“Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends with them?”
A small fish in a big sea full of sharks. She goes into the universe armed only with the faith her late caretaker placed in her and an a 9mm handgun. Still just a kid but with some very good help at her back, she takes a lightly armed freighter out into the inky blackness to make a name for herself. She is his legacy, now she goes off to make her own.

"This is Victor-nine-eight, Sierra flight, I'm taking a pounding, where the hell are you!" Yelled Andrea indignantly into her helmet microphone as she manipulated the joystick and foot pedals. The plane made a hard starboard bank that turned into an aileron roll as a cluster of missiles on her number 5 hardpoint unlocked and streaked off. In the distance, two enemy craft exploded.
This was not a good situation at all. Even if she was flying the new Super-Sylph air frame, a flight of two advanced fighter-planes and 8 star fighters against a flight of 25, now 23 star fighters was not a good match. It was also compounded by the fact that there was a half constructed dreadnought sitting on the surface of the planet. The Alliance had found out the enemy had amassed the resources to construct one and had launched an attack to make sure it would not be built. Sadly, the information came a bit late and the dreadnought, while not airworthy, still had its guns and shields operational.
Andrea yanked the joystick hard and barely managed to avoid a burst of gunfire that streaked by behind her. A cannon shot still splashed against her shields though, which sent the fighter into a short tumble before the advanced systems managed to correct it. She looked up out of the canopy window to attempt to get a view of her foe.
She saw him. A light interceptor, which would explain it catching up to her even at her high supersonic combat speed. She smirked. This fool would be excellent practice. Using her plane's advanced avionics, she flipped the fighter over and sped after her foe as the computer's AI began calculating a firing solution. The crosshairs turned red as the enemy began taking evasive maneuvers.
Too late.
Andrea depressed the firing stud on the joystick and the hum of the Gatling blaster's motor filled her ears for one second. In that one second, 110 rounds streaked out to meet the target, splashing against and battering down the shields before striking the fleeing interceptor. It exploded into a satisfactory ball of flame but Andrea didn't notice it. She had already started using her helmet eye tracking function to designate more targets.
The furball had not abated and advanced alliance fighter aces clashed against the cheaper but more numerous enemy. Andrea winced as one of her comrades exploded into flame right as she finished targeting a heavier interceptor.
"Hold together guys! We just need to hold on until Amatsukaze gets here, then we can scram."
She depressed the firing stud and the two missiles attached to her number 1 hardpoint shot out. The enemy attempted to evade but the missiles were simply too fast. Another fireball lit in the sky.
"Captain! This is Amatsukaze. You and your forces are to pull back immediately. Star fighters are to attempt to make for orbit while the two fighters are to make for the carrier Hiryu. We'll cover you guys. Over."
"Amatsukze. How come we're pulling back. We can win this." she asked incredulously as she complied none-the-less. As she turned to retreat, the other fighter plane she was with exploded into flames. This was just before a barrage of missiles streaked up from above and started chasing the enemy fighters.
"No, we can't. A battle fleet just appeared on our sensor net. We need to wreck this ship before that happens. You get what I'm saying?"
Andrea's mind temporarily went blank as she let the plane's autopilot figure out the best route to get to the coordinates that had been transmitted. Then her blank face shifted to horror.
"Shipwreck?" she asked.
"Yeah. Get a move on captain! Battleship Akatsuki just launched it two seconds ago."
"Roger! I'm on my way!"
She reached down and tapped on the autopilot. The joystick suddenly started wrestling with her again as she pressed the button for the afterburners. The plane lurched as a miniature fusion explosion detonated behind a magnetic pusher plate and sent her acceleration skyrocketing. Quickly, the carrier Hiryu came into sight. The shipwreck missile, fired from orbit, suddenly was visible as a streak of ionized gas following the starlike glow of the engine.
She looked at the counter that appeared in front of her, counting down the time until missile impact. The mouth of the hanger was still to far away though and she would not make it in time. She slammed down on the Orion drive again. The plane sped up. She hit it again.
The image of the hanger grew as counter ticked down.
She shot into the hanger just before the timer hit zero. She opened her eyes again to find that she was once again in the chat room for the carrier Hiryu. She looked around before she spoke up again. "You guys do know that the game mods are gonna be mad right? I mean, we just wrecked this entire mission and an entire habitable planet."
"We know that Vagabond, but it just takes a few minutes to make a new planet on the randomizer."
"Yeah, it takes a few minutes to make a new planet, but it takes hours and a server reboot to put it in. I don't know why I joined up with you guys. This was supposed to be different from our MO."
"Well, our MO does get things done."
"But you can't just blow up every hostile planet we find! Now I know why we're trapped in zero-sec, everyone's afraid we'll Shipwreck them and with good reason too!"
[two hours and much arguing later]
