Saerith watched the bout between the two fiercest woman she had ever known. Each in their own way. Kabira a fiery woman who fought with passion and heart. Kia who in her own way was also passionate but her strong, fluid motions gave Saerith the impression of wind rather then fire. She fought like a gust sweeping across the moors of some desolate plain. No excitement or fear just a calm breeze moving inexorably onward.
She stood by watching in awe as the fight escalated. Her mouth hung open blaster in her hand forgotten. The movements had a poetry to them that she had never seen before having never been in the same vicinity of a fight for more then a few seconds after it had gotten started, but this was different then a normal brawl. on some level Saerith understood a bond was being formed. Frozen in place she looked on, watching as the Wind fed the Fire.
still slightly dazed it took Saerith a moment to realize that Kabira had spoken to her and a few seconds more before she realized what she said. "hehe... I... Uh think I'll sit this one out" To Saerith's relief Kabira didn't seem all too tore up about her reluctance to join the fight and the younger mechanic turned back to Kia and took up a fighting stance.
so Saerith was quite shocked and most definitely disappointed that her reprieve from Kabiras attention had been temporary. for one moment Saerith was seized with a brave and rather stupid impulse that she couldn't help but act on.A mischievous smile formed amongst her light green facial features looking slightly more sinister then intended with the addition of the tribal tattoo's."Show you what I got?"
The smile deepened as she slowly lifted her hand that held the pistol as if to point it at Kabira but at the point where she should have straightened out her arm to take aim, Saerith instead re-holstered the pistol and took a few steps forward still smiling. "Alright then" Despite her words she made no indication of taking up a fighting stance, which had a lot to do with the fact she didn't really know any. It was at the moment she realized this that her bravery deserted her. "Crap" She said under her breath.
The smile that had been firmly in place for the last few moments died down a little as she recalled Kabiras first lightning quick jab at Kia who had managed to counter. Now she saw herself in Kia's position and could already feel her face hurting. She was now faced with a high probability of her first trip to the med bay.

Kiala was once again watching Kabira as the young woman got to her feet. It was with a smile that she greeted Kiala. The idea of learning to kill with her bare hands seemed to excite Kabira, and Kialas first reaction was to scold the young woman.
"the Idea of killing should never be aproached with any kind of excitement...taking a life is no easy or simple thing. Unfortunatly...Killing is one of those things that gets easier the more you do it"
Kiala held her readied stance as Kabira came in at her and blocked and countered. She had to constantly remind herself to hold back, that this was just training. She had to hold her instincts in check, otherwise, Kabira would have probably been seriously hurt.
As Kabira came in and made the grab, Kiala let her get her hand hold, and then flip her onto her back. As she approached the gound she bent her knee's downward and so that her feet hit the ground first and the shockabsorbers in her cybernetic legs took most of the force from the landing. As Kabira stepped back Kiala placed her hands behind her head, elbows bent upwards and rocked backwards and rolled to her feet.
By this time Kabira and Saerith were already squaring off. It suprised Kiala to see Saer move ahead with a cocky grin, wich quickly faded. Kiala aproached her freing from behind and grabbed her hips. She made Saerith bend her knee'sslightly, and nudged each heel until it was properly placed. She then walked around infront of Saerith and adjusted her hands. Kiala wishpered to Saer the entire time, giving her instructions such as to watch Kabiras waist, as this would provide her the ability to watch both hands and feet.
As soon as she was satisfied that Saer was in a proper stance, she stepped back to watch, fairly sure Saerith had bitten off more than she could chew.

