One could say that she have three personality types within her though they would all be after the same thing and be aware of each other but they make her, her. There is the "Captain" personality which sees her crew as family, perhaps a dysfunctional and very different family but a family non the less. This personality loves to spend time with her crew, have fun with them and socialize. There is the "Diplomatic" personality which is determined to find a non violence way to any situation. Last but not least there is the "Warrior" personality, whenever a non violence option isn't available or if a violence act is needed this is when this personality acts up. These three personalities may be seen at the same time at many occasions because she does not suffer from any kind of multiple personality disorder, they are just parts of her that make up who she is.

Family
While Jade's father had a happy upbringing and a positive environment he always craved power, as a child he believed it would come with age so he chose to live and act as normal for awhile however he became more frustrated year after year as it didn't lead him anywhere. He left home, in a journey for power and after much searching he found the Jedi but they would not have him, because he was to old and to passionate to be able to control his emotion. Rejected he searched for the Sith, not that such an organization existed at this time but if it had it would be what he searched for. While the Jedi would not accept him he knew he was free from their restrictions and free to become powerful. Free to kill innocents, steal a better ship or to meditate on the dark side of the force would surely lead to the dark side and such freedom would also better guide him to the power he craved. His assumptions had been wrong and by the time he realized he was so deep into the dark side that he had to choose total redemption to the light side and forget his passions. His journey to the light side took him back to the Jedi's where he meet Jade's mother. He was lucky that he could replace his passion for power with love of his life, living only for her and their offspring.
Jade's grandfather was a good and honest man, that is until he had a daughter (Jades mother). When his wife gave birth she lost to much power and blood to recover. He blamed his daughter for his beloved wife departure and as such he sent her to the Jedi's as they would surely and legally accept a child of young age to be trained as a Jedi and with his daughter away he was free of responsibilities and could spend all his money on booze. His daughter would grow up with no recollection of her father and to become a fine Jedi, a bit weak in lightsaber combat but what she lacked in lightsaber combat she made up by her strength in the force and various force powers. On the verge of returning to the Jedi after a mission she fell twice, once for a man of the same species and secondly she fell from her Jedi teachings as she allowed herself to feel emotions for this man alone.
They left both the Sith and the Jedi in their past, they wanted peace and to be left alone. Weather or not they where pursued they didn't know but that didn't stop them from moving from place to place and never staying in one place for to long, it was their own little adventure. Their adventure and their love for each other eventually brought them a daughter, a daughter who's upbringing could be seen as a negative thing however she enjoyed it, more then so she loved it.
Her parents arrived on Corellia and her pregnant mother was, in human standards, in her seventh month with Jade and her twin brother Joshua. For two months their parents "nested", they made friends and formed connections, contacting any kind of "not so legal" captains such as a pirate captain, in order to quickly leave the planet if the need would come knocking on their door. It was a difficult birth, firstly it was hard because it was the first birth their mother had and considering they where twins it took more out of her then what she had imagined and secondly she was sick. Jade was the first born by a minute however she wasn't as healthy as Joshua had been. While she would become healthier as she grew up, Joshua would was not born force sensitive and would not grow into it. They stayed on Corellia for an additionally five month, not only to fix papers for their new babies but also as a means to let Jade grow healthy.
At the age of five months her family started to move again, jumping from a smugglers ship to a pirate ship and from a pirate ship to a mercenary ship, this lead to some strange connections, a few dangerous situations and some interesting friends but out of all their experiences the jewel was their daughter. Jade found a love for treasure hunting, exploring and adventure though while those qualities where never meant as harmful it sure led to her parents to skip a beat when she would try to communicate with a mercenary so bad that the rest of the crew would stay out of his way, though one could wonder if they really could communicate with each other as the both made about the same sense (a baby trying to learn how to talk and a man who isn't very verbal) or explore the inside of a beast cage trying to find out what the untamed creature is. Not only had she an adventurous spirit but she inherited her mothers inner harmony and because of that her parents thought it funny to jokingly telling each other that Jade was a born Jedi.
Until now Joshua had been the strongest out of the duo, he would win in whatever competition, childishly made up or not, combat or studies but what could one expect as she was a girl and he was a boy however she preferred real adventures and exploration over combat training and reading history and such. On the night to their tenth birthday she had a dream, a vision, no. The force had guided her, opening her up to the path she was destined to take, breaking all the Jedi rules as she was too young to receive her Jedi vision and it wasn't guided by true Jedi masters. The vision had been a simple one, it showed her pictures of possible futures. The vision tested her courage to brave the dangers each associated possible future might hold or if she would seek the easy path cleansed from all dangers. While this vision didn't or couldn't reveal the future it led her on a path that she would love to discover and see where that path would lead her or perhaps where she would lead the path.
