Sunomi nodded as jade spoke "Indeed we can not." she thought for a moment before standing slowly and replying to jade's offer. "I am a bit peckish, I will gladly join you after you jade."

((wow, when you said "craptacular" you meant it....))
The rear-admiral nodded and led the way out of the room. A few of those on the bridge had already been changed out for the next shift, and more had just arrived on the turbo-lift. Several eyes turned toward the two only to swiftly return to what they were doing previously. Jade chuckled slightly and shook his head, but said nothing about this. He was used to it by now from all those he commanded, as very few of them ever even had the nerve to look at him because of his red eyes and the rumors about him. Stepping over to one of the control panels, Jade spoke to the officer there, who nodded hurriedly. Jade chuckled again and the poor boy seemed to shrink away slightly, to which Jade sighed and shook his head speaking to the young man once more. Returning to Sunomi once again, Jade stuck his hands in his pockets and gazed at the young man he'd just spoken to.
He's only a crewman, barely out of his training, and already he's showing potential...but he won't ever get anywhere if he continues to shy away from his commanders when they ask simple questions....
He mused, his voice a mixture of annoyance and something like disappointment. Honestly, Jade wanted the boy to succeed...he wanted this for his entire crew thus far...but it was difficult when those in your crew were afraid of you because you had worked for the Republic.

Sunomi gladly followed jade down the corridor to the bridge if for no other reason than to avoid the imminent drunken stupor. She sighed lightly to herself as the first entered the bridge she never did seem to know her limits. The hesitation was clear on the crew's faces as they turned to the Admiral and clearly not just from his rank. Jade seemed amused by this chucking about it before steeping down to a young willowy boy. As jade spoke to him he clearly began to shrink back and became more pale to the point Sunomi became concerned that he just may faint. As he stepped back up onto the command dias at the rear he spoke once more his voice laced with disappointment. As she pondered her response a mere few seconds before she spoke she carefully observed the layout of the deck her old training muscle memory by now forcing her to log every choke point and cover. "Well, Admiral, many young crew members have difficulty with dealing with high ranking officers and always the greater the difference the worse it becomes the only way to avoid that tends to be by using small commands." Though they agreed not to use their ranks she was well aware that many commanders would not extend that to while they where around their subordinates. As she looked out the large plasma opening at the front of the deck she could just see the ion glows from the engines of the ships in the main trade lane. "I'm surprised the hutts allowed you this close to their planet much less the trade lane they tend to be a little paranoid."

He nodded slightly, but made no other motion that he had heard a word she had said. The fact was, he had certainly heard her, but had nothing much to say on the matter. He had not been giving orders, simply asking a question. Jade has also noticed the ever so slight slur to her speech, and was almost tempted to tell her to go have a seat before she started to waver, and possibly fall. Chiding himself for allowing himself to even THINK of trying to play the 'nice guy' part, he ran a hand through his hair distractedly.
Yes, as am I. Unfortunately, I cannot say that this was my doing. I was told by the Vice Admiral that all arrangements had been made for the Pendragon to orbit the planet long enough to find our target...and hopefully capture him alive.
Though...to be fair....I don't believe they like us here, since there have been numerous fighters and picket liners around us constantly.
He mused thoughtfully. It was then that the young crewman he'd spoken to earlier walked up to them, seeming to have regained a bit of his composure, a new man at his station.
Sir....I'm the last to have been relieved sir.
Jade smiled and nodded once to the young man, who stood so rigidly at attention.
Good. Thank you for informing me. You're dismissed.
The boy nodded and hurriedly walked away to the turbolift. Turning to Sunomi, Jade offered another smile to her and motioned to the turbolift as well, with a slight bow.
Ladies first....assuming you're ready to leave that is?
He asked politely, though this time, it was not strained at all, but rather genuine. Jade had been trained since birth to be polite to everyone, especially women, by his father and grandfather...and he doubted he would ever manage to break himself of such habits. Not that he really wanted to either.

Sunomi felt her face flush as she waited for jade. That brandy was stiffer than I thought. Lost in the warm feeling of the alcohol coursing though her body she almost missed what jade said. "Hmm, yes the ways of the superior, I swear can't live with'em can't live with out them." In her mild daze it took her several moments before her mind caught up with her words. "Umm, I mean. That iss, heh" she broke off with a nervous smile as the young officer walked up to jade just before he gestured towards the turbolift and spoke. She blushed a little and nodded as she walked to the turbolift and leaned against the side of the tube waiting for him to join her.