Kabira had taken the chiding in stride when it was offered by Kia. The older woman obviously didn’t understand that her eagerness wasn’t over the idea of learning to kill someone so much as learning to fight but the blond didn’t bother to explain it. She figured Kia would figure that out on her own in time. Kabira might like a good fight but she’d seen enough death to know that killing wasn’t ever something she was looking forward to. A good fight on the other hand was something Kabira not only looked forward to, she relished every second.
The gleam in Saerith’s eye as the woman had accepted the offer had made Kabira grin affectionately at the twi’lek. That grin gave way to a raised eyebrow as the gun was brought up but she was trusting enough not to reach for her own blaster. She didn’t figure Saerith for being the type to be dumb enough to shoot her right outside the base itself and honestly think she was going to live to see another day. Her suspicions were confirmed when Saerith holstered her blaster. Saerith’s smile was mirrored in Kabira’s own but the blond paused in a state of obvious confusion when her ‘opponent’ didn’t strike up any kind of defense. Everything was far too open and Kabira could pick out a dozen targets at least that would lay Saerith down if struck. Perhaps Twi’leks had their own fighting style she’d never heard of before, something truly impressive and sneaky…or perhaps Saerith had no clue what she was doing. The latter was pretty much confirmed when Kia came up behind the other woman and began arranging her into a more defensible position.
Kabira would have felt bad fighting someone with no experience except that everyone had to start somewhere and if Saerith wanted to survive a potential Sith attack, she’d need to know how to fight on her own. Kabira stood up from her ready crouch, dug around in her pockets and pulled out a pair of thick working gloves. She tugged them onto Saerith’s hands and then stepped back again and dropped back to her crouch. She figured the move might confuse Saerith if not explained though. “The gloves’ll protect your hands. People hit harder when they wear gloves because their mind says that the hand is protected so they don’t have to pull the punch any.” It was a trick Kabira’s father had taught her long ago when they’d first started her training. He’d had her hitting fence posts for a while to start and the gloves had helped a lot so she figured it might boost Saerith’s confidence a tad.
Kabira settled into a stable position, her center low and pushed forward so as to be able to keep momentum if needed and prevent being knocked backward. She brought her hands up before her face and smiled at Saerith encouragingly. “Ok…now, let’s see what you got. Hit me.” Kabira wanted to see how hard the other girl really could swing and she had no intentions of blocking the shot. It was better to know what kind of damage the other mechanic could dish out before she went and took her own shot as she didn’t want to hurt the girl if her suspicions were true and Saerith was entirely untrained. Oh she’d still hit her alright, Saerith would need to learn to take a punch, roll with the pain and keep going, but she didn’t want to inadvertently break a bone or something without meaning to.

"Tsk tsk tsk." Loud dissapproving clucks came from the mouth of the handsome figure in the corner. "Cat fights are all good and what not...especially when it's between a pair of mamacitas such as yourselves, but, Kabi, i'm a bit ashamed of you, getting bruises will make Al worry boutcha. You and me both know that, so try and....uh...take it easy." In an instance, Xander was leaning on Kabira's shoulder, leaking pheremones for all to enjoy while projecting the usual hardcore desire that made things interesting. "You have a bit of dirt right here girly." He added as he wiped away a bit of dirt on her cheek with his thumb and then gave her a smile before turning to Saerith. "And you, well...i suppose learning to fight is fine....just don't go too hard on the little one here, she's gotta live to have a certain somebody's babies after all." A small giggle bubbled from his lips as he gave Kabira a small pinch on the butt before going over to Saerith.
With one hand placed on the small of her back and the other caressing her jawline with a single finger, Xander's golden eyes drilled into the beautiful twilek's soul, pulling her in extremely close as if to go in for a kiss before whispering "Me, you, tonight, you in?" With a slightly mischevious smirk, Xander gave her a peck on the cheek before walking past Kiala "Hey hun, take it easy on these two, kay?" And with that, Xander smacked Kia on the butt before putting his hand in his pocket, his other waving goodbye to the trio of women, while whistling a happy tune to himself.

