Name:Frell'oki'nashandu “Llokin”
Race: Chiss
Age: 31
Height:6'3”
Weight:180 lbs
Appearance:
Llokin is a serious, grim-looking man. As is typical of a Chiss, he has vibrant blue skin normally, though it does grow darker or duller dependent on the oxygen content of his location. His hair is a thick and wavy jet-black color, though the wave is hard to discern in his short, no-nonsense style. Red eyes are set deep in his face, which, when combined with a generally contemptous and dismissive frown makes the Chiss often seem angry, dangerous and as cold as the glaciers on his homeworld. Llokin's face speaks of a life lived in hardship; skin roughened by cold worlds and scars from injuries too numerous to count. He has a particularly impressive scar on neck; the result of an errant charric blast from his youth.
In the Chiss Ascendency, he would be considered unremarkable in appearance; his features, height, and build are very average among his people. However, by human standards he is very tall, and very muscular, if rather on the trim side; his metabolism means he does not accumulate a lot of fat. Llokin's ties are clearly apparent by his manner of dress; he eschews the typical robes of Force users in favor of black Chiss-style military uniforms, he is almost never seen out of them. An imposing figure; Llokin's powerful build and his severe choice of clothing serves to intimidate others. He is a tidy man, always impeccably groomed to military standards. There is an air of stillness to him; every move he makes is deliberate and efficent. One could easily mistake him for a frozen statue.
Personality: Logical, calculating, cold and aloof; that is how most would Llokin's personality. He thinks of himself as practical and efficent. Like most Chiss, he is highly disciplined, intelligent, and trained to look at situations from many different angles. Llokin prizes efficency and efficacy above all else; the only solution to a problem is one that has the greatest impact with the least amount of effort. Not that he is lazy, no, he just believes that expending more energy than a task is worth to be sloppy and wasteful. As a Force user, he is incredibly frugal with his power; he does not use it just because he can; he'll use it because it is the best method of accomplishing his goals. He sees the galaxy outside of the Chiss Ascendency to be a chaotic, disorderly place, full of foolishness, weakness, and irrationality. He has made it his goal to bring order to the galaxy, and he sees the Sith Order as the only ones able to help him accomplish it, despite their insistance on indulging their passion, anger and hate.
Not that Llokin is free from such emotions; in fact, part of what drew Dark Jedi to him were strong fears and hatreds that boiled under the surface of his cold exterior. Llokin works hard to control his emotions and not fall prey to them, but all that means is that they have a tendency to come out in extremely explosive and violent ways when the pressure gets too great. These outbursts are both exhilirating and embarassing for the Chiss; exhilirating because then the Dark Side of the Force courses through him more powerfully than ever, embarassing because he sees the loss of control as a serious and fatal flaw in himself.
He has a vast contempt for all that he considers to be an alien – anyone who is not Chiss – and is terrible in social situations. Llokin has no empathy, and no patience for those who cannot follow his train of thought, as fast as that may be. He gets frustrated by those who do not consider the consequences of their actions, and those who make the same mistakes over and over again. Though he does not actively try to offend people, Llokin does not seek to mince words or spare other's feelings; he's often blunt to the point of rudeness.

Bio:
Frell'oki'nashandu was born to Frell'merk'uchet and Chaf'riela'nashandu (shortened names Llmerku and Frielan) in Ao'siel, one of the major cities on Csilla; the homeworld of the Chiss Ascendency. Llmerku and Frielan were both military; working for the Ruling Families in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Force. They were an older couple; lifelong service members and Llokin was their first and only child. The martial, disciplined life was all they knew and so they trained their son in true Chiss military style. From an early age, many would say from too young of an age, Llokin was expected to obey completely, without question. Cleanliness to the point of sterilization was required; both his person and any of his habitations. Failure to follow orders or live up to his parent's standards were met with harsh punishments more befitting an adult than a small child. Even at the tender age of three, Llokin's punishments included standing out in the freezing cold for hours on end, being denied meals, and heavy physical labour. Any complaining or tears met with further punishment, and Llokin quickly learned to bottle up his emotions in order to avoid his parents' wrath.