The Talvani family had a different way of celebrating birth then most, even among their own species. Due to her parents past they had decided that their kids would have the freedom to do anything and anywhere, it was their call or judgment that mattered, within reason of course, if they didn't know how to complete a task they chose for them self then they knew they could ask their parents for philosophy, training or other kinds of advice. Every year they make a single promise, to choose a profession, a path or otherwise something which will guide how they will live for that year. Joshua's promise had always been to become stronger and Jade's had either been to be an explorer, a treasure hunter and an adventurer, one such thing every year. When it was her turn to answer the call and make such a commitment she sat in a meditative stance, she locked up to see her parents and twin and a grin came across her lips not long after. The answer to their questions where easy, she would become the queen of the stars, what she meant by it nobody seemed to know and her parents didn't want her to make commitment that she wouldn't be able to complete as she wasn't of royal blood she would never become a queen. She required all the combat training that her parents could cram into her tiny skull, this would include both the force and lightsaber training.
Queen of the Stars
First she would need to know how to defend herself bare-handed and as such she took lessons from her parents whenever there where time however the training they had to offer was to rusty and "nice". She made deals with the crew members across the different ships her family traveled with, she would clean for some lessons in "real" fighting and eventually she would join their tournaments. While the tournaments wasn't really tournament but just a way to pass time and earn money, if you are the winner, they would fight each other until one was declared a winner. This pattern continued for 10 years, not that the training lasted that long but as she took in what she saw, heard and felt she gained more life experience then what had not been necessary if she had only gone after the training itself, in fact it would have taken her 2 years, well really only one year to learn what she did if she hadn't needed to wait for the next boat and the next.
For ten years her parents had not celebrated their kids birthday per their traditions but instead given them presents in a form to help their kids accomplish their decided future but this year they would ask, this was the new tradition or the old one expanded. On her 21 birthday she got a practice lightsaber and begun training forms most suited to her (Shii-Cho, Shien, Backhanded, Niman, Dual Wield, Juyo), every form took 20 years to train, this was because she mastered each form in about 10 year but traveled the world alone on one mission or another to become more experienced in each form and this mission would last equally the time it took for her to learn the technique.
After 10 years of learning the first form of the light sabers Jade set out to find her lightsaber crystal and parts that would feel like an extension of herself, once assembled. Armed with a lightsaber and a knife (the knife would not be for combat), the lightsaber had been given to her as a gift from her parents as a practice saber, it had to be real as she would face real danger. With some cash she was left on Tattooine, Jades planet of choice even though her mother urged her to go to Illum for the crystal. She walked through the desert with some water and some few know how, it was enough for her to survive the harsh climate. Whenever she came into conflict with what seemed to be sentient species she would seek a diplomatic solution though she never hesitated to kill her opponents if her first approach didn't work.
It took many scorching hot days of walking and an equally amount of cold nights to reach a cave, something else then the endless snowy horizon, this was a welcomed sight. Barely inside she sat down in the shadows, leaning on the rocky wall and swiping her forehead and then continued to take up her canteen and take a few drops of water to stay hydrated. As she stood up again she decided to brush of whatever sand was on her clothes not that it helped to much but she didn't need to look like... Well, as if she had been walking in a desert. She was halfway through taking a deep breath when she was interrupted with a fleeing Jedi, though she couldn't make out if the Jedi was fleeing or if it was a tactical move as the Jedi seemed to have greater maneuverability out in the open. A Terentatek came shortly after and attacked the Jedi whom seemed to be rather calm and defended himself, Jade could easily tell that the man was more talented in force powers then in lightsaber combat as he would ask for help and tell Jade that the Terentatek had some immunities toward force powers and the Jedi was just a bit sloppy in his lightsaber combat.
Jade decided to help and with the two of them it was considerably easier to slay the beast but not before she got the beast big hand/paw thing with claws on the left side of her chest, pushing her away, surely this act must have been meant as an attack instead of a sign that the non-sentient beast wanted a one-on-one fight. The Jedi did what he could to heal her with the force but she would always have scars as a reminder of her first real fight, though she was more nauseated over how the Jedi asked for forgiveness over the fact that he couldn't heal her completely. The Jedi thanked Jade and asked a lot of questions, such as if she was a Jedi, maybe a padawan, was this a trial for her or perhaps she was of the dark side, an enemy in search for him.
