Name:Anushka Faddei
Age: 29
Race:Human
Birth place: Ralltiir / slums
Height: 5'3''
Weight: 120 lbs
Eye Color: Hazel, a bit reminiscence of amber.
Hair Color: Ginger
Appearance:
Small and dainty creature , at first glance no one would call Anushka a warrior. Her delicate, girly features make her often to be mistaken for someone a decade younger but most of a time it just leaves her very underestimated as an opponent. Despite smaller than average height, Ana is not a person that would get lost in the crowd. Her hair is naturally ginger, though she uses a dye to make them stand out even more, giving it fiery, red shin. Adding to that ghostly pale skin with freckles and vivid, hazel eyes and you have a person that is hard to forget.
She is not very attractive though, in terms of classical beauty - as the strange exotic of Ana's look may be more off putting than endearing . Many would see Anushka as an oddity rather than a woman, even more when observing her fighting. These two images – one of a small teenager with low pitched, soft voice and the other of a hardened warrior just don't mesh well.
When it comes to clothing Ana has one style – comfortable. Light armor and casual clothes will do just fine. It is a miracle to see her wearing something fancy unless forced to. She didn't miss Jedi outfits though, now these loose robes were just hideous. Make up – sometimes, if only to defy Jedi doctrine.
Because of very fair skin, she tends to get sunburns a lot. Planets like Tatooine are her bane. Other health issues include painful light saber scarring on her thigh, dislocated elbow that often cause her a lot of pain even after couple of years and neck pain – occurring often after strong stress.
Personality:
Indifferent , detached, misanthrope. Anushka is not a ray of sunshine. Her pessimistic attitude and snarky comments are a wall she had built over the years to stop anyone from getting close. You could say Ana is an embodiment of a Murphy law seeing bad sides to everything. A true Debbie downer, she has a gift to make reality hit you in the face in a form of a short, snappy comment.
Her tongue can be a razor sharp whip but it terms of true emotions there is not much there. Mostly cold and aloof, detached with little care for others. Everyone will die anyway so why to bother? Honest to the fault she can't lie nor she tries but often words the blunt truth as yet another pessimistic observation. All these traits make her into someone who rarely can enjoy life or relationships with others.
This loneliness of hers is not entirely self-imposed but stems from Anushka’s inability to adjust. Lacking any respect toward authority after her Master ‘betrayal’ she found hard time adhering to anyone’s wishes. Always a socially inept outsider, alienated from others Ana lives a life of a lone wolf who will most likely die young.
This is what you can tell at first glance as Ana had never let anyone in enough to see that she does care. Especially when helpless and weak are being hurt or people she secretly cares about though would never let them know. As a master of rationalizations Ana can argument why it was profitable to help them of course or at least why it was a rational thing to do but admitting any positive feelings aloud? No way in hell.
One of the things of note about Ana is couple of quirks she has and is very attached to them. She is afraid of spiders and various bugs to the point of hysteria; likes to watch bad holo - romances with hope they would provide her some clues on how to get close to someone as living in the order for two decades did leave this part of her life rather neglected. About these two things Anushka prays no one will know about. There are few more however but they all circle around obsessive - compulsive traits of Ana’s mindset: she will refuse to eat green food, always wear something black and will never have hair loose. Something about long, fluffy free flowing streaks just rubs her the wrong way.
It is hard to say on which part of the force Ana balances – her decisions and methods maybe harsh but in her mind they make no harm. She would never accept a job that included collateral damage. You could safely say that Ana is walking an uneven path between light and dark, not leaning toward any of it, wherever the money trail leads.

“Forget it. I don't like kids. I didn't even like kids when I was a kid.”
Birth
Raltiir – a world of big corporations, banks and business entrepreneurs. Believed to be a safe haven and a place for high class goods as well as citizens , but not everything was truly so wonderful. As any planet Raltiir had slums made of wash outs who didn't make through harsh laws of the free market. Small fries eaten by vicious competition. Anushka's parents were such losers who had failed in the economy game. Overnight, few months before Ana was born, her father had lost everything o when local stock market hit he bottom. Underinvestment and huge risks turned into a tragedy and so the family had to leave cozy upper city. Her father, a man of weak spirit, couldn't stand it and jumped from a hundred story building never knowing his daughter.
Alone and desperate, Ana's mother suffered on the streets only to give birth prematurely to a sickly baby girl. No one at the hospital had given the child much chances for survival but remarkably Ana pulled through. Her mother didn't see it though as she had vanished from the clinic couple of days before; deciding it was better for her daughter to have a place in one of many orphanages than in the slums with a dying mother.
