Name: Ysera Vai
Race: Morellian
Age: 22
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 160 lbs
Appearance:
Ysera has long Red/Orange flowing hair that comes down past her shoulders, her hair is is more layers than just a single one and therefore is darker in patches than elsewhere. Never the less the beautiful hair is something that make her easily recognised among her peers.
Her eyes are a dark brownish red colour, which seems to change in different lights sometimes moving to more red than brown and vice versa her eyes accentuated by the use of eye makeup.
She walks in a confident but elegant manor, her footsteps are never loud, but she places her feet down softly step by step.
It’s not uncommon that she is to be found walking around the Jedi temple reading one of various books that she owns. Often they are battered looking things from over use.
Normal Clothing:
Her clothing much like the other Jedi’s clothing, choosing to wear standard looking robes in the colour of white, she wears a Utility belt which is visible from under the over-robe. The robe has a large hood which shrouds Ysera's face when up. When the hood is up her hair flows down the front of her body over her right shoulder.
Personality:
Ysera has a hasty and often irrational nature, she is very confident and sometimes over confident in her ability as a Jedi. Her mental strength, determination and viciousness are part of what make her a powerful member of the Jedi Guardians.
As she is known to be very lively and energetic which has led to her being ready to go and jumping the gun on various occasions, her eagerness has been reflected on many of the tests she has faced throughout her life as a Jedi. Never the less her lively and energetic nature has often reflected well upon those under her command clearing them of what they are nervous of and is on the whole a positive be it sometimes annoying trait of hers.
She is a friendly and kind person who is often the first to help someone who needs it while she is not as experienced as others are in all aspects she will happily dive head first into books to get answers for someone, she has been known to help others revise skills and knowledge in extra tutoring sessions that she holds for people who ask. It is rare that she gets angry, but has been known to show signs of anger when a friend of hers is badly hurt.
Her dream is to master her skills in combat; she has set her gaze on the title of the Jedi Battlemaster a rank saved for only the best in this aspect. But for now she is content with her progress as a Jedi and happy with what she has accomplished thus far.
While she is known for her lively nature, she is often found in peaceful locations admiring the view, meditating or honing her skills in lightsaber combat. It is not unusual to see her challenging multiple people to duels in attempts to improve herself.
Although focusing mainly on melee combat Ysera has a strong and formidable control over her force ability’s, she has been known to use her above average intelligence to gain herself a tactical advatage. This is known as Sokan, while it is not a lightsaber form it is known as a lightsaber principle.
Her determination to learn and succeed has made her many friends in the Jedi order and has given her the will and guts to push forward on things that she can’t at first handle. While she has much to learn she is forever willing to prove that she can and will learn the necessary skills in order to reach her goals.

Prologue:
3601 BBY The galaxy has been thrown into upheaval as the Sith declare their return and the Mandalorians set out to reclaim the planets they believe are rightfully theirs. No one is safe from the effects of this political unrest as the Republic is forced to take the defensive during this time of turmoil.
Chapter One:
Birth of a Jedi:
The story begins on the planet of Morelia on a large estate owned by the Vai family. Residing within the walls of the estate lived a happy family of 3 a Mother known as Sara Vai a Father known as Jackson Vai and a Son known as John Vai with another child on the way. The Vai family was a vastly wealthy and important family on the planet of Morelia with the head of their family being one of the highest ranked Enforcers in the commonwealth.
Sadly during child birth Sara passed away she did however successfully give birth to a beautiful baby girl who was from then onwards known as Ysera. While Ysera’s father was never the same after the death of his wife, he never let it affect his duties as a father, he was determined to give his children the best lives possible and as such decided to leave his home world to somewhere under Republic control believing that what could be offered there would be far greater than anything under the Morellian Commonwealth.
New Life on Onderon:
After many months of planning Jackson took his Son John and his Daughter Ysera to the planet of Onderon where he had arranged a beautiful estate to be built within the saftey of Iziz Spaceport. The estate was built in memory of his wife, Ysera’s mother Sara. With there being so much space for the children to play it was perfect for Ysera to explore and get to know the world in the safety of the estates grounds.
Ysera now aged two had a lot of time to move around and was already walking by this age. She had also began being home schooled by a local teacher who saw that even at this early age Ysera was a bright child who had much potential In the republic. Her teachings continued on a regular basis and for a time it looked as though both of Jackson’s offspring were destined for great things and like there ancestors earn a lot of money to support their families in years to come.