But it wasn't always easy for the young Chiss to do so. From a very early age, the child realized he was different from his parents. He had odd feelings and something that told him more about the people he encountered than what met the eye; the earliest signs that the boy was Force sensitive. However, while Force users among the Chiss were not unheard of, they were very rare, and Llokin's parents especially were completely unaware of the signs. When Llokin tried to tell his parents about his feelings, they dismissed it as the fanciful dreamings of an idle child - their only response was to pile more work and punishments to keep the Llokin from falling prey to his imagination. But since the Force-sensitive child could not block out his senses, the odd feelings and strange premonitions did not go away; Llokin merely kept everything to himself. People who met him saw a quiet and cold child, who's only sign of frustration was in his dark red eyes.
He was not alone in his youth, however. After all, the military worked and trained as a team; according to Llokin's parents, they could not bring their child up correctly unless he learned to work as a unit. As soon as he was considered old enough, at the age of 4, he was sent to an Academy with other children of the CDEF. There Llokin was one of several dozen children, some of whom were raisedin the same strict environment as him, but most had far more lenient parents. Llokin found life at the academy much easier than life at home, he started near the top of his class and stayed there throughout his school career. He found himself torn; both angry at his parents for their ridiculously harsh treatment of him, and grateful for the discipline they instilled.
At first Llokin and the other children regarded each other with distrust; those who led relatively normal home lives were suspicious and slightly intimidated by those who didn't. Llokin and those like him thought that the others were loud, rude, and uncivilized. As they grew up together, they learned from each other; some learning discipline, and some learning the benefit of letting loose every once in awhile. For Llokin though, with his added sensitivity, letting go meant losing control. Fights with other children often led to him causing serious injury, and destruction of property wasn't uncommon when Llokin let go. Such occurances were rare, but dealt with harshly; the angry boy spent more than a few days in detention, and in one particularly bad episode where a child ended up with a broken nose, arm, and collarbone, suspended for nearly a week. After that episode, Llokin worked even harder to keep control over himself. But his reputation was made; among his peers, Llokin was someone to be feared and respected. For his part, Llokinlooked down on his fellow students as weak and out of control. He saw in himself something great; but such pride was considered foolhardy and not in line with what the Chiss wanted from their army.
His education at the academy was very thorough; all of the basics; history (especially military), writing, math, science, technology, and that was just the beginning. Tactics, strategy, weapons use, hand to hand combat, space flight simulations, and languages other than Chiss were required of all the students in a CDEF Academy, as the students were trained to go into the service, fighting and exploring for the Ruling Families. They were expected to be the best; and the best of the best included Llokin. Despite his indiscretions early on, he was considered to be an exemplar student, and at the age of ten, graduated the Academy and was drafted into the CDEF.
At ten, Llokin was considered to be nearly an adult among the Chiss; he had nearly reached his full height, though he was still a bit gangly. Because of his aptitude as a student, Llokin's commission was a good one - he was to join the crew of the Ice Arrow - a Chiss frigate that spent its time exploring new worlds for colonization for the expanding Ascendency. Llokin's position was low; he was barely an adult, after all, and maintaining the engines was exactly the kind of task a young private could expect, though Llokin chafed at the drudgery. The engines weren't his only task - he rotated through various menial positions and continued to study tactics and martial forms. He was being groomed as an officer by the captain of the Ice Arrow, but for the first year of Llokin's tenure, he was unaware of that fact.
After that however, it ceased to matter. The Ice Arrow, in it's exploration, had flown into space controlled by the Sith Aristocracy when Llokin was eleven. The Chiss were unaware that they were in known space, and were surprised by another ship heading in their direction. The other ship hailed the Ice Arrow asking for permission to board; the crew, according to their protocol, allowed a delegation to come aboard. Llokin had never seen anything quite like the creatures who came onto the ship; it was his first encounter with an alien species. The Chiss were professional, but nervous; the delegation from the other ship was not and it soon became apparent why. The other ship had no interest in parlaying; they were bandits, pirates of the worst sort. That should have been no problem for the Chiss, except that other side had a Dark Jedi among them, a Miraluka.