Jade chuckled a bit as she spoke, the brandy obviously getting to her. He made a mental note not to give her alcohol again. Despite his curiosity about what she had meant to say, he didn't want her getting herself into trouble because of it...so he decided not to pry. As she moved into the turbolift, Jade followed easily, closing the door behind them. It was empty except for the two of them, and Jade really didn't feel like being recorded. Sighing, he decided to just out and tell her.
Sunomi...would you mind?
He asked. To make his point clear, he motioned to the arm that her recording device was attached to. The lights from the floors they passed made the lift brighten and dim constantly, but Jade didn't bother with this any more...he'd been used to it for too many years now to care. As the lift slowed to a stop, he exited and waited for her to follow before starting to walk down the hallway toward the mess hall. In truth, he hated military food, but because they were near a planet they could restock on, the cooks seemed to be doing a better job of making the food more edible. As the door to the hall slid open, Jade waited for Sunomi to pass through first.
I wish I could offer you something better to eat than the standard military 'mush' they like to dole out, but unfortunately I cannot...or should I say, will not, seeing as it seems rather unfair for me to eat any better than my crew.
The officer's dining hall is just off to the left, over there. Go find a seat and I'll bring you...whatever it is they're serving today.
There was a hint of mild amusement to Jade's voice at the last comment. Honestly, Jade didn't know what they were serving today, and more than likely, once he DID know, he would most likely wish he no longer knew. Mentally shrugging the thought off, he turned toward the various servers and meandered off to retrieve said food substances.

At first even with jade's gesture to her arm she was completely lost as to what he was saying as the pulsing light in the turbo lift caused her pupils to constrict and dilate rapidly. Eventually the move finally managed to pierce her hazed mind that he was speaking about the recording bracelet. Her heart stopped as she realized she had been found out. "ah, I...I...I...um" she quickly snatched of the bracelet as she took a long swallow. "I.." Sunomi had never been happier to get out of a small tube with a man before in her life speaking just after he finished speaking. "Food yes, I'll go find us a seat." She didn't even wait for him to say anything after that quickly scurrying off to a seat located fairly close to the middle of the cafeteria and shrinking down into her seat shifting nervously while thinking "This may not be good."[/color]

Sunomi's reaction was amusing to say the least, but Jade let it go as he wandered over to get the food, ignoring her hurried retreat. Turning his attention to the substances that appeared to be masquerading as steak (more like shoe leather, it was so tough), mixed vegetables of....some kind...(at least he thought they were vegetables, because they looked a bit limp and pale), and mashed potatoes (though these looked a bit...odd...to say the least). It didn't take the man long to retrieve the food and find his way back to the officers dining room. He found her sitting at one of the tables away from the others, and a bit nervous.
No need to be nervous Sunomi...I'm not going to skin you alive you know.
He stated, setting a plate down before her, and sitting in a chair across from her. There was a pitcher of water on the table already, like all the other tables, and he was fine with this selection...but he wasn't sure if she would be.
If you would like something else to drink, there's a table against the wall over there with other choices.
Jade stated, motioning to the wall to their left. With that said, Jade returned his red eyes to the pretty captain.
Now...I would like to know why you were recording me Sunomi.
Jade said, no malice in his voice, just simple curiosity.

"Sure, your not." sunomi thought as jade reassured her as he set down the plate of decent if mediocre naval fair before her and then told her that their were more kinds of drinks on the far wall her eyes following his gesture as he asked why she was recording him. Her face flushed as she looked into his eyes before she nervously bobbed up. "I..I need something to drink would you like something while I'm over there?"

Jade sighed slightly and shook his head no. As she went to get herself a drink, he sat back and gazed at the far wall, thinking about what could have her so nervous. Obviously there was the fact of the recording, but surely she would give him enough credit to know that he most likely guessed it was because of Barj, and not for some other reason. Not only that, but she honestly looked like she felt he would skin her alive. Now, he knew his reputation was gruesome at points, but honestly...skinning someone alive? No. No, Jade would much rather just toss her in the brig for a while and let his superiors deal with her.

"Lets see, orange juice, black coffee, black tea, green tea, hot chocolate, and milk." Sunomi slowly read the list of possible beverages off in her head before selecting a stiff cup of coffee with sugar and milk. she turned and caught sight of jade looking in her general directions and took a long drink of the bitter liquid to settle her nerves before slowly making her way back to their table and slowly sitting down across from them. as she set she kept her eyes cast down at the psudo-steak on her tray as she opened her mouth to speak. "I assume you know exactly why I was recording you." she slowly picked up her knife and fork and cut off a small sliver of the meat dipping it and the potatoes before carefully placing it in her mouth, chewing and then swallowing the salty beefy meat. "Really I was recording it for my own use, but it was still vaguely on orders."

