Name: Simo Kirin
Race: Rodian
Age: 30
Height: 6ft 5
Weight: 166
Birth Place: Yusk, Rodia
Description
While tall he is rather on the thin side. Some take him lightly for this reason, assuming that he is weak. However, his thin frame conceals a surprising wiry strength. Like many Rodians he attempts to keep himself in tip top physical condition. In addition, he has green reptilian skin, with tattoos on his forehead and down the sides of his neck and face in a darker green. These he gained while working for a gang on Rodia. His skin is slightly smoother and less pebbly in texture than some Rodians. Like all Rodains he features a tapiered snout, saucer shaped antennae, and long sucker like fingers, and red multifaceted eyes. He also sported a range of flexible spines running from the top of his head to the back.
In terms of dress, he favoured a long coat olive green and filled with many pockets in which he could conceal weapons and other useful apparatus. He also favoured long knee high boats, again useful for concealment of weapons.
Like most Rodians he also exhibits a strong musky smell, that while not as strong as other Rodians still can be unpleasant to many species. He sometimes covers up the smell with scents if he is required to work with humans in particular, unless he is dealing with Hutts who tend to find the smell pleasant
He does speak Basic fluently but like many of his kind has difficulty pronouncing r, l or s sounds, lisping slightly in basic and speaking with a strong accent. So he prefers to speak Rodese or Huttese.
Personality
To many he appears infuriatingly laid back, he seems very slow to anger or excitement almost never raising his voice, even in the worst and most dangerous situations. Very little seems to rattle him, while all about him falls apart he appears disinterested. He often uses this trait to put his enemies on the back foot, confusing them and making them doubt themselves. He is faultlessly polite to friends and enemies alike using his calmness and supposed warmness to conceal his feelings and thoughts from others.
Underneath this exterior, he is the ultimate cynic. Not really trusting anyone or anything. He has an immense dislike of people he deems as idealists. Anyone who believes in the rightness of a cause or a group, particularly the Republic and Sith who he sees as unrealistic fanatics. He is for the most part content to stick to his own corner of galaxy and survive. His overwhelming drives are money and survival. Not necessarily evil, but he can be ruthless if either his money or survival are threatened.
Though he has a degree of skill in combat, he would far rather think than fight his way out of a situation. Fighting in his estimation is a far riskier to his own survival than by being quick and clever, but he will ruthlessly and coldly kill if he feels it is the only solution.

Biography
0-5
Born on Rodia in the city of Yusk, Simo was the youngest child of Wodi and Nyla Kirin. Wodi was a scout who had signed on with the Republic army, and was a firm believer in the ideals of the Republic. Nyla was a technician working in one of the many munitions and armaments factories on Rodia. He had an brother who was 6 years older by the name of Morla. As the two of them started to grow up a rivalry began to develop between the two.
As he grew Simo being the younger and the weaker of the two brothers was bullied and often attacked by Morla, who saw the young Simo as a threat to his position as the apple of his parents eye. This bullying was not stopped by either of his parents, his father Wodi was frequently away from his family and Nyla adored Morla as her first born and refused to hear a word against him. Simo learned that screaming and crying would get him no where, so he stopped.
5-7
Simo was eventally subjected to more bullying once he entered school where his brother Morla who was ever popular continued his campaign to make Simo's life a misery. Simo increasingly became withdrawn from other children and teachers, rarely speaking in lessons. He was starting to learn that to prevent being hurt by bullying he had to keep others at arms length and watch and access them. He baffled other students and his brother by appearing to no longer care what they did to him, even when they hurt him physically. . Despite rarely speaking in lessons he showed early signs of intelligence, often being able to understand concepts outside his age group. However he showed no interest in working. Infuriating his teachers, who wondered how well he could do if he really applied himself.
School having little interest to him, Simo frequently snuck out and wondered round the streets of Yusk. On one of these trips, he ended up in a cantina run by a small time local gangster called Tisha. Simo loved to watch all the people, especially those who looked distinctly shady. Tisha and her thugs noticed the boy's regular appearances at the Cantina. Initially believing him to be a spy for a rival gang she and her thugs kidnapped and confronted him. She was impressed with how he never showed fear once even when knocked around a bit by her thugs. He was calm and spoke reasonably and politely putting her on the back foot a little bit. She was eventually convinced he was not a spy, she let him go. Undisturbed by this even Simo continued to go to the Cantina, and was eventually offered a job as a runner and look out for Tisha's small operation. He duly accepted
7-16
Simo worked with Tisha for some time and by the time of his 14th birthday he simply stopped going to school. He even got a tattoo of the Gang's symbol on his forehead. Running from the Rodian security forces developed a tall lean frame. Many of the older members of the gang taught him to look after himself and how to fire a blaster, something which he showed great aptitude for, becoming a far better shot than any of Tisha's petty little gang. From Tisha's gang and Tisha herself he learnt survival. Survival at all costs was all that mattered. Not being caught was as good as not having done it. Simo was frequently in trouble for a number of petty criminal acts and was often in front of the local law officers. However due to his careful and meticulous nature he was never caught doing anything serious.
