Name: Talisa De’Ladar
Race: Human
Age: 18
Height: 5’10
Weight: 113 lb
Appearance:
Birth place: Tatooine
Profession: Dancer
Bio: Talisa’s father came to Tatooine twenty-two years ago. He was an ex-con man who had been exiled from Alderaan, his home planet, for a particularly poorly conceived con in which he tried to pass himself off as a member of the royal family. Exile is a common punishment on Alderaan, especially for off-worlders. Sadly for Mr. De’Ladar, the customs stamp “Exile” was about as helpful to him as a third leg was to a Gizka. In fact, just about the only place he could go where he didn’t need a background check was Tatooine. He could have gone to Nar Shaddaa instead, of course, but there was one very important reason why he didn’t.
Paol De’Ladar was a very bad Con Man, and he couldn’t hope to compete with the pros in a place like Nar Shaddaa. So Tatooine it was.
For the first few months, Paol found work as a Salvager, a career which took him rather far out into the desert to find whatever the Jawas left behind. It was bad work, some of the worst in the galaxy, but Paol never worked for money. To him, Salvaging was just a way for him to build up some connections. While most salvagers went off on their own so they wouldn’t have to split profits, Paol was more than willing to spend his time working with others, talking the whole time, until one day he got the information he was looking for all along.
One of the newer salvagers (for the new ones always were willing to head out with a partner) began telling Paol about a group of Alderaanien Nobles who were headed out this way for political reasons. One of them, a young woman, who was either a princess or a dutchess or something along those lines (The man telling Paol was a tad drunk at the time, and so he was not very clear) was coming to their very area to purchase a Krayt Pearl for her very own. This, thought Paol, was finally his chance.
Paol made sure to be at the Hunting and Game Agency at the exact day and time when the young woman, a very pretty blonde by the name of Nina Antilles, came by the shop section. There, he “accidentally” bumped into the naïve countess (as he soon discovered) and introduced himself. He did not; however, tell her that his name was Paol De’Ladar, but rather he gave the same name he had given back on Alderaan. Paolan Andya Quel-Droma, the cousin to the Duke himself. He told her that he was here because he had grown bored of noble life, and he began recounting fascinating tales of how much better life was as a commoner, here on this dusty little planet. To Nina, he was charming and dangerous, two things she had never known amongst her courtiers back on Alderaan. It did not take long for a romance to blossom between the two young people, and before the Antilles family had finished their three-month stay on Tatooine, Nina was forced to go to her father and request that they stay on Tatooine for an extended period of time. Nine months, to be exact.
By the end of that nine-month extension, give or take a few days, Talisa was born unto the universe. Talisa never met her mother, and the Antilles family left soon afterwards, leaving Paol alone with a burden he had never expected.
As one can well imagine, it was not easy for a con-man to raise a baby girl on his own, but somehow Paol managed to do just that. At the age of fourteen; however, Paol’s unwillingness to be a father overtook his conscience, and he was gone from Talisa’s life, leaving her with nothing but a few credits, a letter (which she has yet to open), and the address of one of Paol’s old “friends”, a Hutt by the name of Aybbr.
With no place else to go, Talisa went to Aybbr, and the Hutt immediately took her captive. Apparently, before leaving, Paol had amassed quite a debt to Aybbr, and so the Hutt decided to take his pretty daughter as payment.
Hutts only do three things with their slaves. Some, like the wookiees, are used for their strength. Others are used for their skills, like slicers and mechanics. Twi’lek females and pretty young humans are used for their beauty. In Talisa’s case, she was used first as a server in Aybbr’s home, but soon found her place as a dancer alongside a pair of Twi’lek twins by the names of Leyla and Oolya. Apparently, as Aybrr discovered, putting a human in the middle improved the overall performance.
This was especially true because Talisa proved to be unusually graceful and an exquisite dancer. She began to amass quite the reputation around Tatooine and soon enough, Aybbr’s associates would come to discuss business ventures with him, just to watch Talisa. Strange as it may sound, a Dancer was responsible for bringing Aybbr from a low-life gangster to one of the most prominent figures on all of Tatooine. Aybbr even earned himself a seat of power among the Hutt Empire, a privelage reserved for only the slimiest of Hutts.
Funny, then, that the same dancer should be the one responsible for taking it all away…
