Vex sat in one of the booths of the local dive bar in Ahto City, the capital of this aquatic planet. The place he'd chosen catered to the off-worlders and accepted all clientele. The only species that wasn't very prevalent in this place was that of the Selkath themselves. This was for the outsiders...the "guests" of the Selkath and to their eyes, not worth the locals visiting.
He had the booth to himself...his mind tricks playing out much as they had on Coruscant...guiding the people around his place of rest without letting them know that he was there...and he held a drink in his hand, just in case he ran across a few of the stronger minded. His generally presence and foreboding aire pretty much assured that any that did see him wouldn't have much of an inclination to join him.
Why was he here? Simple really. He'd heard through some sources that she had recently been "commended" for her actions on Selonia and "awarded" a position leading the Republic Army's peacekeeping presence here on Manaan. With kolto so critical, this would seem to be quitea cushy and rewarding promotion...but Vex new better. People wanted her out of the way. The woman had a warrior spirit...she would hate being here, jockeying a desk and the occasional minor drunken confrontation.
This dive was, of course, one of the more popular ones for the Republic soldiers. Languidly, he watched them in their various methods of winding down from another uneventful shift. Eventually...he knew he'd see the one he was looking for.

Aunna growled to herself as she shoved another pile of papers to the side. She'd had enough of paperwork. Let those who had signed up to be paper pushers push the papers. She should have been out somewhere she could be useful...not guarding a bunch of kolto. The Republic had other people who could do the task beside her! Looking at the time, she noted it was considerably late and felt her stomach growl slightly. Snorting in displeasure, she stood to put on her blue and white overcoat. She had opted for a pants ensemble that she had worn during her time in the navy, and very similar to the one her brother still wore. Speaking of her brother, she wondered if perhaps she should call him and complain. He always did get a kick out of hearing her "sob stories" as he called them, and found it quite enjoyable to make fun of her for weeks afterward. The plus side: she got to vent her mounting frustrations with her position in the army.
Walking down the various pathways, a chill breeze came up, and her newly healed leg twinged in pain. Cursing under her breath, the major did her best to ignore the pain, and trudged on toward the local dive bar. Another gust of wind and she stopped. Something just didn't seem right....she shouldn't head to the bar yet....her gut told her to turn around, but the need for food won out. She hadn't eaten since last night.
Stepping into the bar, she froze almost instantly as if a wall stood in her way. Narrowing her eyes, she wondered why she felt so cold the moment she walked in...no, something was most certainly not right.

Ah....of course. Beneath that mask, Vex smiled slightly. He felt the Major's presence drifting closer. Through the Force, it seemed inevitable that their paths would cross here. Such things were never left to chance...oh on...the Force worked in many a strange and mysterious way. It did not, however, work by chance.
As she entered and began to look around the room, he began to channel that will more directly...getting people to unconsciously shift and move from the passage of her gaze, opening up a clear line of sight for her...directly to him. To her, he did not extend that will to remain unseen. As her eyes fell upon him, he would courteously gesture to the vacant area within his booth, offering her a seat.
To her, he was the same as always...that pallid countenance half-shrouded by long dark locks of hair and that rough-hewn hood that he preferred...his face half covered by that cybernetic mask.

The people milled about in what seemed to be an extraordinarily organized fashion. She was suspicious. They began to part to the side of her. She was wary. A re-breather masked face appeared at the end of the tunnel of people. She glared.
As he motioned for her to take a seat, she narrowed her eyes to slits and stubbornly stayed where she stood. Great, not only had she been slighted by her male-supiriority enthralled higher-ups, but now she had a dark jedi stalker. Rolling her eyes, she wondered vaguely if her life could get any better. She doubted it. Well...she had nothing to lose, and she didn't want to start a fight in the middle of a crowded bar. Straightening herself up, if it was possible to do so any further, she walked toward the man. Sitting down across from him, she simply glared at him for a moment before speaking.
What?
She half snarled at him. Aunna had a vague idea of why he wanted to get to her, why he stalked her...for information...but what information. She had none that he could possibly want.