Meanwhile, his father now and officer who was coming close to retiring from the Republic Army, was disturbed and distressed by his Son's behaviour.
Morlan had joined the security service, the rivalry was intensifying between the two as they now stood on opposite sides of the law. Morlan was making it his personal mission to attempt to put Simo behind bars permanently, and Simo for the first time in his life had the upper hand boasting of his crimes to his brother and gloating over the ease at which he evaded him. Things came to ahead when Morlan attempted to frame Simo for a murder. A local trader had been killed by one of Tisha's thugs for not paying her protection money. Simo, who had taken to following his brother overheard him talking to an accomplice. They planned to replace the sample of DNA taken from the crime scene with a sample of Simo's. Simo decided that his brother and his accomplice were too dangerous. So he came to Tisha, her thugs abducted the accomplice and killed him, leaving Morlan to Simo. In the dead of night, Simo broke into Morlan's home silently. He climbed the stairs to his brothers room, stirred him from his slumber. He gave his brother a polite smile and calmly shot him. Even Simo was surprised at how little guilt he felt, this was a necessary act to survive. Simo disposed of the body in the swamps of Rodia leaving the evidence to be consumed by the creatures that lived there.
16-20
His brother gone Simo was confronted with a new problem, suspicion. Even though they could not prove it everyone suspected him of the murder, even his father. Simo decided that it was possible one day that they may be able to prove it, and he had no desire to be caught and not enough money to buy passage on a ship. Simo then hit upon the great idea of signing up with the Republic military, they always seemed to need recruits and were getting less and less choosy. Simo would be out in the Galaxy for some time during which the Rodian authorities would likely have forgotten about him. His father was delighted believing he had turned over a new leaf and what better penance was there than to serve in a noble cause? Simo did not believe in noble causes all he believed in were credits and himself.
So at the age of 16 Simo enrolled on a Republic training programme and was taken to Coruscant. The trainers were impressed with his intelligence and skill with a blaster, but less so with his attitude. When Simo hit 18 he completed his training with the minimum of effort, and for the next three years served as a private. Officers were dismayed by his lack of interest in advancement in the ranks, despite clearly having the skills to advance. His indifference to the command structure meant he was relegated from fighting on the front lines, to guarding duties on various different planets. He used this opportunity to sell Republic weapons and munitions to local gangs under his superiors noses.
20-25
Tiring of his superior's moralising, Simo prepared for desertion. He stole food from the Military's stores enough to keep him fed on a good long trip. He waited patiently for his leave to come up. However, one of the officers, Captain Sarith had noticed him stealing and stockpiling the supplies. He deduced that Simo was going to desert. Confronting Simo about this, Simo as always kept remarkably calm seeming indifferent at having been caught. Caught of guard by Simo's easy going demeanour he made the mistake of turning his back on the Rodian who deprived the Captain of his blaster and then Shot the Sarith in both legs, being careful to do no lasting damage believing that once he escaped from Republic space they would forget about him, so there was no need to kill Sarith. As a result of this encounter, he proceed with his desertion early. He was able to escape in a transport bound for Huttspace escaping Republic space and ending up where all those who want to get lost eventually end up Nar Shaddaa.
Now deprived of his wages, Simo was left with no money. Simo signed on to a handful of mercenary operations, with recruiters who asked few questions and paid well. Simo quickly discovered the reason for this. Many of the recruiters were hiring the desperate and the inexperienced with promises of money and using them as distraction teams and cannon fodder, while the experienced mercenaries attacked the objective from a different route. On one such occasion Simo was part of a group of mercenaries hired by the Hutts too attack a heavily defended pirate base on Nar Shaddaa. The Pirates had been storing massive quantities of Spice there in the hopes of avoiding the attention of the Hutts.
During the frontal assault, in order to avoid turret fire he hung back and then grabbed one of his fellow mercenaries and used him as a human shield allowing him to be one of the few to succeed in making it into the main building. His ruthless and cold performance during the mission impressed agents of Golrin the Hutt, one of the less powerful but more ambitious Hutts on Nar Shadaa, who offered him a position as one of his henchman. Simeo normally suspicious of working for one individual was in a desperate enough situation to accept the offer.
For the next five years he worked for Golrin eventually becoming a trusted lieutenant, helping eliminate the Golrin's enemies Hutt and non-Hutt a like, whilst occasionally working as Bounty Hunter. During this time he developed a deep seated rivalry with Baric one of the Hutt's human henchmen whom Simeo had supplanted in Golrin's favour.
25-29
Simeo realised that eventually Baric had to be removed but Golrin would not have tolerated his henchmen killing each other, good help is hard to find after all. However, an opportunity presented itself to put him out of the picture. Baric was tasked by Golrin with hunting down a female smuggler called Liran Kurn, who had unwisely sold some of Golrin's merchandise to one of his competitors. Supposedly she was last sighted hiding out on Tatoine. Simeo immediately went out and with his new found wealth from working for Golrin's expanding business Empire, he purchased a Blitz class light freighter, naming it Silver Mist and made with all speed to Tatoine, posing as a smuggler. He made contact with Liran pretending to have been cheated by Golrin and wanting revenge. Using his easy charm he hatched a plan with her.
