Faction Name: Shard's Dominion
Faction Purpose: To aid the new Sith Order in its endeavors upon the galaxy, the Jedi and the Republic; more specifically, to serve as a rallying point and proving grounds for potential Sith recruits. Also, as one may infer from the name, the Dominion exists to further the goals and schemes of its founder, the insane Miraluka Charlill Sylvorr, commonly known as Shard.
Faction Planet: Farrfin
Financial Wealth: Very High; with the plundered wealth brought in by a great many pirate vessels, as well as taxes and tariffs levied on one of the premier hubs of criminal intelligence and illicit trade in the galaxy, the Dominion is quite secure in its financial footing.
Military Assets: Specialized; the main body of the Dominion's military consists of individual ship's crews and their ships. Pirates and raiders, basically, along with retired soldiers, mercenary outfits, the occasional defecting officer (complete with ship and crew), and other such underworld riffraff. Loyal and vicious, they are still better deployed in hit-and-run battles, boarding actions, covert raids... anything that isn't outright siege warfare, really.
The great majority of these crews tend to be out doing their thing, raiding and pillaging in the name of the Dominion. Naturally, Shard maintains a standing in-system defense fleet at all times, on patrol in case of attack. This defensive force consists of two thousand five hundred starfighters, twenty corvettes, ten escort carriers, five defense cruisers, and twenty-five heavy gunboats, with officers, pilots and crew to accompany each vessel. Many of the larger ships, particularly the cruisers and gunboats, have been modified to sacrifice hyperspace capability and cargo room in exchange for stronger power generators, greater firepower, and better shielding overall.
Individual weaponry, armor, and other equipment is all of the highest quality money and loyalty can secure, acquired through the various deals and pacts Shard has made with invested parties in the Dominion. Weapons and shielding on the various ships are for the most part black-market issue, though a great deal of high-grade military stuff is present, especially in the defense fleet.
Form of Government: Dictatorship; Shard holds ultimate and absolute power, though he delegates to local authorities for day-to-day planetary management, and he lets his officers voice their ideas and opinions regarding the operation of his flagship, the Midnight Sun.

Charlill Sylvorr, notorious for the power at his fingertips and the insanity lurking beneath his sarcastic facade, found his way to Korriban and joined the fledgling Sith Order early on. He helped construct the new Temple, but quickly grew bored with the largely mundane training exercises and instruction that went on there. And, for one such as him, boredom was very, very dangerous indeed.
Fortunate, then, that he came up with a plan to cement his position within the Empire and stave off ennui at the same time. On the surface it was a simple plan; go forth into the galaxy independantly, gathering followers to his banner and that of the Sith, and begin conquering independant or criminally-controlled planets, claiming their resources and militaries in the name of the Empire. It was an audacious plan, and any other might have been shot down (perhaps literally!). The Miraluka, though, was as much a hazard to have around as an asset, and it was deemed better to have him be occupied elsewhere and still aiding the Order, than sticking around being an unpredictable influence.
The Miraluka's first goal was Farrfin, on which he had already been waging a shadow war of subterfuge and propaganda for some months prior. With official sanction and backing, as well as skilled Sith warriors to command, he felt ready to begin the assault in earnest. One vicious, yet oddly short, siege and a number of smaller duels and skirmishes later, the planet and all its resources now fought beneath the banner of Shard's Dominion.