Arrival of a Diplomat:
Having one of the biggest estates in Iziz save the palace Ysera’s home was given the honor of receiving and accommodating a guest in the coming months. A Jedi Diplomat by the name of Tei Brugh who was visiting the queen of Onderon on the Jedi Councils behalf. Being so close to the Mandalorian settlements on Dxun it was imperative that the Jedi keep the people of Onderon safe.
When Tei arrived on the planet of Onderon he was greeted by the Vai family outside of Iziz spaceport. Immediately he sensed that there was a Force sensitive among them, although the children were both young one of them defiantly had a strong connection to the force and Tei realized it was no coincidence that the paths of him and the Vai family had crossed.
With his arrival at the Vai family home he was very interested in finding out whom it was that was connected to the force and offered to look after the children while Jackson sorted out a few things in the home. As Tei watched the children play he noticed how fast Ysera's reactions were to small things. One example was the speed at which she swatted a fly of of her, she had begun moving before it had properly landed. Tei was sure that it was Ysera he’d sensed when he arrived.
Jackson arrived later that day to get the children ready for their lessons; Tei took the opportunity to ask the use of the family’s long range Holo Terminal so that he may speak with the Jedi Council to which Jackson was more than happy to allow.
A New Path:
In the evening the family and Tei all sat down to eat there meal. Jackson who had always been intrigued and greatly respected the Jedi Order was interested in what Tei had needed his holo terminal for so urgently. While Tei could not explain what was said he did tell Jackson the reason behind him needing to contact the Jedi council. Stunned Jackson began to rattle of questions asking first if Ysera would be trained and where would she go.
After a long conversation Tei’s intentions to take Ysera back with him to the Jedi Order had been made clear, and while Jackson was sad that he would lose his daughter, he understood that it was a better life than anything he could provide.
On the Eve of Ysera’s third birthday Tei arranged transport for himself and Ysera directly back to the Jedi Temple. Saying goodbye to her father and brother for the last time she walked with Tei hand in hand, up the ramp of the ship and out of sight.
And so began her new path as a Jedi.
Chapter Two:
A New Beginning:
When Ysera arrived at the Jedi Temple, she stood there astounded by its size. She had lived in large estates all her life but this was magnificent. Ysera did not really understand what was going on, only being three and having no family with her was daunting. It would be for any child. During time as a Jedi youngling she was put in a clan, a group of 10 to be exact.
This time would not only teach her valuable lessons that would no doubt save her life one day but would give her an understanding of brotherhood and team work. Both are vital in a Jedi’s life and roles. It would also help her learn to manage distractions, if she is distracted by what other do she will fail and this would teach her independence as well.
The Art of Lightsaber Combat:
Lightsaber combat being one of the defining characteristics of the Jedi Order was something that from the start Younglings would begin learning, whether it was by book, by watching or by doing it was imperative that every youngling had a grasp of lightsaber combat before they became a Padawan.
Lightsaber combat was something that Ysera picked up incredibly easy and smoothly, impressing many of the people who were instructing her and even more impressive was the way she passed on her knowledge to others, even from a young age. Ysera sometimes asked one of her Jedi Instructors to give her out of class mentoring lessons to help her improve more. This showed because even when moving onto the deflecting of blaster bolts from a remote Ysera showed focus and was the first in her clan to grasp the concept. The extra mentoring continued for most of the time she was a youngling, but with her mentor being a Jedi Knight he could not give a definate time table on when they would or would not be able to practice.
Ysera knew however that the use of training sabres against pre-programed droids was one thing but against a real opponent it was something else. This led to her spending many hours of her day out in the sparring area’s where she could watch and even take notes on the different styles of lightsaber combat.
Friends, Rivals Lend Me Your Tears!:
Ysera’s confidence in swordplay was something that not all her clan mates liked. While she tried not to rub it in, offering to help people with everything was kind of doing the same thing. Ysera believed that she was doing a good thing and from many peoples points view she was. However, when one Youngling by the name of Ro-Sham Boe was struggling and Ysera offered help he shouted at her and told her what he thought about her helping out.
Ysera was very hurt by what was said and ran away to a peaceful part of the Jedi courtyard. Luckily for her another member of her clan a girl by the name of Genii had overheard what happened and came to comfort her, from this moment on Genii and Ysera was almost inseparable and became best friends.