Baric eventually caught up with her and boarded her vessel, and cornered her in the cargo bay. Allowing Simeo to emerge from one of the containers and shoot Baric. He decided to let Liran go warning her not to return to Nar Shadaa for some time. He himself returned to Nar Shaddaa where he claimed that the Smuggler had killed Baric and he had killed the smuggler. This secured the position he had taken from Baric with his efficiency and calm easy going manner.
He continued working for Golrin for the next four years, before it became apparent to him that Golrin's position was weakening. The Hutt had expanded too far and now was faced with far more capable rivals especially another Hutt named Kodo. Simo was worried as he was well known as Golrin's most senior Lieutenant. Simo, talked to many of the thugs who worked for Golrin, many realised the situation to and using his charm he identified those most likely to support them and told them of his plan. Simo talked with Kodo secretly and in return for guaranteeing his safety Simo gave Kodo the access codes to the entrances to Golrin's base. On the day of the attack using his privileged position Simo reprogrammed the defences of the base to attack Golrin's guards. Kodo's force was able to swoop into the base Golrin's cries for help fell on deaf ears, as Simo allowed Kodo's forces to kill the Hutt.
Kodo recognising Simo's ability stayed true to their agreement, and Simo moved to working indepndently again as a Bounty Hunter and Mercenary, even occasionally working for Kodo. Simo's instinct for survival at all costs and his great skill ensure he is never short of work.

The Human was annoyed, Simo could tell that much. Humans were odd creatures but he recognised the signs, a reddening of the face wide mad eyes. Also, the angry and persistent swearing and the blaster pointed at his head were also evidence of this. Behind Simo lay a dead Bith, Simo racked his brains while the human ranted trying to remember precisely what the Bith had had a bounty on his head for. Simo thought it had something to do with non payment of debts but could not be certain. He gave a mental shrug, what did it matter. He had secured the bounty by killing the Bith, after of course elbow barging this human bounty hunter out of the way. The human had been lining up a shot and was now apocalyptic with rage. He had knocked the blaster out of Simo's hands and now was threatening him, something about 'stealing his kill'. The human was clearly stupid, otherwise Simo would be dead by now.
“...but now I have you, and I am going to make you regret crossing me.” Simo stared blandly up as the human laughed coldly. “So he is one of those,” Simo thought “one who once he has his target likes to play with them a bit. They can be so easy to manipulate.”
Simo looked serenely up at the human and shrugged lazily. “You have got me have you?” He intoned in Huttese. “What!!?” said the human red eyed and furious “Speak in basic, or I will kill you now.” Simo sighed, he hated speaking basic owing to his difficulty with some of the sounds. “If I mutht” He lisped. “Ath I thaid, you have me well done.” He looked calmly up at the human.
The Human seemed to get more agitated, it was most annoying when you have beaten some one and they don't seem to care. Waving the blaster the human almost smashed Simo in the face “Don't you understand I HAVE YOU!” He shouted. Simo shrugged and suddenly found his hands to be interesting turning them over and over and examining the long green fingers. “What is wrong with you don't you care?”
“Not really what hash happened hash happened, nothing I can do about it. No point getting upset about it. You did very well, and you were withe to attack me when I was off guard.” He left the words hanging his tone suggesting an implication
The Human spoke in a low dangerous voice “Are you saying that I could not take you if you knew I was coming?”
“Oh not at all.” There was a slightly sarcastic tone to his voice.
“Do you think I am an Idiot? You want me to give you your blaster back” He pulled a second one out of his belt. Simo's eyes glinted for a moment. “If I did that you would be on me as I handed it back.
“No no I perfectly understand a man like you can't take the rithk.” he said in a very even way.
“I am not a coward!”
“Of courthe not” Simo now started inspecting his coat for stains.
“I don't have to prove anything to you!”
“I agree, but maybe you have thomething to prove to yourthelf. If you thlide the blaster far down this corridor you could enthure that I don't take advantage of your generothity. I trust that a man like you would allow me to reach it fairly tho we could prove you are the better hunter.” Simo's eyes sparkled , he had shown no emotion through out this discussion being calm and soft spoken. The Human was baffled annoyed and off guard. “Mocking me eh? I'll show you! Fine I will give you your chance.”
Simo's eyes flashed, the human took Simo's blaster and was stretching to throw it down the corridor. Simo pounced, stepping inside the man's arm and placing one foot behind the man's foot. His fist crashed into the man's jaw and he stumbled over Simo's foot dropping the blaster. Which Simo grabbed and pointed straight at the Hunter's head. Simo smiled pleasantly “Never ever waste time talking to your man, get the job done anyway you can and as quick as possible. Unfortunately you have learned this lesson too late.” He fired the blaster bolt hitting the man squarely between the eyes.
Simo hefted up the lifeless carcass of the Bith and retrieved his own blaster, and calmly strode away. “Job done.”

“Job done.”
