Lab? He was an experiment?! Just the thought made her blood boil...who did anyone presume to be? Experimenting on other races like they were animals? She nodded slightly in reply to his question. Yes, you can trust me...at least enough to not tell your secret...no one should ever be trusted fully. Lia replied, trying to keep her features neutral, though her green eyes glinted slightly in her anger.

Axle nodded and stood, he surprised the waiter who had just returned with the drinks. Waving him away he motioned for the young woman, Lia, to follow. As far as he could tell, if she hadn't killed him yet the chances were that she wasn't going to kill him at all... hopefully his logic worked. Something he had said had gotten to her, there was something about her eyes that betrayed some emotion; only time would tell for sure.
He slowly strode out of the cantina, giving the girl enough time to follow. The sun had almost completely set so the shadows of the buildings was perfect for what needed to be done.

Grabbing her drink from the waitor and downing it, Lia followed the man outside. It was nearly dark by now, and the shadows from the buildings were deep enough for nearly anyone, or anything, to hide in....it was an outlaw's dream. She wasn't quite sure if she wanted to follow this man into the shadowy city or not...at least not yet...though, if he'd been this calm and cooperative about things so far...perhaps he wasn't one of those types who killed first and asked questions later. One could only hope....she'd already had a bout of fighting with one this week....she wasn't looking to have another go.

Axle stepped across the threshold into the crisp evening air, reveling in the depth of the shadows around him. The young woman hadn't exited the cantina yet so he had time to give her a surprise as well as present to her his gift... or was it curse. He stepped into the shadow of the building, concealing himself well from the glare of the streetlights a block away. With a quick snap of the muscle and a little effort, he pushed his wings out from the inside of his tunic, the velcro flaps coming free. Slowly he extended them, almost to their full spread at 14 feet, working out the soreness as well as giving a very dramatic effect. Axle chuckled, he felt a little silly, almost like the Angel of Death when it came to call.

((um, I guess I didn't make it clear that I had followed him outside already...and I suppose I'll just have to ignore Hal's post...sorry bud.))
Lia glanced around the alley for a moment. She had lost sight of the man...Finne as they'd left the cantina, but she was sure she'd find him soon enough. Hearing a slight ripping sound, like velcro coming apart, she turned her head in the direction of the sound. There was movement in the shadows, and a glint of light reflecting off of something silvery white. Tilting her head to the side slightly, Lia walked closer. Seeing the shape of a man, she came slightly closer, until her eyes widened at the sight.
Finne stood there, with, of all things, WINGS coming from either side of his back. Only with long practiced restraint did she keep herself from gaping. Well....this is....certainly more than I expected. she stated, not quite knowing what to say.

((Since you dont understand what im saying I guess I'll just have to go with it.))
Axle paused, shocked. Thoughts of What did he call me? and someone else saw me with my wings out! filled his mind... it was quite obvious what this young man wanted, oh so obvious. He slowly turned his attention away from the young woman, carefully folding his wings back against his back, not inside his tunic, but retracted.
Do you understand the gravity that comes with using that name, young man?
That name had been what he had been called for all 18 years of his life in the lab... simply hearing it again was enough to boil his blood.
All that title symbolizes is the desire of a cadre of selfish men trying to take a person's freedom without logic or reason. I know what you want, you have found me... come get some.
Axle smoothly shifted his stance, delving into the only useful knowledge his time at the lab had given him; the ability to fight without a weapon. He was at a disadvantage to this young hunter, but swords are slow and clumsy; it leaves a lot of the body open to attack. His put up both hands, fists clenched. His options were limited but Axle did have one option that was foolproof... he hoped that this young man truly was a fool.

((Its odd that I cant really get Hal to see that this isnt the thread he was supposed to post on even when I spelled it out for him... sorry man, ill stay with Tal.))
Axle nodded at the girl, her response was a bit more relaxed at his... predicament than he expected but beggars cant be choosy. Slowly he retraced his wings, easing them back against his back, the tops could be seen over his shoulders; this was the most comfortable way to hold them.
While I expected a bit more of a reaction from you, miss; I cant help but say I am relieved. You are the first person I have shown these openly to that isn't dead or blind.
He slowly leaned up against the side of the building, his wings scraping the hard plaster. Plunging his hands into his pockets he took on a more casual tone.
I don't need to be taught how to fight, Lia. They gave me everything I need to know about mortal combat. I wasn't born this way you know, I was created. Corellia was my "home" for as long as I can remember. I lived in that cold sterile place since I was an infant... or so they said. They... the scientists who worked on me had no morals or compassion for human life. Me and my fellow captives were cattle to them. I am one of a mere handful who survived their "tests" and one of two who escaped. I have been out of contact with the other for a year or two now.
Axle sighed, showing only a hint of the emotion behind his eyes.

Italia growled inwardly, but couldn't stop a slight snarl from escaping her. It was people like those 'scientists' that made her glad she was a bounty hunter....not only did she get the satisfaction of killing the bas....braggarts....but she was paid to do it.
So what do you want of me? Help tracking them, or help killing them? Either way I'd be more than happy to oblidge...
She responded, an evil sort of mirth evident in her voice at the thought of giving those dolts the kind of death they deserved.