Saerith's heart rate was slowly picking up at her thought's and imaginings of impending injury. The grin having faded completely from her features at this point and her focus turned inward it was no surprise when she jumped at Kia's touch. Despite her trust for the woman physical contact was one thing Saerith did not go in for. Still she forced herself to relax and let Kia guide her into a stance.
About the moment Kia had finished Saerith was glad she couldn't blush visibly because to find herself once more receiving instructions on how to defend herself compounded the idea that she just couldn't do anything by herself. No doubt Kabira was disgusted, Saerith couldn't blame her. At that point Saerith would have given all she owned to be able to fight as well as Kabira.
Almost as if to prove her incorrect Kabira pulled out some gloves and tossed them too her. Saerith caught them out of reflex and looked up to see the other woman assuming a fighting stance. Even though she knows I'm weak she still wants to... Saerith couldn't have explained why but she felt a great rush of affection for the blond mechanic at that moment. Confidence somewhat restored Saerith pulled on the gloves and retook the stance Kia had been showing her and met the other woman's eyes with her own light green ones.
The next moment had her somewhat taken aback. Ups and downs like this were turning into a constant for her it seemed. Hit... You want me to hit you? Saerith asked her making it obvious the concept puzzled her. Clearly Kabira could take a punch but to go out of her and let Saerith hit her seemed odd. a small measure of doubt found it's way back into her head. is she showing me pity? Saerith wondered, but she shoved those thought's aside with an effort of will. Kabira didn't seem the pitying sort.
Despite Kabiras allowing her the first hit, Saerith still felt a certain amount of apprehension. She wasn't very strong and she knew it. Odds are that she wouldn't be able to end it with one hit and after that first shot there were no more deals. Probably this was still going to end with Saerith lying flat on her back with a face that looked a tad different then the one she had woken up with.
Another voice filtered into her ear and even as she looked around to see who it was she thanked the force for delaying the impending beating a little longer. Still she found herself surprised to see Xander walking towards them. Despite herself her eyes flicked around his body. The skin tight clothing didn't leave much to imagine but still she found herself wondering. Quickly enough she cut the thought off with a quick shake of her head. Turning her attention back to Kabira, Saerith was mildly surprised to see Xander already standing there next to her.
Her eyes once again made there way across his body and with an extreme effort of will she pulled them away again. Despite the fact she was pointedly not looking at him, She couldn't help but see his near god-like image in her minds eye. Those perfect white teeth an that grin of his. Once again lost in her own world of thought which was quickly becoming more erotic then it ever had before she once again found herself surprised to be touched. her eyelids flashed open and a quick look found the Zeltron not but inches away from her.
Her lungs froze and a distant part of her mind that wasn't completely absorbed in thoughts of the Zeltron was once again glad she couldn't blush. She couldn't tear eyes away from him anymore. there was no effort of will that could ever make her stop looking into those deep gold rings. Somehow she managed to be mildly surprised when he leaned in as if to kiss but instead asked her to meet him tonight. At the point she was close enough to the edge to suggest meeting him right here and right now instead. But managed to cling to the last dredges of her sanity and instead managed a slight nod.
She barley registered the kiss on her cheek at first. More distressed by his absence then the physical contact at this point. At that moment she realized she had been holding her breath and let it whoosh out of her. Her heart beat furiously in her chest and her head was a jumble of thoughts and emotions that suddenly didn't make much sense but one thing stood out amongst all the background confusion. She was definitely going to meet him tonight.

Kiala watched as Saerith and Kabira squared off, and a small smile found its way to her lips when Kabira tossed Saerith the gloves. It was a good natured gesture. Saerith wasnt a fighter, but Kiala knew she wasnt weak either. You cant be weak when you worked with tools. She had seen Saer lift a cooling coil that wieghed atleas a hundred pounds by herself. Just as the fight was going to start trouble came walking in. If Kiala was happy to see Xander, it didnt show.
She watched in mild annoyance as he talked to Kabira, and pinched the girls rear. For some reason this made Kialas hand's ball into fist. Little did he know she heard everything he said because of the cybernetic implants in her ears. She flushed slightly as his pheremones reached her. He always did this to her, and how she hated it when her body reacted without her permision. Her heart fluttered, cheeks became slightly red, and she felt the urge to walk over and kiss him. Her dicipline got in the way it always did. She didnt mind him asking Saerith out, truth be told she was glad of it.
As he was going to leave he did something she didn't expect, those wretched pheremones again. She had let her guard down, wich gave him a perfect opening to smack her on her butt. She jumped and yelped...then blushed a deep crimson. "Kark it Xander, do that again and I'll break your hand in five places!".She turned her attention back to Kabira and Saerith and leaned against the wall, her arms crossed across her chest, the look on her face daring either Saerith or Kabi to say anything.

