Name: Nagandro Rextyle
Age: 35
Race: Human
Birth place: Ammuud
Height: 5’ 11”
Weight: 190 lbs.
Eye Color: Green
Hair Color: Blond
Appearance:
Nagandro is a tall, strong-looking man. Despite his training as a consular, he has a fighter’s build. He has lightly tanned skin and long, thick, wavy blond hair that he usually leaves wild and unkempt. He has a strong face with a jawline that is sometimes speckled with dark stubble. His eyes are hazel, with a dark green rim around the iris, a more natural green for the main body of the iris, and a few speckles of brown near the pupil. He has several slashing scars on his body, primarily on his arms and torso, some more noticeable than others.
His general stature gives one the impression of strength and regality. His posture always straight and unyielding, he face composed and stern. His movements are usually swift and graceful, rarely hindered by minor obstacles such as rocks or crowds. While his stride may be considered majestic, or his posture stoic, his enemies may describe him as having the visage of a predatory feline stalking his prey with careful, quiet precision.
His wardrobe is reminiscent of his former life as a Jedi, consisting of a simple tunic with a leather obi belt and leather boots. He doesn’t wear the same clothes every day, of course, and thus has prompted him to have varying colors. His tunics are usually either a dark shade of blue, violet, or completely black, while his belts and boots are all made of black leather. In addition to these, he will often wear a black cloth cape that covers only his left shoulder, to cover his lightsaber when it is not needed. To top off his outfit, he wears grey Nexu fur pauldrons to create a more distinctive look. In addition to this, he wears a silver hoop earring in his left ear and a pair of black leather bracers on his wrists.
Personality:
Nagandro is a very kind man, always willing to offer help to those in need. Rarely will he refuse assistance to the weak or oppressed. He holds the Republic and the Jedi Order in high regard, even if he does not always see eye to eye with them. That said, he does occasionally come across as gullible when the cries for help are earnest enough or if there are…other incentives. He is a very clever ex-Jedi, using his wits and charm to manipulate two sides to form an agreement, or even intimidate an enemy into backing down. Needless to say, when it comes to negotiations, Nagandro would always try to find a more peaceable route before drawing his blade. Those who manage to see through or witness him pulling the strings, however, will likely find it difficult to trust him, as they may never know when he is twisting his words.
Not only does this Grey Jedi care for people, but he cares a great deal about wildlife. He has always loved animals and had a natural talent for befriending the more gentle wild creatures. He often enjoys the company of droids, as well, finding their individual programming quirks amusing and is not opposed to enlisting the help of a droid when it is needed. All of this said, he tends to keep politicians and businessmen at arms’ length, well aware that he is not the only one capable of using guile to manipulate others. He can be a very loyal friend and ally when a bond has been formed, something he does not take lightly.
Nagandro has always been a curious man, as well. It was this curiosity that inevitably led to his leaving the Order. He has always been curious of the darkside. He found it strange that the Jedi would condemn a part of the Force that occurs naturally, even if it were to be used for the benefit of others. His curiosity and studies have led to practice and, as a result, he has developed some skill in its use, but is always careful to not lose himself to the darkness. That said, he has let himself experience emotion and passion, learning to keep himself composed but letting those feelings give him strength. This is not to imply that he does not indulge in other activities the Jedi have forbidden. He has learned to enjoy both the company of men and women in more intimate scenarios, and while he has enjoyed himself, he does seek to settle down eventually. With this touch of darkside, he has become very confident with his competency in the Force and skills with a lightsaber, but has unfortunately developed a more aggressive fighting style and some vanity, contributing to his unique wardrobe and electrum-plated lightsaber hilt.

Bio:
Pre-Jedi
Nagandro was born on Planet Ammuud in the Outer Rim. Had he not been discovered by the Jedi, he would have lived an advantaged life as an upper class citizen in the clan of House Glayyd. He was the second child in the family, but he was the first-born son to Tengandro and Zana Rextyle. His elder sister by seven years was called Vatari and his younger brother born two years after him was Kitsandro, though he hadn’t been born yet when the Jedi arrived. In addition to the household was his uncle on his mother’s side, Bando Tesflor, whom was left crippled after House Glayyd clashed with the Almowri clan several years before.