While Ysera thought it best to avoid confrontation with Ro-sham Boe she did continue to offer help to those who needed it and with the two of them backing each other up in difficult times they became known as the Dynamic Duo within there clan.
The Force in Balance:
Spending so much time worried about her performance in lightsaber combat classes Ysera began to steadily fall behind on her control over the force being somewhat far behind the others in her clan in its control.
This was neither due to ignorance nor being bored with the force it was down to her specific likes and dislikes. The fact that she was so intrigued by Lightsaber techniques that she often forgot about what she had learned about the force because she had something else on her mind. It was only when one of the instructors explained to Ysera that without a strong control over the Force and a lightsaber she would never be able to master either.
After this convocation Ysera began to understand how important the right balance of each is, and began to catch up on not only what she had missed, but re-taking the tests she hadn’t done so well at previously; in her own time of course.
This new found inspiration and drive was astounding. Not only was she besting people in her main element, but in what she was at one point the worst at.
The Wide Universe:
It was important to know where the Jedi started, who founded them etc. while the history of the Jedi Order was not Ysera’s favourite lesson she did find some of it interesting especially when learning about the various wars that took place over the course of the Jedi’s long and established history.
Through these lessons Ysera got her first information about the dark side and the Sith, learning how many Jedi betrayed the order in years past. This was a learning experience and something that Ysera knew she must be mindful of throughout her life as a Jedi.
During these lessons they also talked about the birth of the Jedi Code and what it stood for branching of into examples of each element and how it not only makes you a better Jedi but a better person in times of distress and adversity.
The End of the Youngling Years:
The end of Ysera’s years as a youngling were in sight. She was not only now a recognised member of her clan, she had grown into a confident and determined young Jedi who was almost ready for apprenticeship the only thing she lacked was a Master.
However that was all about to change. A Jedi Master by the name of Tycus Rhen who was a Jedi Guardian who had been watching Ysera over the years develop and be sculpted into the Jedi she now was. Believing that the path she should take was undoubtedly the one of the Jedi Guardian Master Rhen approached Ysera about becoming his Padawan learner.
Master Rhen expressed his feelings towards the matter of taking an apprentice, being old his experience was vast and his training regime old fashioned. However it was clearly effective. With him training 4 Padawans in his time as a Jedi.
Exited and stunned that someone would be so interested in taking her as a Padawan learner so soon after completing her time as a youngling she accepted immediately and was given a lay out of the week to week training that she would be undertaking on a datapad.
The journey towards her becoming a Jedi Knight was now on the way and she realised that it would be both a hard and interesting experience that will test her like nothing she had faced to date.
Chapter Three:
Warming the Toffee:
It was a few weeks later before Ysera and Master Rhen met up again. Master Rhen wanted Ysera to understand the task at hand fully before beginning his training regime. Ysera was clear on what she had to do, and where she needed to be in order to impress her new master. The training was clear and the expectations were clearer, there would be no slacking and no questioning just doing and learning.
Before Master Rhen would begin any training in the aspects of combat and the force he deemed it necessary to get Ysera fitter. This would both strengthen her mentally and physically for the tests that Ysera would be put through during her training.
This started firstly by exercising lightly for a few weeks, the usual cardio fitness as well as using different apparatus to strengthen her upper body and tone the muscles. While with his male students Master Rhen wanted them to put on some bulk and put on some muscle, for his female students it was important to tone and define the muscle they already have and burn off all the excess fat. This made them lighter and faster a lot of the time.
He also got Ysera reading about the things that she would learn in the training regime. As well as getting her to lift larger and larger objects with her mind. Master Rhen often told Ysera that the brain is a muscle like all other muscles and that muscles are like toffee. If you warm toffee in your hands before you try and stretch it, it becomes soft and is easily stretched. However if you try and stretch toffee without warming it then it will snap and break.
Ysera was coming along nicely being able to run large distances and in fast times. Ysera was not only becoming focused, disciplined and fitter she was becoming very fond of the running. Which is something she kept herself doing even after this training was done.
When Master Rhen was satisfied with Ysera’s level of fitness he stopped overseeing this part of her training, telling her to carry it on herself throughout her training.
A Light in Darkness:
Master Rhen deemed it was necessary for Ysera to create her own lightsaber at this point in time. As was custom the Lightsaber hilt was created much like her masters, it was a sign or respect and loyalty to the master.
