Doneeda was in a refrigerator...floating down a river, with a hooded dark lord behind her...holding a tennis racket. They were white water rafting, going through rapids, getting soaked. Then, suddenly, they hit a waterfall, and the fridge disappeared and she found herself flying above a purple jungle on a giant squid.
Then she heard something.
The squid was mumbling mathematical formulas. At an intense rate, as it dodged this way and that, Doneeda struggled to hold onto it, eventually falling off. Falling...falling...BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
The young Twi'lek tried to turn around, and as she did so, opened her eyes.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
Doneeda was laying on her front, her wrist watch going off to wake her up.
She groaned, something about it's dubious parentage, and turned it off.
She flipped over, the room still dark and sat up.
-THUD -
OW. SONOFAMOTHERSBANTHAS
She said all too loudly.
She instantly remembered she was in a bunk. Donnie rolled to the side of the bed, and dropped her left leg down, searghing with her toes for the floor. It was still a few inches below her. Carefully, in the dark, she moved her hands around so she could slide off the bunk and end up standing up, which she did.
Where am I...
She thought, trying to remember the room's layout from her brief glimpses during the day. Doneeda walked a step forward. No pain. She took another step, and put her arm out, and was just touching the wall.
Donnie reached out with her other arm, her left, and found the door. She turned around, and walked a step forward, and bumped into the desk. Reaching onto it she found her shirt, which she'd tossed off earlier in the night, bra and pants. And the lightswitch.
Donnie really didn't care what Var thought, she'd been asleep for nearly 7 hours, so she flipped the light switch on and started dressing.

"Do you always sleep that way?"
Var's green eyes peered out of the shadows of her bunk, her arms folded behind the back of her neck and legs crossed over each other. It was clear she was fully awake. And disapproving as always.
"Imagine how amused everyone would be at your expense if an emergency came up and you sprinted out to the cockpit bouncing around wildly."
The Sith swung her legs off the bunk and rose to her feet. Her own attire was in stark contrast to Donnie's. Her pajamas were essentially Sith robes. Black and comfortable enough, if a bit more close-fitting than typical models.
Var padded over towards the row of lockers, stopping midway and fixing a rather pointed gaze at Doneeda. "In the future one of us should always be at the controls. Wake me up before you go to sleep and I'll relieve you."
She continued to the locker and opened it, revealing the Echani light armor she normally wore. Basically a simple black combat suit with a few strategic armored plates. And her outfit of choice, protective but easy to maneuver in.
Var's robes came off in a quick manner, and her movements were extremely calculated. Calculated to minimize the amount of time she was exposed. Despite her speed though, there was a lingering period of long seconds where her cream colored back was visible. It was quite shapely and attractive, except all across it was a veritable mess of spidery almost-white lines streaking across her skin. They were scars, obviously very old ones, but equally obviously the marks of a whip. A whip used with special anger on a very frequent basis.
And just as fast, Var's back was covered again by a black piece of armor, concealing and sheltering her physical scars.

Doviculous did allowed himself to fall into slumber, but kept his defenses up through the night, not allowing himself to possibly be slain by the enraged Var. But now he has awoken, and he stares dimly at the familar hyperspace view, blue stars zooming past him, it was calming. He stretched in the chair, and rubbed his eyes, he hadn't allowed himself to sleep in a few days, and this made him feel refreshed and renewed. He reached out and felt the presences of all aboard, and after feeling satisfied that all of them were still living and awaking, he slumbed in the copilot chair and remembered last night'ss events.
First was the plan, which was to make a pitstop at Murkhana, then proceed to Tatooine. Plan B remained secret between himself and Donnie, which was to dumb Var at Murkhana if anything went suspicious about her and her plan. Then they was the small skirmish between himself and Var, as he had attempted to probe her mind about Tatooine, and only gathered that she had personal, perhaps emotional reasons to go there. Then there was Donnie, who also seemed to try to seduce him without realizing it, to be honest, he thought she had a great body, but of course that was a need that was close to the bottom of his needs list, and it didn't concern him much. And so he waited, knowing that one of the Twi'leks would wander into the cockpit and discover him still here.