"Sit down, Major Borgonia. You look positively famished and, given the dinner crowd, I thought you might be able to replenish yourself quicker by dining with me." Even through the filters on that rebreather, he seemed impishly mirthful as he regarded her while she sat across from him. "Ah...here is the server now."
The droid server trundled up to them, waiting patiently until she ordered before setting off again. Leaning back, Vex drew off that mask, letting it rest against his chest for a while. Despite his persona, up close he wasn't horrendous to the eye. His features were rather predatory and angled...none would ever mistake him for holovid star. When coupled with that unflappable confidence, however, he had a feral, almost leonine handsomeness.
"I'm please to see that you look to be healing well. I hope that I hadn't hindered you too much. Forgive my manners, however...for it seems congratulations are in order. You and your men managed to ride the galaxy of three Dark Jedi and relatively light casualties. Impressie enough for you to be rewarded wit this post." It would almost sound sincere..except for that razored edge of bemusement in his tone.
Even without the Force, he could tell she hate it here.

(listening to a queen song and your avvie just cracked me up by dancing with it. Claps timed perfectly! LMAO)
Huffing lightly, she quirked an eyebrow at him and settled her hands on the table top as she ordered from the droid who had just trundled over, never taking her eyes off the man before her. Removing the breather, she wondered vaguely why he wore it. She'd seen others with the same thing, they'd had pretty badly damaged lungs, and she pondered the fact that maybe he'd been injured. Tilting her head to the side slightly, she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she watched him from a slightly different angle.
He wasn't half bad looking, he wasn't overly good looking either, but he certainly had an odd look to him that made her WANT to look at him...though perhaps it was just another little trick he was playing on her mind. Listening to him speak she huffed again, narrowing her eyes slightly once more.
Yes, no thanks to you, since you're the one that broke my leg in the first place. Though I should be thankful. You could have easily killed me.
She countered simply, her voice a carefully practiced neutral tone...though she was certain he knew that she wasn't in the least bit happy about having been injured, nor toyed with.
Again, it wasn't me or my men that delt with those dark jedi...and you know that. You also, I'm sure, are quite aware that this is far from a reward, so stop tip-toeing around what you came here for, or you could just leave me be, go on your merry way, and have your little tiff with the jedi, or whatever you're motivation is. Though, I'm sure the latter would be too much to ask of you since you seem so persistant in having dealings with me.
She continued, blinking nonchalantly at him as if she were talking about the weather, not being stalked by some dark jedi after god only knew what.

"As I recall, Major Borgonia, you were offered several chances with which to forego hostilities and conduct business in a more peaceful fashion. You also attacked first. Any injuries to your person, while regrettable, were unavoidably done in self defense."
His mouth quirked a bit as he spoke to her, amused, it seemed, by using the facts to twist things to make her the aggressor. All in all, it was good-natured, simply sharing a bit of verbal repartee with her. Lacing his fingers together, he leaned closer to her, letting those black eyes stare into her own.
"And perhaps what you say is true. The official report, however, lauds greatly on you and your unit managing to route and apprehend three malefactor Force Users, resulting in one unfortunate death, a maiming, and one capture, while achieving losses and injury that were relatively light compared to the hostility factor of your opponents. As we both know, the official story is the only story that matters."
His expression became more earnest, however, no longer playing the simple, amiable seating partner. "Aunna, may I call you Aunna? Tell me, if you will, how you feel. How do you feel knowing that you have fought and given your all in the service of something greater than yourself. How does it feel to have willingly sacrificed for the greater good, only to have those above you repress you. To have them undermine you and thwart your desires and needs? What do you feel, knowing that those who could help you get what you deserve instead deny it to you out of jealousy and fear of your potential? My persistence in dealing with you is simply one that any might have when dealing with a kindred spirit."
His voice lowered, still darkly silken and clear, but low enough that she would have to lean closer to hear. "For I do believe we have more in common than you realize..."

