Sinya stood passively before the door, waiting for it to slide open and reveal the minimalistic quarters within, but it never did. Instead of the same thing that always happened, something completely unexpected occurred.
Nika pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard in the neck, killing him.
There was blood everywhere, and Sinya stood stock still, frozen with fear.
One moment everything had been normal, and the next the guard was dead and Nika had a blaster. Despite her slowness, Sinya wasn't a complete idiot, and she knew this meant Nika was trying to escape.
Escape was dangerous though. In fact, it was impossible. No slave had ever escaped Loro's Palace. Nika probably had better odds of navigating an asteroid field or winning a lottery. It was suicide, and as soon as Loro discovered Nika had killed a guard, he'd have her raped, tortured, and killed. Probably in front of all the other slaves.
The Lethan Twi'lek's blue eyes were as big as saucers, and she stood dumbly before leaning heavily against the wall. It took her a second to find any words, but they did come.
"Run, don't let them catch you or they'll hurt you."
Sinya's gaze turned onto the dead body and she shuddered a little. By the end of the night would there be one more?

Thump thump...
Thump thump...
That was Nika's heart beating for the next few moments after she had struck the lethal blow. She felt it, and heard it so loud, that the entire palace, no, the planet was hearing the blood pump in her sinuses. She killed a person. Sure, the twi'lek shot people before, but ... this was different. It was so bloody and brutal... All that blood on herself and the floor...
Focus.
She said to herself, and shook her head, just as Sinya told her to run and not get caught. Run? Like this? Drenched in blood and with a blaster in hand? No! It was not the best plan. Grabbing the keys out of dead man's hand, Nika, returning her self-control back a bit, opened the door, and dragged the man in.
- Get inside.
Her voice came out almost as a low growl, the twi'lek too startled to talk normally, adrenaline still pumping through her veins. She would grab a rug that probably served Sinya as a blanket, and hastily wipe the floor of most of the blood, constantly listening for anyone coming. But there was no one. A sloppy job, but still... She closed the door behind them. It was safe, for now...
Nika then, proceeded to strip down the corpse. The man wore greenish military pants, brown jacket and a black shirt underneath. Blood was barely visible on both. On his belt, aside from blaster holster, there was a short vibro-blade. Perfect...
In one motion, the green twi'lek tore the slave dancer outfit from her body, instead putting on the clothes of the guard she murdered. They did not fit, but at least, in them she won't attract that much of attention, if compared to running about in that skimpy and derogatory clothing slaves were forced to wear. And in the middle of that, she tossed Sinya a glare. The girl was frightened, she could tell this much. And Nika breathed out, trying to sound, and seem as calm as possible.
- Calm down, Sinya... Calm down... everything is gonna be okay. I will get us out of here...

Nika ordered Sinya inside, and the red-pink Twi'lek complied instantly and without question, walking in through the doorway and standing against the wall of her sparse quarters, watching Nika tear the clothes off of her body and put on the dead guards uniform.
The Twi'lek slave's instant compliance wasn't really because the woman had just stabbed a guard to death, though that was a valid reason. It was simply a fact that if anyone told Sinya to do anything, she did it as soon as she was asked, assuming she was lucid enough to tell she was being spoken to.
Surprisingly, Sinya wasn't not calm, as Nika implied. She was a little shocked still, but her silence wasn't one of full panic, but really just a quiet fear. Right up until Nika said one word.
Us.
Us meant the two of them together, and that meant Nika planned on taking Sinya with her, and Sinya could clearly remember what had happened the last time someone had tried to escape with her.
It had ended with her watching him be tortured to death, and then with electrocution until she'd passed out.
If Nika tried to take her this time too, and they were captured... Sinya knew it would be worse this time. With Loro, it was almost always worse with each passing punishment, and if he thought she was past her usefulness, he'd kill her, but not before hurting Nika terribly.
Sinya started shaking her head from side to side, repeating the word 'no' again and again before she finally elaborated in Ryl.
"No, they'll catch us and they'll hurt us. It's too dangerous."