Kabira had been braced for the shot from Saerith, uncertain of how powerfully the other mechanic would hit, when she heard the soft clucking from behind her. She didn’t need to turn around to know who that was as her stomach did its normal flopping by way of greeting. Her eyes narrowed considerably as she tried to focus on what they HAD been doing before his arrival. It was the only way she knew of to fend Xander off for any period of time. It bothered Kabira on some level, how easily he could get to her, how anyone else would have long since found themselves under Surge’s care if they tried half the antics Xander did, and yet she couldn’t really bring herself to dislike the man. He was, after all, trying to help her out with Al in his own strange way. Her face flushed brilliant red at the mention of Al and she found herself not even looking at her new companions as she tried to hide how much those words had affected her. How silly would she look if the other two more beautiful women knew about her ridiculous crush on Al? With women like them around, her own aspirations for romance were sorely dented. Why would Al, with his perfect smile, strong arms, and gorgeous hair want a scruffy little girl when there were other options?
“Yeah, yeah. Shut up, Xander,” she muttered under her breath. Her fighting position relaxed a bit as she realized he wasn’t going to just wander off so easily only to have her muscles tense involuntarily again as Xander suddenly leaned on her shoulder. She froze like a hunted animal as Xander’s deep rhythmic voice curled close to her ear and his fingers brushed her jawline. Oh how she wished her body would just learn to ignore that man. Instead, her heart was pounding so hard that she could hear the rush of blood in her ears and her hands clenched into tight fists as she tried to reign in that strange desire she had to turn and kiss him any time he was nearby. Kabira’s eyes went wide as saucers at Xander’s comment on her having Al’s babies and she stood there with open mouthed shock, gaping like a fish out of water, as her throat went instantly dry. “I…that…..you…….I…....gonna…..kill….you….” she fumed as her whole body tensed like an angry viper. The tension was replaced by a surprisingly high pitched yelp when her butt was pinched and she even went so far as to draw back her fist, fully prepared to lay Xander out across the sand but he had already moved quickly away to stand before Saerith.
Kabira watched with a heavy frown while Xander worked his magic on the other mechanic as well but in honesty she was grateful that it wasn’t just her who was so affected by his presence. No one had yet truly explained the pheromone thing to her so she didn’t understand that the betrayal of her own skin wasn’t her fault but it was reassuring none the less to know that he was affecting Saerith just as much. They would make a cute couple, she thought idly as he walked off and she had to stifle a snicker at the look of indignation on Kia’s face when he slapped her on the butt. The man had no boundaries at all apparently and it was going to get him into trouble at some point if he wasn’t careful. The look on Kia’s face was mirrored quickly in Kabira’s as she sent her own non-verbal message to the other two women that it would not bode well for either one of them to say so much as a word about what Xander had said to her. “Enjoy him while he’s still pretty,” Kabira growled to Saerith, “cause next time I see him, I’m decking that cocky bas****.”
Kabira sighed heavily, shaking her head to get Xander’s voice out of it before striking up her fighting stance again. “Ok, girlie. Distractions aside, you’re not gettin’ off that easy. Now swing at me. I wanna see you get a feel for delivering a blow.”

(This is terrible I know but I'm sick and I love you both so much I decided to post anyway)
Saerith stood her arms hanging limp at her sides, a glassy eyed stare off into the distance. It took her more then a few seconds to shake off her daze enough to realize Kabira had ever intention of continuing the fight. A quick shake of the head and she turned meeting the blonds gaze with a half apologetic, half embarrassed smile. "Right... Yeah... I... Sorry about that." with that she resumed roughly the stance Kiala showed her.
Closing her eye's she took a deep breath. Her lekku twitched ever so slightly as she attempted to refocus. thought's of Xander, Kabira and pain swirled around in her mind and no matter how she tried she couldn't get ride of them. Even know she could see Xander leaning in close and then Kabiras fist getting even more intimate with her face. "Just... Just gimme a second" she told Kabira somewhat breathlessly.
Shaking her head slightly so that her lekku flopped on her back making contact with her new Basked once again reminding her of it's presence. With that she remembered why she was going to get beaten to a pulp by someone who she liked. Because eventually someone she didn't like would try and they wouldn't stop. Her mind grabbed unto that realization and clung to it like a lifeline forcing her mind to stop wandering to thought's of Xander and getting hurt.
her eye's opened and she locked them with Kabiras. Now was the time. She wasn't exactley sure how to punch but she had seen it happen more then a few times. Best to just follow what she had for an example. Using the agility a lifetime of running and dodging had given her she stepped forward while cocking her arm back.
as fast as she could Saerith brought her first forward lifting her leg and torquing her midsection half through glimpsed examples and half by instinct her arm shot outward in a hook motion. it was at this point that her brain screamed at her that despite hurting her opponent a strike like that to someone head would probably hurt her hand more. Knowing it was to late to avert the action even if she had wanted too, Saerith did the only thing that occured to her. She closed her eye's hoping not seeing her fist colliding with Kabiras face might lessen the inevitable pain.
She waited for the pain to blossom among the knuckles of her right hand but it never came. Forcing her eye's open just in time to see her fist finish out the hook less the an inch from Kabiras face, Saerith realized she had made a mistake. Disappointing but not surprising. Before she really had time to think on it however the inertia of the blow jerked her around so that her back was now to Kabira. Not sure what exactly had happened she began to stumble backwards her left leg catching behind her right.
Saerith landed on her butt at Kabiras feet facing the wrong direction still not entirely sure how she had gotten there. If her skin had been lighter Kia would have seen she was blushing. She had never wished she could sink into the ground as much as she did now.