((ooh you tricky little bugger. ^_^ I love it.))
Aunna raised an eyebrow at his words. The first part, she simply shrugged her shoulders. He could see it which ever way he wanted, it didn't make it correct. However, at the same time, it didn't necessarily make her interpretation of events any MORE correct than his. Clearing her throat, she sat back against the seat, arms folded before her as she listened to the second statement he made. She couldn't help but agree with him on this part. Often the public story was the only one that mattered, and not the truth of the situation. The major was content to let the man ramble on when he asked if he could call her by her first name...only then did she bristle, ever so slightly.
No, you may not call me by my first name, until I know yours. You are at the advantage, but since you at least seem to be showing SOME signs of common courtesy, however falsely played, you should know that it's only fair for me to know YOUR name before I even think about allowing you to call me by my first.
She quipped, sitting forward again to lean on the table, her face coming closer to his. Her eyes showed that she was quite serious and that all conversation following this would be short until he gave in to her request.
As for how I feel...why tell you? You obviously already seem to know my answer, but that doesn't mean that I'll let my feelings dictate how I live my life. I have enough blood on my hands, and enough dark deeds in my past that I don't need to go looking for any more as far as my career is concerned.
I'm sure you have a good reason for talking with me, but I'm afraid that I'm not of much use to you. I highly doubt I know what ever it is you hope I know...and if I do, there had better be a damn good reason for me to even consider telling you since it means I will practically be selling you everything I still have to my name: my pride, my honor, and most likely my life.
She replied, her blue eyes glinting like sapphires, and as hard as durasteel. Aunna was hardly in any mood to play word games, or be trifled with at all, since her leg still ached from the cold wind outside. The major honestly didn't know what this man was getting at, but if he thought she would join him, or the sith army, or what ever faction he was from, he was wrong. If he thought she would easily sell out government secrets, he was wrong there too...first off, she held few of them, secondly, it would mean her hide would be tanned and tacked to some office door back at HQ....and worst of all, it would stain her family's reputation.

"You wound me with your harsh and erroneous accusations on my part, Major Borgonia. You mistake the ability to peer into a mind with the desire to. I am far from omnipotent or omniscient. I am quite mortal, just like you...my...reliance on cybernetics should make that quite clear. Truth be told...knowing something isn't the same as having someone explain it to you. You lose some of the import and the meaning." He inclined his head a couple degrees toward her, an eventual concession to her earlier demands about his own first name. "I could give you several names, Aunna Borgonia. I could give you the name I was borne with...but I am not longer him. He was taken away from me. I could give you the names I have been called, the titles and epithets that I have acquired over the years. But who I am...who I have become, is far simpler. In fact. I think you'll find it fitting. I am Vex."
His mouth curled up, forming a faint ghost of a smile. It was a shadow of what had once been a lopsided expression filled with good will and mirth. Eventually it faded, however, and he became more earnest.
"What would you say if my requirements had no need for bloodshed...if what I needed from you held no threat or concern for the Republic or anyone else. You need not sell your soul to help me when all I wish is a chance to be gien back what I had taken from me. Like you...I've sacrificed much for others, gave a part of myself." Unconsciously, his hand rose up, idly stroking the rebreather that rested there at his chest. "All I want is to be whole. Is that truly such a terrible thing?"

She gazed quietly at him as he spoke, not choosing to interrupt him as he spoke. She highly doubted he was 'wounded by her words' in any way, the rest of his statement rang true. She wondered silently, if perhaps he had been....no. No way had he been one of them. Polar opposits...but...what if? People could turn 'evil', why not jedi? Did she truly think that all jedi STAYED jedi forever? They were just like anyone else...they hurt, bled, felt happiness, sadness, anger...
Blinking slowly, she tilted her head to the side slightly, and even let out a slight chuckle at his 'new' name...yes, Vex did seem rather fitting as he was indeed rather vexing. Sighing, the woman ran a long fingered hand through her hair, an unusual display of emotion from the typically stern and stoic major. She actually felt rather bad for the man, she didn't know why just yet, but she did. It wasn't so much pity as...understanding perhaps? Closing her eyes for a moment as she continued to listen, she absorbed the new information she was gaining about him. So he wanted to be 'whole'....how did he intend to do that? And wasn't he happy enough just being alive? She shook her head.
No. It's not, but....I must wonder about your methods of obtaining this information. You're lucky to be in the state you are, still able to walk, talk....live. I don't know what happened to you but....
She shook her head again, forcing the images of men and women dying around her...both those she had worked with, worked for, protected, and fought against. Sighing, she folded her hands on the table once again, staring at a singular spot on the table.
You asked how I felt earlier...disappointed, slighted, angry...to say the least.
She said slowly choosing each word carefully, as if they might come back to haunt her.

