When one is in a losing position, sometimes even the smallest things can be considered a victory. Shine could count the things good about this situation on one hand; he was alive, his ship was mostly intact, the bounty on his head was gone...and not much more then that.
So when Shanti's face went from glee to frowns when he handed her the datapad, Shine counted it a small personal victory. Likely she had been hoping for access to his main account, where it was possible she might try to take more then what he promised her. Shine may have been slow at times, but he wasn't that dumb. He had several side accounts hidden that he could pull from if he had too and he often kept them stocked with funds to pull from rather then his main, which he used only when he had to make a major purchase of something. It was a hassle, but at times like these, it sure came in handy.
Shine watched quietly as Shanti went about her work on the datapad, glancing to Vis, who had gone silent. No doubt he was communicating with his Father or possibly the other Familiars in the base; this close, their unique link wouldn't be hard to access. Which also meant that if Shine had to, he had quick access to a call for help. But if he'd read anything right about Shanti, then once she got money, she wouldn't be a problem.
He was sort of right. As he took the datapad back from her and inspected it, he smiled. It took only a few moments to send the funds to her, his fingers quick and to the point on the pad, before he set it aside and let out a sigh of relief. All done...mostly. Now all he had to do was call a ride for her to the spaceport and get her away from him. He lifted his head to address that just in time to see her collapse into the chair behind her. Shine stayed still for a moment, studying her, before frowning and undoing the holster for his blaster. He held it up in front for her to see before putting it next to Vis, his hands up in a gesture of peace.
"The funds have been transferred. And getting you a ride should be easy. But not yet...gonna sound bad, but I need you to trust me for a second here. I think you might actually be hurt a bit...and as much as I want you gone, I'm not so bad a person that I'd send you off injured."
He approached her slow, his hands held out in front of him to show he didn't have any tricks planned before squatting down in front of her, studying her face. "As I recall, you hit yourself pretty hard during the flight, right? You could have a concussion. I know you're in a hurry to get out of here but at least let me or someone here make sure you aren't gonna pass out and not get up again. Even if you don't trust me about it, I swear on my ship that its my only intent. No tricks. Alright?
And then I'll get you a ship to the spaceport; there's one not far from here. Fair?"
