Eudon carries himself with posture of man that is used to having people look up to him and have his orders obeyed without questions. At 6'1 with athletic build Eudon certainly looks the part of a warrior prince he thinks himself to be. Catching him wearing anything but the best tailored uniforms or suits is next to impossible and would be considered a major humiliation by Eudon. While conventionally handsome, Eudon's most noticeable feature is still the large scar running past his right eye. A memento of the Great War. Personality Profile Eudon Mecetti is a man in possession of a undeniably brilliant mind but one whose brilliance is somewhat hampered by the personality of the man owning it. Though borderline genius whence it comes to military strategy and tactics, Eudon's inability to recognize his opponents as his mental equals can often lead him to underestimate his enemies abilities. And while his experience often allows him to adjust his plans on the fly, he still often succeeds with higher cost than someone less burdened with a towering sense of mental superiority. Despite his arrogance, Eudon is still a staunch patriot and has a strong sense of duty towards his nation and the people whose crown prince he is. Letting them down publicly in any significant way is one of the things he will go any lengths to avoid as he is quite enamored with the adoration most of the masses in Tapani Sector give him. His family and close friends would generally describe him as loyal and generous person, though one whose ego needs a good bludgeoning occasionally. Eudon is generally fairly well disposed to take these dressings down when those close to him feel like his head beginning to bloat, as long as they happen in private and behind closed doors. Challenging him in public is a very quick way to lose his favor and friendship, however. Keeping this vague in case someone wants to jump in Overall History • In another life, Eudon Mecetti might have been a great Jedi and in fact, had he born to any other noble Tapani family he most likely would have been given to the order soon after his birth. However, since he was born into House Mecetti, a noble house that still carried some old grudges against the order, Eudon's Force sensitivity was concealed from the order. The doctor who discovered it was first bribed into silence and then, few months later, disappeared entirely, never to be seen again. Just because his father would not let his firstborn son fall in the hands of the Jedi order did not mean he would allow Eudon's Force sensitivity go undeveloped. The advantages it could provide were simply too great to ignore. The only question was where to look for a proper tutor. Ultimately only two options existed. Either enlist the help of a Jedi that had chosen to abandon the order or locate some of the scattered survivors of Mecrosa Order. Eudon's father chose the latter option. The demands of the Mercosa cell that Corik managed to locate after a lengthy search placed a few conditions on accepting Eudon as a student. One: Eudon would be inducted into the order as a member and two: Corik would help rebuild the Order's fortunes. Corik found these terms acceptable and so began Eudon's education in the ways of the Force. He would prove to be an excellent student. As the years passed, Eudon was gradually trained in all the subjects and arts expected from a nobleman of his stature and he absorbed what interested him with vigor. What he did not care for he soon forgot about but always showed an excellent ability to retain essential information and to use it in creative ways to his advantages. He especially excelled in the study of military history and political theory. The latter had captivated his interest when his father was elected to represent Fondor as its Senator around the time Eudon was fifteen. Behind closed doors, Eudon was also studying the ways of the Force, tutored by the masters of the Mercosa remnants. As much of the Order's knowledge had been lost when it had been dispersed by the Jedi centuries earlier, much of the early training was focused on the aspects that had been passed down directly from generation to generation. Over time, however, and with the generous support of Corik, the order managed to reclaim some of its lost writings and develop new techniques which were then imparted upon the apprentices, among them Eudon. The young aristocrat excelled in the telekinetic aspects of the Force as it quite well complimented his studies in wielding a lightfoil, a weapon that he was becoming quite adept at wielding. He even won some fame participating in some lightfoil fencing tournaments, consistently placing well, even in prestigious competitions. Few years following his father being elected as a senator, Eudon enrolled in one of the Republic's top naval academies in preparation for a career in either the Tapani Security Fleet or the Mecetti House Guards and continued to show similar promise as he had while being tutored at home. He constantly placed in the top 1% of his class and was often praised for innovative tactics or exemplary use of traditional ones. He did receive some criticism for often underestimating his opponents when given the command of an obviously superior force. Upon graduation Eudon was offered a position on a Republic Navy Cruiser, but he turned it down. Instead he went on to accept the command of a patrol corvette in the Tapani Security Fleet. He rose through the ranks of the Security Fleet quite quickly, propelled forward by a successful combination of undeniable talent, political connections and blatant nepotism, reaching the rank of commodore in his late thirties. When the war with the Empire broke out, his fleet was among the first Tapani fleets to be deployed in combat. During the war, he distinguished himself several times by engaging in daring and extremely successful raids against the Imperial forces as well as scoring a number of successful victories in space battles against the enemy. Some of these victories, though quite decisive in nature, were also quite Pyrrhic, incurring heavy losses on the forces under his command. Despite of this, the command back home in the Tapani region recognized that Eudon was currently the most capable of their commanders and promoted him to an admiral. By the time the Tapani Sector declared independence and recalled its fleets, Eudon had been made the acting supreme commander of the Tapani Security Fleets. This turned out to be a great boon for his father when he launched his attempt at stabilizing the newly independent nation. Following his father's ascension to the throne of the newly formed Tapani High Kingdom, Eudon's duties have become largely ceremonial and diplomatic. He still retains a keen interest in military affairs, though his time is divided on that matter. After all, helping the Mercosa Order to rebuild in the shadows also takes some of his time. He is, however, determined to do his best and help the nation to flourish. |
