Thalia Asato Full Name • Thalia Callista Veronica Asato Race • Human Birthplace • Naboo Age • 25 Gender • female Sexuality • homosexual Faction • Dark Jedi, Former Sith Concept • Dark Jedi Apprentice Languages • Basic Assets • 2x light-sabers with red synthetic crystals, a large trunk of very expensive clothes. Appearance Face Claim • Deborah Ann Woll Height & Weight • 5'10, 135lbs Overall Looks • A tall, willowy creature Thalia has a taste for expensive materials in trashy configurations. Her time as a polished noble girl has given her both a sneering sense of superior taste and an intense love of rebelling against it. Often the young woman can be found in modified clothes of her own design, former ballgowns shredded and sewn back together into shimmering dark robes, screaming of tattered finery. More recently she's taken to whole civilian clothing, blending into urban environments as best one can without screaming of dark jedi. Angular in features the long light red hair falls thin and wispy about her face and shoulders, giving her a severe look in the harsh artificial light of the Sith Temple. Thalia's fair skin looks translucent and sallow in the ever burning bright of Korriban's sun, but in proper light she insists she's a very pleasing shade of porcelain, and can frequently be found skirting training exercises in order to preserve it. Bright, faded blue eyes betray her general feelings of disdain to all who notice her. Often rolled back her thin face is splashed with expressions of boredom or sulking annoyance and occasionally punctuated with destructive glee. Personality Profile In a word; snarky. Thalia has no problem with letting her general distaste for others tumble forth in a wave of eloquently worded and well pin-pointed insults. Unable to control her mouth she's been sequestered to various parts of the Temple away from the other Acolytes in an effort to keep her from being justly murdered before graduation, if she was able to feel thankful to the Overseer with a life-debt to the Asato's, she would be. Wildly inappropriate and grating in her commentary the girl has few friends outside of others who enjoy ripping her apart as much as she does them. Those friends she does carry claim to enjoy her cutting wit and occasional moments of good humor and suffer through her superiority complex. Despite her incredible lack of proper social skills, Thalia has an intense desire to be liked and admired. Perfectly secure in her general superiority to the common grunt she craves to be adored but is unwilling to act in a way that would garner such positive attention. The vulgar masses should, after all, simply flock to her clear charm (or lack their of) and wit. Background Father • Lord Marko Asato, 58, Mother • Lady Callista Asato, 54, Other Important Connections • Jack Makura, 35, Mentor and greatest thorn in her side. Overall History • Born to House Asato of Naboo Thalia was born to a rather charmed life. Her father Marko, a wealthy noble for the planet made his trillions in the Naboo cotton and textiles industry. His wife, Callista had much more maidenly interests in hosting parties and living lavishly. After many years of fertility struggles and frustrations in their advancing age Thalia was born, touted as a miracle of modern science. Shortly after birth she was tested for force sensitivity and the Jedi made an inquiry if the girl could join their ranks. The Asatos, while flattered that their miracle child was even more special, denied the request to sacrifice their only heir. And it was as such a miracle that Thalia lived, coddled and complacent, days filled with tutoring, riding, and learning the social graces of a lady. Recognized by her tutors as a bright child she took well to learning history though quickly found herself growing bored of the material and ceasing to pay attention entirely. Thoroughly spoiled she managed to get nearly every governess fired and frequently slacked off on her studies, leaving her while naturally intelligent lacking in the finer points of formal education. As well, throughout childhood Thalia struggled with making friends. Being told one is perfect and charming and delightful, unfortunately does not actually make one perfect and charming and delightful, no matter how hard one believes it to be true. And the other children surely noticed. This deepset insecurity with not being recognized and immediately liked frequently led the young girl to lash out, further driving children away much to her befuddlement. After a certain point in the cycle of wanting to be liked, being frankly horrible and then subsequently rejected Thalia, rather than adjusting her behaviour, decided she was a misunderstood genius and can recognize no fault in herself. The 'lessers' chalked up to being clearly blinded or envious, whatever was the more convenient excuse at the time. Around her 14th year the social unrest within the Republic reached a high point as grouping of nobles throughout the system began to rally together, the Asatos tired of taxes and desperate for expansion of personal territory and wealth quickly joined in. By her 16th year her family had officially defected, joining the invasion of Mygeeto as part of the Sith Empire. Settling onto the icy banking world, her father turned his interests from common agriculture and textiles to more finance related pursuits. During this time Marko met and made friends with a variety Grey and Dark Jedi, including one Vincent Calbra. In a particularly hairy run while capturing Mygeeto Marko's men saved both Calbra and his young wife, incurring a life debt that would later be repaid. Now Sith Aristocrats the Asatos settled into their new home and lives. And shortly found ruin. Far overestimating his financial abilities Marko Asato quickly lost much of their fortune and found himself surrounded by growing debts. Thalia, unaware and unconcerned with the state of her parents finances had withdrawn into an even more petulant and unpleasant teenager, displeased with living sunny, beautiful Naboo for the barren, ice wastes of Mygeeto as well as being separated from the few individuals who she considered friends. Attempting to cover up the tottering state of his empire her father went about taking loans from various sources, including a rather high profile Sith Lord, Jakkai Flamora. Finding himself unable to pay back the money in a timely manner Asato began going on long 'business' trips off world in order to dodge his creditors. Within a year his debts were so mounting that Lord Flamora's men made weekly, polite social calls to inquire on the state of their balance. When Asato could not pay the Lord merely smiled and invited, as a presumed show of good faith, the family to a visit to his estate. Unable to refuse, Thalia and her parents were dolled up and whisked away to Korriban post-haste. Upon arrival to the dusty, unpleasantly hot desert planet Thalia recalls being annoyed with the whole affair. Surely her parents could have left her behind and dealt with whatever their Sith Lord wanted. She was, briefly, thankful that once they left they'd probably never have need to return to the strange cult-happy world. As luck would have it, Thalia would not be leaving. Displeased with the state of their accounts Lord Jakkai Flamora presented the Asatos with a choice. They owed him a rather ridiculous sum of money, an amount that if called in would decimate the entire family and leave their name not only dragged in the mud, but the immediate family paupers, or to give him something of equal value. Thalia. At first scandalized at the very idea the Lord explained very simply that Thalia would be well taken care of and perhaps even useful in the long term. Marko and Callista would be able to continue living the lifestyles they were accustomed to and upon their eventual death all their titles and resources would be transferred automatically to Thalia, who if all went according to plan would be a high ranking Sith in her own right, further benefiting their cause and by extension himself. If they were to refuse, he'd simply take it. Despite the protests of his wife, Marko's choice was clear. It was a great honor to join the Sith after all. Her parents left that afternoon and Thalia was, quite reasonably, pissed. After spending the first week sulking her room Flamora informed her she was join the other Acolytes under Overseer Vincent Calbra, now a full member of the revived Sith Order. After much pouting and snark she did. Strangely enough, Thalia took well to the training. Her telekinesis and destructive abilities were learned quick and her scathing attitude, while just an universally disliked amongst the other Acolytes was almost endearing to the high ranking Sith about her. In the months that have followed her 'imprisonment' on Korriban Thalia established herself as a generally useless presence. Over the past seven years Thalia has become the apprentice of Lord Makura. Bound by their mutual contempt for the sith order the unlikely pairing have spent their years hunting down ancient artifacts and manipulating the war from the sidelines. Thalia has in this time asserted herself as a juggernaut of physical strength and a capable, if cautious student of her Master's dark force techniques. |