Kiala saw her reaction mirrored on Kabira's face, Saerith was a entirely different story. She seemed quite please, and a little distracted. She decided to switch to her thermal site, and indeed found Saerith was blushing. Kiala smirked, maybe if Xander ended up in a serious relationship he would leave her alone. The again, maybe not, it was Xander after all.
Kiala watched Kabira and Saerith. Apparently Kabira wasnt about to let Saerith get away so easily. As Kiala watched Saerith take her stance again, she had to resist the urge togo over and correct her. She didnt want to emdarass her any further. Unfortunately for Saerith, she seemed to be able to do that all by herself. She knew the angle of the punch was all wrong the moment Saer began her to swing her arm. It would have been a good solid punch if she would have just stepped forward half a foot.
Somthing hapened that Saerith had never heard before. Kiala started to laugh, and honost to the Force laugh. It was short lived with a look of suprise, and some confusion crossing Kialas face imediatly afterwards. She couldnt remember the last time she had actualy laughed. A frown crossed her face as she leaned against the cliff face. She was lost deep in thought, images of her parents coming to mind, of her and her father playing 'Rancor and Bantha'. She remebered laughing then. That was the last time, because not an hour later her parents were dead.
Kiala was brought back from her thoughts by a lowd noise, and the flap of wings. A slightly muffled 'Caw Caw' echoed off the cliffs as a black bird decended and landed secuerely on Kialas left shoulder. She turned her attention the raven. "Hello Prudii, and what have you brought today??", Kiala asked the bird, holding out her right hand, just under the birds beak. Prudii dropped somthing shiney into Kialas hand, before turning her strnage lavender eyes on Saerith and Kabira. Kiala glanced down at the object finding herself holding a silver chain. She strugged before putting it into her pocket.

((I thought it was hilarious, Hax. XD Thank you!!))
Kabira braced herself for impact, her eyes locked on Saerith’s form as the Twi’lek readied herself but right away she could see that the woman wasn’t standing in a good fighting position, her previous one having been thrown off by Xander. A frown tugged at one corner of her mouth as Saerith swung and she didn’t flinch when the wind from the passing fist ruffled her hair but she did take a step back when the other woman stumbled and fell at her feet. Kabira blinked down at the green-skinned woman below her in something between confusion, amusement, and disbelief before finally settling on amusement. The chuckle started somewhere below her ribcage and built until it bubbled up from her lips. Soon enough, the young woman was cackling loudly, her body bent in half and her hands coming down to brace herself against Saerith’s shoulders so she didn’t fall straight over into the sand.
“Th-The look on y-your face….Oh FORCE is that funny,” she gasped as her eyes started to brim with tears of laughter. It had been a while since Kabira had really laughed that hard but then it had also been a while since she’d been around anyone who wasn’t capable of kicking some serious butt in a fight. She could hear Kia’s own laughter as well though it was much shorter lived and after a few moments, the mechanic managed to get a grip on her hilarity. She gasped a few short breaths and then grinned down at Saerith. “Oh don’t worry. It isn’t THAT bad. Let’s try this again.” With that, Kabira reached under Saerith’s arms and hoisted the other woman back to her feet. She didn’t have much concern or thought really over whether such contact might make the Twi’lek uncomfortable since she had found herself suddenly feeling a great deal more affection for the woman. She couldn’t stand weak people but the fact that Saerith was even willing to TRY said a lot about the strength she had hidden inside. Kabira was now determined to get it out.
Once her ‘opponent’ was back on her feet and had been twirled around to face her again, Kabira smiled and patted her affectionately on the shoulder. “Ok, now, let’s give this another try, shall we?” Kabira re-positioned Saerith, pointedly ignoring any protests the other woman might give, and then walked back around to face her. “Now watch,” she said brightly. Kabira mirrored the stance she’d put Saerith into and then cocked back her fist. “Your feet shouldn’t leave the ground. That’s why you’re losing balance. Watch me close.” She twisted back her torso to cock her fist into a good position and then slowly swung it forward to show Searith how the motion should go. She stopped the move as soon as her balled fist touched Saerith’s cheek but the entire thing had been done slowly enough to not actually cause any harm and the touch was gentle. As Kabira had swung, her whole body had twisted and the fist moving forward seemed more the end result of the rest of her body twisting than because she had forced her arm out. The move would have allowed the young woman to take all the power of her body and throw it into the strike had she been doing it faster.
“Now,” Kabira said, getting back into her original position, “Try again.” After a moment’s pause, Kabira scooted a little closer to the Twi’lek. At least this time, she wouldn’t need to take a step forward to hit.

Saerith's misery increased ten fold as the other woman began laughing at her. Even Kia which was definitely a sign of how poor Saerith had done. So Saerith sat and moped for a few seconds pondering as to how her life would go on past this point and she had only just started attempting to gather the motivation to stand when Kabira had pulled her too her feet. still to caught up in her own dismay at her first horrid attempt at punching someone to care about the physical contact, Saerith made no argument.
"...again!?" Saerith said after a Kabira had arranged her once again in a fighting stance and mimed the correct method to punch. 'this woman doesn't give up' Saerith thought to herself. Despite everything her her brain and gut telling her it was time to bow out before she did further damage Saerith brought her arm back exactly like Kabira had shown her.
A quick deep breath and Saerith turned her upper body tensing all her muscles. A brief moment of reflection on everything that Kabira had shown her and then she uncurled her upper half like a tightly wound spring. Her right arm Hooked outwards and this time she knew it was going to hit.