Well, this was not something Nika expecting, really...
She thought, that, after so much time of pain, torture and anguish, Sinya would literally jump at the chance of getting out of here, even if it was dangerous. Guess she overestimated the girl's resolve. Three years of imprisonment did their work - she was an obedient doormat. Nika looked at the red twi'lek with a mix of pity and disappointment. She was afraid. Her thin little figure trembling slightly, like a lonely grassblade in the wind. And looking at her, Nika realized one thing.
I can't leave her here...
No, not a chance. She would not abandon a person she knew she could save, in order to save herself. Conscience would plague her to the end of days then. And besides... Nika looked around the room. This... pathetic cubicle to spend the night in, only to return to being groped, abused and molested during daytime... She cringed, familiar fires burning in her eyes again.
- The guards are all drunk or asleep. I will gun down anyone who gets in our way. - she said firmly, taking a step closer to Sinya, towering over her, and taking that thin hand into hers. She would try convincing, for all the good it would do.
- I know it is dangerous, but... look around you. I don't know how you managed to endure this for three years, but I know that if I will be forced to spend another hour here, in this disgusting place, I would shoot a blaster bolt through my skull. Is it really worth leading such a miserable existence?! - Nika said louder, and swinging the blaster in her hand, in grasp of emotion, and pure, righteous fury she felt right now.
- This is the only chance you'll have. You know this building better than I do. Together we can make it to the exit, and get out of here! Or would you rather prefer staying, where each day you will spend on cold floor by night, and groped and raped by that Hutt every once in a while?!

A blaster bolt through the skull.
Sinya had to admit on some level that sounded appealing. Death was the only escape she'd have from this hellish existence after all. But if they were caught, Nika would wish they'd just shot each other now and gotten it over with.
Her words were stirring all right, and the Lethan Twi'lek fidgeted uncomfortably during them. That is, right up until the word 'rape' was used, when she froze up. Her eyes widened and she twitched once before standing stock still, nearly catatonic.
Just hearing the word sent a river of anxiety and depression to flood her mind. The deluge washed away her reasoning and her thought, and she simply stood there mute, unable to think of anything but the same memory she'd been unable to forget for three years.
Why had it happened to her? Why had Sinya'anu been chosen for this existence? She'd been innocent, sweet, and happy before Loro had gotten his hands on her, and now she was a broken shell without hope, lacking form and substance, doing nothing unless she was told to.
Finally after long seconds of silence Sinya let out a soft whimper and closed her eyes.
She said nothing and made no movements.
The red Twi'lek had no hope for the future and no plan for escape. At the moment her mind was completely blank apart from the memory of her ordeal flashing through her mind's eye, and she wondered if she'd ever be able to forget it.

Oh crap... Now I've really done it...
Nika regretted uttering the word 'rape' almost the second later. She was speaking harshly, and hoped that memory of the horrible torment would convince Sinya going with her! And in the end, the effect was completely opposite. Instead of gaining resolve to escape, the red twi'lek became a whimpering mess without a backbone. Sighing, Nika approached closer, and scooped the smaller girl in an embrace.
Poodoo, we're wasting time... If they discover the guard missing before we're out of here, we're done for...
- Shhh... Sinya... shhh... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to remind you... Gosh, I'm so sorry... Please calm down. We cannot be mopey now... - she whispered into her earcone, and petted her back gently, trying to soothe the painful memories she could read through the tormented lethan's eyes. She reached and stroked one of Sinya's lekku carefully, hoping it would work.
- Just trust me... I am an experienced mercenary, I know how to handle weapons. We will escape, and if things would look bad, I... - Nika thought on it and swallowed, reluctant to say what she was about to... - I will shoot you first. They will not torture you any longer... Please...
She felt riddiculous, offering words of comfort the way she had seen in all the cheesy Holovids, but it as the only thing she could think of at that point. Carefully releasing the girl, she grabbed one of the blankets, and wrapped it around her head, like a turban, and passing the other one to Sinya, wrapping it around her shoulders, as if it were a cloak. Holding the blaster in one hand, and the vibroblade in the other, she approached the door, and looked at Sinya again.
- C'mon...