My guess would be Admiral Barj.
He stated simply, eying her as she ate. Personally, he wasn't that hungry, but he stabbed a few of the vegetables on his fork and ate them any way. He'd leave the steak alone for now, and he wasn't sure he even wanted to attempt the mashed potatoes.
However, that's not what I meant by asking you why. I meant, why did he ask you to spy on me? Though I'm fairly certain I know the reason behind that as well.
Jade moved a bit of his hair out of his way before speaking again.
I can't say that I blame him for not trusting me, after all, I am a former Republic soldier, but even so...I feel there might have been more to his mistrust than that.
He mused, stabbing another vegetable and gazing at it thoughtfully.
You know...you make a terrible spy Sunomi. If I'd wanted to, I could have completely lied for that recording...but fortunately for you, it isn't in my character to lie like that.
At least not completely. He thought to himself, giving a mental sigh, though outwardly his features remained the same.

Sunomi laid her knife and fork down as she finished the last of her meal and whipped her mouth with a paper napkin. "My orders came from admiral bajr yes, but they are exactly orders to spy." she sighed and took a second long sip of coffee before leaning back more easily jade's disarming nature finally putting her a bit more at ease. "The admiral would have never given orders that explicit to a long range team. The truth is I am the one that decided to record our conversations and other things so I would be able to give a more reliable opinion on you." She finally leaned forward resting her forearms on the table. "The truth of the matter is Bajr doesn't trust or respect anyone until they prove themselves to him or someone whom he does trust which is why I am here. Bajr seems to have taken enough interest in you that he is willing to send someone in his inner circle to asses your reliability. I can't say I know why he is interested in you it didn't choose to tell me and I lacked the time to find out, but I suspect it has to do with the fact that you are new to the empire with out the claws of the other admirals or the aristocrats in you." sunomi looked deeply in his eyes before continuing. "I am aware I'm not a good spy jade, I was never trained for it, but neither is anyone else trusted by my admiral as such I was the one who was picked for being the easiest separated for the time. I suppose I'm at your mercy as I'm on your ship currently, but I doubt you would like bajr's response if something happened to me, or my men for that matter by your hand." She slowly finished her coffee taking slow measured sips as she waited for jade to reply.

Jade listened patiently, absorbing the new information he was gleaning from the captain. He hadn't meant she had been told specifically to spy on him...only a fool would put that over a communications signal, and he didn't take Barj to be a fool. No, in fact, the Admiral had if anything, gone up in Jade's esteem. He was cautious, perhaps to paranoia, but at least he got things done. As she stated that her team were at his mercy, he chuckled and shook his head.
My my...let's not go jumping to conclusions Captain. I understand the Admiral's point of view, and honestly, it seems he has the right idea...if not a bit...extreme.
He said, glancing to the side slightly as he noticed a pair of officers there. They weren't at the point of arguing yet, but something told him it would happen soon, and turn into a big mess if he didn't stop it right now. Sighing, he stood.
Excuse me...I'll be right back.
He muttered before walking over to the table and looming over the two men sitting there. Both looked up and seemed to be surprised and disconcerted to see him standing there, arms folded across his chest. After a few moments of talking the two men stood and separated, moving to different tables, apparently needing to cool down for a while. With this handled, Jade returned and sat down once more. Pulling his glasses off, he rubbed the bridge of his nose once again. He'd managed to forget about his eyes stinging for a while, but he was swiftly remembering once more.
Where were we...ah yes. I plan on doing nothing to you or your men, so long as I don't catch you trying to sabotage me or my work. I do have my own orders after all. You are welcome to any and all information I have, but if you feel the need to record our conversations...I suggest you just say so instead of trying to hide it. There isn't much anyone can hide from me on this ship.
He told her, setting his glasses aside for the moment. Taking a drink of his water, Jade sighed slightly. Picking up his glasses once more, he pulled a small cloth from one of his pockets and wiped them off before returning them to his face.
Besides...I think you'll find that working with me is much simpler than working around me, and most certainly better for your health than working against me.
He added with a hint of amusement to his voice.

Sunomi smirked a little as jade said extreme just before he stood and interceded into a heated discussion between two officers evidently managing to get them to spread apart before returning to their table. "Impressive" she quipped as he set down and continued speaking. "Unfortunately my secondary orders are also to capture the Dark Jedi and take him to admiral Bajr or kill him if I can't and a fear this is in conflict with your orders." she slowly shook her head "I was hopping to convince you to forgoing your orders and trusting Admiral Bajr to handle your superiors, but I'm not sure from what I've seen that you would be willing to turn on your commanders so quickly."