Once again Kialas attention turned to Saerith and Kabira. Prudii started to preen her feathers, seemingly ignoring everyone completely. Kialas eyes stayed fixed on Saerith. She felt sympathy for the other woman. She remembered the first time she had tried to hit her instructor, she had messed up just as badly if not worse. Then again, she had been a child at the time. Kiala noticed Kabira had more of a boxing style where as she herself used C.Q.C. Kabira had learned to fight to protect herself..were as she...she had been trained to kill.
She smirked as Kabira helped Saerith up,"Dont worry Saer..I messed up the first time I tried to hit my teacher...she was conciderable less gentle than Kabira is...after that session, I needed a kolto treatment..", she tapped a scar just above her left eye."I needed regular treatment while under the tutalage of Kalla Fet".
Kiala watched Saerith line up , and cock her arm back, and swing for the punch. It was then Prudii decided to make herself known again by letting out a loud 'KAW'

Kabira had braced herself for the blow, she knew that there was almost no way Saerith was going to miss this time and so she’d set herself and prepared for impact as best she could…right up till that stupid bird had screamed. Kabira’s attention was drawn to it for only a moment but it was enough to catch her off guard and instead of presenting Saerith with her jaw, she’d turned her head just a fraction in Kia’s direction and caught the swing full across the face instead. She felt the skin on her lip split when the punch connected and her mouth filled with the coppery tang that said she was going to be spitting out blood shortly. The whole left side of her face went numb for a moment as she stumbled back a few steps. It hadn’t been a hard enough blow to knock her off her feet or anything but Saerith hadn’t held back and the other mechanic was certainly strong. Kabira’s face scrunched for a fraction of a second before she was shaking her head to clear the pain out.
She blinked for a moment and scrunched up her nose a few times to make sure it wasn’t broken before smiling back up at Saerith with a look that said she was infinitely proud of the other girl. She could feel the trickle of warmth slipping down her chin from where her bottom lip had split wide open and the warmth spreading over her top lip told her that her nose was bleeding too but it didn’t much matter to her. She’d had much worse in other fights and she was simply thrilled instead that the blow had been as good as it had. “See!” she said jovially, pausing to spit out a thin red line of blood into the sand, “That was a good one. Ok, now…my turn. You need to learn to take a hit as much as give one. Less to be afraid of if you know what it’s gonna be like ahead of time.” Kabira reached into her pocket and withdrew a dirty rag to wipe dismissively at the blood seeping down her chin. “Don’t worry,” she said brightly as she stuffed the rag back into her pocket, “I won’t aim for the face.”

The Impact of the blow traveled up Saerith's arm, assuring her that this time she had connected. Still it felt wrong somehow not that she would actually know but one glance at Kabira's face told her that she hadn't hit where she intended. Her first concern was for Kabira but before she could even ask if she was alright, pain shot through her hand. Her finger's half curled reflexively as she grabbed unto her wrist with the other hand. this did little to alleviate the pain however and Saerith was stuck in place eye's held tightly shut her mouth a grim slash.
"Oh Force this hurts." She said half confirming it to herself and half telling the other two woman. With that she forced her eye's open and brought her hand up to her eye's to get a closer look. Nothing looked wrong but that didn't change the fact that it felt wrong. Slowly she moved each finger through it's full range of motion until she had determined that none of them were broken.
She had been listening to Kabira the whole time she inspected her hand. As much as she didn't like it she knew that Kabira was right, She did need to learn how to take a hit. Taking up the stance Kabira had shown her this time perfect as she had memorized the positioning the second time she had been shown Saerith nodded to Kabira. "Better do it quick" Hopefully her nerve wouldn't fail her at the last second. One embarrassing moment was enough for today.