Sinya's catatonic state gradually dissipated as Nika touched her kindly, apologized, and lovingly stroked her headtails. The Lethan Twi'lek could safely say that not once in her time as a slave had that happened, and her eyes grew a little damp at that.
Love.
There was still such a thing as love, even in the squalor of Loro's slave quarters when all hope seemed lost. Somehow she'd lost sight of that in three years, but a flicker of hope was finally restored in her heart. Admittedly it was weak and fledgling, and fear threatened to consume it, but it was steadily growing like a fire.
The required fuel was added by Nika's promise.
If everything failed, Sinya would have a quick death and it would be over.
Somehow that didn't seem so bad to her now. Even death was starting to seem preferable, and maybe Nika was right. Maybe she could escape where others had failed, and then they could get out into the fresh air and the sunlight.
Sinya hadn't felt the wind or the sun for three years, and it felt a lot longer than that. Maybe she could see it again, even if she died.
The Lethan Twi'lek walked out the door and started leading in the way she was pretty certain led to to side exits out into the lower city, where there were fewer guards and they were less likely to be noticed.
Belatedly she realized she'd never said out loud that she agreed to the escape attempt. But perhaps they were beyond words now.

Nika sighed out in relief, when the horrible blankness in Sinya's blue eyes disappeared, and they regained focus, and something ... determined finally appeared in them. Some resolve, some will to fight. That was all the green twi'lek would ask for - asking for more from an abused girl who was a slave would be unjust.
And yes, WAS a slave.
Because the moment a person stands up to fight for themselves, they stop being obedient cattle, and start being people. And, in Nika's opinion, it was better to die as a free person, than to live in slavish misery... But that attitude was about to be tested...
Because, just as they went outside the door, they were greeted by... someone.
- Well well well, look what I found...
Several meters away from them, in all of his frightening glory, stood the trandoshan guard. Towering over both, laughing in his hissing fashion. And still holding that bottle in hands. He was asleep all this time. But smell of blood managed to wake him up, wake up the 'animal' inside of him. Which was also fueled by alcohol. Nika froze for a second, as the hulking humanoid made his way towards them.
- Our lovely dancersssss trying to essssscape. How preciousssss... Loro would not be pleasssed to find out about that... Hisssss punisssshments will be mosssst lavissssh... And after I bring you ssssslaves to your place... I will enjoy having my way with both of you...
- Shut up.
*POW!*
The twi'lek fired a shot, catching the lizard in between the iron sites within a second. But the trandoshan was not an amateur either. Even if drunk, just when she rose her hand to shoot, he darted towards her, and the shot hit him in the shoulder. It hurt, but it did not kill him. With a growl, he slashed with his clawed hand, sending Nika flying against the wall, hitting it, and three bloody clawmarks against her chest. She grunted in pain, concussed from the impact, and raised her hand to shoot again.
*POW!*
This time the blaster bolt hit the monster in the knee. But being the sturdy species that he was, the trandoshan pushed with his healthy leg, limping towards the wounded twi'lek, and with firm grasp immobilized both her arms, and pressed her against the wall. Nika struggled, and kicked a few times with her foot, but in vane. She was not strong enough! The lizard cackled, glaring straight into her eyes with his yellow orbs, and hissed:
- You have ran out of optionsssss, b*tch!
- F*ck off, lizard-breath! - the green twi'lek groaned in pain, and spat, again, right at the trandoshan's face! It seemed to become a trend. And using his momentary confusion, Nika dropped her blaster to the floor, and kicked it over to Sinya!
- Shoot him!
And hopefully the red twi'lek knew how to hit a person with that thing, at point-blank range. Otherwise... I'm done for.