And so the little child was sucked into a foster system with fate already sealed as one of the early tests showed Ana was force sensitive – if any Jedi would see it fitting to recruit the girl into the Order, no one would oppose. The foster family Anushka had spend first five years of her life harbored many other orphans but no one would say any of these children were neglected. Ana had shelter, food, water and even couple of toys of her own. Sometimes even would get a bit of warmth from the care takers. All in all it wasn't that bad to which she responded with a mixture of distance and shyness.
Even so early Anushka began to display rather difficult temperament. She had hard time to forge relationships with other kids, staying outside the group. Misfitting , having problems with authority figures Ana would rather spend time watching children playing than joining them. Always an outsider with a bit faster responses an average child would have. That was bout the time a Jedi appeared seeking potential recruits. Without any immediate family Ana was sent with her , an aged Miralian , to train as youngling. Better to be a Jedi than an orphan after all...As for Ana, she behaved rather indifferently, not trying to make any closer contact with the old master.
Youngling
Still not very sure what was happening around her, Ana began her training with dozen of other potential Jedi of various species. With nothing better to do or where to go, she fulfilled her duties with strange detachment many masters would notice. It was as if the girl wasn't entirely there, with attention often escaping toward day dreaming. This made her rather average if not poor student. Ana managed to learn as she was quite smart and gifted in terms of force potential but there was always something missing. Attention, dedication, willingness...Not many could actually name the missing piece but it wasn't there, where it should be.
Not all the Jedi has to be best of the best so the training continued with Anushka barely making pass the failing line. With little friends and even less casual interactions she stayed rather awkward and lonely kid in this bunch until the teenage years came and Ana met her master...
“I like having low self esteem. It makes me special “
Padawan
A middle-aged Torguta, known for many eccentric behaviors and considered to be an odd cookie, even for his species , became Ana's master. He was a joyfull fellow who cracked quirky jokes, one would say lacking certain serious demeanor a sterotypical master was expected to have.
She was wary at first, not really getting along with many masters but it didn't take long for Ocraadi Ba to make the girl to trust him. His nature made him a bit of an outsider which strongly appealed to someone like Ana. After all those years Anushka finally had someone that she seemed to genuinely care for and listen to.
It didn't make her the best or even above average Jedi Padawan there was but certainly did bring results as Ana finally began to master basic saber Shii-cho form. Ocraadi was a master of couple separate saber techniques but seeing his Padawan's problems in learning the basic form the old Torguta immediately knew it wasn't Ana's path so he broadened her training focusing on telepathic and telekinetic abilities . After years for hard work she managed to learn force push thought its power was something left to argue about. Some would joke she would give a Sith a light breeze at best...
Ocraadi was patient and didn't push Anushka where he saw it just wouldn't work. His Padawan just wasn't a very talented individual but still could make a decent Jedi. Many failures that left Ana depressed about disappointing her master, the Torguta took with calm and unnatural tranquil. Lack of harsh judgment at his part was what most likely made possible for Ana to stay motivated and strive for better. In her case better meant average at best but still...He sometimes could make her feel she was the best Padawan out there and that what counted most. Ocraadi was accepting, non judgmental and most of all, he didn't show disappointement whenever Ana failed.
Even when Anushka spent three months making her lightsaber, more than many of her peers would need, he didn't comment on it and just regarded the blue saber with admiration. It indeed looked like the greatest achievement so far in the girl's life. But a pretty lightsaber didn't make a good Jedi and so training on Niman started. As a technique considered to be balanced and efficient , it was a guess Ana would find it possible to learn. Unfortunately it wasn't that easy. It cost her much effort to focus enough on the Force, let alone master couple of simple moves but she tried...and tried and tried if only not to disappoint Ocraadi. After five long years , when 19 Ana could say Niman was not hard for her anymore.
Early on her master would take Anushka for various missions, most of them diplomatic that in time turned into protection duties and only couple with true combat. Ana was handling stress surprisingly good, staying calm even when a situation grew gravely dangerous. One such encounter on Mon Calmari had left her leg injured and artery ruptured but Ana still managed to last against not much older dark Jedi apprentice. Anushka might have been average when it came to the Force and sabers but she was a fighter and survivalist. At the end her master had to save her but the fact she survived in the duel this long made Ocraadi to call her 'too stubborn to die' and appealed to the Council to make this encounter into a Trial of Flesh. Since she was twenty at that time it was agreed her path to the knighthood could start now.