It was obvious enough that Saerith was nervous and Kabira tried to give her a reassuring smile utterly forgetting the fact that it might look a tad less than comforting considering the blood on her face. “I’m gonna aim for the stomach, ok? To take the punch, you wanna tense all that muscle as tight as you can, take a deep breath, and when I hit you, blow out as hard as you can. That will lessen the impact some.” The advice was sound, she knew, since she had used it on multiple occasions. Her father had long ago taught her that trick and it had never failed her but it would be up to Saerith to put it into effect. The young blond settled herself and waited until it looked like Saerith was ready for her. Then, she pulled back her right arm, keeping it tight against her side with her elbow back behind her and her fist lined up against her hip. Her left arm went out to Saerith’s shoulder to help steady the girl so she didn’t accidentally move in a way that would cause more damage than Kabira intended and she offered her fellow mechanic a quick, affectionate squeeze. “Ready?” she said brightly.
Once satisfied that Saerith was indeed prepared, or at least as much as she was going to be, Kabira let her muscles tighten and then explode into action. Her right fist shot out like a dart in one swift short motion and she felt the impact ripple up her arm. Her aim had been true and she’d caught Saerith right below the solar plexus. Satisfied that they’d traded blows appropriately, Kabira took a step back. She and Saerith had just completed a bonding experience as far as she was concerned and her affection for the twi’lek grew. It was one thing to give a beating and entirely another to take one. Both were signs of strength. “That’s not TOO bad, right?” she beamed down at Saerith and patted the woman on the back.

Saerith absorbed the advice like a sponge would water. Anything to make this less painful then it had to be. She found herself thankful while Kabira gave her time to prepare for her first real fight. Most time's she would have been long gone before this happened and she had to admit not running now was absorbing a vast amount of her willpower. The only thing that had her still standing there was the fact that she trusted Kabira... and she had a debt to pay. Couldn't take a shot and not expect one in return. the Rules of a fight.
Saerith took the breath in deep as Kabira placed a hand on her shoulder. to steady her or to make sure she didn't try to move away Saerith didn't know but she guessed it was the former judging from the slight pressure Kabira exerted on her shoulder. No doubt a gesture meant to reassure her but Saerith couldn't help being a little afraid. Intentionally subjecting herself to pain was not something she did often. For a moment green eye's met blue and then Kabira moved.
Saerith wasn't very experienced when it come to close quarters combat but she wasn't slow and she had ever intention of following Kabira's earlier instruction. Even as she felt the impact her mouth opened and the air rushed out aided by the force of the blow. It still hurt but she guessed not as much as it would have otherwise. Still she stumbled back a few steps and wrapped her arms around her midriff "Definitely not the most pleasant thing I've ever experienced. she half wheezed.
If Saerith had to guess not following Kabira's instructions would have meant that she would now be lying on the ground. "So what now? do we uh... have it out?" Saerith doubted she would like the answer to that question but they had come this far already so why bother putting it off. Getting the crap beat out of her wouldn't be fun at first but that hopefully not be the case after awhile. Certainly Kabira had year's of experience on her but Saerith wasn't stupid. She would learn... she hoped.
Deciding she shouldn't be asking Kabira if they were gonna fight while hunched over Saerith straightened up and forced herself to let go of her still hurting stomach. A quick glance at Kabira's blood covered face made Saerith hesitate . "Actually... maybe we should wait until you get that fixed. I didn't mean to do that, I'm sorry.

Saerith had taken the blow better than Kabira had honestly expected and she smiled like a proud parent at the other mechanic. The twi’lek learned quick and that was good considering that doing anything slow in the DLA was a good way to get killed. The blond waved a dismissive hand at Saerith’s apology and grinned at her after spitting another small glob of blood into the sand. “Hey, don’t worry about it. That was a beauty of a shot. You oughta be proud of that one.” She would have been more than happy to keep going with the fight as there was nothing quite as good for bonding in her opinion as wrestling someone to the ground and making them tap uncle while you threatened to dislocate an arm, but the look on Saerith’s face said she’d had more than enough for one day. Kabira would have to toughen her new friend up some if Saerith was going to keep up with the rest of the DLA.
For now though, Kabira was willing to be lenient on the other mechanic. At least she’d been willing to try trading blows and the fact that she had even suggested a further fight was good enough for now. It showed a lot of heart to take a hit and still want to keep going. “Nah, let’s head back in to the garage. I’ve got a few kolto patches stowed that Surge doesn’t know about,” she said as she jerked her head toward the open hanger behind her. “I got a few cold beers in the mini-fridge too if you want one.” The offer was made loud enough do that Kia would know it was an invitation open to her as well though Kabira didn’t wait for an answer. She figured that would let Kia either accept or bow out gracefully as she saw fit without having to make excuses if she didn’t want to.
After hunting about for a few moments and finally plucking her hat from the sand, Kabira made her way back into the hanger and shuffled over to a large gunmetal gray locker set against one wall. It had seen better days, its sides dinged and scratched heavily, but it was good enough to suit the needs of the mechanics that worked there. She popped open the farthest door and rifled around for a few minutes, her whole upper half disappearing into its depths before finally returning triumphantly with a small green tinged patch in a day-glow orange wrapper. She peeled the wrap open as she walked and dabbed at her bottom lip with the thick pad she pulled out. A thin layer of light green fluid was left in its wake but the bleeding stopped almost instantly. She wiped it over her nose as she knelt before the tiny refrigerator near her workstation before pulling out two cans of brew. One she tossed to Saerith regardless of whether the woman wanted one or not, and the other she popped open and took a big swig from. “OH GUH….EWWW.” Kabira coughed and made a sour face as the green medicine on her top lip mingled with the alcohol. “Kolto and beer don’t mix.”