The two parties found themselves at a bit of a quandry - the Ice Arrow could easily destroy the intruders, but not without great cost to themselves. But giving up Chiss technology and Chiss weaponry was unacceptable. It was the Miraluka who proposed solution to the problem, though it was not one that left anyone, especially Llokin, in a happy position. The Dark Jedi had sensed Llokin's potential as a force user, he told the Chiss that the ship would take the young Chiss and leave them unharmed. His travelling companions protested but the Miraluka, who's name Llokin later discovered was Gethran, told them that if they did not do as he asked, the bandits would no longer have the benefit of his protection. The bandits were clearly more scared of the Dark Jedi than they were of the Chiss, and so acqueised. As for Llokin, he found himself no longer part of the Chiss military, but the apprentice of Gethren and crew member of the Baleful Vronsk. As for the Ice Arrow; as soon as everyone was aboard and starting to turn around, Gethran ordered the bandits to blast the craft out of the sky.
So Llokin started his training under Gethren. Being technically an adult, and unfamiliar with the new world around him, Llokin had a hard adjusting to being an apprentice. For his part, Gethren was pleased to see the frustration and anger in the young Chiss, but less pleased to see his strict control over those emotions. But the Miraluka could not deny that the boy had talent, and furthermore, the discipline to really make himself great. Llokin worked with a single-minded determination to master everything his master taught him, starting with the basics. The lightsaber forms – first Shii-Cho, then much later Djem So and Sein – came easiest to him, having been already used to martial training. Using his abilities, however, proved to be more of a struggle, as it required clicking into a part of his mind that he was unused to working with. Whether it was because Llokin himself had an affinity for Sense, or whether it was because his master was a Miraluka and completely dependant on Force Sense, it ended up being the easiest for him to learn. In part because he had been supressing his sensitivity for so long, Llokin did not see the point of the more overt uses of Force; he preferred to use it to enhance his other abilities and to work in subtler ways. It was grueling – Llokin was old when he started his training – so in order to catch up, he had to train for long periods of time, and he was barely proficient in one thing before Gethren moved him onto the next. Luckily, due to his childhood training, Llokin was used to such brutality, and took it all in stride.
The Chiss's choice to control his emotions bothered the Dark Jedi master. Gethren could sense the anger and turmoil that resided in Llokin and it was clear that Llokin's power came from the dark side. But the Miraluka did not believe that his apprentice would ever attain true strength and power if he did not give into his emotions. So part of Llokin's training was designed to push him over the edge, to get him to react in such a way that he would have to use his full potential. Torture, mind games, threats, everything that Gethren could think of, and still nothing seemed to outwardly phase the Chiss, though he was a sea boiling over inside. Llokin himself was aware of his growing addiction to the Dark Side forces, but his discipline would not allow it to rule over him completely; he forced himself to be logical and efficent with his use of Force magic.
Gethren would often use Llokin to help pirate other vessels. Though still in training as a Force user, Llokin's former military training came in handy and incidentally proved to highlight his greatest ability; using the Force to enhance his other attributes; body and sense-wise. This may have been because he was technically an adult before he was ever discovered to have Force powers, but the Chiss found it easier to use the skills he studied as a child, and then use the Dark Side of the Force to make himself stronger. Gethren and he were very well matched in that way; the Miraluka's reliance on the Force to see and navigate the world was something he could pass down to his pupil. He also began to train the Chiss in Battlemind; a difficult technique, but one of the few that Llokin actually saw purpose in pursuing. When they encountered pirate ships, it meant that there were two people who were stronger, faster, smarter, keener, and more agile than anyone else; an army unto themselves. Taking on pirates proved to be good practice for the apprentice; he enjoyed obliterating the lawless elements of the universe, and enjoyed it even more when they begged to be taken under their command in exchange for their lives. Llokin felt he was doing the galaxy a service.
The two of them stayed with the bandits and pirates of the Baleful Vronsk for a time, with the Dark Jedi onboard giving the lowlife an edge over other ships. Exactly how the arrangement benefited Gethren was unclear to Llokin; the Dark Jedi had a larger purpose, but the master kept it from his student. During this time, Llokin saw much of the galaxy and many more of the species who inhabited it. Watching them, he came to the conclusion that the universe was a disorganized, lawless, chaotic mess. He grew to resent the crew of the Baleful Vronsk, and only tolerated the Miraluka as he would an effective, but flawed superior officer. As he once considered himself above his classmates in the academy, his disdain for what he considered to be lower races was similar, but far greater. As his apprenticeship wore on, Llokin started to dream, and plan. With the power of the Dark side, he could bring order to a chaotic universe. He could show them all the true power of the Chiss Ascendency. As he studied under Gethren, dreams turned into ideas, and ideas turned into plans. But as an apprentice, still learning to use his powers, such things were still very far off.