Sinya had barely gone ten feet when the Trandoshan guard who'd beaten her the other day showed up, and he foiled their escape plan. She froze up completely and watched in shock and dismay as he resisted Nika's blaster shots and then immobilized the woman.
And just like that their attempt was over.
The red Twi'lek was on the verge of tears, because now Nika had both failed to rescue them and she'd failed in her promise to kill Sinya. They would both be hurt in the worst possible ways now, and there was no escape.
Sinya covered her eyes and tried to control her breathing, just in time to hear 'shot him' yelled at her in Ryl, and she stared down at the ground to see a blaster. She looked at it for a second, both frightened at the prospect of touching a weapon for the first time and frightened of what would happen if she didn't use it.
Torn between fears, it wasn't apparent which one she chose as she picked up the blaster slowly and stared at it again. But in the end, her fear of not shooting was more horrifying than the fear of firing a blaster.
She pointed it at his head and squeezed the trigger, and he fell on top of Nika with a thud, a gaping and burned hole in his head. He was not going to hurt any more slaves ever again.
Sinya was frightened again however, and she dropped the blaster to the ground like it was red hot and she covered her eyes again, the melody of a song coming into her mind to clear the image of a dead person missing half his head.

*BANG!*
And in one fell shot, the contains of the trandoshan's head were all across Nika's face, the heavy body suddenly feeling limp, and falling on top of her. This was... so unexpected, that for a while the green twi'lek just stood there, shocked, until finally pushing the dead guard away from her, it falling on the floor with a thud. There was no blood - blasters cauterized the wound, and for once, Nika was glad they did. And gave out a relieved sigh. Before shuddering, and rubbing her face with the end of her sleeve.
- Phew... that... that was close... - she managed to squeeze out of herself, for a few moments just staring at the body, as if to make sure he was dead. Before looking at Sinya again. Poor girl, she was completely frightened for what she had done, but... it also made Nika very proud. There was still some fight left to them!
- Heh... for a second I thought you were not going to shoot. Congrats on your first confirmed kill! With luck, we will send more of em to their graves... - she tried to sound cheerful, and even patted the red twi'lek on the shoulder, reassuringly, before, suddenly, cringing. And pressing her hand to the painful burning across her chest, feeling something warm flow between her fingers. Blood... this bastard's claws were sharp... Ouch that hurts...
- Err... you take this one. I'm sure Lizard-breath has another one somewhere on his body... - Nika said, kneeling and picking up the blaster, putting it back into Sinya's hands. - You did good, girl.
The lizardman did have a gun of his own, just put in a holster. It as bigger than your average blaster pistol, heavier too. Nika doubted she could fire it from one hand - the recoil might knock it out after a single shot. It prolly packs a stronger punch as well... - she thought, keeping quiet for a second, and listening to sounds, if there were any steps coming their way. The fighting went in an empty hallway, so it prolly wasn't heard, but still, did not hurt to be cautious.
- Do they have any swoops around here? We won't get away far on foot, before someone discovers what we did here... Lead the way!

Sinya opened her eyes again as Nika put the blaster pistol into her hand again, and she stared at it feebly, not wanting to touch it. It felt so awkward and cold in her hand, yet she felt like it was going to burn her at any moment. Or go off and hurt someone. She was afraid of it.
The red Twi'lek stared at it nervously before Nika talked to her again and recaptured her attention.
"There's a garage," Sinya confirmed, touching her lips with a finger as she tried to remember which way it was. It hadn't been like they'd given her a tour, and she hadn't even thought about it in years.
Was it down near the ground floor? It had access to the lower city... So it had to be...
"I think I might know where it is," Sinya said softly, her voice barely audible as she tentatively and hesitantly started to walk in a direction she'd chosen.
The Lethan Twi'lek got lost twice, travelling in a circle before she found her sense of direction again, and moved through numerous empty corridors with Nika in tow. It took time, but Sinya finally led her to the garage, a wide open bay of various vehicles being tended to by a few mechanics, with a massive closed door at the far end.
On the wall was a clock reading 0400, and all was still.
The red Twi'lek looked at Nika with concern, unsure of what to do now.