“My goal is not to wake up at age 40 with the bitter realization that I have wasted my life on a job I hate because I was forced to decide on a career in my teens. “
Trials and Knighthood
With one trial behind her, Ana was on a good way toward knighthood. Something many doubted she would achieve but Ocraadi never showed any lack of faith in his Padawan. Trial of skill was a duel with a Jedi Knight. A typical form of testing ones skills. Ana barely passed in saber techniques but telekinetic and telepathy abilities had saved the day enough to let her go just above the failing score . The masters often highlighted how unfocused Ana could be most of a time but all in all her cunning and ability to use the environment to compensate certain lacks in Force abilities earned her this trial.
Next was one was Courage but this time it went much better, though one might say Ana was just recklessly suicidal throwing herself to rescue a group of kids from pirate's onslaught on a remote colony world but it earned her a passage. even if not all the children were saved. Ocraadi wasn't happy though, his demeanor changing slightly as he slowly distanced himself from his student. Ana could feel it of course but couldn't tell what was wrong with her normally cheerful master turning into a rather gloomy teacher.
The last trial , the trial of spirit was the most difficult for her. Three times she wanted to focus and three times it ended with a session of nightmarish visions of children she couldn't save. The next try would be her last so again not to disappoint her master Ana fought in depth of her own mind wave of dark monster like figures that tried to burn those kids. The trial was harrowing and left Anushka scared of spiders for many years to come. But she pulled through, like often times before, despite all odds and it seemed that only because of her relentless stubbornness.
That was it, she was a knight. A Jedi knight at 24...but if didn't bring much joy as it should have. There was always something missing. With a melancholy gaze she watched her master vanishing from her life to maybe take another Padawan. Ocraadi was no fool and knew that Ana harbored a well-kept crush on him but didn't act on it, but it was something she could understand. After all the Jedi Code forebode such relationships.
Couple of months had passed and Ana tried to rekindle the relationship she had with her master. The young woman could sense Ocraadi was pulling away but couldn’t really tell why. Every talk Anushka tried to start would end quickly as the old Jedi claimed it was only age and weariness getting to him. Making her look like a worrying child. With little friends in the Order, Ana had no really chance to quickly grasp rumors but from time to time she overheard scraps of the unsettling information was - that her master may be in troubles. The vague rumors did little to falter her own faith in Ocraadi, on one occasion she even tried to defend him against completely (in her opinion) outrageous accusations that he had broken the Jedi Code.
Between duties as a knight Ana had little time to actually contact her old master, counting that one day he would come back to what they had, even if it was only platonic friendship. But it wasn't supposed to happen which Anushka learned in a painful 'I told you so ' way - from a fellow knight. Ocraadi was expelled for breaking the Code and left the Order to marry a simple civilian.
“You know the conscience I don't have ..It got to me.”
Freerunner
She didn't quit overnight in an outburst of rage. No, Anushka was not hotheaded. Her anger was cold like a breeze of winter wind not explosion of fire. It took her approximately a month to make a final decision and meet the council to inform them that her Jedi life was over. Ana was concrete and focused but didn't explain herself. No one tried to stop her, talk her out of it which the young woman received as a signal that they thought Jedi were better off without her. Never behaving like a paragon of the Code, never excelling in any field with skills below many knights , always coming just above the passing line Ana knew no one here would miss her. Ocraadi was a skilled master and no one tried to stop him, why would they bother with a knight who could barely swing her saber in one style other than Shi-Cho.
The only regret Ana would have was losing her saber which she had to leave behind as a symbol of giving up on Jedi life. At first she didn't want to agree but seeing there was no other option the former knigh threw her lightsaber on the ground in a rare display of fury. 'Go suck a bang of dongs' was the last thing the Council would hear from her.
And so at twenty four Anushka was free. For the first time in her life she was a master of her own fate. No orders, no superiors, no Code to follow. At first it overwhelmed her. What to do? Where to go? Ana had no living family, no lover to go to and little money but after the trials not much could discourage her, especially if there was one thing driving her – to find Ocraadi and tell him how big of a douche he was abandoning his student like that.
But first things first – she needed a job and well paid one. The choice was obvious and Ana became a mercenary. Even an average Jedi knight was still better than non force user so getting employment was not difficult . Anushka took simple gigs around various core and colony worlds – guard duties on Coruscant, hunting pirates on the borders of Mid Rim, overseeing important shipments on Corellia. Initially credits were small but after two years her business connections grew giving more well-paid jobs if much more dangerous. Never, however, she would accept a job that would harm innocents. Assassinations, thievery and kidnappings, these were things below Ana's standards. You could safely say the woman was picky about with who and what task she was taking.
