Hey Jace, is it alright if I get Zarik Herx to tag along with the Spec Ops for a bit until he gets dragged away to the Blood Pack?

Yeah of course, though it may be a little late to jump into the current thread. I will try to come up with some mission for those who aren't in the current one. Of course any suggestions are always welcome.

Well if a few people are interested I wouldn't mind starting a training/sparing/BullS**T thread for the mandos, I would like to ease Ark back in with some None combat/light combat stuff.

Hey, Jace, I'd appreciate an answer to my question about the Shogun thread. Are we just leaving it unfinished, or what? I'd just like to know.
I was gonna post again, but I don't want to waste the time if it won't matter.
I'm wondering the same about the New Leader/promotion thread.
Zark, we're currently running a mission on Togoria. That's really the only active Mando thread.
And if you start a thread with Ark, I might be interested to toss in Ambria.

oh my bad guess I missed that...Umm both of those were never really meant to be long threads, more of a formality and something to fill the gap between Shogun and current missions. its basically done, that. I doubt ill be posting there again, and it doesn't look like others really are either.
I think Mara basically answered your question Zark.
@sard, either wait till I think of a mission or try to throw your charrie somewhere else until I do.

So I'm curious. Considering the last post in this thread seems to have been back in 8DEC10, what is there plot-wise for a Mandalorian to do? I've been lurking around the planets and haven't found anything to really do. >_>

I was planning a mission to a nearby world of some strategical significance to us, but I'm still waiting to receive word back from Jace. I sent a PM just after I joined. Still nothing.
If I don't get one, you're more than welcome to join the thread after I start it. It shouldn't take very long, but at least it's something. After that, I have a few more ideas we could pursue. I suppose we'll see.

We are kinda in between major plots right now so there isn't exactly a thread to jump in to. A good amount of our Mando PCs went inactive so its been a little slow. If you want a mission then you can just post here requesting one or suggesting your own one and try to gather some of the others. corden, I replied to your PM

We could always have the Mand'alor do some posts about getting forges back into action, since apparently the last known Bes'uliik was stolen, using those blueprints, MandalMotors should probably start firing up the War Forges again >_> Just a suggestion.
Anyway, since there is nothing yet, I started a Meet and Greet type one, then maybe we can discuss Corden's plan ICly, and have this discussion lead to a mission there, you know? That way we have IC reasons for our characters knowing each other and being involved.

Unfortunately, my original idea was turned down, as ysalamiri pose a threat to Force sensitives and have thus been banned. When I figure out a plot that benefits the Mandalorians but doesn't pose a threat to Force sensitives, I'll be sure to post it. Yes, that was sarcasm.
All sarcasm aside, I should be able to come up with something fairly simple that doesn't directly involve any tactical or strategic move on our part to counter one of our most powerful opponents. Maybe farming. Damn, did it again. Sarcasm...

A few planets that would likely be of interest to the Mandalorians, while not in the immediate vicinity of the Mandalore Sector, would be Togoria (Mandalorian aligned warriors), Charros IV (advanced technology design/production), Ambria (resource mining world), Manaan (kolto, a less effective alternative to bacta).
These worlds are relatively close together, allowing a single, small fleet to easily navigate from one world to the next. With Dxun in close proximity, the area would quickly become a large territory gain for the Mandalorians and give a substantial boost in available resources, allowing us to expand our fleet and ground forces extensively.
Each planet poses little threat to our forces, so I propose we start from the worlds furthest from Dxun and work our way inward. Manaan and Charros IV would be the first targets, then Ambria and Togoria, with the surrounding minor systems eventually falling under our control through shear proximity.
I'd like Corden to command the Manaan strike group, then move on to Ambria from there. If possible, another commander could lead a second strike group to secure Charros IV simultaneously, then move on to Togoria.
The inhabitants of Charros IV should be easy to convince. They view the creation of advanced technology like many religions view prayer. To them, they are glimpsing the afterlife through their creations. Allowing them to produce and improve on one of our most successful war machines, the bes'uliike, will be the key to our success. With the faintest suggestion, they could easily be convinced that producing and improving such an infamous machine is one of the highest forms of worship. They will beg us to let them produce the bes'uliike if everything is played out correctly. If not, we take their planet and its valuable factories by force.
Ever since the creation of bacta, Manaan has lost its spotlight as an economic power. It was once the sole producer of the most advanced healing solution in the galaxy, but no more. By approaching them with an offer to buy exclusive purchase rights for kolto, we can flood their world with off-world credits and resources and return them to some semblance of their former glory. In the process, we will have gained a source of healing technology that is not controlled by the Republic or Sith Empire, unlike Thyferra and bacta. We can sell kolto to the Sith and use it when our own bacta supplies run thin.
Just a few ideas...

Wait. Seriously? Ysalimir are BANNED? What the hell? That's a load of crap! Might as well ban Crtos- Oh wait, they did that too. Seriously >_>
Anyway, beyond the obviously force-centric tendencies that seems to plague the staff here:
It seem you've done your homework, and that's a really good thing. I've been trying to start RPs to get more active Mandalorians, but not many people are interested, so I'm moving it to Concord Dawn to appease those who are.
As for the Charros thing, Vhe'tra would be glad simply playing diplomat or fighting under someone's command with a small amount warriors to lead. He's mostly centered around small strike teams rather than large forces, since his clan isn't very big to begin with.
Both ideas seem very good, and seem like they'd work well along with the tactical lay-out of the fleet movements. I can't access the map very well due to my predicament, but in a week and a half I will be in homeport once again and able to get more head-on with researching planet backgrounds and coming up with plans.
Hopefully we get SOMETHING approved, I mean, what do they expect us to do? Just because we don't want to play peace-mongering, finger-wiggling, lightstick-waving warrior monk wannabes, we're not allowed to actually DO anything?

Yeah! Might as well ban that magic mando metal stuff too! Oh wait...
Ysalamir are banned because Talon Karrde's people (who live 3600 years in the future) were the first to figure out how to transport them off-planet without killing them. So unless you are actually on Myrkr there aren't going to be any ysalamir around.

Ysalamir are banned because Talon Karrde's people (who live 3600 years in the future) were the first to figure out how to transport them off-planet without killing them. So unless you are actually on Myrkr there aren't going to be any ysalamir around. That's a long time in the future. Seeing as how we've already changed a lot of the canon storyline with our own characters, factions, and events, I didn't think having someone research and discover a way to take them off-world would be a problem. Even if we were to preserve that part of the storyline, its still possible that they were used in this time period but the method or technology to keep them alive was lost later on, only to be rediscovered by Talon Karrde. It wouldn't be the first time in Star Wars history. Take cloaking devices for example... in this era they may be more commonplace, but just before the New Order era, that technology was all but forgotten. It didn't become well known again until Grand Admiral Martio Batch began more extensive research into ship-based cloaking devices. Don't get me wrong, though. I'm not arguing. That's why I already moved on with my previous post in this thread with new ideas... the topic was broached once more, so I responded.