As alot of Padawans did Ysera traveled to the cold planet of Illum in search of her first lightsaber crystal. Guided by her masters wise and knowlageable hand, she managed to find an amazing cave. Although it only took moments for her to retreive her crystal it took her many moments to overcome the beauty of the crystal cave. The crystal colour that Ysera obtained was a blue colour as she'd seen the Jedi Guardians using them.
It took almost an hour for the two of them to assemble the lightsaber. Master Rhen took her through step by step explaining all the modifications that could be made to a lightsaber should Ysera ever make a second.
Ysera was so excited to get her lightsaber. It was everything that she had expected. For the first time she felt like a fully-fledged Jedi who was ready to fight evil across the galaxy.
Baptism in Fire:
Although the training was intense and taxing on both parties, it was understandable the Master Rhen still had a duty to the Jedi Order, especially being a Jedi Guardian in these times. It was not un-usual that Ysera would find herself aboard a ship in the republic fleet alongside her master.
During one such mission the flag ship that held both Ysera and Master Rhen was boarded by a group of Dark Jedi Assasins who had one mission and one mission alone. Eliminate the Jedi on board and capture the ambassador that they had been escorting. This was a scary time for Ysera as it would pose not only her greatest test yet, but the possibility of real combat with a real opponent. Something that Ysera had not experienced outside of sparing with her master.
Alarms were going off in every corridor as Master Rhen attempted to rush Ysera to the bridge where the ambassador was. When they got there the blast doors had been shut and there stood two hooded figures attempting to cut their way in. Sensing the new presences they pulled there blades from the door and turned around to face Ysera and her master.
It seemed that there was one of the Dark Jedi much younger than the other, this led Master Rhen to believe that like he and Ysera they too were master and apprentice. He passed this information onto his Padawan. Ysera hearing this news immediately felt more at ease and more confident. She hadn’t been bested by someone who was an equal rank in the Jedi Order and did not believe that it would happen now.
As the alarms rang and the sound of blaster fire in the distance continued the two Jedi pulled for their hilts and ignited them down by their sides in unison to which the Dark Jedi responded by entering combat with them. While Master Rhen and the older of the two locked blades Ysera and the apprentice did also. The fight lasted several minutes before Ysera struck a fatal blow on the apprentice killing him instantly. The other Dark Jedi noticed this and a temporary laps of concentration allowed Master Rhen a perfect opening.
As both sith laid there dead Ysera collected the hilt of the Apprentice and handed it to her master. Master Rhen applauded her on what she had accomplished and sent her to have some alone time in her quarters.
That first experience was a defining moment in the Life of Ysera up till this point.
Opposites Attract:
During her time as a Padawan Ysera became even closer to a Genii who was in her clan way back when she was still a youngling. They often used each other as Sparing buddies and would often sit down together in the evenings and talk about how each’s training was going.
This was an incredibly strong bond that a lot of the Jedi around the temple over time began to notice. Even when they were apart on missions they would find a way to send a message or holo call one another to talk about the situations they had to face during that day.
Because of Genii’s love of everything about the force and Ysera’s love for everything combat they were often described as opposites complimenting each other by their masters. As well as that their insistence on trying to teach each other what the other had learnt that day sometimes relieved the pressure of the masters allowing them to sit back and input information where necessary rather than teach it.
The Birth of the Jedi Order:
Ysera was sent to Jedi Temple on Tython; there she would seek knowledge and peace within its walls as well as making a pilgrimage along the routes which the first Jedi would have walked. This would provide oppotunitie to see some of the ancient ruins also. Master Rhen believed it was important to learn where the Jedi came from but also go on a journey to understand the beginning of the order.
Much like a pilgrimage Ysera walked in the footsteps of the ancestors there, and searched for the secrets of the Jedi Order. She was not alone as there were a few others’ that would travel there in search of secrets, but also redemption. Some Jedi came to meditate on the light side of the force in the hope that it would cleanse them of dark deeds they had performed.
It was here where Ysera saw what devastation the Force Wars caused to the surrounding area’s as old ruins still showed the scars of the war.
