Practice Duels' Rules (it rhymes, so sue me)
There are just a number of things that I need to put down, so just read this post before doing anything rash.
Here’s just a few things for you to read:
1. Any characters that partake in these duels are allowed to be used in other threads and events and anything that happens to your character here does not affect them anywhere else across the board as this is a sort of OOC event for your character. But try and stick to your chraracter’s personality.
2. It doesn’t matter if you are against someone who is ahead of you badly, merely use the opportunity presented to you to try and improve your current ability, that way if you should ever meet that person’s character in an IC death match, you’ll be able to surprise them by showing them how much you improved by.
3. To set up a match you must post the character you wish to use in this thread and then somebody should accept your challenge, you must then pm each other to decide how many rounds you would like (unless the first person to post stated how many rounds in their post) (minimum of four rounds).
4. Once that is decided, one person post the number in this thread.
5. You are NOT to create your own thread for your duel, you are to wait for me to start the thread, I will come up with an environment for you to write in and possibly a picture for reference (although I may just choose famous locations).
6. NO completely OOC comments are to be placed up, we need to keep the threads as clear and unclogged as possible. The only completely OOC comments will be mine.
7. Unlike the real death matches, these ones have no time limit but may I ask that you be prompt with your replies as I shall try to do so with my own and pm you if I can’t for some reason.
8. Remember that the last round is basically a finisher but don’t go overboard otherwise you wont gain as many points.
9. Once the duels are over I will lock the threads and leave them to be read over and so you may refer back to previous scores etc.
And now a little help for those who are new to this. I will be judging your posts under these four things, effort, fairness, detail and coolness. Each containing a total of five possible points per round. Here’s an example of how my posts will look (without the details/numbers filled in):
*Round Number*
*User 1’s name*
Effort: /5
Fairness: /5
Detail: /5
Coolness: /5
Bonus: /2
Comments: *Constructive criticism along with things done well*
*User 2’s name*
Effort: /5
Fairness: /5
Detail: /5
Coolness: /5
Bonus: /2
Comments: *Constructive criticism along with things done well*
Total:
*User 1* - *score*
*User 2* - *score*
That is basically all my posts shall be like but please do try and take the advice given as it really does help (well it helped me when I was the one being judged because it’s not often we here in depth thought about our writing from other writers).
And that is it. So, how fancies a try?
NOTE: I recommend that you go for force user vs force user and non-force user vs non-force user.