Eleven years. That was how long it took before Gethren allowed his acolyte to create a lightsaber of his own. Up until this point, the two of them had been travelling around, raiding planets and ships, and displaying the might and power of a true Dark Jedi. The Miraluka's influence would not soon be forgotten by the many peoples they encountered. His apprentice, with his strange blue skin and unnervingly inscrutable red eyes, was no less an influence. But up until this point, Llokin had not been using a lightsaber of his own crafting, and though he had technical mastery over Shii-Cho; without a proper blade, he would never be a true master. It took eleven years, but finally Gethren conceded that Llokin had earned the right to create a blade; a task that required time and effort. And Korriban.
Or at least that is what Gethren insisted on. Korriban had always been a hot spot for dark energies and the Miraluka knew of a forge there. It was the perfect place for Llokin to create his lightsaber. Gethren and Llokin bid farewell to the Baleful Vronsk, and started to make the trek to the forge. It took them three days to get there, and by that time Llokin was tired, hungry, and very frustrated; he was starting to think that Gethren was leading him on a wild goose chase. But after three days, they reached the forge, and then the Miraluka left his acolyte to make his lightsaber, both the the crystals and the blade. The Chiss lost track of time as he meditated, focusing all of his energies into creating a crystal, imbuing it with Dark Forces, and then, finally, the crafting of the lightsaber itself. He didn't notice the passage of time; he didn't eat, he didn't sleep, until finally he held in his hands a lightsaber of his own. It glowed as red as his eyes.
Now, given that Llokin was 22, very much an adult, and trained strictly, harshly and thoroughly, Gethren could have easily released his pupil to become a full Knight; send him off on his own and with no Master. But the old Miraluka was not ready for that, and Llokin, for all he had seen was still naïve about his adopted culture in a lot of ways. He was continuing to study lightsaber forms under his master, and Gethren was still trying to see if he could pull the true destructive dark nature out of his pupil. One thing did change after he made his lightsaber; Llokin no longer spent every moment by his master's side. Instead, Gethren would send Llokin to search out ships, while he would scour planets. The Chiss found he enjoyed his raids on other ships more now that he took charge. The crew he went with did not trust the blue alien to lead them at first but that did nothing to deter Llokin; he stabbed one of the loudest dissenters and that seemed to quiet them down. Llokin proved very efficent at dealing with other ships, especially since the rules were simple; give anything of value to the Baleful Vronsk, or be destroyed. Most were happy to escape with their lives.
But when striking out on his own, Llokin became aware that the status quo was unsatisfactory for him. They ransacked pirates and smugglers and mercenaries, and though they grew scared of the Chiss and his compatriots, they did not cease in their lawlessness; the loss of a single shipment did not deter them in the slightest. This bothered him; such tolerance of criminals would never be permitted among the Chiss, or at least not as far as he knew. He wanted to do more. At the age of 24, he made his move. The first ship he came across he made a deal; work for himself and Gethren, or be destroyed. The smugglers chose their lives, and gave Llokin their fealty, and Gethren returned to find his single ship became a convoy.
The Miraluka master was not pleased by this development. He pulled Llokin aside and it was then that he revealed to the student his master plan which turned out to be nothing of the sort. Gethren was a parasite; he preyed off of the weak in order to finance his own very expensive habits which included drugs and various other depravities. He had taken Llokin on to increase his output, but he didn't want to split take with a large crew and he definitely didn't want to lead a convoy. This angered the Chiss; he finally saw the Miraluka as part of the same chaos that he so looked down on and he was no longer willing to put up with it. In a blind rage, he drew his lightsaber and charged at Gethren, starting a duel that could only end in death.
