The Jörmungandr was designed specifically at Idunn's request to fit her need of a mobile workspace. Her naval advisor insisted upon the vessel being armed and bribed the designers with bonuses to make the vessel into a cruiser analogue. Heavy armor, carefully and painstakenly formed, creates the best defense Idunn's impressive economy can provide, while state-of-the-art weapons systems can target and destroy virtually anything shy of a heavy dreadnought.
The vessel is dark purple, flecked with 1 ft. dia. spots of dark blue (approximately two or three per every ten meters of surface area). Coupled with it's appearance, the paint-job on the Jormungandr makes it appear very much like the sea-serpent of legend.
Internally, the ship is luxurious in the extreme. Every crew member gets a stateroom of about eighteen cubic meters (six square meters of floor space, three meters high). Complete with a full entertainment suite and a small refresher, these staterooms even have a small shower. For a navy man, a posting on the Jormungandr is very much the height of luxury.
Idunn's own suite is much larger. She has five rooms in the heart of the Jormungandr, an office, a full refresher suite (including bathtub), a meeting/conference area, spacious bedroom, and an entertainment/communications room. These are all arranged around a central turbolift, with the turbolift providing access to all five rooms (save the refresher). Each of these chambers is filled with some of the most expensive items to be found within the S.C.C. and many of the areas the S.C.C. trades with. In fact, were the Jormungandr and her furnishings to ever be sold, she would fetch a price on the open market of almost four billion credits, the price tag of a vessel easily twice her size (average cost of an ImpStar was 3.14 billion credits).
The reason the Jormungandr is so expensive, her furnishings not-withstanding, is her hyperspace relay system. No matter where she is within the galaxy, be she on the outer rim or deep within the unknown territories, the Jormungandr is in constant contact with the holonets. Information that is kept updated to the second is constantly crossing Idunn's office holoviewers, keeping her updated on the happenings within her conglomerate, and the galaxy at large, with a simple glance. Her captain, tho perhaps it is more proper to call him admiral, is the C.I.C. of the entire S.C.C. navy, and has personally overseen virtually every action the fleet has been in since the Conglomerate's inception.