She was in fact not a Jedi nor was she his enemy as he hadn't done her anything wrong. Her next actions would lead towards further questions as she cut open the beast and cut out a piece of the spine and some of its skin though while she was doing that she noticed something strange in the beast. Whatever that strange thing was she couldn't see behind the gut of the animal though she could clearly see the form of something behind it, she couldn't help her curiosity and picked it up and dried it of from the blood with sand because she knew that sand would absorb the moist we call blood. While the sand would take about thirty minutes to dry and fall of off whatever it was she decided to be social and answer whatever questions the Jedi had, almost demanding her own answers as a show of great sport after all she had answered his.
Once the sand started to dry up in the heat and fall of off the thing she discovered two crystals, one red and one blue, her guess was that one was from a Jedi and the other was from a dark/grey Jedi and it could either be that the two had killed each other and the beast had eaten them together or her other guess was that they had been killed and eaten at separate times. She felt the force formed a bond with both crystals and didn't want to throw away any of them as they where bonded to her, they where hers. She said her goodbyes to the Jedi and packed her newly acquired items including the crystals, the spine and the skin. She stayed on Tattooine for a total of 10 years to gain experience with the Shii-Cho form.
Her journey back was as harsh as it was getting there, maybe more so now that she wasn't up to her best. Once back to anything resembling anything civilized she took a shuttle back to the smuggler ship her parents currently was on. Back on board, she took quite the pride on her battle scar as she instigated it in the shower, the shower combined with a fine meal and a night rest in her more comfortable sleeping arrangements and she was as new. The next day she took out the items she had taken from the beast, she started by hollowing out the spine for a perfect fit for the crystal, then added the skin on the spine tightly to make for a good grip and somewhat of an ancient look of the lightsaber and in the spine was the red crystal.
For 30 years she trained in Niman, Shien and in its sub-form and in the next 30 years she joined a mercenary vessel with good and honest men and women who fought for the republic, they traveled in republic space and sought mission there. Most of them where ex-military who where "to old" to be allowed to serve and others where Jedi or "grey Jedi" who had left the order to follow their emotions, mostly their love for another Jedi but they all had two things in common firstly they needed a source of income and secondly they wanted to aid the republic. Since most of them where ex-military they had some connections in the republic which made it easier to get mission and not be seen as trash who do anything for money.
Many missions and volunteer help later they came upon a mission with a bunch of dark sided Jedi with twisted views of how the Jedi order should do things, such as that they should be allowed to feel emotion and be free from prejudice or to be allowed to kill an innocent to steal his or hers star ship in order to get to a battle field quickly and much faster aid in war. On this mission however most of the old ex military was killed and as a result Jade killed a dark Jedi and took his lightsaber to then attempt to slaughter the rest but after a few kills she failed as she was cut, almost dodging the enemy saber brazed her chest, cutting the skin allowed her old injury to reopen. She woke up a week after, while her wounds weren't that bad that they would warrant a week to recover her mental state was another thing as the crew had become as a family for her.
She found out that she had inspired the others to complete her revenge, if any enemy had gotten away they had masked their presence pretty well. As she was the one who had reacted most strongly, had been the most injured and had the loyalty from the rest of the crew she became the new leader, though she resisted at first, telling herself that she would never be as good as the previous leader nor wished she to replace anyone but eventually she accepted the honor. She built her second lightsaber from parts found in the leaders cabin, those parts had been the leaders reminder of what he could become if he had wanted to as he had been force sensitive. As she looked upon the parts Jade decided that she would use the force for him, every part was there besides the color crystal, but then again she had her own, the blue one she found in Tattooine. For 40 years she practiced the Jar-Kai and Juyo forms, the first 20 was only the learning curve but the other 20 years was earning experience in said forms.
On a nostalgic night with some whiskey she remembered the previous leader and wondered why she had chosen this way of life when she remembers, she was gonna become the queen of the stars. She remembered her ideals, which where still the ones she believed to this day, though once forgotten. The plan was to create a mercenary empire, built upon several ships with the same values but different ways to accomplish their goals and the goal would be to create world peace by whatever means possible.
