Name: Lorelei Kalvaari Montez Castillo deVela (Birth Name Lorelei Elise Kalvaari)
Age: 20
Race: Zeltron-Humani hybrid
Birth place: Ruusan
Height: 5'10
Weight: 135lbs
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Blue-Black
Appearance:
Tall and reddish skinned, Lorelei looks perfectly Zeltron to the untrained eye. Her hair long and dark blue, nearly black waves comfortably about her face. Fairly attractive, her face is heart shaped and symmetrical with a bright smile and familiar look. Her figure standard with slight curves, some youthful baby fat still clinging to her hips and face, giving her a soft look.
The Zeltron resemblance stops there. Clad in long and flowing swatches of cloth skirts under simple corsets, her clothes are almost rustic in appearance, covered in beads and dangling coins. Bright jewel tones being perfered every day is a different look for Lorelei. Her feet, more often than not are left bare, but are thankfully concealed by the long floor length skirts.
Personality: Lorelei is ever curious and genuine. A forever upfront and bright young woman, you always know where you stand. If she is upset she will not hesitate to let you know how and why you've hurt her.
Over all though, Lorelei is extremely naive. Her life with the humani, while it has left her strong and independent was extremely sheltered, and she is constantly surprised by how people and the galaxy work. Her experience with romance and relationships outside of family is very limited, nonexistent in fact, so she is prone to become bumbling and shy when speaking to someone she is attracted to.
Always ready to take in a new experience or learn a new skill, Lorelei is a loyal friend and valuable crew member.

Bio: To understand the circumstances of ones birth, one must look at their parents, look at the sum of all their parts. In the Humani, family is more than just the people who bore you, they're the first friends you make, the teachers, the caregivers, family is more than just blood relation, it is everything. So to best understand Lorelei, you must start with Eliso.
Eliso Montez Castillo deVela was the son of a trader who with his immediate family, three daughters, Eliso and his wife bought their own ship away from the massive house ship to see the galaxy and bring credits back into the house. This practice brought the family on many adventures trading in precious metals and gems spending only a few nights at a time on any given world. But as they say, it takes two to tango.
They met on Ruusan, the beautiful planet rich in resources and crystals. Eliso's family ship had landed near a small village on the planet that was filled with archaeologist and anthropologist studying the Ruusanian Bouncers. Amongst them was Moira Kalvaari, a Zeltron woman who found interest in the visiting Humani.
Eliso, a spry twenty and crew hand on his father's ship, and Moira had many talks in the few days his family was there, and on the last night Moira took him to her bed for a memorable evening.
The next morning the two parted ways, only after Eliso gave her a single fortune telling card, a token of his affections.
Eliso and company took off for more trading adventures, but Moira had more on her hands than she expected. Within three months, as her research grant was nearing its end she found herself pregnant with a steady stream of funds disappearing.
Desperately she fought to continue her research as her belly swelled. There was no way she could return to Zeltros with the baby, her father would be furious, disowning her. After a long battle, Moira got her funding, enough to last her several more years on the planet away from her family, at least until she could find something to do with the child.
A month later, a small reddish, almost pink little girl was born, named Lorelei. The next four years for Moira were frustrating. The bouncy little girl was clingy and always underfoot, Moira did love the girl, but being a mother didn't suit her. Every time a trading ship landed in the village Moira stood, with Lorelei in hand, clutching the painted card of a heart pierced by three daggers.
Nearly 5 years since Eliso last visited the planet, the young man returned grown. In his time away she had seen much of the galaxy and had all but taken over his aging father's business. After pursing new ventures around the galaxy he returned to the old trade routes, captaining himself on their newest vessel.
As they landed, there stood Moira, for who this tradition had grown old and weary, clutching the squirming little girls hand as she ooo'd and ahhh'd at the shiny metal ship. As soon as Eliso saw the little girl he understood, her resemblance to his own mother was shocking.
The mother had made the decision years before, Eliso so wanted he could take Lorelei back with him, to live her days with the Humani. Moira belonged to her work, and missed her family desperately. Motherhood had aged her, and she was weary and eager to move on. Without another thought she handed the child over, passing on the fortune card with her.
Lorelei like any child missed her mother terribly, the first month living with her bachelor father was simply awful. He expected her to be quiet when he was doing business, to amuse herself on the ship and the food was certainly subpar. This isn't to say that her father was neglectful, quite the opposite. A doting and attentive father Eliso fell into parenthood in a way Moira never did, he loved Lorelei and tried his best to teach her the ways of his people, the Humani.
As Lorelei grew she adjusted well to life to ship and took to spending time with the crew, trying to help out in the various tasks on the ship. During one stay on Coruscant her father decided to hire a proper cook for the ship, an ornery old man by the name of Cervantes.
The quality of food greatly increased and once more, young Lorelei had someone new to talk to and something new to learn. Cervantes, after much sweet talking by the 9 year old girl, took her under his wing, teaching her all about the world of spices, and flavor profiles as she sat in the corner peeling tubers.
During this time Eliso fell in love with a woman named Amarita from deFe clan on a trade route and married her shortly after. Amarita at first was wary of Lorelei, finding her bright pink skin and uncanny perception with people off putting and foreign. This was a first with Lorelei, whose father and crew had never treated her differently than any other. With time Amarita came to understand and accept the girl though, especially as her cooking skills increased, though their relationship never became one of mother and daughter.