Donnie smirked, as she got her pants on, and turned to follow Var across the room.
Yah. And good morning to you too...you sleep well? Good! Great sleep is always hard to find.
Doneeda sarcastically mock-conversed with her. She wasn't going to bother fighting anymore. Now she was criticizing her sleeping habits, Donnie thought.
Dov's in the cockpit. He's got a ship of his own, so if anything went wrong he'd probably be able to handle it. I was trying to be considerate, letcha get a night's sleep.
She said, as var disrobed.
Donnie raised an eyebrow at Var's back. For numerous reasons. Donnie always figured Var had curves hidden somewhere, but confirmation was welcome. She couldn't hide her grin, after catching some side-boob, Doneeda was impressed with what she saw. But something else rapidly caught her attention. A spider web of scars criss-crossing her back.
Scars, she recognized them from other Slaves she'd seen during her days as one. Donnie had been lucky enough to get away with getting the crap kicked out of her. She was earmarked to be a dancer. Lasting damage was out of the question . Her height and build saving her, but the other girls, the ones who were to become what amounted to sleepers, weren't always so lucky.
Doneeda's mind was churning away, Var was an Ex-Jedi, with old whip scars. So they probably weren't from a mishap during her time as a padiwan...There was only one logical conclusion. She, at some point, had been a slave.
Doneeda finished dressing, pushing her leeku over her shoulders and strode past Var, opening the door and heading to the cockpit, to check their course and the ship's status.
Upon arrival, she found a still awake Dov sitting in the co-pilots seat. Glancing down the hall towards the bay, and not seeing Var, she continued into the instrument filled room.
G'morning.
She said, as she moved around the cockpit.
Dis innit whatcha thinkin', don ged 'sited.
She joked as she checked the engineering panel's readouts, satisfied with them.
Doneeda grabbed the data pad in the pouch on the back of the chair, and sat down in the pilots seat and started going over the nav data and fuel logs.
Dov.
Doneeda said, trying to get his full attention.
She clicked a switch to check the fuel in the wing tanks.
Is thinkin'. Var seemz...stressed. I zin da bes thin' we shou'do iz tah, dake de woman do a bar, on murkana...fo'er own good'course..
Donnie said with her sly grin, hoping Dov got his drift.
Her plan was simple. Donnie could drink like a fish. She wasn't sure about Dov, but his sheer mass would be enough to keep him cogent. Var, if they could get drinks into her, wouldn't be so lucky, she figured. By virtue of size and chosen profession, she wasn't a big drinker, Doneeda surmised.
They would simply drink her under the table, and leave her on Murkhana, then high tail it back to the temple.
D'you wanna do de righ' thin, Dov?
She asked.

Doviculous thought it over, scratching his chin in thought, and then, he had an answer. I will do what I have to do, and about booze, don't worry, Devaronians have two livers, I can hold much alcohol He smiled grimly, this was not a truely fun topic to be on. He did like Var, as an ally and competitor, she was strong, in mind and form, but there was just something off about her. Still, I wonder what she could want at Tatooine, to my knowledge all that is there is Jawas, sand people, and slavers and their slaves He slowly rose from his seat, cracked his knuckles and turned away from Donnie like he was going to head into the hallway. I thank you for your small alliance, just don't do anything to ruin it... He smiled slyly and head towards the galley.
Doviculous strode into the Galley, raiding the fridge or whatever they had food in for something to devour, he was starting to get hungry. He found something fruity, meh food is food, and he sat at the table and easily peeled away the skin and chomped into the juicy goodness below. As he ate, he sensed the ship for Var, just to know where she was. He wanted to keep a bit of track on her, just in case she decided to pull something funny on him. He used to trust her, but now, he didn't know. He knew it was stupid to jump to conclusions, and he was still unsure about the secret plan himself.