During her journey she came across a small camp just of the path she had been taking. It looked abandoned and as she approached she heard the faint sound of a yelp coming from the campsite. Immediately she began to run towards the camp to try and see what was wrong. Around the campfire were 4 small wolf like pups. She examined each one of them for a heartbeat and only found life in one of them, picking it up in her arms she rushed the pup back to a stream she had passed not too long ago. The poor animal stumbled and fell as it tried to get a drink of water, while the small pup drank from the stream Ysera pulled some food that she had stored in her pack and placed it next to the pup. At first it was nervous not knowing what to do, who was this lady and why was she providing food. After sniffing the food for a while the pup began to eat and Ysera thought it best to look after the animal at least for tonight.
With no real knowledge of animals Ysera had to go on instinct to look after the pup. Believing it was a native beast rather than a domesticated one she thought that once it got its strength it would be off to fend for itself. Ysera was very much mistaken; waking up the next morning she found the pup was curled up on her belly asleep and as she began to move it also woke up. Still not 100% Ysera carried the pup with her most of that day, only putting it down when she wanted to examine something closer.
Many days past before Ysera completed the pilgrimage and visited the area’s that her master had described to her. With the pup now being stronger she believed that it should go back to its wild habitat, but when she tried to shoo away the animal it looked at her puzzled before nuzzling her hand. It seemed that the pup had grown attached to Ysera and would not leave her. Due to this puzzling yet heart-warming experience Ysera decided to take the pup back with her and keep it as a pet. It was a boy and she named it Ankaru.
The Last Years of Learning:
In the final years of Ysera's apprenticeship things were very quite. Her time was focused to mastering the Form of Shii-cho as well as branching out into new more advanced lightsaber forms.
It was during this time that Ysera became a stong practitioner in the lightsaber principle known as Sokan. She had always been someone who was intrested in the tactical side of fights rather than jumping head first swinging. She tried applying sokan in alot of her sparing sessions adopting a range of tactics to gain advantage over her opponent.
As well as polishing of her combat skills and learning new combat techniques she would still spend many hours a day keeping her fitness at a high level. This included her mental fitness and by the end of her training was lifting up every item in her living quaters that was not attached. and moving them around.
The Time Has Come:
Master Rhen knew that Ysera was ready for the trials. Although she had technically already passed the trial of courage onboard the ship when she killed the Dark Jedi it was many years ago now and sadly could not be accepted for passing this trial. However beliving that his padawan was a strong minded and powerful young Jedi Master Rhen had no doubt that Ysera would pass and put her forward for the trials and not suprisingly was quickly accepted.
Chapter Four:
Trial of Skill:
The first test that Ysera would face was the trial of skill. During this trial Ysera would have to test her stamina and lightsaber combat against a simulacrum program in which a Dark Jedi or Sith would appear and fight with her.
From what Ysera had read about this trial she would have to outlast a fight against this simulation in order to pass this trial. There is no specified time limit, and the simulation would only end when those who are assessing Ysera deemed that she had proved her ability.
Entering the chamber of trials Ysera saw her opponent in the middle of the room. As she walked towards this image the program started and combat was initiated. With Shii-cho being Ysera’s most practiced lightsaber form she thought it would be a good idea to stay there before branching out into anything more advanced. As the simulation reigned blows down into her Ysera held a calm and steady position, choosing to take the center of the room as her place for this fight.
Ysera felt her fitness coming through as she did not feel tired or weak during the course of the fight she did not know however if the simulation was going to feel the effects either and after spending the first part of this fight watching for the opponents weakness she decided to go on the offensive. The speed in which she struck the opponents lightsaber was incredible. She was like a woman possessed, she continued to pressure the opponent without giving any quarter using the lightsaber principle of Sokan to cover her weaknesses gaining any advantage she could.
The fight concluded when a blow from Ysera made her opponent stumble. Capitalizing on this she launched the enemy into the air with a kick directly in the center of the chest. The Dark Jedi landed with a crash on his back and Ysera was over him before he could get up holding her lightsaber down towards him.
After the passing of this trial Ysera was sent away to continue private study until her next trial had been decided upon.
Trial of Courage
The next trial Ysera had to face was the trial of courage, because of the nature of the trial Ysera could not research what she may face, nor talk to others about what she may encounter. She was completely in the dark for this one.
On the day of the trial she was summoned to the trial chambers, when she arrived she was given a brief on what it was that she was doing. Ysera did not expect to hear what she did, but was both interested and nervous about what she faced. The trial would be a replica of a test a Jedi by the name of Revan took on Korriban to uncover the star map. Ysera’s task was in essence simple, she must brave the tomb of Naga Sadow fighting her way through what she may or may not find. She was told that physical enemies would not be her only enemy on this task and that she must be mindful of everything while she was there.
