"Here's why you can't exterminate us, aruetii. We're not huddled in one place—we span the galaxy. We need no lords or leaders—so you can't destroy our command. We can live without technology—so we can fight with our bare hands. We have no species or bloodline—so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us. We're more than just a people or an army, aruetii. We're a culture. We're an idea. And you can't kill ideas—but we certainly can kill you."
This is the guide for the Mandalorian culture and how it fits into SWU. Within you’ll find information regarding their organization, culture and history in regards to the site. We won’t delve into their history before our lore, just focusing specifically on the Mandalorians and SWU.

The Clans
The Mandalorian culture is a feudal society of clans. Each clan is lead by a chieftain, who is the very embodiment of what their clan stands for. Every clan is known among the Mandalorians for different things. Some are famed smiths, some legendary saboteurs, others master of the blade. Though every Mandalorian doesn’t necessarily have to follow their clan specialty, it is rare for one not to want to follow in their ancestor’s footsteps.
Within their clan, each Mandalorian has a role they perform. Whether that be a medic, shopkeep, firearm instructor, the only thing that matters is that it benefits their people. Besides these rolls, every Mandalorian is a warrior. Trained by their families from a young age, there is no such thing as a pacifist Mandalorian.
It is the norm for Mandalorians born into the culture to take their clan name as their surname. Most tend to distrust other Mandalorians who clearly do not have this, and may treat them as more of an outsider than a clansmen. Major clans are listed below, but not limited to this list:

Beskar'gam
The armor Mandalorians are so famous for. Easily the most culturally significant item for them, their armor is as recognizable to another Mandalorian as their faces. Contrary to popular belief, all beskar’gam is not just super heavy plates. The durability and resistances of beskar’gam are as much in their forging as in the metal’s latent capabilities. With this a Mandalorian’s armor could be as light as they wanted, and still offer ample protection from harm.
Beskar’gam is more than just armoring though. Each one is made to fit the Mandalorian perfectly. Every plate perfectly measured, underweave expertly tailored, and cybernetics skillfully applied and programed. The armor is as much a complicated suite of technology as it is a protective shell. Even the HUD of a Mandalorian’s helm is custom tailored for the owner.
With this, Mandalorian armor is nigh impossible for an outsider to use. Given its cultural significance, no Mandalorian would ever gift an outsider with one. On SWU beskar’gam is restricted ONLY for Mandalorians to use.
Just as culturally significant as besakar’gam, the basilisk war droid was once one of the most powerful tools of war known to the galaxy. Part war machine, part loyal steed, these droid are programmed more akin to animal levels of sentience over true AI. Through the actions of the past few Mandalores, these droids once again join their Mandalorian masters in the current crusade.
Being bonded with a basilisk is considered a great honor in Mandalorian society, and only those who have shown themselves loyal and worthy to the current Mandalore are ever gifted with one. About one in every three hundred Mandalorians are given this honor. It is common for Mandalorians to name their loyal steeds and fashion the droid’s armor after their own beskar’gam.
Basilisk war droids are restricted to Mandalorians only, and must be explained how they earned one.
The Crusade
Having shed the oppressive ways of the Republic, Mandalore the Reclaimer has called upon every Mandalorian clan for this latest crusade. The majority have joined, thirsting for vengeance against their oppressors and the gifts Mandalore has offered. Using the groundwork laid out by their predecessors, the Mandalorians have thus far taken several planets back from the Republic.
Where previous Mandalorian actions have been through cloak and dagger operations, this is the first army of warriors seen since the Mandalorian Skirmishes fifty years ago.
Force Users
Due to their sordid history with Jedi, Mandalorians for the most part hate all who can channel the Force. Despite this most Mandalorians seek to fight one for the glory that comes with being able to claim to be a Jedi killer. With their lightsaber proof armor and honed fighting skills, many Force users are hesitant to face off with a Mandalorian. Yet infinitely more underestimate and lose their lives to a Mandalorian blade.
Mandalorians do not test for Force sensitivity at birth, and none are trained in the ways of the Force. If one was discovered attempting to, there would be a witch hunt for that Mandalorian. The current Mandalore has made it widely known that there will be no mercy in regards to Force users found within the Mandalorian ranks. Though a lightsaber may be kept as a trophy, no Mandalorian would be fool enough to attempt to use one.