Nagandro was so young at the time that he would later have no memories of his life with the Rextyle family. He was well taken care of while living with them, of course, but fate would bring a pair of Jedi Ambassadors to the cold planet, seeking to bring peace to the clans and earn their loyalty to the Republic. Unfortunately, peace could not be met, nor would the matriarchs of each clan offer loyalty to the Republic. Luckily, things did not turn violent in this failed negotiation, and the pair of Jedi were merely asked to leave as soon as their ship was repaired and refueled.
Just as they planned to return to the hangar, however, the Master of the pair could feel the presence of a force-sensitive on the planet. This led him and his Padawan to the Rextyle household. Feigning the need for a place to rest for the night, the two Jedi convinced the family to let them rest in their spare room. While staying at the Rextyle home, the Jedi Master got along with Zana, earning her trust before mentioning the potential in her infant son. While Tengandro slept, Zana gave the Jedi permission to draw blood from her child to test his midi-chlorian count. Just as the Jedi had suspected, his midi-chlorian count was within the normal range for potential Jedi.
The idea, however, was not very well-accepted by Tengandro. He flew into a rage when the Master suggested he take Nagandro to be trained as a Jedi. He was later soothed by Zana when she reminded him that their second child—another boy—was on the way. With great reluctance, and with Zana’s reassurance that their son would achieve great things, Tengandro finally accepted and the Jedi returned to Coruscant with their new passenger aboard.
Initiate
Life in the Jedi Temple was, as one might expect, not an easy one. Upon his acceptance into the Jedi Order, he was enlisted in the Squall Clan, the family of alacrity. In this clan, he would not only learn to utilize physical speed, but would also attune his mind and wits to quickly adapt to situations. He was a borderline above-average student, excelling in his many different forms of training. At first, he found it difficult to adhere to his meditation sessions, but as he grew older he found the outside world less and less distracting while focusing on his sessions. He made quite a few close friends in the clan and held a great deal of promising potential.
Always eager to learn and train, Nagandro and a few of his closer friends would spend a great deal of time in the Temple Library. Nagandro was very closely drawn to the study of wildlife and other forms of nature on distant planets as well as the numerous languages spoken on . His favorite part of his training, however, focused on the Force itself, learning what he truly had the potential to accomplish. Lightsaber combat was another favorite activity, learning to use his speed to his advantage when sparring, quickly learning the basics of Shii-Cho and dabbling in the art of Makashi and Soresu. Self-discipline, however, was probably the most difficult for him to practice. He always found that his personality tended towards the wild and rambunctious. When he was warned that such behavior had potential to be lured to the darkside by one of his instructors—Jedi Consular named Isar, a Miraluka—he knew he had to change. With great difficulty, he began to keep better control of himself, finding that his favorite place to meditate was the Room of a Thousand Fountains, the sounds of the water pouring and rippling helping him to achieve an inner peace. During this time, he made an impression on Isar, who was impressed by his increasing skills and knowledge.
At the age of thirteen, he was ready to face the Initiate Trials. The approaching day worried him occasionally, but he was able to calm himself through deep meditation, burying the fears that temporarily lurked within him with serenity. The first trial was by far the simplest, reciting the Jedi Code and demonstrating his understanding.
His next trial was to demonstrate self-discipline. The first part was a test of his ability to meditate, and at first he was still quite confident. That is, until a Master reminded him that up until now, he had relied on the Room of a Thousand Fountains to focus. This caused a brief moment of doubt, but went on to meet the challenge. He was surprised to find that reaching a meditative state was easier than expected, even outside of the Room. After a few moments, he felt his worries dissipate once more, purged through Empty Meditation.
Having passed the first part of this trial, Nagandro moved onto demonstrate his skills in lightsaber combat. He was pitted against another student in his clan and the two put forth their best efforts. The movements were swift, but very precise. Neither student aimed to strike a ‘killing’ blow, but rather attempted to disarm the other. After several minutes, the two Initiates were still at it, until Nagandro managed to outmaneuver his fellow student and strike his lightsaber hilt, opting to avoid making contact with his hands. Nagandro was pleased that he had won the duel, and further pleased to learn that both he and his sparring partner passed their second trial, praised on their choices to try and win by disarming rather than going for a fatal strike.