After the briefing ended Ysera entered the simulation and stood at the start of her task, just inside the doors of the tomb. Around her lay skeletons of those who had failed the task before and the sound of something bubbling could be faintly heard. As well as this Ysera heard howls and grunts coming from all over the tomb.
Slowly Ysera began to walk down a long corridor, it was incredibly dark and vision was limited. As she continued down the corridor she heard loud grunts not far in front of her igniting her lightsaber as a light source she raised her eyes to see a pack of wraid’s looking at her. Suddenly one of the wraid’s let out a roar and began to charge towards Ysera, holding her ground Ysera sent two of the wraid’s crashing into the walls of the corridor knocking them out cold. As the others neared her she made short work of them before continuing on with her task.
Shortly after the fight Ysera reached another problem, where was she going to go. Hearing the bubbling sound strait onwards she decided to go and check on what it was there. Shining her lightsaber over the area the light revealed a pool of acid. Not risking jumping across she decided to head back and choose another route. Not knowing where she was going or how large the tomb was Ysera cut an X into the ground with the lightsaber, with an arrow pointing to the way out. After a little deliberation Ysera decided to go right.
Fighting her way down the corridor she encountered various creatures, including more wraid’s. After following the path for a while Ysera arrived at an old terminal, upon closer inspection Ysera was amazed to find that it was still working, suddenly a loud crashing sound appeared and a large stone door fell blocking the path that she just came down.
After reading what the terminal screen said she worked out what she had to do, it was a puzzle and she believed that by completing it she could exit this room she was currently trapped in. After looking at the 4 towers on which she would need to transfer energy to she worked out what her process would be deciding that this was the best way to do it as trial and error on the terminal itself could be dangerous. After a few minutes Ysera was happy with the combination she had to move the energy between pillars and so she began. Left pillar --> to the Middle, Left --> to Right, Middle --> to Right, Left --> to Middle, Right --> to Left, Right --> to Middle, Left --> to Middle, Left --> to Right, Middle --> to Right, Middle --> to Left, Right --> to Left, Middle --> to Right, Left --> to Middle, Left --> to Right, Middle --> to Right as she input the last movement the door opened as well as a new door she did not notice before. From behind one door came more wraid’s luckily for Ysera however they tripped a mine that was around the door and were killed.
There was no map in the room that had opened to her neither was there any other ways out of the room besides the door she entered through, the only thing that was in the room were skeletons and a sword in a stone obelisk. Turning and leaving the room Ysera continued until she could see the X that she had marked earlier on the floor then continued down the last path that was left.
Shortly after she reached a door, there was no visible way to enter the room so she felt around the door with her hands stumbling upon a button in the centre which she pushed opening the door. The doorway led to a large room which held two huge Tarentateks at the far side of the room. Although they posed a mild challenge Ysera’s swordsmanship was more than enough to kill the mighty beasts. During the fight Ysera tripped a lever at the back of the room that opened a large side door. Entering the new room Ysera saw two obelisks that stated they were the pillar of ice and pillar of flame. Reaching within the obelisks she found two grenades and then it hit her.
Running to where the pool of acid was Ysera threw the ice grenade into it and completely froze the acid solid. She slowly made her way across the ice to the other side where she was faced with a room holding a weird object in its centre. As she approached it the simulation ended and she was informed that she passed the trial.
Trial of Flesh:
It was several months before Ysera heard word about her next trial, and when she did it was worse than anything she could ever imagine. The trial of flesh involved the overcoming of great hardship, loss or physical pain.
Ysera had read in the archive about the different ways people had passed the trial before her and the horrific things some Padawans had to overcome.
That day Ysera was called in front of the Jedi Council, the council spoke clearly and calmly to Ysera and told her the fate of her best friend during a diplomatic mission to Phaeda with her master. The sith had got word of them traveling there and when they came out of light speed they were greeted by a Sith Battle cruiser that had travelled from the nearby Empire controlled systems. There was nothing that could have been done, the ship carrying Genii and her master could never have hoped to repel firepower of that magnitude and they were sadly killed.
Ysera hearing this news fell to her knee’s distraught. She was horrified that something like this could happen to someone, her once naive self received a wakeup call unlike any other all be it a horrible one. As a reminder that the galaxy was a cruel and unforgiving beast.