"I am not fortunate, Aunna. I have seen what the Force can do...I watched it bring my former Master back to life, felt it flow through me and into him. But I cannot, however, use that to heal myself. I know that there are ways to heal the most grievous of wounds, secrets that the Masters horde to themselves. They refused to help me and thus helped cause my fall." He tilted his head. "How would you react if the people you trusted, that were supposed to help and guide you refused you something like that, something you knew was in your power? What if they refused to help one of your men?"
His breathing had grown raspier, his voice losing the smooth tone and becoming rougher, huskier. He'd gotten close to reaching the acceptable limit he could go without the mask. Consternation filled his gaze as he looked down at the mask and, with great reluctance, fitted it back. "Back to the monster again. Perhaps this will be more comfortable for you to deal with? More familiar?"
Leaning back, away from her as though to keep her from recoiling from him now, with that mask again. His pale hand rose, gesturing to the mask and then back down. Though hidden by his robes, it wouldn't be hard to imagine more hardware down there.
"The truth, Aunna, is that I was almost killed doing exactly what I did today...what you were trying to do. My Master and I had gone to investigate strange black market sales. They were holocrons and, unknown to us, being sold on the market by Dark Jedi. Once confronted, it invariably led to a confrontation. I had beaten my opponent and he had surrendered. Of course, quarter was given...and when I let my guard down, he struck."
He had placed his hands back on the table...both were fisted tight...he emotions rippling off him like waves in the Force so strongly that even she could not miss it with her minor link to the Force.
"Should I continue to be punished for doing what was right...what I was taught?"

The major let out a dark laugh. Obviously he hadn't tried to get to deeply into her mind, or he'd know that they had done just that...on numerous occasions she had been ordered to leave men behind who could still be saved, essentially sealing their fate as being dead men. They had proclaimed men that could still be treated as lost causes...yes, she knew what he meant. Yes, she hated them for it, but at the same time, she also knew that it was her own decision to obey those orders. At the same time she knew that there were times that emotion took hold of her better judgment, and only by being ordered to leave had she and others been kept alive. More than once she had been defiant of her superiors, but never had she gone to the lengths of stealing, or killing to save something or someone that she knew couldn't be saved...and sometimes ones that could. Not all things could be undone once they were done....just like not all people had the same skills and abilities. They have. Numerous times. I did what I could when they wouldn't, but I also know that not all things can be fixed, not all things can be undone. No one MADE you do anything. It was your choice to follow your current path. Did it never occur to you that perhaps no one else has the abilities that you have? Did you never stop to think that perhaps they weren't hiding anything? Or that maybe...just maybe...they were acting like over concerned parents and trying to shield you from what you've become? She snorted as he put on the rebreather again and said that he was back to being the monster. Aunna disagreed. It wasn't how he looked that made him the monster, it was what he had allowed himself to become. She didn't flinch, she didn't look away, she honestly didn't care what he looked like...he was the same person regardless. As he spoke once more, the anger rippling off him, she gritted her teeth to keep from moving. Aunna never had been one to back down. You are the only one who sees it as a punishment. If it had been me, I would have considered myself lucky to be alive after something like that, I would have trained harder, I would have learned from the situation, and I would have been more cautious next time around.
Despite what you may think of yourself...half alive, fallen, monster....you are still the same person and the only reason you've changed at all is because you've let yourself change. You allowed yourself to become the monster you so hate. It isn't the machinery that makes you a monster, it's what you've become because of your own choices. As she ended her sentence, the droid returned with her food, but she waved it away. I'll pay at the front. I was just leaving. She said simply, as if nothing of importance had happened, and she was simply not hungry any longer. The droid trundled away again and she stood up. If you'll excuse me, I have more important things to do than try and convince a fallen jedi that his life is worth something more than what he believes. With a curt nod, she turned and started walking toward the front of the bar. With nearly impeccable timing a new man entered the bar, eyes almost instantly focused on Vex. By the uniform he wore it was clear that he was of the sith army....and by the waves of emotion coming off him Aunna immediately knew he was a force user. As the man's hand reached around behind him for a hilt that had previously been hidden the military officers in the bar sprung into action getting everyone out of the way the best they could. Pulling something out of her pocket, Aunna spun around as her spear seemed to magically appear in her hands. Obviously it hadn't, she had built it to collapse to a size that could easily fit into her pockets or on her belt, and luckily she had brought it with her today. An orange light saber sprang to life in the man's hand, but Aunna was already swinging the back of her spear at his head. Startled slightly, the man spun about, and Aunna recognized his face. It was similar to the man that had his mind destroyed by Vex. Cursing to herself, Aunna found her strike blocked. This man obviously wanted someone dead...and by the look in his eyes, he recognized Aunna as the one in charge of the party that had supposedly captured his brother. Another flash of orange swept by the major's face and she back peddled enough to stay clear of the damage that would have been inflicted...though not for long. Seemingly as one, they both lunged forward, there was a sound of sizzling skin and the strangled sound of agony from the man, the spear head driven upward into his body and protruding from his back. The smell of blood and burnt skin filled the bar as once more the soldiers sprung to action, getting everyone in the bar out. As if frozen in time, the man and Aunna stood there for a moment, the saber having cut into her side, but only by inches. The man seemed to fall in slow motion as he collapsed to the floor, his saber flickering out. Aunna staggered back a few steps hitting a table behind her, where she continued to lean heavily, her breaths shallow from pain, her eyes glazed over slightly as she fought to remain conscious against the waves of burning pain she felt in her side. ((so there theron. she just saved Vex's arse! ))

