Star Wars Universe Awards 2008

Hello there ladies and gentlemen, it has been a busy year here at SWU. Sith Lords have risen to take control of the galaxy, the Jedi Order has lost both its highest ranking members to the darkness and with worlds divided, war has descended upon the Universe. Yet none of this would have been possible without the members of SWU, we would have no foundation with which to build this story, no characters to makes us laugh, cry, cringe or fear. And so these awards are for you, the members of Star Wars Universe, and your characters, the heart and soul of our Galaxy.

How does it work? All you have to do is respond with your own votes, use Iota's response as an example, leave a comment as well if you want. Although remember you can’t vote for yourself or one of your own characters. The results will be tallied up a few days after the New Year has begun.

Character Awards:

Best Character:
Best character is the award given to the character that is the most original, most thought-out, and most realistic. Simply the best character on the boards.

Coolest Character:
Each character has their own air about them, but which is the coolest? The one which has a certain air about them which just makes you stare in awe.

Strongest Non-Force User Character:
If you like a good fight scene, this is the award for you. In this Galaxy there are a flurry of characters all seeking to prove their worth, best their opponent, but who do you think is the best combatant?

Strongest Force User Character:
Jedi, Sith and Dark Jedi have all had their fair share of epic battles, but which is the strongest? The one you most certainly wouldn’t want to bump into in a dark alley.

Wisest Character:
The Jedi Masters, Sith Lords, generals, senators, aristocrats. They may not always be in the fighting, but their decisions echo across worlds. These are the proud teachers, the subtle plotters, the politicians and the strategist. The true mastermind.

Funniest Character:
Let’s face it, there’s always that one character who just makes you laugh when they post. They’re the comedy relief, the funniest character.

Best Relationship:
For the dynamic duo out there. Which two characters know each other the best? Which two have the perfect connection between them that gives them a story all their own? To the padawans and their masters, the lovers, the friends, the drunk and the bartender.

Leading Man:
This is the man who may not be the best at any of these things, but he just seems to be at the center of everything. If this site were to be novelized, who would be the main character? He doesn’t even have to be a protagonist, just that one guy that screams SWU.

Leading Lady:
Not every character has to be a guy. It would be boring if they all were. So this one goes to that one lady who takes center stage, a main character in her own right.

Best Bio:
Even before they’ve interacted with the other characters on the board, there are some characters who have an amazing back story, some are humourous, others heart-wrenching. But which is the best?

Best Storyline:
This one goes out to the player who has come up with the best plotline, the one whose story captivates the reader and leaves them wanting more.

Best Battle:
This award goes to all the bloodthirsty players who can’t get enough of a battle. It can be a fight for an entire world, or it can be a fight between two characters. This is the one that keeps you guessing. The one where the people who aren’t even a part of it read and start rooting for one side or another.

Best Post IC:
That post. Scroll back through the old threads and try to find it again. That one post that captured the moment perfectly. Where the writer poured everything they had into one solid post that was perfect.

At Star Wars Universe Roleplay we like to think we have a friendly member base, but who do you think is the friendliest?

Funniest Member:
With the odd bunch we’ve collected there are quite a number of jokers on the forum, who makes you laugh the most?

Happiest Member:
Is there a member who always manages to keep that upbeat attitude of theirs every single time you talk to them, can you think of a member who never ceases to be cheery?

Most Creative Writer:
Often the best writer doesn’t necessarily mean they’re that creative, but there are some who have a great imagination and they capture it in words extremely well. Great use of imagery, metaphors and similes to really create a beautiful scene for others to envision. Which member do feel does that best?

Most Realistic Writer:
It’s not all about creating a great mental image, making the story and events seem real are also an important part of writing, but which member can do this the best?

Best Writer:
The big one. Which player is it? The one who can write like no other? Write on all levels, from talking to another character, to fighting the good fight, to planning a battle, to the whole storyline. This is the one that you couldn’t have the story without. The Best Writer at SWURP.

Character Awards:


Best Character: Raynes Kohul (Regnier)

Regnier's mandalorian gets my vote. He is old, armed to the teeth and is a walking behemoth. Yet he is still a deep and meaningful character. Whilst most of the characters on the forum are well thought out. To me, This character stood out the most.


Coolest Character: Sylbia (Zarkan)

quite an original concept very well executed, she looks cool, acts cool and generally is cool =)


Strongest Non-Force User Character: Solus'ad Atiniir (PSF)

He is Mandalore after all! very strong in character, strenght and resolve... i would of chosen Joranus, but you can't vote for yourself =p hehe


Strongest Force User Character: Darth Paxis (Ardenator)

he is a sith overlord, he commands the force and ardenator is very competant when it comes to writing and describing various force related ..stuff!