After a year she could afford to buy a saber crystal on the black market. It was nowhere near as pure as her old one. It had hideous greenish yellow tint but it let her to make another lightsaber. This time it took nearly a month but the weapon was ready...and painfully yellow. Ugly or not it let Anushka to climb a bit higher in the mercenary line of work, giving her an edge many didn't have. It established her as reliable, solid a bit anti-social quirky merc but she got the job done...well most of a time.
On what looked like a simple mission Ana had a run in with a dark jedi. He was hired as a guard by the pirates Anushka was paid to dispose of. She managed to kill the small group of criminals, ambushing them on Naar Shaddaa when their protector was away briefly. Unfortunately her timing wasn't that great as the Zabrak force user returned shortly after and engaged Ana in a confrontation that could cost her life. The male was older, better trained with great mastery in the Force. It took shamefully little time for him to overpower the former Knight so Ana did something that humiliated her even more but at least kept alive – she ran off like a coward. The Zabrak didn't chase her unless you count his laugh haunting Anushka till this day.
This experience, long saber wound along her back and broken ribs put Ana out of commission for a while. She decided it was hight time to finally find Ocraadi. For next year the woman searched for clues where her former master could have gone. Finally Anushka found him in Coruscant slums drinking himself to death. Ocraadi was an empty husk of his former self. The woman who supposed to love him left for another, leaving the ex-Jedi broken and depressed. It didn't make Anushka happy, however, only disillusioned her even more. She didn't even want to tell the Torguta how hurtful his leaving had been.
He smiled faintly, seeing his former Padawan not even slightly surprised. They talked for a bit or more like Ocraadi was sharing his story of lost love and life away from the Jedi; Ana listened with blank expression. At the end of the teary monologue she just said: 'See, you could have had me instead." and left leaving him few hundred credits for the sake of her burned out love. Ocraadi didn't run after her nor beg her to stay. Few days later Anushka learned he had died of drug overdose but she couldn't force herself to shed even a single tear. The grudge of being spurned all those years ago was still gnawing at the woman's soul. That chapter of her life was done.
She was twenty eight and ready to return a life of an mercenary but this time with no goal to achieve. Only then it struck her how empty her life became after Ocraadi's death. With no purpose Anushka became even more detached drifter looking for her place in the Galaxy: maybe find that dark Jedi and face the death with some dignity this time. Maybe...

Trillions of pixels slid over countless screens in the dimmed light of a club. The Promenade, Nar Shadaa's luxurious heart famous for carnal pleasures and expensive goods was not Anushka's favorite place to stay. Then again, the former Jedi had very few favorite things. Amber eyes blankly stared at ticking newsreels and holo-dancers. Another day in hellhole paradise. Annoying voice made her to pry her gaze off the screen which now showed add for some lekku wax.
”Wanna dance?” He looked like a typical club goer. Young, well-dressed and drunk. Ana waved her hand dismissively with curtly 'No'. Unhappy, the man scurried away. She didn't grace him with even a cursory glance and returned to slurping her drink, watching intently a teaser for a new holo production.
”Your lack of interest in personal interaction makes you an ideal candidate for working with the dead. Have you ever considered changing your job?” This voice she knew very well. Phabia, her Kiffar contact. A nice girl but very naïve. How come she had survived on this moon was beyond Ana. ”I guess I'll just wait around for people to kick the bucket. The former Jedi responded with hazel eyes still glued to the screen. That could be a hell of a movie...
I can't believe you're not more ambitious. The Kiffar woman threw a small data pad on the table. Anushka took it, finally letting go of the screen above the dancers' scene. She looked over the list of warehouses they were hired to check out. “You want me to kill people to drum up business? “ The human put back the datapad and finished her drink with one, long slurp. Phabia rolled her dark eyes. ”You want to go now?” Ana continued with her typical neutral tone of voice that seemed constantly conveying boredom.
”Do I look suicidal?” The Kiffar snapped, crossing her arms in a haughty manner. Ana, unphased by the sarcasm looked over her companion. "If I told you the truth then technically I'd be doing you a favor. And that simply cannot be." Ana pulled a loose string of hair from her face and stood up, pushing the empty glass aside. ”Let's go.” Not caring if Phabia was following, the former Jedi started to walk toward the exit.