Var zipped up the final flap of her light armor and once again she felt properly clothed. The reassuring weight of the garment wasn't enough to feel heavy or wear on her endurance, but it was just enough to make her feel secure.
Her mind didn't quite share that feeling of security. Her barriers were virtually impenetrable, but she didn't put it past Dov to try them again. He'd disrespected her deeply, and she wasn't about to give him a free pass on it.
She walked out of the crew quarters and into the main corridor, and as she turned into the galley she came face to face with the Devaronian. Var didn't glare at him. She didn't curse at him. She simply avoided even looking at him.
With a few measured paces she reached the storage cabinet, opened it, and pulled out a ration pack. Then she turned and left the room, continuing to ignore Doviculous.
She didn't especially have any desire to talk with the kid Sion, and her master Koeing had seemed to want privacy lately. She respected him and was more than willing to give it to him. And that left her with the options of sitting alone in the cargo hold, or Donnie.
Given the choice, she opted for Donnie.
She clambered up into the cockpit and slid into the copilot's seat, popping open the ration pack and starting to munch on a piece of cracker-like bread.
The Twi'lek Sith sat for a few moments in silence, unsure of what to say. Donnie was her only decent prospect for company for the immediate future. And she had been comfortable enough, or desperate enough, to start opening to her yesterday. Yesterday...

Donnie was finishing up balancing the fuel tanks when Var came in and sat down. She was writing notes down in the fuel log, calculating the burn and range, so Var's silence wasn't a big deal too her. She figured Var wanted to be away from from everybody else. When she spoke, Doneeda wasn't entirely sure which Var she was dealing with, so she decided to be careful.
I'm... sorry... about your sensor array Doneeda. I shouldn't have broken it. I was mad, and let it cloud my judgment.
Doneeda thought for a moment.
Thanks, I appreciate it.
She said, taking a moment to think.
Var...I...I want to ask you about Tatooine, well more specifically, the necklace.
Donnie said carefully, continuing.
I'm not...dou-..
She paused.
Ok, I am doubting your motives. Var, do you have any proof the necklace is actually on Tatooine?
Doneeda asked, hoping Var had proof. Leaving her on Murkhana wasn't something she really wanted to do if unnecessary.

Var's emotions rose and fell like a ship on stormy seas as Tatooine was mentioned. At first her facial muscles tightened and her body stiffened as Donnie questioned about Tatooine. As she qualified it to the necklace, Var's shoulders slackened.
And immediately tightened again as her motivations were questioned.
"Of course I have proof," she hissed. "I wouldn't lie about that. In case you hadn't noticed when I gave you every credit I had, I could have bought passage to Tatooine myself. And its not like I need your help to-"
She froze, realizing she'd almost revealed her goal. She closed her eyes shut tight and took a series of deep breaths, calming herself. It was one of the things she'd learned as a Jedi that still came in handy.
After a solid minute of silence she spoke, her voice collected.
"Never mind. The necklace is there. I spent a week in the Temple Archives after Ziost researching it, tracking the movements from archeological records. Half the Temples on Ziost had their artifacts moved to prevent capture in a war. They were scattered across the Outer Rim, and the necklace we want was sent to a monastery of Bomarr Monks in the Jundland Wastes beyond the Dune Sea."
She glanced down at the ration pack and noticed she'd crushed the cracker into a fine powder with her grip. She let go of it, and the crumbs fell like sand through her fingers.
"I want to go to Tatooine for my own purposes, and they don't involve you. For once in my life I got lucky, what I want and what we need happen to be in the same place. What I do when I get there is none of your business as long as the necklace gets back to Korriban. And it will, I promise you that."

