For once, Nirisi found herself brought up short. Her saber stopped moving and she stared at this man. Had he really just offered what she believed hehad?
Her mind churned, processing different ideas and motives. This man had, to all appearances, just offered to school her: an interesting proposition, for certain, and one that promised to be interesting, at the very least. She considered for a moment, taking in the man's demeanour. He seemed utterly sincere, no hint of self-serving interest...on the surface, at least.
"What do you mean by that?" she asked, looking for confirmation of her suspicions of his meaning.

A man must always have a backup plan. An apprentice would be just that. A pupil in which he can confide knowledge, one he could nurture and tend to. This of course would not involve such kind means, it would be difficult and grueling for his student. Especially his student. There would be no mercy in the training this one would receive, but if he could succeed, he would have an acceptable puppet and in some sense of the word, partner. Not only this, but the nagging sensation he had about this prospect would go away.
I mean that I will accept you as my apprentice, if you are willing.
An apprentice. He'd been here for only so long and already he was about to train another. He'd come to Korriban for answers, and instead found himself here to give answers... and training. Some long lost part of him almost relished the opportunity to become the teacher his past mentors had been. There would be no patience, but the wisdom and thought of Remble, and there would be no betrayal... certainly no betrayal, but no mercy and much power passed on through him through Master Black. This pupil will take on Jack's own skill, power and knowledge, a small price for him to pay to receive an ever loyal warrior in whom he could trust. And if he couldn't trust her, he would find out before it was too late. There will be no mercy.
Understand, however, that if I am betrayed, if I am insulted, if I am in any way negatively affected by any mistake or decision of yours, know this: The repercussion will be dire. Loyalty to me, however, will certainly beget the power that you seek.