By the time Lorelei had turned 12 Cervantes had taught her all he knew. Eliso might have laid off the old man if Humani custom didn't call for Lorelei to move on from his ship, back to the Castillo House Ship to begin apprenticeship Amarita was heavy with her first child, so the parting was bittersweet.
As they landed on the House ship Lorelei met for the first time her Aunt and Uncle, Emilio and Desmona. Her father and her had a tender moment as they parted, him gifting her the fortune telling card he once gave her mother and another, a dark shadowy portrait of a seeress over it. With a final hug goodbye, Lorelei began her apprentice years.
Life on the House Ship was difficult at first. Everyone was distrustful of the young girl with blue hair and pink skin, an estrani with the clad in the clothes and words of the humani. This puzzled the girl who had grown up around the galaxy, whose father had told her people came in different colors and shapes, that she just took after her mother a little more than others.
This frustrated the girl to no end. No one wanted to share their craft with an estrani, a stranger who hid in their midst. Why didn't this girl find her own way, rather than clinging to the Humani way? After three months of being on the Castillo Ship Lorelei had grown frustrated to tears, having spent every day trying to convince a different tradesman to take her in. Most merely shook their heads at their offer, others suggested distant relatives.
It was during one of those afternoons, wandering the ship that Lorelei found herself feeling sick. Something in the air was giving her a bad feel, deep in her stomach. The sort of instinctual feeling she got about people, when they were afraid or upset. Something was definitely wrong.
Following the smell and feeling in her stomach she found a child in the market place of the massive ship, off behind a stall. His throat was swelling and his skin red with rash, an exotic fruit held in his hand, his body coated in a sheen of sweat. Within moments Lorelei had found a doctor and dragged him to the boy, shouting.
The boy had been allergic to the fruit, traded in just that morning, being so young he might not have made it if not for her quick work. The medicine man, a well traveled individual was impressed by her quick thinking and more so was intrigued by her unique ability. After talking with her family he accepted her as his apprentice. Her ability to read chemical signatures, or pheromones given off by the body was a huge asset to his practice.
The years went by and Lorelei threw herself into learning all she could about practical medicine, treating wounds and illnesses, while working on her reading and writing skills. The girl was fluent in the Humani language, but Medina demanded the girl learn basic as well. Her reading and writing skills improved greatly over time, though her grasp over the spoken language never progressed beyond fair.
By the time Lorelei reached her 17th birthday she was considered by all who knew her a true member of the Humani. Lives and illnesses were saved with her potions and poultices, her expert medical knowledge and her empathetic abilities. It was on this day the Castillo's, along with her father and half sibilings gave her her true name.
Born Lorelei Elise Kalvaari, missing parts of herself, missing her family. Lorelei, her given name, it with Kalvaari were the most basic pieces of herself, the pieces her mother bore and gave, but not quite whole. Montez, her father and his father before, the immediate family. Castillo, the House ship and all its passengers. And finally deVela, the Clan and all its people, and with it all of the Humani.
Born Lorelei Elise Kalvaari, she would die Lorelei Kalvaari Montez Castillo deVela, she would die Humani. In the ensuing celebration her father gave her another card, this one depicting a woman dressed in robes, holding a staff. A priestess.
The next two years went by happily. Lorelei spent her days in a blur of cooking and medic training, and soon she had sufficiently learned both. Her apprenticeship over. At age 19 Lorelei now had the freedom to do what she wished. She could, if she liked join her father back on his trading business, or continue her life on the House Ship. Instead Lorelei decided to seek out her estranged mother, who hadn't contacted her since releasing her to her father on Ruusan.
With a quick goodbye to her Aunt and Uncle, Lorelei traveled to Ruusan, only to be sent almost immediately towards Zeltros. Moira had finished her research years before and returned to her family. Without a second thought the young girl headed to the planet, curious of what her other half was like.
Zeltros was overwhelming to say the least. The pheromones were flaunted, the people manipulative and boisterous. No one genuine and the air too thick with confusing scents to tell the difference. The girl, a bundle of stuttering blush was completely unprepared for the Zeltron lifestyle. Within hours she was lost and confused, barely able speak, but somehow she was able to find the home of the Kalvaari. Her mother was there with a proper husband and children, and rushed to get her back out and onto the streets, offering apologies as she did. Lorelei had been a mistake, and Moira had a new life now. Surely she understood, the Humani way was to make your own way, wasn't it?
More confused and upset than ever, Lorelei staggered away, a washed in the strange feelings and sensations that weren't her own that every member of this race seemed to push onto her. It was here that Lorelei met the crew of The Jewel...

The air around Lorelei seemed to still, stagnant with the negativity of the situation. He was hurt. The girls stomach rocked and twisted within her as she looked over the diseased flesh.
Two weeks before her cousin had gone off with a shipment and had injured himself, a simple laceration. If he had cleaned it properly then all would be fine. Instead he let it fester, assuming it would heal itself. Infection came and spread, spoiling the flesh around the gash a bright red and sickly yellow pus.
"Mauricio, you should know better than this... Tsk tsk tsk, how could you be so stupid?"
Turning about Lorelei rummaged through the stock piled herbs and medicines, grabbing a wad of herbs and rubbing it gingerly into the wound. The color lessened almost immediately, paling.
"Next time cousin, tell someone and wash the wound. You could have lost your arm like this." She said with a shake of her head, slowly wrapping a thick white bandage over the bundle and gauze.