Finally, they have reached the Garage!
It was about time too, as Nika was growing more and more worried after each passing moment. As soon as the lizard-freak's body would be found by someone, the palace guards would be running about looking for them! And then their chances of escape would dwindle considerably. But hey, at least we have two blasters... We won't go down without a fight... - the green twi'lek was reassuring herself, petting the large blaster she had in hands.
The green twi'lek hoped that the hangar would be empty. And it was most disappointing to see that there were actually still people here, working on machinery, and looking... sober, judging by first appearances. They were too busy to notice Nika and Sinya slip in, which the green Twi'lek used immediately, grabbing Sinya's wrist, and dragging her towards the barrel line in the back, hiding behind them. Seriously, who the hell works on swoops at 4 am?!
The Garage doors were closed too... Not that much of a surprise, but the main obstacle right here. It was not hard to unlock them - there was a switch in the wall right next to it, but... with all the people around, they might get into a firefight, and that would mean time... And alarm, and possibly chase too... Nika could not afford that much risk. Not much of a plot-planner herself, even she understood that she needed a clever plan right about now.
Easy there... think Nika, think! - she thought to herself, crouching behind the barrels, and carefully petting Sinya's back, to have her worry less. While her eyes were darting left and right, trying to formulate something cunning. Jeez, Nika did not think this much in her entire life! Uh... shooting all of them won't be possible, too many... Coming out and telling them to go sleep? Pffft, they're not drunk, or stupid for that matter... Her eyes scanned through the surroundings again. Fuel barrels, fuel barrels, instruments, swoops, the fire extinguisher... Wait! That's it!
- Ok, Sinya, listen up, here's the plan... - Nika whispered into the red twi'lek's ear; - I am gonna shoot at the barrels across the room, and they would explode and start a big fire. As soon as that happens, I will run for the gates, and open the door. You will run to the nearest swoop and push the big red button in the middle of the control panel. It activates the ride. Sounds simple enough? Ok... ready... go!
*POW!*
The shot was heard in the room, and the very next moment, one of the large barrels, with fuel for the swoops, exploded, showering the room with flaming gasoline. The fire immediately caught on, with the flammable vapors around the place, litting on fire more barrels, which were threatening to blow up as well! With things happening so soon, the shot, even if heard, was, no doubt, long forgotten. And Nika charged forward, out from her cover, towards the lever, pulling it down with much force. The mechanism was activated, and the gate began slowly opening...

Nika rattled off a plan, and Sinya stared dumbly, barely understanding. She was going to shoot a barrel? And that would start a fire? All she understood was that she was supposed to go to a swoop and press a red button, but she didn't understand exactly how she was supposed to figure out which swoop. There were so many to choose from.
Further questioning was cut short by a tremendous explosion, and Sinya cowered in terror over the echoing boom and the sound of fire. It filled her ear cones and made her feel like terrible things were happening. She was so frightened that Nika was halfway to the far end of the garage and the door release by the time Sinya picked a speeder bike and walked towards it hesitantly.
Peering down at it, Sinya felt dismay take hold of her.
There was no red button.
There were green buttons and levers and switches, all labeled in the Aurebesh she couldn't read. The girl frowned and felt anxiety washing over her, feeling the terrible sensation that because of her the bike wouldn't start and they'd be captured again.
Meanwhile, the mechanics on duty, four in total, were in full crisis mod. Two had grabbed fire extinguishers and started to tackle the blaze, a third had headed to the garage head's office to call in the fire, and a fourth was right there looking at Sinya standing over the bike.
"Hey you!" He shouted. "Slave!"
The Lethan Twi'lek turned and froze, seeing a slugthrower in his hand. It was small, but she was terrified of it. After all, even small things could hurt.
"What are you doing here?" He demanded in Basic.
"No hurt!" Sinya pleaded in her broken Basic, her thick Twi'lek accent making the words hard to understand.
At that precise moment, another barrel of fuel exploded, and the abrupt sound caused the panicked mechanic's finger to find the trigger, and a heavy slug came shooting out the barrel, impacting on the Twi'lek slave's shoulder.
Instantly she toppled, more from the shock than anything else. She lay there on the ground bleeding, and gave up all hope again, resigning herself to whatever happened.

