I could ruffle more feathers by comparing Luke to a Star Trek character, but Luke existed before him, so the analogy dies there.
But considering the analogy exists in the first place, Han wins by default, but that's really not saying much. I think Cade Skywalker gets the best of both worlds: Asskickery with a lightsaber and the Force, while being a self-serving jerk.

Luke didn't spawn a Sith Lord, he BECAME a minion of the ressurected Emperor Palpatine. He was saved by the "Love" of Han and Leia.
HAN PWNS....AGAIN.
MY VOTE:
HAN-2 LUKE-0

Han Solo ftw
Luke is a bit overestimated i mean he did beat Darth but han got him everywhere if not for Han Luke would be a homeless farmboy captive in someones ship especially after Obi-Wan died

Aaaaaiiiiik.... can I vote for both? xD 'Cause Luke is like, totally awesome in that whole kinda swept-into-a-destiny-too-big-for-you way. I mean, innocent little farmboy to uber-awesome Jedi, while still managing to stay sane... that, and he totally pwned in the Vader Duel.
But, I mean, Han is played by Harrison Ford which gives him automatic awesome. And that whole self-serving-rogue-who-becomes-a-good-guy-on-the-way-but-doesn't-want-anyone-to-know-it makes for an awesome character. I love that scene as he's being sealed into carbonite... Sorry, inner fan-girl speaking.
I mean... they're both so cool... in different ways... *attempts to ponder enigma*
Or...
I vote R2-D2!!

Han, totally. For all of Luke's "uber Force powah" he still cannot even measure remotely close to the coolness that is Han.

Can I vote Bastila? She was hawt. And she was one of the few to master battle meditation. And then she was corrupted through some "shocking" torture by Malak. ;-) Plus, she's hawt. I think I mentioned that.

>_> Double post=fail. Always does.
My vote is for neither. R2-D2 pwns all of them. R2-D2 is the greatest superweapon ever invented. And before you say "R2-D2 wasn't a superweapon" allow me to say this: Who blew up the Eclipse Class Star Destroyer, and the Emperor's cloning lab all in one fell swoop? Eh? Here's a hint: Starts with an R2, ends in a D2.

soooo..... what's the vote count? Between Luke, Han, and random shout outs to R2, Lando and Bastilla, I got confused....
Anyways, I noticed comments about Harrison Ford v Mark Hamill.... Part of me says, "How well would Mark Hamill do if he we President of the United States and some bad guys hijacked his plane. Because, frankly, Harrison Ford gets major BAMF points. If I were to kidnap someone and called to ransom them, and Harrison Ford answered, I would give up.
On the other hand, would Harrison Ford have handled the catapult to fame and the then sudden relative obscurity with the geeky dignity of Mr. Hamill?
Ultimately, the question has to come down to the characters. And, while Han is great, he hasn't single handedly reinstituted and shaped an order that acts in the best interests of the galaxy, frequently at the expense of itself, and convinced several of the most innately powerful beings of the galaxy to serve it.
My vote goes to Luke.

I vote R5-D4, the understated hero of the Original Trilogy.
He was with the Jawas, and he was stuck with them for some time... At his one chance to leave, he sacrifices himself for the Alliance, blowing his motivator (either that or R2 sabotaged it- either way R5's a good character) so that R2 could carry on his mission with C-3P0. He then was bought right before the Sandcrawler went KABOOM, and is known to have been brought to the Alliance by his new owner, a Rebel. He was a Rebel droid, fighting against the tyranny and opression of the Empire. How could he not be a hero worthy of my vote?