The final trial threatened to be the most difficult, demonstrating his prowess in utilizing the Force, letting it flow through him. Facing the instructors, Nagandro was presented with a task. One of his fellow Inititates from the Squall Clan had fled the Temple, his overwhelming fear and anger regarding his struggle to keep up with the others in the Clan threatened to turn him over to the darkside. His task was to find this Initiate and convince him to return to the Temple to quell his growing darkness and achieve peace once more. Immediately, Nagandro went on his task. He let the Force guide him to the terrified Initiate. He could feel the crippling fear radiating from a dark alley and found the Youngling trembling and clutching a practice saber tightly.
Sensing his arrival, the deserter immediately turned on his lighstaber and threatened to harm Nagandro if he attempted to bring him back to the Temple. Nagandro was taken aback by the rage he now felt emanating from his fellow student. When he first began to negotiate with the young boy, it didn’t start off well. The deserter lunged forward, wildly slashing at Nagandro, believing he could incapacitate him long enough to flee. His foe, however, was much faster. Nagandro managed to seize the boy’s wrist as he attempted to jab his saber forward and quickly disposed of the hilt. While disabled, Nagandro reminded the deserter of the support that he would always find in the Squall Clan and that his competence would grow as he learned more and remained disciplined. What finally saved the deserter from losing himself to the darkness was the reminder that not all Younglings move on to become Padawans, but that there were other honorable positions within the Order that he could find himself in.
The pair later returned to the Temple, the deserter forgiven for his actions. As the two described their encounter to the instructors, they were impressed that he managed to neutralize his target without the use of a weapon or relying on a telekinesis or mind tricks. With his success, Nagandro passed his trials. Fortunately for him, the Consular that had taken an interest in him before, was one of his instructors. Shortly after being dismissed to his quarters, Isar meditated on the subject of taking on the young human as her Padawan. She strongly felt the Force guiding her to do so, and as such approached him the following morning and gave him the joyous news.
Padawan
Life as a Padawan was drastically different than the life of a Youngling. The training was harsher, stricter, and far more rewarding. He got to leave the Temple on numerous missions with his Master, and he couldn’t have been more honored that the Miraluka had chosen him as her apprentice. In addition to his initial training, Isar schooled Nagandro in the art and science of lightsaber construction. Under her tutelage, he became very familiar with the various parts required for the creation of a Jedi weapon. After a few months of studying and training, he was taken to Dantooine where he began his journey to creating his blade. After finding a green crystal that he felt draw him near, he meditated with it, tuning it to his mind and use of the Force.
After he had done so for a few days, he began work on his attempts to create his lightsaber. With all the parts at his disposal, he began to experiment, trying to find the perfect matches and successfully align the innards of the hilt. Unfortunately, this proved to be a difficult task, even with his studies. It was one thing to study a subject, he learned, and quite another to do it in practice. The process took well over a month, in part due to the Force guiding him to create a curved hilt. This unusual feature required more studying and delayed his success, but he did finally manage to create his blade before the end of his second month on Dantooine. Isar warned him that such a lightsaber would be far more difficult to handle, given his prior use of a standard hilt, but he was ready to adapt and meet the challenge.
When Nagandro first began to train with Isar, he was astounded by how little he seemed to know. Her speed and skill with a lightsaber was baffling to him, as was her extensive knowledge of the Force. When they would spar, Isar would have to remind him that he had only just begun to learn the more practical applications of his studies and that he was not yet meant to be at her level of accomplishment at such a young age. At first, this information was hard to swallow. Nagandro wanted to excel, he wanted to impress his master, and he wanted to become powerful.
The more he thought about it, the more dangerous he realized his feelings were becoming. Such ambition to acquire power was a path to the darkside, and if left unchecked, could corrupt him. He voiced his concerns to Isar, worried that such thoughts in only his first year training with her was a bad sign for what may come. She reassured him, however, that even she had such feelings when she was a Padawan, but learned to dissolve such thoughts through meditation. He took her advice and, slowly but surely, his strong ambition to become an incredibly powerful Jedi faded into a need to simply become a helpful ally within the Republic.