That awkward moment when things did not go according to plan...
Or, at least partially. Nika's plan was almost perfect, the barrel exploded, the fire started, and most of the mechanics were busy getting it extinguished. Which was a hard thing to do, since more and more barrels were caught ablaze! The green twi'lek smirked, and was half-way towards the swoop and Sinya, when...
- SINYA! NO! - she screamed loud, when one of the mechanics gunned her down, eyes widening, and throat convulsing in a choked sound. The response came immediately - without even aiming, Nika fired a blaster bolt at the unlucky sod, it burning a large hole where the man's heart and lungs were. The corpse fell down with a thud, adding even more confusion and panic to the situation at hand.
- Sinya! - the green twi'lek kneeled to the fallen, wounded girl, quickly examining the wound. The slug hit her in the shoulder, but it did not look lethal, or overly dangerous. Nika breathed out in relief. It's just a flesh wound... - she thought to herself, and actually thought it was. The blasted swoop was not a regular model! That was why Sinya failed! Damn it!
Nika stood up, noticing another mechanic making his way to them. The gates were half-open now, and it was possible to go underneath em. Without a warning, or hesitation, the green twi'lek shot, killing the mechanic instantly, and pressed several buttons on the swoop. The machine came to life, the display glowing green, and buttons - red. More explosions wreaked the scene, fire spreading quickly unto other swoops, and the whole place was becoming covered with thick, black smoke...
- C'mon... I'll get you outta here... - Nika whispered into Sinya's earcone, before putting her unto the swoop. Sitting behind, and pressing her body against the red twi'lek's to keep her fixed in place, Nika prepared to go. And winced - the wounds at her chest were directly in contact with Sinya's back. A few random shots came in her direction, hitting the hull of the swoop, but not doing much damage. The engine was online, and the twi'lek pushed the pedal to the medal. With a beast-like roar, the machine pushed itself forward, sliding right under the gates, and away from the mansion. Where? Who knows, who cares. Just out of here.
We need to get to the spaceport... Uhh... I wonder if this thing has a navigator unit...

Sinya lay helplessly on the ground, far from dead, but extraordinarily miserable.
In the red Twi'lek's estimation, this was a bad day all around. If she'd stayed behind she might have been safe, asleep in her room, comfortable as she could be. And instead she was lying on the floor bleeding.
She heard Nika start up the swoop, and she didn't even have the presence of mind to draw any conclusions from that. She didn't fear that the green woman was leaving without her, or even fear that she'd just been shot. The simple fact was that after her initial gloomy analysis, Sinya'anu had stopped thinking.
Nika hoisted her fellow Twi'lek up onto the bike, which was hardly a difficult feat as Sinya was a whopping five feet tall and 100 pounds. Once she was on the bike though, and it began to move, the dancer squeezed her eyes tightly shut.
Once more, the slave did exactly what she did during unpleasant experiences: Zoned out to the point where she was almost catatonic, and let absolutely nothing affect her.
In this case, Sinya let herself simply fade away, ignoring both the bullet in her shoulder and the fears and doubts she'd had just a few minutes ago. With her mind a blank canvas, there was less to worry about.
She'd worry about things later. If there was a later.