Wisest Character: Eries (Kay)

Jedi Grandmaster, even though she is far too young, must of been a mistake in human resources nevertheless, she is very wise and intelligent!


Funniest Character: Cassandra (Eclipse)

She is not funny in the slapstick comedy sense, but her timing and reactions are world class in my eyes. When ever eclipse posts as her, its always a fun read =)


Best Relationship: Palas (Miera) & Doc (otterling)

An interesting couple to say the least, humourus yet serious at the same time. very interesting and intriguing.


Leading Man: Vreem Took

Great Writer, Great Jedi. he is wise aswell as being mentally and physically strong too and generally just an outstanding character! =)


Leading Lady: Reneta, Dark Lady of the Sith (Miera)

Whilst not the strongest force user out there, she is more than capable of backing her words up when it comes to fighting, she is wise, intelligent and has alot of experience under her belt.


Best Bio: Jedi High Council Member Kellick Vakkor

Need i explain? I have read it a few times along with a dozen other profiles that also may contend for this award, but for me, this is my favourite. If i only had popcorn!


Best Storyline: The Sith uprising

it is most probably the most anticipated too, the sith lords on their journey to reclaim their empire and meeting and recruiting a ton of interesting characters along the way =)

i have read it a few times in my search for the best post and to be honest, hands down for me this gets my vote, it is deep, well written and is far beyond my capabilities of writing hehe.

she is mad?! lol, nah.. squee has an uncanny ability to turn anyone's frown upside down, we all love her..no matter what mood she is in she can always smile about it and take it on the chin.


Most Creative Writer: Jenno

everything he writes, despite it taking awhile for him to post, is golden. i have never been disapointed with a single in character post of Jenno's. He always aim's to please and gets the bulls eye.


Most Realistic Writer: Miera

Miera, like jenno, is a gifted writer and is very good at describing her characters feelings aswell as the current situation. i am sure many rp'ers here look up to both jenno and miera for their writing prowess.


Best Writer: Jenno

For me, hands down jenno... if he were in the armed forces, he would be in the SAS.. the best of the best, i honeslty think we should keep a close eye on this young gun in the years to come.. no pressure jenno! lol

Best Character: For this one, I'm going to have to go with someone I've actually seen Roleplayed with, and even Roleplayed with. Meira's Namesake character, Meira, has been immensely patient and skilled at instruction, especially with a Difficult student like my character. For a Chiss in the Galaxy, at this time period, it's a Lonely, LONELY place, and Meira has helped make him feel wanted, and Appreciated.


Coolest Character: Admiral Kij-Dij Bajr "Boss Black"

For a Gungan (Not usually treated with the most respect as a Character race) this one seems to be outdone, just by looking at the Character sheet. Mind you, Vaygr goes out of his way with characters in a way that I've only seen outdone by one person (His character sheet was 8 Forum PAGES long, guy's A nutter tho) It's a Very Serious look at a Member of a Race that Isn't treated with the Respect it Deserves, so that's that!


Strongest Non-Force User Character: Donald Kail
1: Takes some balls to be a Politician
2: Takes bigger ones to do all the crap that Donald Kail's been thrown into. +1

Strongest Force User Character: Vreem Took
In the roleplays I've been with him in, he's always shown a Strength of Mind as well as a Strength through the Force that's Nigh uncompromisable. Vreem is Strong of mind, Will and Body, and Deserves this vote.

As a result of her Examinations, it took several moments for Cassandra to reply to the other Dark Jedi's request for What to call her. Cassandra works she said, her voice containing barely-hidden mirth at her next few words. Or Cassie, Crazy *Insert word for Female Dog in Heat*, Kiddo, whatever really...I don't have a name preference, and If I could change my name, it'd be to something completely unpronounceable... like Dxitch Wixxdlebarfx she added, creating a random string of letters for the last one.

Smirking, she set her staff on her lap and began to hum softly, the tune an old Correllian Lullaby as she played with the sand beneath her legs. Pausing in her song, she cast her face towards Xavier, then Tesa. Really, you two should lighten up some more...Between His moping and your Seriousness, I'm starting to feel like the only lunatic in our little family...

is... Just beyond priceless.... However.


Squee's posts, ALL OF THEM, in ToS were amazingly written, and I admired her skills, so pick one of those.
