lyria took the long weapon and proceeded to the clear center of the room, hefting it in her right hand to get a feel for its weight, much heavier in comparison to the light hilt of a lightsabre, she slowly started moved the long length of metal in a pattern; a pass before her, then a pass behind her, repeating the process several times before on a movement in front of her she passed the weapon to the other hand and made the same pattern of movement to her left.
With the weapon in two hands she leveled it horizontal at waist height, her right hand to the fore, she stepped forward, activated the weapon and struck out before her in three quick successive jabs, sliding the weapon back through her grip and bringing her feet back together, and bringing the blade to pass before her and stepped out to her left and repeated the pattern with her left hand to the fore. Lyria deactivated it and brought the weapon quickly back to her front and center, she took the haft in two hands and slowly began to spin it clockwise in direction, gradually building up speed until the weapon was almost blur, then using the momentum built as the point of the weapon passed the apex of the spin, the girl slid the haft through her hands until their were almost at the base of the shaft, she brought the weapon down to her right and stepping out with her right foot to follow the arch, activating the bright sabre as it came down, halting its progression as the blade tip touched the floor causing a bright spark. Immediately Lyria swept the weapon in a wide arch before her around to her left side, shifting her stance to bring her feet back together, where she lifted the weapon at a sharp angle to come vertically parallel with her body, sliding the haft down her grip, deactivating the sabre as the shaft slid through her hands and she pressed the base of the weapon to the ground with a heavy thud.
A wide smile on her face as she turned to her Master, “It is a heavy weapon, but allows for much momentum and a magnificent range,” She bowed quickly, “I am honored you have deigned I am worthy of such an alternative weapon and style, I am eager to learn proper forms and to perhaps test the capabilities against a lightsabre.”
Stepping back towards her Master and fellow Padawan, she asked, “You said there was a specific reason you had chosen this weapon for me Master, I would like to know, if I might?”

Klon watched Lyria Closely, as she demonstrated the same type of blade work that she showed off in her battle with Jarael... Although flashy and energetic it would not prove proper for real combat... Her style of combat involved to much showing off and wild movements. It would have potency if she showed better timing and adaptability.
So Klon accepted this simply because if he can sharpen her skills and make her a bit more humble and relaxed she could become a very skilled investigator or even a shadow one day. “It is a heavy weapon, but allows for much momentum and a magnificent range,” Said Padawan Lyria, prompting Klon to sarcastically say "Oh really? I had no idea!" Followed by laughter the Kiffar Jedi spoke once more. " That was the point young one, to give you greater reach in combat."
“You said there was a specific reason you had chosen this weapon for me Master, I would like to know, if I might?”
Klon Simply smiled and said I am glad you asked Padawan Adrienne. The reason for this you should already know young Padawan... Not saying this to put you down young one, but you fight recklessly and without thought. You show off a bit to much, it looks as if your trying to entertain. Plus all off the flipping and hopping around is not helping anything simply because its random.
He stepped closer and tapped the girl on the shoulder and followed up by saying " Your skills must be honed and sharped Lyria... So the reason I am having you use a saber pike because the length will force you to think out your attacks more carefully and it will allow you to keep your distance in combat. Your acrobatics would be effective if it was not so random, Your primary problem is your timing is fairly bad. So think things out more and work on your agility and footwork, because that will be the key to your success.
Then from his sleeve Klon pulled a smaller lightsaber and handed it to Lyria and said For that same reason you will no longer use a standard lightsaber... This generic Shoto will be your secondary weapon. Its length is about that of a dagger, meant to be held in one hand but the hilt has the space to use your second hand as a support. The reason I am giving you a shoto is because it is lighter and will allow for faster attacks then the standard saber, and with your agility getting in close is not a problem.
" The problem is your strength and overall defense. So I suggest learning how to dodge and you could make excellent use of a shoto. So though these new weapons you should be effective at any rage... Do you accept these changes young one?" He asked hoping she would see his side, and hopefully understand why he was re-equipping her in such a drastic way...

She listened carefully to her masters reasoning, she knew herself to be to passionate when she fought, lacking in focus and direction, the girl appreciated the choice by her Master to put her on this path, it would be a more appropriate weapon if she could reign and hone her combat abilities. She nodded to the Kiffar Master, “I understand and shall undertake to maintain my focus in combat and better use the weapon as an extension of my body,” She looked away for a moment, towards her fellow Padawan, “which I know now, I may be taking movements overboard and look to be showing off, I feel returning to some unarmed combat practice might assist with my movements and flow. If you would permit some time for Jarael and myself to undertake this?”
Lyria again listened and accepted the shoto from her Master, giving it a quick look over before attaching it to her belt next to her standard sabre, which she would store with her other belongings for the time being. She admitted a small concern for the opposite of having range with the pike would mean no defence or attack in close quarters.
She bowed deeply to her Master, “I accept with honour and shall apply myself to the techniques for these weapons.”

The Kiffar sighed a bit as he felt a sense of doubt within young Lyria. It was without a doubt related to the weapons he his given her. The man had no problem with her having free will but their was a plan in mind with this Padawans training. Klon simply rubbed his chin as she asked about hand to hand training. It was a must have, clearly, although it could wait at least a while longer. Mostly do to her next bit of training being focused on Pike work, and Shoto training.
The Kiffar master sternly says "You will get to hand to hand training sooner or later, but now is not the time, your other training comes first young one... And so you know I did practice a bit with that weapon before you showed up so I took the time to find Pike training videos for you." Klon walked over to the incline at the edge of the room. He wanted her to go though a solo practice as of right now.
He placed a halo-player on the mat and said " Now, watch that for a hour, I want you to copy the movements and attacks, it should teach you the basic movements and stances one could use when applying a Lightsaber Pike. Oh, and when using a Pike you will have many options, if they get to close you have three defensive options. One, us the force to make space, by moving away with force enhanced speed or pushing the target. two, use hand to hand combat, if you have a opening kick your enemy. Then three, take advantage of the flowing water technique I will soon be instructing you in, not my personal style but you could see value in it..." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He simply backed away and waited for the hologram to appear and complete the hour long instruction, watching his student carefully as her training begins. He waited out the hologram and the moment it stopped he would begin the next set of lessons. He wanted to see what she could do at the moment, so more demonstration was in order. The Kiffar walked about and says "I want you to show me what you can do with that little stick now young lady, come at me with the pike. Oh and to make it a little more far I will fight you unarmed."
He took a martial arts stance as he waited for his student to ready herself. Her ability to overwhelm him in this instance would rely on her creativity, and overall skills. Although a new weapon wouldn't make this easy, she would simply have to adjust swiftly, as their was still two more instances in her training to go over before the Padawan's joined training.