Due to the loss that Ysera had suffered the Council deemed her worthy of passing the trial of flesh. It was a few days before Ysera recovered and if it hadn’t been for the companionship that her dog Ankaru showed her it may have taken a lot longer than it did.
Trial of Spirit:
When Ysera recovered from the trial of flesh she informed the council that she was ready to continue on with her trials. The final test she had to face was the trial of spirit in which she much search deep within the darkest parts of herself and defeat them, in the process she would learn something about herself or someone she knew.
Kneeling down in the centre of the trial chamber where only months ago Ysera fought for the passing of the trial of skill, as she knelt there she began to meditate searching deep within her. As she passed deep into the darkest parts of herself and further.
Suddenly Ysera sees a white light and finds that she is walking through the estate where she used to live. There she see a dark figure in the distance standing in black robes looking down the courtyard towards her. As she approaches the person the face becomes clearer eventually Ysera realises who she was looking at. Her brother John.
She tried to talk to him, but he did not reply. As he ignited his lightsaber he charged at her and initiated combat. The fight raged for a long time before Ysera’s adept control over Sokan provided her with the high ground. John force leaped towards her trying to cut her down, but the opposite happened. Ysera carved her brother in two and hit lifeless body fell into the dirt.
The upset Ysera dashed inside to her house in the hope of finding her father, when she entered the door she smelt the stench of burnt flesh and when she found her father it was too late. John had tortured and killed his father in the name of the a Dark Jedi Clan. Something Ysera later found out was what he needed to do to pass his trials and become accepted by them.
After she roused and recovered from her vision she stood before the council and explained what it was she saw. She also explained to them that she had learnt the feeling of helplessness. From learning this she explained that while she was powerless to stop what she saw, she learnt that not everything can be avoided and that the force does everything for a reason. The council passed her on the Trial of spirit and told her that she had completed her trial. The date of the Knighting was set for one week later and Ysera could not wait.
The Knighting Ceremony
The next day she was woken by her master, who got Ysera up, out of bed and eating a hearty breakfast fast before her Knighting. It was so early the sun was only just coming up. She guessed she'd have to get used to these early wake ups if a war broke out.
Ysera was handed ceremonial cloths that she would be wearing and was left get changed the garments were the nicest cloths she had ever set eyes on, they were made out of the finest materials and were so smart.
When Ysera arrived at the Council Chambers the High Council called Ysera and her master in in via the holocom outside. As they entered the Council members bowed before them and she steped forward.
The Jedi Grandmaster asked Ysera to kneel and Severed the Padawan braid officially granting her the title of Jedi Knight. She was then told about the 3 paths that were laid before her. The Jedi Consular, The Jedi Guardian or The Jedi Sentinel.
It was obvious the choice she would make, as predicted she raised with the title of Jedi Guardian. As a gift from her now former master, she was presented with two new lightsaber crystals in the colour of blue in which she can place within the hilt of her Lightsaber officially showing her role within the order.

Ysera walked down the corridor, slowly as she always did and quite as a mouse. She admired the artwork on the walls and the architecture on the stone pillars and carvings. As she continued to walk down the corridor to the exit of the Jedi Temple the natural light poured through the doorway onto her and she paused for the slightest of moments to admire it. A smile appeared on her face and she continued to walk out of the temple when suddenly a Voice behind her shouted.
“Ysera Wait… Ysera”
She swiftly turned 180 degrees as her hair swept around behind her and she saw a figure running towards her, she squinted to see who the obscured figure was and saw that it was Dak her old Padawan.
“What’s wrong Dak, why they shouting?” She said back to him puzzled.
When Dak finally reached Ysera he explained why he wanted to talk to her.
“I never got a chance to thank you for your training of me” He said as Ysera interrupted.
“You don’t have to..” Ysera spoke before Dak interrupted back.
“Just hear me out” Dak said in a calm manor.
“You were the only one who believed in me when I was a youngling. If it wasn’t for your training I would have never been able to accomplish my dream.”
Ysera smiled and almost blushed; this was new to her and defiantly unexpected. “You were young; it was not my training that got you where you are now. I merely guided you down the right path. It was your effort that got you where you are now.” She said smiling.
“Now go on back into the temple... I’m sure there’s something more you can learn in there.” Ysera chuckled as she said this and began to turn and walk away.
As she walked away she heard the sound of footsteps fading off in the direction of the temple.