Gethren was the older and more experienced of the two by far; he had a better command of the Force. But Llokin was younger, stronger, and not as dependant on Force tactics. And for the first time, Llokin did not hold back his rage - for the first time he let the dark side truly control him. This gave him a slight advantage in the fight for Gethren had not expected this from him. But the advantage was slight – Gethren had a large bag of tricks at his disposal; techniques that he had not yet taught Llokin. The fight raged across the ship leaving a trail of destruction in their path. Several of the smugglers died – collateral damage in the struggle for power. Llokin was being overpowered, but he used everything at his disposal; knocking things into the Miraluka's path, picking up other weapons besides his own, and forcing his body to do more than it should be able to accomplish. Still, it didn't look like it would be enough; Gethren had great skill; and he managed to disarm Llokin's lightsaber; it flew out of the Chiss's hands and sliced through the leg of one of the engineers before coming to rest.
What should have ended Llokin's life then and there turned out to be his saving grace. The engineer had been carrying a bag of tools, which dropped and spilled in front of Llokin's feet. His analytical mind seeing the possibilities, he grabbed the nearest tool and lobbed it at Gethren's head, who immediately deflected it with his saber. But because his focus was on that, he failed to see Llokin's other hand holding a vibroknife. The Chiss got in past the Miraluka's guard and slit the old master's throat.
And so the student found he no longer needed the master.
Llokin found himself in command of two ships; what was left of the Baleful Vronsk and the new one which was simply called Knifegut. The Chiss, though he had studied command as a child, had no practial experience leading a flotilla, even a flotilla of two ships. This didn't worry him as much as it probably should have. By now the former smugglers had seen just how destructive the Dark Jedi could be, and fear helped a lot to keep them in line. His biggest problem was deciding what to do with them.
But this was something he had been toying with for years. The purpose of the CDEF was to explore and colonize the galaxy and expand Chiss interests. Given what he had seen of the universe thus far, Llokin thought he could do better. He could conquer; he could help make the Chiss the greatest power in the galaxy. He could make himself the greatest leader in the galaxy. But not without money, resources, an army of his own, a plan, and patience. Patience he had in abundance. The rest; not so much. He had two ships half-filled with scum, and that was about it. He had no connections, and he knew that if he were to go to the Chiss Ascendency with only that, he would be laughed at and turned away.
His first step was to aquire money, resources, and a base of operations. The convoy of ships, with the Dark Jedi Knight leading them, travelled first to Vaal on the tip of one of the Knifeguts' pilots. There they found a small compound run by a group of spice dealers; they clearly were relying on their remote location to keep them safe. Llokin found their defenses pitful and he and the rest of his crew managed to get in easily. He gave them the same option he had given the Knifegut – join him or be destroyed. Thus began Llokin's bid for power and quest to bring order to a chaotic universe. It was a slow, arduous process; Llokin could not afford to gain too much noteriety too quickly, but he also had to convince mercanaries, theives, smugglers, bandits, pirates, assassins, and dealers to work for him instead of working on their own. Fear of destruction could only go so far. So he often had to resort to the very same ways of making money that he looked down upon. When possible, however, his growing army would earn their keep by raiding other dens of iniquity; a method that Llokin called 'cleaning'.
Llokin did not neglect his training however; though he no longer had, nor felt that he needed a master; he realized that there was still much too learn. He would use dissenters to practice techniques he had learned under Gethren; both lightsaber and Force. It was not an ideal situation; without other Force users around, learning new techniques was difficult and hard to come by. Passing encounters with other Dark and Grey Jedi were the only chances he got; but he took advantage of it; carefully filing away whatever information they could give him to pour over and hone later back on the ship, or his homebase on Vaal.
But one did not just to attempt to take on the criminal element of the galaxy without fear of repercussion. Llokin's power grew over the course of several years as more and more people joined his fold, some of them even joining him voluntarily instead of being taken over by force. Not all of these new recruits were independent; some originally worked for very powerful syndicate; Hutts, nobles, shady officals, people who did not appreciate their incomes being overtaken by a strange alien from an unknown sector of the galaxy. As it turned out, not all of the people who joined Llokin's cause were loyal to it. Spies had infiltrated their midst, but Llokin was so assured of his own superiority that he failed to see what was under his nose, to his detriment.
