Class name: Aratech XT-2000 General Purpose Droid
Faction: Independent
Manufacturer: Aratech
Classification: General Purpose
Purpose: Repair, piloting, manual labor
Dimensions
Height: 1.6m
Weight: 123kg
Power Source: Power cells
Movement type: Bipedal
Number of limbs:
Arms: 2
Legs: 2
Other: None
Armor: 1cm durasteel
Shields: None
Armaments: None
Other Equipment: Sensors, integrated range-finder, magnifying optical unit. Personalities produced in both genders.
Description:
The XT-2000 was a short-lived Aratech droid design from 3658 BBY, in production for only five years. While the modular programming of the series allowed for the installation of service modules designed to allow more complicated tasks, the design had several other quirks that resulted in it being retired from production early.
By the far the most notable change was an artificial intelligence that was both odd and more intelligent than desired. The designs never presented any danger, but they were exceptionally quirky and often enigmatic, traits which were not cured by memory wipes and never seemed to grow better or worse.
While Aratech engineers tinkered with the personality matrix again and again, they were never able to isolate the portion responsible, and when they decided to overhaul the entire personality, they decided to craft a new body to go with it. The XT-2000 was replaced.
Today, 2000s can be seen scattered across the galaxy here and there, in various jobs, most commonly in the outer rim. Their owners tend to love the droids or hate them, either embracing them as friends and companions or being 'creeped out' or 'confused' by their eccentricities.