Vex had been aware of another presence, but he had been focused on Aunna and their conversation. Of course, he hated the canned, obvious answers that she gave him. Yes, they'd said the same thing too...and yet they hadn't even allowed him the chance to look. The kept him from even searching. If there had been no answer, he could have lived with that...but to not even give him the chance to learn whether it was true or not? Well, that he could not abid.
She stood up to leave and that's when he managed to finally bring his attention to what he'd been missing. The malevolent intentions of the other Force User. He'd cleared the table, but the man had already entered and the pair had entered into combat. Involving himself now would only complicate things and risk her more.
Then it was over, that quick. He caught the eruption of that spear head through the man's back and the sizzle as that lightsaber cut deep. She was fortunate that the weapon cauterized as it cut...but she could die just as quickly from the shock of the wound. As she fell back, leaning against that table, she'd find him there at her side.
He removed that hated rebreather once more before letting his face fill her view. He'd leaned in close, one hand slipping into her hair, cupping the back of her neck. Some of the other bystanders had already gone for help...but they weren't going to be quick enough.
"Look at me, Aunna. Concentrate on me, not the pain. Look into my eyes."
His other hand felt cool against the searing wound in her side. It hovered over it, covering the damage as those black pits stared into hers. That mental presence, that will, was felt in her head once more, but in a far different manner than the past. He pushed warmth and comfort, finding the points of the brain that registered that pain and dampening them. It wasn't so much for the current pain...as it was for what was to come.
"I am sorry, little one, this will hurt...but it is necessary. Others may have been willing to stand by and withhold help for me, but I will not do the same to you."
He opened himself to that other, oft unused talent as of late. Crackles of dark energy began to play between his fingertips and her flesh. Even with the dulled physical senses, the agony of it would take her breath away. Through that pain, however, the Force worked, undoing the major damage, making them knit back together.
She wouldn't be perfectly healed, oh no, but much of the damage would be healed, drawing her out of danger. Besides, they were on Manaan...the kolto would be able to take care of the rest. He released the power, feeling the drain on him. Healing her took from him. He was weakened, that grip behind her hair trembling lightly, but he kept himself upright.
"You're a fool, Aunna. I am not one whom you should be trying to protect."
And then the Republic Med-teams were there and he was pulled away as they began to work on her. The more people crowded in, the farther he slipped back, dark eyes remaining on her.

Suddenly, through the pain there was another presence...something familiar, yet...not. The presence was still tinged with darkness, but there was an undeniable warmth and light to it. It spoke words she didn't quite understand through the fogginess the pain brought, she just saw the black eyes and she did her best to force herself to focus on them. The pain lessened and finally she was slightly aware of what was going on around her. A cool hand was at the back of her head and another on her burning side. There were words...more pain? She didn't even want to imagine such a thing was possible...she'd been through pain before, but nothing like that of a lightsaber injury, and now there would be more? Before she had time to think further there was indeed more pain.
Her eyes shut against it and her muscled tensed, but she didn't cry out...the only sound that escaped her was a short whimper. Tears formed in her eyes due to the horrible pain, but she didn't fight them as she normally would have. Instead she tried to focus on the only things she could...breathing and that light, that presence. It seemed ages that the pain went on, accompanied by the sound of an odd crackling. Then, as soon as it had started, it ended. The pain was still far from gone, but it had lessened dramatically, and she was able to breathe once more.
"You're a fool, Aunna. I am not one whom you should be trying to protect."
The pain was easing now, and she felt people swarm around her, the med-teams no doubt. Her heart denied his words...of course he was worth protecting...there was still something good in him, there was still hope, still some shard of light, and that was what she was always willing to die protecting. Some part of her felt him slipping back, away, and that same part of her didn't want him to leave...stay here! it begged. Her body trembled slightly as she the med teams worked to stabilize her further before moving her.
A single tear slipped down her face before they lifted her to take her to the nearest medical bay.