Donnie slumped and crossed her arms when var had her outburst, and was just about to get up when var caught herself.
Doneeda uncrossed her arms, and waited for Var to relax. She also noticed her ration had become crushed. She'd really touched a nerve apparently. Donnie was stuck on one thing she said, in particular.
And its not like I need your help to-
Help to do...what...
Doneeda thought, as Var explained her position and how she'd known about the necklace. It put her mind at ease, that much was certain. At very least she'd done her research, so even if it wasn't there, there'd be a lead, and if it was, they could get this overwith.
She also did have a point, the pile of credits she'd given Doneeda was easily enough to pay for passage to tatooine.
Whatever she was going there for, was a sensitive topic. That much was obvious, and Donnie wasn't about to go asking any more questions, at least not at this point.
Allright, allright, I was just wondering, figured I'd ask.
A notification beeped on the nav display as the ship dropped out of hyperspace and Murkhana rushed up to meet them.
Hey, we're here.
Donnie said, thankful for the distraction, going through landing information and coords with with ground control.
A few minutes, they were on the ground, and Doneeda was flipping the controls to shut down the engines and reactors when a notification pinged about somebody at the bay door.
That'll be customs...I'll pay the man and we're good to go...Couldja keep an eye on the reactor containment field strength, make sure it leads the power output graph, right there.
Doneeda said, pointing at a pair of slowly dropping superimposed graphs.
I haven't worked out the kinks in the discharge system, so if anything happens, run.
She continued as she got up, picked up her messenger bag, and headed for the landing bay.
A few seconds later, she opened the door and met the uniformed man standing there.
"How many days?"
he asked.
" 1, maybe 2."
" 500 credits. " he said.
Donnie pulled the cash out of her bag, and gave it to the representative.
" Have a good stay on Murkhana, we're done here. " He said, turning and leaving.
Donnie walked back into the ship and while still in the hall, yelled to var in the cockpit.
" Var, I'm in the galley."
Then turned, and went into the galley, to take down a list of what they'd need for food. She was going to be doing a serious grocery run.

Doviculous stayed in the galley as they descended, he could feel Donnie mingle with customs. He sensed uncertainty from her as she headed back into galley. He asked calmly as she entered. Are you still on with the plan? I sense uncertainty from you... He rose from his chair, and walked towards Donnie, his eyes looking in her face, trying to find any facial expression that would give her away.

Are you still on with the plan? I sense uncertainty from you..
Donnie cocked her head to the side slightly. She'd have to roll out of this one right quick...
It was true, she was uncertain about her plans with Dov regarding Var. Though Doneeda wasn't sure if she actually believed Var, she was more inclined to wait and see what developed. Perhaps something resembling truth would come out later on, while they were still on Murkhana. 2 days was a decent amount of time.
This was something she'd keep to herself, of course. She wasn't on anybody's side quite yet. Something about Tatooine stunk. Not only because of Var's increased Var-ness since she'd decided that's where they were going, but because of the stir it was producing.
The Twi'lek wasn't sure what was going on, but she intended to spend the next 48 hours finding out. If , by the end of it, Dov was right, then Var would be left to her own fate on Murkhana. If Dov wasn't, then she'd cross that bridge when it appeared.
Doneeda looked at Dov with a blank expression and crossed her arms.
Dov. I jus' deal wid kustomz. Ve 'ave 3 Sith, a Lord, an' myself on 'ere. Uncertanty woul' be an unnerstatemen'.
She said flatly.
'ow, wha'cho prefer, cerial'er o-meal fo' brefas?
Doneeda said, looking up from her datapad and smiling at Dov.

Doviculous chuckled a bit, true, I guess dealing with customs when you have Sith onboard would get anyone nervous. He shrugged, Sure, why not He turned and headed towards the hallway. He would meditate a bit before changing his clothes to fit in with the populace on Murkhana. He walked down into the Cargo Hold, and found his usual spot, where he assumed the cross-legged position and began to meditate, which he had done more often on this trip than ever before. He assumed it was because of all the uncertain events, he needed insight to possibly know what to assume. He closed his eyes, and branched himself outward with the force. He could feel people out on the landing pad, perhaps some tourists. He branched out further, and felt other force signatures far away, but close enough to be able to sense them.
Doviculous opened his eyes, and realized he'd been concentrating for about 7 minutes, which seemed like mere seconds in his eyes. He rose from his position and re-entered the galley, announcing suddenly, We could have some trouble, I meditated for a bit and discovered other force users not far from here, they're exact positions are unknown to me, but I thought it would be 'responsible' to inform you He continued to linger in the doorway, awaiting the other's (assuming Var got into the galley during the time Dov meditated) thoughts about it.

