They are among the most powerful ships in the Empire’s arsenal, boasting heavy armor and powerful shield generators. Dominuses bring an array of heavy turbolaser batteries to bear in battle. These are built for long-range bombardment, but are also plenty capable in a close-range slugfest. The heavy guns are supported by lighter turbolaser for targeting smaller, more nimble ships and laser batteries to pick off opposing strike craft. The ships also bear a reasonable complement of medium and heavy ion batteries. The central ridge is along the dorsal surface also contains missile tubes that allow for flexible loadouts with anything from smaller anti-strike craft missiles to heavier ordinance to tackle enemy capital ships or nuclear warheads for planetary bombardment. The sides of the ships include several proton torpedo tubes. The Dominus class sports a regular staff complement of about 10,000 personnel. They can also support planetary invasion corps of about 10,000 troops, with dropships and ground assault vehicles. Furthermore, they carry up to four dozen strike craft. Function The Dominus class is the primary heavy-hitter of the Sith fleet. These ships often take up command roles in individual Sith fleets and are powerful foes to face. They primary act in a long range role, but are perfectly capable of entering the fray and delivering knockout blows as they slug it out with enemy ships. Four Dominuses are commanded personally by the the Inner Sanctum of the Sith Order. These ships are the flagships of those particular Sith and, while not always under their command, act at their direction at times. These ships are modified to support force users and may have heavier armaments or defenses. |