Kiala had stood by and watched without coment as Saerith and Kabira traded blows. She couldn't say why, but for some reason she had already decided she liked the tuny blonde woman. Perhaps it was her open and friendly nature. Maybe her inate curiousity. Possibly it was somthing deper in the fact that her own mother had been a mechanic. Then there was the possability that they were both orphans.
She was honestly suprised when Saerith asked if they should continue to fight. Prudii cawed once more and Kiala calmly reached up and stroked under the ravens chin to keep her silent. It had promised to be a long and boeing day until Saerith and Kabira had decided to show up. First Saer asking to be trained, then Kabira coming along and he and Kialas brief fight, though it handt realy been much of a fight one way or the other, for neither of them had been sriously injured. Instead of them glowerin at one another as would have been the norm in most situations like that.
When the offer was made for a beer, Kiala hesitated. She had never been a drinker, the alterations made to her made it hard for her to get drunk...she had dank an entire bottle of whiskey by herself once, just to see what it would be like, and had only been slightly tipsy as a result. After the brieest of pauses, Kiala put on her jacket, and picked up her sword and a a metal case she had sitting near by. The case had three seperate visible lockss, one a key pad, one a combination, and a plain old dead-bolt style lock on it. She also picked up her thermus. She followed Saerith and Kabira into the hanger.
Once inside Kiala decided to forgo the beer and instead poured herself a fragrent cup of tea.

Relief flooded through Saerith as Kabira informed her they were done for now. Getting punched was not how she had planned to spend her day. "Back to the garage sounds good to me." Although she was a little hazy on the drink part. Alcohol impaired your ability to think and therefore escape if it was necessary.
Still she followed the other two woman back up to the garage and against her better judgment accepted the drink that was tossed to her. "I've never liked this stuff much." she informed Kia and Kabira while staring apprehensively at the bottle in her hand.
Still giving the bottle a considering glance she weighed the risks, likely a single drink wouldn't have any real effect and the odds of being attacked while slightly higher then the average citizens were still not every high. Making a decisions she popped the bottle open and took a swig which she almost immediately spewed out as she tried to swallow and laugh.
They don't huh?" Saerith asked leaning over so as not to get any of the beverage on down her front. Saerith grinned at Kabira "I'll remember not to mix the two in the future then." With that she set the beer down carefully avoiding taking another drink until she was sure nothing funny was going to happen.

Kabira chuckled loudly at Saerith’s reaction to her comment. The wasted ale was sad but at least it had been humorous to watch its owner spit it all over the place while she tried not to choke on it. The young mechanic made her way over to a work table near the two women and without further ado she hopped up to sit on it, her boots dangling a good foot off the floor. “So,” she said casually, “I haven’t had much chance to get to know either of you guys. How long have you known each other and what brought ya to the DLA?” Kabira leaned back on one arm and took another swig of her ale, careful to keep it well away from her top lip. This involved her tipping her head back and trying to aim the spill of liquid into her open mouth without spilling it all over the place. She managed this feat fairly well all things considered and then beamed proudly at the other two women.
It was odd for Kabira to have friends like this. She’d been very much alone for most of her life with the notable exception of her father. While it was true she’d grown up on the farm around the whole Sampson clan, she’d never had much chance to play with the other kids. Her father had relied on her too much to help him and she wouldn’t leave him out of worry he’d be lonely. There had been times when she’d wished she could go out on adventures with the older kids like Mo and Dutch and, of course, Al, but she’d always stayed back to help her father out with a new carburetor or a rehaul of some turbine that had become jammed. Her small hands had aided greatly in reaching tiny parts without the added effort of tearing apart the whole machine, something that had saved her father quite a bit of time and effort. Now she was older, her fathers, both surrogate and biological, were gone and the only family and friends she had left were the members of the DLA. She trusted them all, with a few exceptions, based simply off the fact that Dutch trusted them and that was good enough for her. For whatever reason, he’d chosen to trust these two women and that, as far as Kabira was concerned, practically already made them family.