She'd been taken to the medical bay and put on a full treatment of kolto. There were some perks to being slapped back into a dead end position when it was being in charge of the Republic Forces on Manaan. Three days later and they were about to release her. The doctors had been surprised. From the reports and the initial assessment, her wounds had been grievous. Yet when they got her into surgery, it had been considerable, but not even close to life-threatening. With the full spectrum kolto treatments, it was almost healed and there wasn't even going to be much in the way of a scar. The doctors were flabbergasted.
This third day, Vex had made his way into the hospital. His mind tricks worked well enough against the people within, but it wouldn't do anything for the surveillance cameras. He was cautious, however, tracking their panning motions and slipping around in their blind spots.
Now he was there, in her room in the corner, directly beneath the camera, out of sight, and gazing quietly at her, shrouded in those midnight robes. His arms were folded in front of him patiently.

As usual, she found herself filling out paperwork. Even now, she'd had several folders brought to her to look over and sign for various reasons. It wasn't until a familiar cold feeling crept over her that she even bothered to look up over the tops of her glasses. Her pen paused over a paper she had been reading as she saw him standing there. She blinked, glanced up at the camera without moving her head and sighed. Now what? She was fairly certain that he was a wanted man somewhere in the galaxy. Luckily, cameras didn't have microphones.
Hello Vex.
Thank you for healing me.
She said quietly. Aunna didn't bother to motion to the seat beside her, since she felt that he most certainly didn't want to be in the camera's views.

"Hello, Aunna. I'm glad to see that you are doing better. Though, in the future, I would prefer it if you utilized your head instead of your heart. While you are welcome, I would prefer if you left the lightsaber battles to someone equally matched. I am not entirely helpless, if you had not noticed."
He chided her, but it was only light consternation and she would be able to feel through the force that his words stemmed from concern.
"They save you from the lightsaber just to kill you with paperwork?"

She smirked and snickered slightly.
I like to think I use equal measures of both heart and head, but my superiors would say otherwise. In this case I think both sides would be correct. Either way, I was closest, and since you robbed my of my glory in capturing the others, I thought to regain my good standing by helping with this one.
She retorted in an unusual display of humor.
And yes. They would much rather I die of boredom than a noble death.
She was silent for a moment as she gazed at him over her glasses, her head tilting to the side slightly.
What, may I ask, brings you here? You can't expect me to believe that you actually care?
She asked, half teasing, half serious. It wasn't the fact that she didn't want him there, or that somewhere deep inside, and very much ignored to the best of her ability, that she didn't want to see him again, but Aunna honestly didn't know what to think of this man now.

"Of course I care, Major Aunna Borgonia. If you die, I will have lost much of the time, finances, and effort put into coercing your assistance. So, obviously, I care very much and must request you refrain from further actions of that sort."
He smirked a bit, the mischief playing over those shadowed features as he spoke, half-jesting as they both knew.

Despite knowing that his words were only half the truth, Aunna felt a ripple of anger course through her, but kept her features a carefully arranged neutral. She gave a small humming sound of seeming thought, or perhaps disinterest, as she returned her eyes to her papers.
I suppose I shall be seeing more of you in the future then?
Her voice was quiet, but held a hint of coldness to it which surprised even herself, though she didn't show it. Why, all of a sudden, did she care so much? Was it because she now knew that there was more to him than just some nameless, completely evil dark jedi? That there was still some good in him? Was it that they had saved each others lives in the same day?...well, saved being a relative term, he had been the only one really saving anyones life, not her. Was it that small part of her that she refused to listen to, or even acknowledge at the moment? Huffing slightly, she signed the paper before her, then turned to the next one, groaning as yet another dispute form met her eyes.
Honestly, why should she care if she saw him again or not? And why should she care if he was only financially invested in her well being? Wasn't half the republic army's superiors the exact same way? Financially invested in her well being?...or perhaps lack there of. Why should he be any different?