He was off planet, working on selling some stolen tech when they hit. An aerial attack from an unknown origin swooped in and destroyed his facilities on Vaal, killing a large percentage of his army, destroying pretty much all of his ships, and reducing the compound to rubble. Llokin returned from his foray three days later; too late to find any indication of who or what attacked his people. His remaining followers were scattered; with everything in disarray, they took as much as they could for themselves and disappeared. Llokin had no way of knowing who ran because they were scared, or because they were the traitors that leaked information. To make matters worse; whoever it was clearly had a lot of clearance. The coffers had been nearly emptied; only Llokin's personal account was untouched. A ship, a small crew, and some money. That was all the Chiss had to show for nearly seven years of work. A devestating loss for anyone, but it was not one that deterred the Chiss. In fact, the setback made him only more determined to eradiacte chaos once and for all, starting with the people who nearly destroyed him the first time.
Starting from scratch wouldn't be easy, however, and after seven years, Llokin knew he would not be content with the slow pace from before. But if he wanted to rebuild, and quickly, he needed allies; people who shared his goals, and who had ties to enormous power. And he knew exactly where to start looking. It only started recently, but in his travels, the Dark Jedi Knight had been hearing rumors of the Sith. Not the aristocracy; but the Order, made of Force users like himself. These rumors were hushed and vague; but what he did hear was promising. These were people who had the power and ability to bring order. These were people who used the Dark Side of the Force. These were people who could help Llokin. If he could get a hold of them. For unfortunately, finding them was proving to be difficult for the Chiss; the Sith were not known for fair treatment of other races. And Llokin, with his strange blue skin and red eyes, was considered very alien indeed. All avenues he pursued came up as dead ends. The Chiss is nothing if not relentless though. He is determined to find the Sith, ally himself with them, and gain back everything he had lost and more. He intends to find the people who set him back, and destroy them; and then start anew on his path to domination.

“A disappointment.” Llokin sighed outloud as he sheathed his saber. Looking down at the lifeless form in front him, he started to wonder if his quest was entirely hopeless. After all, this was the fifth or sixth dead end he had encountered in the last month. A man with a sense of humor probably would have enjoyed the little joke – a dead end becoming a dead man – but the Chiss was not especially well known for his sense of humor. Especially not in this instance. He had arrived on this overly-populated world to try and find answers; a link to the Sith. Several datastreams and now-dead bodies had lead him to this Trandoshan; an ugly creature, but one that supposedly had information.
Alas, it was not to be. The Trandoshan spent his time whining about the Scorekeeper. When it became clear that he either did not know about the Sith, or that he had no intention of telling Llokin, the Dark Jedi had no choice but to kill him. It wasn't even good practice – the Trandoshan hadn't even pulled out a blaster or anything. One quick stab and it was all over.
The Chiss was aware that he would need to find something soon. He was running out of money and the few people he had with him were quickly losing respect. It seemed that what little Llokin had was melting away like the ice of Csilla on a warm day. He would not let that happen. He just didn't know how.
In the meantime, he needed to get out of the alleyway before anyone noticed the strange blue alien standing over a dead body. He started to turn; but a glint of something on caught Llokin's red eyes. A datapad. Perhaps that would be more forthcoming than the lizard-man.
He picked it up gingerly; not wanting to touch the disgusting creature any more than he had to, and not just because he wanted to avoid leaving any signs that could later be tied to him. Flicking through the datapad revealed several things; one was that this Trandoshan was almost paranoid about security – so much of the datapad's information was locked behind walls that Llokin couldn't even begin to unlock. A second was that he had been a bounty hunter with a family. Neither of these things were particularly important to Llokin, but the last thing he discovered was.
At least, it had the possibility of being important. It was just a name, and there was a chance that it meant nothing. But with no other leads to anything, Llokin wasn't about to discount anything. Livco. Llokin wasn't sure what it meant; it could be someone he worked for, it could be something he was pursuing. But if the Trandoshan was interested in it, than so was Llokin. The Chiss stowed the datapad in his belt and turned away from dead creature; stalking out of the alleyway without a second glance.

Child of the Chiss Ascendency
Birth – Ten
Birth – Ten
Brave New World
11-22
11-22
Red As His Eyes
Age 22 - 24
Age 22 - 24
Growing Strong
24-31
24-31
Betrayed
