Description/Role:
The CC-208 is the ship model designed for the Republic, more specifically, the Night Witches. The ship itself is designed for mostly Night time operations where its Stealth technology makes it almost undetectable until it is too late and the pilot has initiated their Strafing Run or has already dropped off the Spec-ops behind the enemy lines.
The Republic was given two differing models of the CC-208, the CC-208 - S and the CC-208 - T. The S version was the more heavily armed version compared to the T, being equipped with triple 75mm Auto-cannons, while the T version was only equipped with two Light Rapid-fire Laser Cannons. The cannons fire once every 0.67 Seconds, throwing either Armor Piercing, High Explosive or Incendiary shells at the targets and are designed to be used within Atmospheres.
However as this is a Slugthrower, it's very inefficient at fighting in space and should avoid dogfights in Space environments at all costs as the two light laser cannons are barely able to defend the CC-208 series from more Fighter specialized enemies.
It takes 5 minutes for the auto loading system to reload or swap clips for the 75mm cannons, however, each cannon's clip carries up to 150 rounds before a reload is needed. One downside with the auto loading system the S version has is that the types of ammunition can not be mixed between the three cannons which means that if one cannon fires Armor Piercing, all do.
To allow the S ship to only have one crew member whenever on a mission, the cannons were connected to the main controller within the cockpit through three separate computers, one controlling each cannon. This allowed the Pilot to have full control over the three cannons, though they basically locked in a forward firing position, aimed straight in front of the ship so that the pilot can move around the ship while keeping the guns on target as well as making it a harder target for any counter fire.