"I can sense them too. Two of them, and probably at a nearby landing pad. I can't tell whether they're Jedi or Sith. But even if they are Jedi, we're well within our rights to be here. And they keep insisting their Order isn't interested in conflict. They can put their money where the mouth is."
Var sounded disinterested, but her eyes revealed her enduring and scathing dislike for Dov. He wasn't off the hook with her by a long shot. She would continue giving him the cold shoulder until he apologized. And maybe even after depending on how charitable she felt.
She dumped the empty ration packet into the waste bin and looked to Donnie. "I'll go back to the cockpit and make sure everything shut down properly."

Donnie, though far off in thought at the time about not groceries, was reeled back into reality by the Varsicle.
Jedi. Here.
Was pretty much all she heard. While they were well within their rights, She didn't put it past Dov...or Var for that matter, to go after them. She played with her right leeku for a moment while she thought about how to communicate ' don't cause trouble ' without actually saying it. After a few moments, she came up with her solution.
Hokay...Var...Dov, hol'on.
She said, not getting up.
Owbody's money's goin' in anybadyz mouf....Infakt, Da' money, ri-dere-
She said, pointing at Var's pile'o'cash on the table.
Iz far to klose to eithar of your moufs.
Donnie paused, realizing how retarded that sounded, chuckling.
Hokay, da'was dumb...iz early, shaddup.
Donnie said to the room more than anybody in particular.
She was however, still concerned. This particular gang of merry men didn't have the best track record of not provoking each other, much less a Jedi who's got it in for the Sith.
Allz Imm meanin', 'void 'em eff yah kan. Somethin' I piked up from' smugglin', eff choo can see dem, dey kan see choo. lassthin' we wantin' iz pizzin' off a corpo-worl' wif forcie antikz. Yah, we in da rightz, bu-da don' mean juz kuz we kan, we shoul...choo guys gemmie?
Doneeda asked, hoping they took her meaning.
While Var had a point, they were within rights, if they caused trouble, the planet would be within rights to turn away Sith in the future. Or, become more friendly to the Jedi. She was hoping her companions would be able to see the "big picture" on this.
Even'eff a jeddi kome up an' zay cho momma so fa'-
She said, looking at Dov.
She pu-on lipstik wit a pain-roller, giggle, den do da oposite of killin'.
Donnie took a breath and paused.
Imma no givin' orderz, jus sayin' dis so eff anydin' go wron, I kan say "Dinnit I zay sometin' onda ship, 'bout da?".
She finished, turning her chair so she could put her feet up and work on her datapad.

Var looked coolly at Donnie, not exactly thrilled by the fact she was being questioned in that way. It made two times that day she'd been questioned, and it didn't help her mood any. But she kept her voice as cool as her eyes when she replied.
"I couldn't care less about the Jedi. I'm not stupid enough to start something with them, contrary to what you seem to believe."
The Twi'lek Sith draped her lekku back over her shoulders from where they'd somehow fallen down her back. The movement was extremely casual, and it showed just how unconcerned Var was about Jedi.
"If a problem comes up with the Jedi, I'll deal with it. Personally. You have to know how to deal with them, but as soon as you know what they want to hear you can spoon-feed it back to them and they'll believe any lie you want to tell." She thought back to her own trickery years ago that had allowed her to escape her Jedi master and flee to an enclave of Dark Jedi. It was just a question of how you lied, do it the right way and everything would be perfect.
With an almost morbid pleasure, Var leaned back in her seat and started to run through the potential lies. She settled for the perfect lie, one guaranteed to work once she sold it properly.
"Try this on for size, we stole the ship and fled Sith space so we could find the Jedi Enclave on Mustafar and return to the light side. Exactly the sort of corny redemption story no Jedi can resist."

...I'm not stupid enough to start something with them...
Donnie snorted involuntarily, and suppressed a giggle.
So now she's choosing her fights...right.
Donnie thought. It seemed that Var was more than happy to go off on justabout anybody for justabout anything, justabout anytime. It was getting humorous.
Doneeda looked to Dov.
Wha' makes dem so special...
Donnie paused for a moment, mustering her sarcasm.
Dov...Dov Dov Dov, Iz got an Idea.
She said leaning on the table, looking serious, then spoke in a mock whisper.
Eef choo change ur lissaber color t'blue, she' leave yah alone!
The young Twi'lek said, looking between Var and Dov with a toothy grin.

