It has a dagger design, wider at the rear of the ship and coming to a blunt nose at the fore. A narrow bridge sits partially recessed on the top rear of the ship.Dotted at certain places along the hull are small ion turbine engines to aid in maneuverability. The hull of this corvette is primarily black or grey, to blend in with the backdrop of space. The Raptor-class has four levels, excluding the bridge. Engineering takes up the middle two, with the living area being the top level. The lowest is used for storage and any landing party they may have. The Raptor-class has a new power generator that puts out quite a bit of power, at the expense of generated heat. Heat cores are near the engines and power core, and can flush out the heat quickly if it unable to be released quickly through the thermal vents. Another notable feature are the two retractable laser cannons mounted on the top of the Raptor-class, just behind the bridge. Normally found on larger ships, these are hooked directly into the power core and amount to much of its firepower. Function The Raptor-class Corvette is primarily a combat vehicle, without much in the way of luxuries. With its narrow profile, weapons space is a premium, so it instead has a lighter load than one would think. It also has lighter armor, to better increase its speed. To make up for the less armor, it has several shield generators that overlap at critical places. While in combat, someone is generally dedicated to manning and watching the shields, rotating them around towards the enemy. Raptor-class corvettes, while they work great alone, whine when they are in a squadron of four, and they operate in a wolfpack fashion, with one or two taking the heat while the rest fire on the target, and swapping out as needed to make sure that there are no lost or damaged ships.