It was finally over...
The grand escape, which culminated in a dramatic shoot-out at the Garage, was finally over. Loro's palace - that wretched mansion that housed so many broken souls, broken lives, tears and pain, was finally behind them, as the speeder was distancing further and further away from them. Cradling the fragile twi'lek underneath, and constantly looking back for any sign of pursuit, Nika was driving towards the spaceport - that large, cylinder-shaped building in the middle of the city.
The was no chase, though. The 'little' fire the twi'lek started claimed the garage, and any speeders the foes might have used to follow. And right now, the fire threatened to claim the rest of the building, so all of the guards were busy putting it out, rather than worry about a bunch of fugitive slaves...
At this moment, the twi'lek could relax, and enjoy the breeze running through her lekku. The injury at the chest hurt, and promised to be a set of ugly scars once properly treated, but it was a small price to pay for freedom. Freedom... never before that word meant so much to Nika. And looking back, she remembered the time she had first encountered such a notion as slavery. Whe Ki'lyal went missing. And looking at Sinya again, the green twi'lek sighed. Ki was not lucky to be saved, and the imprisonment has broken her into something she was not... A twinge of guilt still burned there, and the twi'lek tuned to it for a bit, to feel that burning grasp her heart in its fingers.
Poor thing... She shot someone and got shot in turn in a matter of hours... Must have been a harsh experience...
The Starport was close by. She swooped in on the bike, ignoring the somewhat confused and drowsy night-guard, before stopping the engines, and getting down from her seat. She bled, and bloodstains were all over Sinya as well. She was not shot with a blaster, but with a slug-thrower - a primitive, but surprisingly efficient and gory weapon. Nika thought on what she could do to stop the bleeding, when, suddenly, there were footsteps from behind.
- Who goes there?!
Nika turned around sharply, at the source of the voice. It was the night watcher she ignored earlier - a twi'lek male with a blaster, and in something akin to a worn military armor. He looked stern, but was taken somewhat aback by the sight of Sinya in Nika's arms, and a fiery glare from the green twi'lek too.
- Do you have a medpac close by? - her voice sounded low and somewhat threatening, which was unusual even for herself. The guard nodded quickly, answering 'Yes'.
- Bring it. I'll pay you for the inconvenience. - Nika said to him, hoping that, if not compassion for his own kin, then money would be enough stimulus for the man to help him. The guard nodded again, and ran for the box with a red cross, on the wall, and while he was at it, Nika laid Sinya on the ground, gently, supporting her head with a hand. The other one carefully slapping the spaced-out lethan's cheeks.
- Sinya! Sinya! Wake up! It's over... we're free, do you hear? Free! she whispered into the girl's earcones, and looked up.
It was a beautiful, star-filled night...

Sinya found the pain increasingly difficult to ignore, as it was a dull burn in her shoulder that just wouldn't go away. Still, her blue eyes remained tightly shut until even after they'd stopped. She'd felt herself lowered to the ground, which prompted a soft exhalation.
Then her cheeks were slapped, and Sinya's eyes opened up abruptly. Her state was definitely over now, as a sudden touch she wasn't expecting had a way of pulling her out of her catatonic states.
What really got her though was when Nika said 'we're free,' and then repeated it. At that moment, Sinya looked around with confusion and blinked in surprise a few times. That was it? They'd just escaped from Loro the Hutt's impenetrable Palace, eluded his guards, and made their way out all with only minor injuries?
The Twi'lek girl didn't say anything, instead letting her mouth hang open as she wondered what exactly she was supposed to do with this freedom she'd just acquired. There were so many questions now that she didn't have the answers to, and she felt confused. Very, very confused.
At the moment though, as she stared up, she noticed that the sky up above was velvety, dark and covered with stars. Stars that Sinya couldn't stop staring at.
It was like seeing them for the first time all over again.
"I can't remember the last time I saw stars," Sinya said softly, her voice quickly becoming choked up with emotion.
Soon tears started to stream down her cheeks, and then came light sobbing as she made up for three years of stifling all her emotions and burying them away. Now there was no need.
"I miss my family," She cried, wiping at her eyes with her hands, encased in long purple gloves. It was the first time she'd even thought of her family in a long time, and the painful thing was that she couldn't even remember all of their names, and their faces were blurry.
Even her memories had been stolen by her captivity.