That was hardly impressive.
He stated simply, and shrugged slightly. Jade hmmed at her words and seemed thoughtful. Yes, this did indeed pose a problem, considering that dark jedi might just get his sister back safely. Now here was a dilemma indeed. When he'd first met the captain and her squad, he'd wanted them gone...dead or otherwise...but now he wasn't so sure. Poking a bit at the only thing left on his plate (the potatoes), Jade shook his head.
This puts me in a difficult situation indeed. I see the benefits of both sides, you see. I'm afraid I'll have to think this over quite a bit before I decide which is the best course of action.
He mused, gazing at the purple haired woman across from him. As if catching himself doing or thinking something he shouldn't, Jade's eyes snapped to the door behind her.
We should get to the bridge.
He stated swiftly, and stood up. Something wasn't right...there was tension in the air around the ship, something not easily felt...or perhaps not felt at all by the others around him. Not even bothering with his plate, Jade strode from the dining room and into the hall beyond, not even waiting to see if Sunomi would follow.

"You underestimate what it can take to halt a fight." she said just before he spoke about his position on their orders. "I can understand that you would have doubts, but I can confirm that Bajr can handle your superiors if it becomes necessary." she added a reassuring smile before he interrupted her telling her they needed to get the the bridge. "What? Why?" she asked as he stood and strolled quickly towards the turbolift. Sunomi bounded up and jogged after him. "Wait!" she yelled barely slipping though the closing doors of the turbo lift.

Jade's eyes were locked on the top of the turbo lift as if it would make them get to the bridge faster somehow. As the neared the bridge, Jade turned his eyes to Sunomi.
Hopefully it's nothing...but I doubt it. We'll see when we get there.
He stated darkly as the turbolift came to a halt and the doors slid open. At first nothing seemed wrong, but Jade had never bothered with that. Walking to the dais he gazed intently out the viewport.
Xavier...has anything unusual come across the sensors recently? Ships? Signals? Anything?
The bothan looked over his shoulder at Jade and blinked for a moment.
No sir...why?
Run another scan please.
Nodding, the bothan didn't bother to ask questions. A few of the newer crew members looked over at Jade as if he were crazy, but it didn't take long for them to think differently.
Sir! Ships dropping from hyperspace to the port side. They're charging weapons.
Shields up, bring us about to face them. Send out three interceptors to cover us.
Jade stated calmly, appeased. Good...things were under control now, as opposed to being caught off guard.
Watch for their targets...and get us out of this lane. Bring us along beside it. I don't want to be blamed for any damage to ships in the lanes.
The crew set to work swiftly and Jade turned to Sunomi.
It seems this is why we've come to the bridge. And lucky for us. If we'd been caught unawares....
He didn't even bother to finish his sentence as a volley of fire hit the side of the ship, causing it to shake slightly.

Sunomi quickly found herself in a whirlwind of activity as the bridge crew began responding to his orders. "Pirates, Jade it would be a good idea to scramble your ships security detail." Sunomi quickly fell into her battle mindset as she bought a comm unit out. "Elgine, get everyone together, kitted up, and ready for further orders." "Yes ma'am."

Jade smiled slightly and his eyes flashed ominously in the lights of the bridge.
Oh I doubt there will be need for that, but I'll do as you say. Better to be prepared, no?
He stated with a touch of humor, before striding over to a com-unit.
Jax, get all security personnel up and out, we might have a few visitors...I'd rather not have them take us by surprise.
Aye sir.
Came the short reply.
Xavier, find their com-signals, I want to...
Sir, they're hailing us...
Jade blinked, mildly surprised, but nodded.
Here's yer warning sith...lower yer shields and give up yer ship or we'll cause enough damage to the ships around ya that the Hutts'll have ya fer breakfast!
Jade sighed and raised an eyebrow. Why did they always want to do things the difficult way?
And here is your warning, pirates. You don't know who you're dealing with. If you value your lives you'll run back the way you came or give yourselves up. Either way, I doubt this will lead to my giving up anything, or anyone having ME for breakfast.
He replied calmly, nodding in the direction of a crew member, by the looks of him a pilot, who had just appeared. Jade gave the signal to cut the feed...which had only been audio...and shook his head slightly.
Bring us between them and the lane and keep us there. Tell the squad leaders to get their men to their ships and be out in five minutes or less. Notify the Hutts of the situation and inform them that we'll do our best to keep the lane protected...I don't want the clan to pick a fight with us as well.
Another round of fire rocked the ship slightly, but nothing Jade was particularly worried about.
Captain, have your crew stand by for now. You're our last resort.
He stated simply, eyes focused on the ships in the lane grouping with their own for more protection.