Doviculous couldn't help but snicker slightly, Donnie was funny, there was no doubt there. He then turned to Var, Fine, if we do run across em no violence will be involved, unless they're some hot headed knights and paddies who want to meet my blade He grinned and pulled his hood up and his clouth mask, Ready when you are to leave He dramatically turned on his heel and slowly walked into the Cargo Hold awaiting the others, perhaps he would abandon the plan B, Var still seemed to be usefull.... to some extent. He peered out of the open Cargo Door into the spaceport, some aliens and humans mingled and talked nearby, nothing suspicious.
Oh how he will fit in, a 6'7 horned beast walking the streets. One look at him and his face screams 'I'm evil!' He chuckled at that thought, others being scared of him by his devlish appreance, perhaps this trip will be some fun. Of course, the drinking will be fun, perhaps he'd wager some good coin in a drinking contest with Donnie, if she agreed, and perhaps there's some Sabacc somewhere, he was a good gambler, of course force powers had nothing to do with it. He smiled, then turned back towards the hold, awaiting the others.

Var glared at Donnie, a sour expression on her face.
"At least with Jedi you know where they stand." She looked Doviculous in the eye. "And what their limits are."
Her hand traced the lightsaber hanging from her belt, a reassuring presence bouncing lightly against her hip. She could pass herself off as some poor lost Sith trying to find a way back to the light if she had to. The others? She wasn't so sure.
She hoped it wouldn't be a problem.
"Yes, I'm ready. Now who has the shopping list, and are we dividing into teams?"

Donnie frowned. She realized they had a need to keep certain members of the crew "off the radar". Dov being one of them. It was a sad reality that bringing attention to themselves, in any way, was a bad idea. Bringing a 7 foot tall red alien around a CA planet was a good way to grab attention, of the bad kind.
Donnie attracted attention, but of a different sort, she didn't look like she wanted to eat you. Sion, though he didn't stand you, would probably say something stupid and make somebody angry.
Hokay. Zory dah say diz, bah Dov an'Sion, eet woul' be bess' da cha stay 'ere.
She said, looking at Dov.
Zorry, bah youz a 7 feet tall an' look like you gon' eat babiez. Nah a goo'idea tah be walkin' through a store wi' da kiz...
She continued, trying to explain her stance.
It really wasn't that she didn't like Dov and Sion...they were just...unfit for human consumption. She'd make it upto the pair later, the Twi'lek told herself.
She switched into Huttese.
Var, you and I are gonna go grab the food, and booze. We'll gas up before we go.

"I don't drink. You can have my share of whatever you get." Var commented honestly. She didn't drink, and as such had no preference on what alcohol was bought. Her role was always the responsible, sober one.
She was, however, quite interested in what food was selected. She knew her way around a galley, one of the practical relics of her dismal childhood. The fact that Donnie ate what came out of the synthesizer meant she shouldn't be the one with a list of foods to purchase.
"Let me handle the food situation. Between ration packs and the right fresh goods I think we can make food last the whole trip."
The Twi'lek Sith Initiate drummed her fingers on her thigh, eager to start moving if only to give her time away from Dov and Sion. Donnie wasn't exactly her favorite person in the galaxy, but at least she didn't have to worry about mental assaults or conniving betrayal from her. That made it worth the time. Even for a Sith, sometimes a little peace was welcome.
Her hand bumped her lightsaber and she thought about the weapon. She wasn't leaving it behind. Yes, it would catch the eye of some. But she had every bit as much right to be a Sith as a Jedi did to be a Jedi. Legally no one could stop her on a neutral world. And the Jedi tended to obsess over following laws. It probably wouldn't pose a major difficulty. And if anything bad did happen, she'd far prefer having her saber to not having it.
"I'm going to head out right now and get a little fresh air. Meet me outside when you're ready Donnie." Var walked out of the room and down the ramp of the ship, enjoying the fresh non-stale, non-metallic air around her.