Isar taught Nagandro many things, including her knowledge of lightsaber forms. She began with the most basic form, Shii-Cho, expanding upon what he had learned as a Youngling. While Nagandro did learn how to use this form effectively, he felt it was too blocky and easy to overcome. Even as he progressed through the years, he felt he needed something more effective for dueling. He demonstrated this need while they were on a mission to Devaron to negotiate with their government to release a known crime lord from Coruscant into their custody. After the negotiations had succeeded and they prepared to board their ship with the newly apprehended criminal, they were ambushed by the crime lord’s gang, armed with lightfoils and blasters. They had waited for the most opportune moment to rescue their leader, with the two Jedi walking right into a trap.
The battle didn’t last long, with the two Jedi coming out on the losing side. The pair managed to fend off the criminals for the most part, with Isar disarming and disabling nearly all of them. Nagandro managed to take out a few of the ranged attackers using the Force to hurl heavy objects at them, rendering them unconscious. He then engaged in melee combat with two criminals, slashing through one of the enemy’s hands and lightfoil sabers, but found himself struck in the side by the other. It would have been a killing blow had the criminal not faltered in mid-swing, fearing he would suffer the fate of his handless comrade.
As he fell to the ground, overcome with the excruciating, searing pain, Isar came to his aid and subdued his attacker. In the scuffle, the gang disabled the Jedi ship and fled Devaron, leaving their would-be captors stranded temporarily. This failure to apprehend the crime lord created tension between the two Jedi and the Devaron government. While Nagandro recovered in the medical facilities, Isar informed him that he would, indeed, need to move on to more lightsaber forms, and they would as soon as she informed the Council of their failure.
Trial of the Flesh
Fortunately, their folly’s only consequence was to pursue the crime lord and bring him back to the Republic for judgment. As they did so, travelling from planet to planet and gathering intelligence on possible locations, they continued to train both in the art of lightsaber combat and the ways of the Force. During this time, Nagandro proved to have a natural aptitude in using the Force as well as a natural grace while learning both Makashi and Niman, though he was still at the beginning levels. Before long, they tracked the crime lord to Umgul where he and only a handful of his gang resided. Their numbers had been drastically decreased as they traveled the universe to escape the Republic’s justice, killed by natives and animals on other planets as well as diseases and distrust among the ranks.
Finding him on the planet was not difficult, as it was the only building that had a pair of Nexu patrolling the outside, an act that Nagandro found inhumane for the glorious beasts and quite foolish on the gang’s part. The pair planned to sneak in past the Nexu and convince the crime lord to give in peacefully. Things didn’t go as well as they had planned, however. As they approached on either side of the building, Nagandro accidentally caught the eye of one of the Nexu, prompting it to spring into attack. It pounced on him and slashed at him with its razor sharp claws, tearing up his robes and arms. He only barely managed to keep the snapping jaws at bay before he used the Force to push the beast off of him. His wounds stung and he bled profusely, but he kept his breathing steady and focused on the situation at hand rather than his injuries. He was in danger and needed to protect himself.
Finally, the beast lunged at him again and, without hesitation, Nagandro performed a flourish Isar had taught him to sever the creature’s front legs in one sweep, sidestep, then slash downward to decapitate the animal. Knowing their cover had been blown, Isar used her own power to influence the other Nexu, forcing it to back down and rest so it could be apprehended when their mission was complete. Nagandro didn’t have time to let his mind dwell on his actions. He quickly joined Isar in what was assumed to be an assault on the gang, but they found the criminals weak, starving, and half-dead. The arrest was short with the criminals locked into the ship’s brig, the remaining Nexu muzzled and bound, ready to be sent back to its native planet: Cholganna.
Nagandro, however, found himself overcome with a crushing sadness as he saw the body of the animal he had killed. He didn’t want to kill the creature, but he felt he had to in order to stay alive. Isar reminded him that death was part of life and reminded him that, while Jedi attempt to find ways around killing their foes, sometimes it is the only choice. He understood that, but he felt that killing such a creature was a violation against the living Force. He felt tainted by his actions. Sensing his growing fears, Isar offered to teach him a power she had learned from her Master: the ability to influence the mind of an animal. Hoping to use such a power to make an animal retreat or become friendly rather than attacking, Nagandro readily agreed, but only after he wanted to give himself a grim reminder of what he had done.