Such a... sad sight, it was.
Nika felt her heart being slowly squeezed out, when she saw Sinya crying, tears of happiness falling down her cheeks. It... it was really sad, to see a person so happy from simply looking at the stars. It was nothing to the green twi'lek, and yet meant so much for the other one. Guess after three years of being locked down, I'd be happy to see it too... - she thought, and brought a sleeve of her stolen jacket closer to her eyes, wiping them away.
- There, there... It's alright...
The night guard came back soon enough, looking at the whole scene for a few moments, not wishing to interrupt. The guy, obviously, was native, and was guessing, from what he heard and saw, just what happened to these two females. Sad it was, the fate of twi'leks on Sleheyron. Sighing soundlessly, he approached, and Nika backed away a bit, but still held Sinya's head in her hands, petting against the lekku gently, to make her calm down more, and ignore the dull pain.
- Hold still, this may sting a bit...
The night guard said, as he, carefully, took Sinya's injured arm, and injected something into the vein, from a tube, so quickly that the red twi'lek would barely have a chance to gasp. After that, almost immediately, her arm would fall limp, as if it wasn't even there. Opening the medpac, he would then take forceps, and proceed taking out the bullet. It wasn't that big, but deformed, from impact in the bone. Luckily, there were no fractures. The blood began flowing from the wound again, unto the ground, leaving a dark-red stain, but the helpful guard clogged it soon enough, using gauze, and bandages dipped in kolto. He wrapped them around the shoulder several times, to keep it firm and make sure it won't fall off. After dealing with Sinya, he would proceed to Nika, but she stopped him with a nod of her head.
- Thanks sweetie, but I will treat myself later. - she chuckled, and pulled the guy closer, planting a kiss on his cheek and making him blush. He nodded, and put his finger to his mouth, making a 'Shhh' sound, which meant that he would keep quiet, and Nika nodded, figuring she would keep quiet about it as well. Helping Sinya get up, the green twi'lek nodded towards a small fighter starship of green color, at the edge, a bit away from other ships out here.
- That's my ship over there. It will fly us out of here. I will find your parents later, I promise. But for now, we must leave this planet asap. Before Loro unleashes a headhunt on us...
Nika could foresee deep consequences later on, but... right now they had to just get out of here. She opened the cockpit, and, with a grunt of pain from her wounds, climbed in, before calling for Sinya to take the place of the co-pilot behind her.
I don't want to spend one more minute on this wretched planet...

Sinya dumbly nodded, completely mute, the tears still trickling down her cheeks as Nika helped her up. Her arm felt completely numb and completely limp and she couldn't seem to control it. It just dangled by her side as the green Twi'lek climbed into the cockpit of the ship and beckoned to her.
The red Twi'lek advanced with hesitant steps, taking hold of the side to climb in, and struggling to lift herself in with one frail arm. She was very short, and she kept falling as she tried to get in.
Somehow she managed to pull herself up enough to reach over the edge and fall into the seat, where she started to situate herself. Sinya saw safety belts, so she fastened one around her slender frame and looked around nervously.
This was not only her first time out of the Palace in three years, but it was also her very first time headed into space; she'd never left Sleheyron before.
Sinya closed her eyes again, suddenly feeling very tired. Her head rested back against the headrest, and she drifted off into a light doze. The sad thing was, she'd already forgotten about freedom, and had instead imprinted on Nika as her new master.
She'd just changed owners in her own mind.

Well, at last, it was time to leave.
As Sinya climbed into the cockpit and strapped herself neatly, Nika waved to the friendly night guard one last time, before lowering down the screen and closing the cockpit. Foolish slave-drivers did not get anything valuable, when they captured her - only her clothes and her blaster. All important things were kept in the safety of her ship. Pressing a few buttons, Nika started the engines, preparing her Gunzarm-series starfighter for flight.
- Don't worry Sinya, we're leaving this ugly dustball. And f*ck me with a pack of cigarettes and three cigars, if I will return to this place any time soon... - the green twi'lek said cheerfully, and looked back, to see if the Lethan was paying attention to what she said. And a moment later, she blinked, before smiling softly. Poor thing was already drowsing away. She must be tired from all of this... plus the medicine taking effect.
Without any delay, Gunzarm soared into air, flying spaceward, into the sky, the world beneath steadily disappearing, soon becoming nothing more than a ball of gray dust - just a ball of dust, and nothing more. All the hideous things and dirt left behind. Nika sighed out, as the blackness of space opened its wide, all-consuming maw in front of her, and started imputing coordinates for a hyperspace jump. The engines were preparing to reach sublight speed, and Nika turned back once more, looking at the sleeping twi'lek, kindly. She had a heart, a big one too. And there was a lot of place for the poor child in it.
Don't worry, soon we will be in a nice place, and you will forget this wretched place like a bad dream...
And as the space and time around them became distorted, the green twi'lek leaned back, scrolling through all the events they've been through today, and pressing her hand to her chest. It almost stopped bleeding there, but it still hurt. Trandoshan left her something to remember him by indeed. But it mattered not now. Shaking her head left and right, Nika murmured the song Sinya was humming back in her cell, it being very common on Ryloth:
- Day and night, day and night, together, together...