Before they left, Nagandro took it upon himself to skin the Nexu and treated it while on the ship back to Coruscant, keeping its pelt as an everlasting reminder that he had killed a creature out of fear and vowed to never do such a thing again. It wasn’t until after they left Umgul that Nagandro began to feel the pain from his wounds again, but suppressed them through meditation. Even with his clumsiness in finishing this mission, Isar reported his resistance to the pain inflicted upon him to the Council. Without his knowledge, having survived and endured his wounds from the Nexu attack, he had passed the Trial of the Flesh.
Trial of Skill
Through the years, Nagandro showed more and more progress both with lightsaber combat and his knowledge of the Force. He impressed Isar with how his eagerness fueled his training with the ability to influence a beast’s mind. After a few years of constant training and several missions, Isar appealed to the Council for Nagandro to partake in the Trial of Skill. The request was accepted and the pair returned to the Jedi Temple. One evening at the Temple, he was summoned to a training room.
Nagandro found himself in the pristine training room with two droids standing before him, wielding standard-issue lightsabers. He was greeted by the Jedi Masters and was instructed to fight the two droids. To make things more difficult, a few panels on the floor lit up and several were removed. His further instructions were to avoid stepping on the lit up panels, as well as the areas with missing panels. This wasn’t going to be an easy task. He knew that the Council didn’t offer simple tests to aspiring Padawans. He would have to try his hardest to defeat his opponents, but at the same time, he needed to remember to avoid completely destroying the droids if he could manage it.
The battle itself wasn’t entirely difficult. The droids were fairly predictable, and avoiding the moving panels proved to be less of a challenge than he suspected. It wasn’t long before victory would present itself. He lured the pair of droids close to each other, then made his move. With a quick flourish, he severed the first droid’s sword-arm then used the Force to push it across the room. Apart from its missing arm, the droid remained intact. The remaining droid attempted to jab forward, aiming for Nagandro’s gut, but he managed to dodge to the side, offering just enough time to bring his blade down on the droid’s lightsaber, splitting the hilt in half and rendering it weaponless. As soon as he was sure it was harmless, he deactivated his own saber, but the test was not over.
He turned to see his Master, Isar, enter the room. As she did, the panels were set back into the floor and Nagandro was given his final instructions: lower his lightsaber to training settings and engage his Master in a duel. For a brief moment, Nagandro felt fear grip at his chest, but he pushed it away. He remembered that Isar warned him to not worry about comparing himself to her. If he couldn’t defeat her, it was to be expected. The two then ignited their blades and went head-to-head.
Even Nagandro was impressed at his skills while they dueled. Perhaps it was because he had trained with Isar for so long, but he was able to counter and match her strikes swiftly. Towards the end of the duel, Isar used the Force on him to launch him across the room. He struck the wall and was dazed for a moment, though he still held onto his lightsaber tightly. Isar leaped forward, prepared to land the blow that would end the duel, even if it meant that her pupil would not progress onto Knighthood. It was a cold fact of the Jedi Order, but it was out of necessity. She did not predict, however, that Nagandro could feel her presence as she drew near. While still dazed, he instinctively felt her close the distance between them and, just before she landed, he swiftly stood up and slashed his lightsaber at her hand.
Shocked, Isar’s sword-hand was numbed by the strike and she accidentally dropped her lightsaber, disarmed. Her Padawan was also surprised by his victory, and stood almost frozen for a good while. The overseers were pleased with his success, as was Isar, and informed him that he had passed his Trial of Skill. While Nagandro was convinced his victory was a fluke, perhaps due to a brief moment of carelessness on Isar’s part, she reassured him that if it were so, the Council wouldn’t have let him pass the trial. So he savored his progress, now a bit more excited at the prospect of becoming a Jedi Knight.

”There is no emotion, there is peace.
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.”
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.
There is no passion, there is serenity.
There is no chaos, there is harmony.
There is no death, there is the Force.”
